Be careful as there is a man here that will try to “check” your documents before immigration and assist you through the visa process offering to drive you into town even. I thought he was the customs officer but he was actually a taxi driver and demanded money after dropping me off. I refused and paid him very little (and he was upset lol), but it was surprising they let drivers come past the immigration counter to try and fool tourists.

Not bad for a small airport, now the road to Moroni is better. Collective taxi to town 1 euro. Private taxi 10 euro during the day, 15 at night.

A small airport with no frills. There is an ATM outside the arrival gate, where you can withdraw local currency. Taxis are OK, about $30 to city. Old chassis, though.

Best people in the world. Beautiful place. Tourist rant about small issues which they face. They should be lucky to have set their foot on such a marvelous part of the world. Merci'

No currency exchange centres near by.. too far from the city of Moroni. May even cost 35$ from airport to moroni via taxi.

Just like any other third world country the Airport is really tiring, though a new one has been built but facilities are second to none. An extremely tiring experience. It took more than an hour for the Kenyan Air Rep to print our boarding passes. Too Slow.
