Such a massive and impressive structure. There are so many grandiose places to see in Doha. As it is right along the water, there is also a lovely pathway on both sides that you could easily spend a few hours walking along. Within, the museum is spotless and regal. A spot not to be missed in the city as it gives you nice insight into Islamic history/art/culture.

I was amazed to see the ancient history of Islamic culture and the Museum of Islamic Art presents the overall history at one place and in the most organized way. The place was so quite where a person could enjoy visiting freely and in details. The staff there is very kind and helpful. A must visit if you are in Qatar and there is no fee entering the museum. It is totally free

I went to the Islamic Museum when I was visiting Doha for a couple of days. It was definitely one of highlights of the trip. Tons of beautiful Islamic art spanning centuries. The building itself is a wonderful piece of architecture. The tea service was nice as well.

The museum houses some beautiful pieces of Islamic history throughout. We spent a couple of hours at this beautiful museum, but thought it was a bit cost prohibitive ($50 Riyal per adult) for most of the residents of Doha. It's a shame, because everyone should have a chance to see this amazing building and the stuning collection in it.

Beautiful building, lovely atmosphere, quiet and tranquil. The negatives are there were no staff in the exhibit halls only security. Also the artifacts did not have much explanation, sometimes it would be a simple as 'coin from Iran'. The view was beautiful. I would not suggest for children or young adults as it is not emersive and interactive and just has artifacts.

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) houses one of the most comprehensive collections of Islamic Art in the world. MIA building has become an icon spotlighting the cultural vision of the State of Qatar. Standing apart on the waters of the Corniche, it draws influence from traditional Islamic architecture. A must see✨

The museum is influenced by ancient Islamic architecture yet has a uniquely modern design involving geometric patterns. It is the first of its kind to feature over 14 centuries of Islamic art in the Arab States of the Persian Gulf. Occupying an area of 45,000 m2 (480,000 sq ft), the museum is on an artificial peninsula overlooking the south end of Doha Bay.

A magnificent and beautiful building with outstanding architecture. We were a little late so we weren't allowed in. The area around the museum is shaped like a crescent, probably because it symbolizes Islam. Very nice walking paths surrounded by trees with a wonderful view of the City Center (Downtown).

The exhibition on the ground floor is often interesting and a must visit although at a small price. Otherwise the entry for nationals and residents is free.

Incredible museum, if you're in Doha this is a MUST. All around its structure and architectural design is mind blowing, plus it's part of a long stretch where the views of the city along with the museum are breathtaking. Inside the museum is also an experience like no other. I was truly blown away 😍😍😍

I did not expect such a modern museum to be found in Doha and for it was a quite surprise. Many really ancient masterpieces as fabric and fine jewelry made this place worth visiting for me. It has for floors of exposition and was not crowded at all so I could enjoy me time. Location is great as you can see the Doha skyline from the courtyard

Its collection includes metal work, ceramics, jewelry, wood work, textiles, and glass obtained from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century. The museum houses a collection of work gathered since the late 1980s including manuscripts, textiles and ceramics. One of the landmarks of Qatar, its amazing architecture and rich exhibitions are not to be missed, but it also has a very nice viewing points over the dafna high buildings, two points are form the inside the museum (the cafeteria and there is a balcony with some fountains and view point. But if instead of entering the museum went arround it there is a beautiful green park, and if you followed the path it will lead you to a viewing point where land skaped grass is facing he sea and the dafna high towers behind it with thier colorful lighting reflecting on the water. You will also find there some nice cafes and a public restroom. I really recomend an evening there it is amazing and romantic

Awesome museum. A lot of unique artifacts from Ancient Islamic cultures esp Iran. Highly recommended if you spend a day in Doha. One nice tourist attractions. Nice arts of and paintings. You can take photographs inside. Also visit old market nearby. This place is really interesting and quite large. There are plenty of signs in English so don't worry about not understanding things.Cool architecture and nice exhibition. What's more, it's really serene when you visit in during the weekdays. You can enjoy all the time relaxingly and slowly on your own. Stunning museum with many century old things like; Astrolabes, torch stand, rugs/carpet, jewellery, bowls, Patterned ceramics, etc.. primarily from Iran, India, Syria, Europe, etc..The museum is influenced by ancient islamic architecture, yet has a uniquely modern design involving geometric patterns. It is the first of its kind to feature over 14 centuries of Islamic art in the Arab States of the Persian Gulf. It is well located at Doha city Center facing the beautiful modern city of Doha. There is beautiful artifacts exposed in different levels inside museum. There also a Cafe restaurant on first floor. A must do in Doha of you like museums.

The architecture alone is already a reason to visit this place. The museum, designed by renowned architect I.M Pei, is so beautiful and modern, it was amazing the way the museum appears to be sitting on still water. The galleries had a nice flow, making it easy to see all the art collections on every floor. It also has a great view of the Doha skyline. Do check out the park next to the museum for more amazing skyline views. Definitely a place to visit in Doha!

(Translated by Google) In my opinion, the architecture of the building and the views from its interior take all the applause. The place brings together a permanent collection and always some traveling. The first time I went, I was surprised that it was free (currently for non-residents it has a cost). It has a cafeteria, a restaurant, a library and a shop (the latter full of precious things). The surrounding park is ideal to enjoy on winter days (or when heat and humidity allow it). The Museum is also home to cultural and social events, so at some times of the year its movement increases. In all my visits I always felt very comfortable and welcome. It has wifi, parking and keep backpacks.

A fairly young museum in Doha, but has already gained popularity among visitors and residents. Everything here amazes: the architectural solution of the building, the adjacent park with the best panoramic view of the modern part of the city, the interior decor of the exhibition halls and, accordingly, the exhibition itself. Islamic art is presented in all aspects - writing and calligraphy, architecture, sculpture, science, jewelry, military armor and in the everyday life of people who have progressed to Islam. Tickets can only be purchased via the mobile app, subject to credit card payment. This application has an audio guide option, which allows you to find out information about a particular exhibit in an accessible form, as well as about the museum as a whole. The museum has a coffee shop with panoramic windows overlooking Doha and comfortable wrought-iron sofas where you can enjoy a cup of coffee after the tour. On the ground floor there is a gift shop with a large selection of souvenirs. If you have never been to this museum, I highly recommend visiting

A lovely respite from the heat of the desert. Not only is there a treasure trove of artwork here, the building itself is a work of art. The well curated collections are diverse and amazing. This spacious building also houses amazing traveling exhibits, so check and see what special exhibits are available for viewing. Every one we saw was well worth the time to see it and often include educational opportunities for families with children. We always felt welcome with young children. The museum store also has lovely offerings at a wide variety of price points. If you are interested in books with artwork, many are not available outside of the country. The cafe has a lovely view of the Arabian Gulf and Corniche. I never ate at the restaurant, but I heard wonderful things, and reservations are a must. Also, check out the education offerings in the attached education building & library. They have classes available that fill up fast (some for children and others for adults) and an incredible staff running them. They are well prepared and in a variety of medium and often use the works in the museum as inspiration.

MIA park or Museum of Islamic Art is very 1st place to go if you will visit Qatar , or come for work or if you have at least 2 days transit time in doha. Starting point to end point it’s a 27 min max walking distance and coming back also same. One side bay of Arab sea on the other side doha city itself. This place has a museum of Islamic arts and records, good number of cafeteria, green field, sea shores and most importantly few antic boats of Qatar. Best place for Jogging and hangout if you love to be in the fresh air. 24/7 it’s open , safe in the night also.

The building was pretty incredible! However… there wasn’t exactly a wide variety of art on display. This museum is essentially 3 floors of texts, pottery with text, prayer rugs with text, and a few swords… also with text. The story that the museum told with the interactive boards were more intriguing than the pieces on display. The view from the coffee shop dining area is pretty incredible though.

Amazing spot to take in the beauty of some of the most iconic pieces of Islamic Art spanning thousands of years of tradition and human development. Meticulously crafted beautifully preserved artifacts. It's not a super large museum with only 2 floors, but the museum is beautifully architected and situated along the harbor with amazing views during sunset. Don't forget to check out the gift shop as well with a ton of interesting pieces for sale. They also offer a ticket that gives access to 3 museums (this museum, Qatar National Museum, Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum) over 7 days for the price of just 2 one day museum entry tickets.

This museum is more beautifully built in the sea shore and under water. The exterior & interior construction and it's architecture are so amazing to watch. Hats off to the designer and builder for providing this great landmark to Qatar. The first floor has main entrance, restroom & prayer room, on the left from main hall has open space which is great to view the sea and corniche. The second and third floor has many traditional and age old items such as dresses, jewels, utensils, dishes, coins, tiles, blankets, historical varieties of religious Qur'an manuscripts, Ka'ba sitara, war weapons & armours, etc.

Nice museum in an astonishing building! The central space is enourmus and the rooms are scattered around on three levels. I really liked how the objects are highlighted in a dark environment. Don't miss the external terrase with the fountains, it has the best view to the skyscrapers.

I’ll start with the building itself, extremely beautiful and clean looking from outside and in. Entrance was seamless and staff were very friendly. There are 5 floors in total all floors with various themes, the museum is extremely well layout and flows nicely with some really interesting artifacts. When you get to the top there is an outdoor roof with breathtaking views of the city. This is a must see when in Qatar.

Cool place. Specially the MIA park is big and good. West bay view is great from inside the museum. There are displays of historical importance, placed and positioned in fine glass protected partitions and sections. I observed that the exterior including park is more relaxing and worth visiting than interior.

Beautiful architecture. The exhibits are very limited in terms of diversity and explanations. Could be a lot more informative in terms of Islamic art. The cafe and gift shops offers nice quality but a bit pricey in my opinion. The setting is lovely tough.

Falcon eye exhibition: The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is paying tribute to HE Sheikh Saoud bin Mohamed bin Ali Al Thani who was so influential in the constitution of collections for Qatar Museums and the state of Qatar in general. Sheikh Saoud’s legacy as a collector is of crucial importance to Qatar Museums as he laid the foundations of the major collections within the institution. Parts of that collection are on display at MIA, but others remain in storage.

Doha museum of Islamic Art is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor. A purpose-built park surrounds the edifice, 2 bridges connect the southern front facade with the main peninsula that holds the park.

One of the finest architectural structures in the modern history . Located on the sea , which enables us to capture the complete skyline of the Doha's westbay from its corridors . The museum showcases a huge amount of Islamic art . The entry is free for the residents . Must visit attraction . Won't be regretful.

I have visited MIA or Museum of Islamic Art one year back in 2019. Historic Building Built near Doha Corniche. Loved their vibe. The time of my visit was in February or march something. On that time "SYRIA MATTERS" exhibition was taking place there. The entry to the exhibition was cost free, but have high security check. Backpacks need to put outside, no entry to mobile phone's etc. I loved that exhibition every bit of it. MIA does not aim to give the comprehensive history of Syria's past culture but it's five specific historic moments which is relevant to Middle East: diversity, multi-ethnicity, multi-religiosity and cosmopolitanism, but also intrusions by outsiders. And at last We have a reviewing option to judge the exhibition too. A big Hats off to MIA. Need more exhibitions like this. I got a guide from there, posted with this review. Highly recommending for visit

One of the most impressive art galleries I have ever visited. Designed by the famous award-winning architect I.M. Pei, Doha's Museum of Islamic Art is simply a modern wonder. It is located on the south side of Doha's Corniche on a man-made island sixty metres from the shore, though reached by a land road. Set in the MIA Park on the Doha waterfront, the museum building stands out as an architectural gem. Entry to the museum is free. The minimalist cubic exterior offers you no idea of how beautiful it is inside, though the look of it outside is just fine in its minimalist way. Right in line with Pei's other great works. The interior was designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and has to be seen to be believed. I will not describe it in detail here but just say you MUST see it if in Doha. The vast interior space occupies about 5 or 6 floor levels, and all the viewing rooms are on the outer extremities of this space. There are numerous rooms, very cleverly designed to show the many exhibits in the best possible way. You will see masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles and glass, collected from three continents and dating from the 7th to the 19th century. Certainly one of the very best museums I have ever visited, anywhere. Simply unmissable. I spent a long 'half-day' there. There are many breathtaking views from the museum itself.

The museum actually illustrates the face of a Muslim woman, try to pay attention to this detail. Free entrance for the people who live there and 50qr for the tourists. (U pay 50qr to see 2 or 3 museums, not just MIA) Outside you can enjoy (or take a photo) with a beautiful view of the Doha skylines. The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is a pioneering project spotlighting the cultural vision of the State of Qatar, both in the region and across the world. Under the guiding vision of His Excellency, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the project is the cornerstone for the State of Qatar in its establishment as a global capital of culture. The 35,500 sq. m museum was designed by I.M. Pei, taking inspiration from the 13th-century sabil (ablutions fountain) of the 9th-century Mosque of Ahmad ibn Tulun in Cairo. The museum comprises a five-level main building and a two-storey Education Wing, connected across a fountain courtyard. The main building’s angular planes form ascending pinnacles, rising around an atrium. Inside, a dome is revealed, concealed from outside view by the walls of a central tower. A window on the building’s north side rises to a height of 54 m., providing dramatic views from all five floors.

A wonderful place to see and live the Islamic history, see artefacts from almost all corners of the Islamic world. The collection ranges from simple artefacts like rings and bangles, to more complex things like a full metal armor of a soldier, rugs in good conditions, furniture, housewares and a lot more. Beside the permanent museum there is always another exhibition or two, temporary ones, that are worth visiting. The cafe in ground floor is OK. The food is mediocre but the view is wonderful. A great place to go to.

Picture taken in early 2020. MIA is rich in art and gives you both the modern and arabesque feels. I just wish they also provide a tour guide to tour us around or a headset that we can play to give us a dept meaning of the arts and artifacts that are in there. But overall, I liked the place. It is free entrance for those holding a Qatar resident permit. If you are someone who loves to travel a lot and loves studying culture and arts, this is a good place. You can also go there alone, because I don't recommend chatting while in there. Timing are: Saturday to Thursday: 9am – 7pm Friday: 1.30pm – 7pm Galleries, Gift Shop and Café close 15 minutes before closing

Piece of art, the place is so peaceful and so relaxing, and the beauty of the view is outstanding from inside, specially the spot near the fountain

Interesting collection of artwork from across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Lots of rugs, jewelry, manuscripts, and armour. In my opinion, it's a nice size for a museum. You can visit all the exhibits in one stop.

Many beautiful artifacts but over half the exhibits were closed. First, fourth and fifth floors were completely closed. What was actually open was worth seeing, but still…. View from the cafe and wharf area show off the whole city. Worth seeing but a little disappointed.

Stunning experience - such a beautiful building which goes through the stages of Islamic History beautifully. Lovely cafe on site to get a snack. They should introduce some kids activities to keep them occupied somehow too.

By far the best attraction in Qatar. The exhibits were absolutely fantastic. The building itself is a work of art. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for something to do for a good 3-4 hours. Worth every second.

Amazing experience, learned a lot of new things about our Islamic history. Amazing to see very good and excellent work. I wish I could take something from there and keep it at my home as a memory. Every one must go and appreciate the hard work made by government to collect every single item placed inside this beautiful museum. Great work Government of Qatar.

One of the best museums to know more about Islamic history and other Middle Eastern countries history as well, cause they have different exhibitions that are changed every now and then when we were there the exhibition was about Baghdad and the history of Iraq amazing

Impressive collection of Islamic art from its early days presented in a spacious and convenient setup accompanied by interactive displays. Minimum of two hours needed to go through it all.

The Museum of Islamic Art is a museum on one end of the seven-kilometer-long Corniche in Doha, Qatar. As per the architect I. M. Pei's specifications, the museum is built on an island off an artificial projecting peninsula near the traditional dhow harbor.

Immerse yourself in the wonders of an extraordinary museum, where a plethora of captivating artifacts awaits your exploration. I was truly enamored and thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and I'm certain you will fall in love with this enchanting place as well.

It's not worth much for the price. There were some "artistic" items that I would say you can find in any Middle Eastern market. But the restaurant was very nice and the view was spectacular.

So much historical content from the Islamic world. The interior design of the building was absolutely magnificent as I have never seen a Museum of this caliber before. The displays and presentation overall was outstanding. Highly recommended to visit if you’re ever in Doha.

The exhibits don't overwhelm you and everything is nicely organized. You also get good views of the Doha skyline from the area outside the museum.

Genuinely impressive museum. Beautiful architecturally inside and out. Large range of varied galleries. A very interesting journey through global history via the lens of Islamic artefacts and culture- we spent several hours here happily. The cafe is excellent too!

One of the most beautiful museums I’ve visited in the world. Also worth visiting just to go to their cafe with a beautiful view of Doha’s skyline.

A really nice museum, spread out across four floors. You definitely need two hours or more in there to go through everything. 50QR for entry.

If you only have time for one museum in Qatar, this is it! It has it all, stunning building, expansive views, and a well curated collection of art from across the history of Islamic culture. Oh and there is a lovely cafe for some afternoon tea. The highlight of my short visit to Doha.

Very new museum with a large exhibition space. I particularly enjoyed the ornate fabrics and rugs. The jewellery is quite a bit over the top for my taste.

The architecture and museum is amazing and beautiful. One should visit this art museum if visiting Doha. It will take around 3 to 4 hours to completely cover the museum.

Excellent collection of art from Islamic counties (and former Islamic counties - Spain, Portugal and India) covering 1300 years contained within an I.M. Pei designed building. The artifacts are well displayed and the signage is too. It's right on the Corniche which you can walk along before and/or after visiting the museum.

The skyline was beautiful, couldn’t see the museum from the inside myself but the architecture was stunning. Lots of places to eat from near there too, really enjoyed my time in this area.

The building was very impressive just in shear size, the decor around the building was simple as the focus is suppose to be on God (Allah) however, it was still a very beautiful building with simple architecture features and...
