Not happy with service at restaurant, there was 1 waiter sitting down at the bench he looked up and then the other one continued with what he was doing. The other waiter had a mobile phone looking at his ear then his neck then started checking his hair as if he was looking for fleas. I stood watching for 5 minutes the waiter with mobile phone left, the other 1 stood up I said " do you want my room number? " Very little choice in food, food not replenished 4 slices of bread left no juice in container. Flies buzzing around the food, sitting on open communal butter jar. I asked for an omelette it was tasteless, I didn't see the waiter wash his hands. I feel the hygiene is lacking greatly. No fruit, yoghurt or pastries! I asked for those items. I didn't eat there next morning despite having paid for breakfast! The photos depicted on the website are misleading ! I won't be going back again !

Do not stay. My first night checking in I came home around 2 am after a World Cup game and there’s was a roach in the bed! And I showed the the video and the manager basically disregarded my concern and basically to him it was no big deal. I had to fight to change rooms and the next room I got moved to the water was coming out yellow!! Disgusting hotel , needs updating, managers are useless , they offered me a free breakfast for my inconvenience ( w/ I declined ). So you’re telling me a free breakfast will fix roaches in the bed and nasty yellow water that’s coming from the shower and the sink?! BEWARE!!

This hotel is a walking distance from the popular Souq Waqif and also close to the metro and a lot of shops and money changers . The staff were very nice . The hotel has a sauna and an indoor pool . My room was the superior queen room. Very spacious, it had a tv and fully functional kitchen.

My experience has been very positive. The hotel is well situated, near the metro line, in the old city, and near the sea. The room was clean, the services are correct and the staff very friendly, eager to help you for everything at any moment. I will go again.

Good location walking distance from old town of Souq Waqif, main markets, restaurants. Cosy rooms with mini refrigerator and kettle with tea and coffee. Good basic breakfast with great lovely staff, but it needs to offer food of breakfast, not lunch. For example but not limited to, Falafel instead of rice. The hotel offers an indoor swimming pool, steam, and sauna rooms. Unfortunately, I booked this hotel due to its SPA facilities, but I was extremely disappointed. The pool size is for children. The steam & sauna rooms are tiny for one person only and absolutely useless as the sauna is cold, and the steam is burning because it's for one person, and its steam outlet burns your legs beneath chair.

Decent budget hotel, everything is a bit dated especially compared to the rest of Doha. Really convenient location, right next to the Souq Waqif Metro stop. Staff were all lovely. Our exterior of the 2 windows was smashed before we got there but the staff just said it was fine and would t move us room

First time in Doha for my husband and I. We stayed at Kingsgate hotel. The staff greeted us right away. Reception desk guy Achila was amazing. Very humble and kind. Did not have any issues at this hotel. Room was clean, view was spectacular. Location was very convenient, right across from the metro station. Walking distance to Souk Waqif. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Doha. Will definitely come back again

This hotel is wonderful. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and there are many facilities in the hotel. Furthermore, it is near the subway station, making it easy to access tourism places in Doha. Souq Waqif and National Museum of Qatar are also not far away.

The reason why I chose to stay here was mainly because of their kitchen. Especially if you like outside food and takeouts or looking to stay long. The hotel only provides breakfast from certain hours and then snacks after that. The service is extremely fast! Especially housekeeping since I like sleeping in late they will clean after hours when I go out in the evenings so I really appreciated that. The location is actually amazing being almost central of souq waqif so it’s basically a walk away and you have everything so close including food, movies and so much more to see. I loved the view from my room. The staff is very friendly and very helpful all the time. I did not have any problems. The only thing I would ever considering giving my opinion on is the pool. I wish it was outdoors and a bit bigger as I love swimming a lot. I really like the gym it’s more than enough otherwise that’s it from me. Ps also just to let you know there’s no actual parking for the hotel but there are certain places you can park if you are lucky enough to get space! Would recommend this place again!

Talk about the worst stay ever in a hotel! Let me spill the tea—receptionist Madhuri takes the crown for being utterly rude and unwelcoming. Seriously, Madhuri, a little hospitality won't hurt, especially when your guest is being all kinds of respectful. It's like I walked into a "no welcome" zone. First impressions? They stick, remember that. And my room? Well, I hit the jackpot - shabbiest view in the house. Polite requests for something better? Nope, they handed me the "worst possible room" card. Oh, and there were other rooms just lounging there, but making my day wasn't on the agenda. Took a trip to the pool—big mistake. The floor was a litter and dirt battleground. Quick exit, and I thought I'd unwind in the steam room. Guess what? No operator in sight. Tried dialing reception from the phone there, but the microphone was on vacation too! Let's rewind a bit. Millennium Hotels had wowed me with their swanky 4 and 5-star havens like Millennium Central and Millennium Doha. So, picking Kingsgate, nestled oh-so-close to the souq, seemed like a smart move. Spoiler alert: Epic oopsie! Not signing up for this ever again. Kingsgate, here's a tip: hospitality isn't rocket science. Crack a smile, spread the warmth, and provide rooms that aren't punishment zones. First impressions matter, and well, you lost that round big time!

No room available until 12 had to wait 6hrs in guest waiting room where there were already 10 people waiting and there was no place in the room so I had to sit outside the room for 6hrs. First of all your staff needs to give the correct information at 6am when I reached hotel staff told check in is at 10 I went to staff Mr. Madhu at 10 he was really rude he said he will make me a no show if I can't wait until 12. At 12 I got a room which was having smell of cigarette. Pathetic service by Mr. Madhu... I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This tired-looking hotel needs some serious maintenance and ideally a full refurbishment. As a quarantine hotel, it is just about ok (but not cheap) - I would not stay there for any other purpose. It was spotlessly clean, and had good working Wifi, but there were numerous issues that needed addressing (hot water supply variable, leaking taps, not enough furniture for number of guests staying). The food that was delivered was of very poor quality - we didn't eat most of it, but chose to use Talabat (food delivery service) instead.

Terrible experience at this hotel. Location is very very bad. The biggest thing is that the area around this hotel is under major construction. So getting ubers or having cars pick you up is very difficult because unless they know the back entrance, the GPS will not work. Also it is unsightly because of the construction and the area does not look like classic pretty Doha at all. A true eyesore. Further I had problems with my check in. I messaged the hotel saying I will be arriving due to a delayed flight. When I got there, they had given my room away and marked me as no show. So like another person commented, I had to wait in the lobby for hours for them to find me a room. Lastly, the front desk staff are rude and unhelpful. My biggest problem is the location and construction though

The time of my review is covid restrictions period : This hotel we booked under quarantine package. I am giving this review seeing other sufferers in view too. Hotel dont allocate rooms immediately upon your arrival. The waiting time is as per existing customer check out only. This is happening maybe because the hotel fully packed. When we used they told no rooms. Wait for others to checkout.Reception is little arrogant. But my patience able to handle it. My self and other family that arrived morning 5:00am , we both families waited until 0945 for room allocation. As per hotel the check out for existing customers is 0900. So if you are early to hotel then no use also. So plan your journey accordingly. Rooms are fine. Our room have all services . So no complaints on that part. Service is fine. Again i am saying its allocated for quarantine bookings. So certain limitations you will face. Hotel Surroundings consturction of roads happening. So some transportation issue to reach out will be there.

My friend stayed their a night to have a year end celebration. The room will give you cozy feeling. It has a living room where everyone can stay their and have a chat. It also has a small kitchen where you can warm your food. The balcony was also spacious. I would definitely consider booking again to this hotel if I have given a chance. I just wish that the ongoing construction happening adjacent to the hotel will be finished soon.

Before am coming to qatar i have visited the discover qatar site for selecting a hotel with quarantine facilities and i have selected this hotel because its under comfortable budget for me and my friend we have selected a combo room. When we reached here (currently we are staying here) after completing all the formalities they have showed the room but actually the room is good but they provided a couple bed for us not single bed and other things are ok but the worst thing is the food and food delivery related issues. Several times they made the same mistake that any item will be missing on the food kit and one time they have only delivered food only for one person and the food items missing is happened again and again for 2 to 3 times and when we ask for any turkey ore coffee sugar they will make a huge delay for delivering that, totally we are fed up with this issues, and anyone who are booking this hotel just enquire about the food and facilities.

Breakfast: Above average Lunch Dinner: stingy with the menu, road side kerala restaurant style food Room: usual three star, bathroom not as polished, no toothpaste, towels and bed sheets are not as clean Tea coffee: limited sachets Didn't like draconian rules like "you shall be charged if you stain the sheets". For God's sake, we are quarantining for two days, there are no place to eat except for your bed, and you are very likely to spalsh your food. Overall, DO NOT book this hotel.

I stayed in Qatar for 10 days. First 5 days I was in a different hotel, and last 5 days in Kingsgate. Will mention both positives and negatives of this hotel Positives 1. Swimming pool with hot water and a kids pool too so that kids were happy. 2. Very good house keeping staff 3. Walking distance to Souq Waqif and Metro station. Negatives 1. There is no parking for the hotel and we have to park the car in main road or open space. 2. Attitude of check in staff is not good. They are like "why are you here when we are very busy" .. reason for this I feel is that it's a "quarantine hotel" and only 2 floors are dedicated for normal guests. So they are daily dealing with Quarantine guest who comes any time of day and night and waits at the reception and argues or shouts untill the rooms are allocated. So when normal guests walk in- the staff may feel irritated.. But this is not expected from a Brand like "Millennium Hotels". And moreover this Quarantine situations will be over any time and by that time if your reviews are becoming poor you will be loosing normal business. So my humble suggestion is to be polite with the guests. The manager of the hotel(I think he the Egyptian national- sorry to use the nationality to adress him as I don't know his name)- he is really nice and polite. 3. I was having a "Business package" for 5 nights in which 2 hours early checkin and 2 hours late check out is allowed. I reached hotel by 1.30 PM And I waited untill 3.30 PM for the room to be alloted to me.. and more over I have upgraded the room from Deluxe to Superior and paid extra money also and i doubt the room I got was Superior or not.. it was offcourse not as per the photos on the website. 4. Construction going on nearby the hotel and hence lot of noise and dust(offcourse it's not hotels mistake) 5. The in house restaurant is closed. They don't serve buffet breakfast. Their breakfast is packed.

Deluxe suite was big enough. It is situated 20 minutes from airport and that's why we booked this for one night. But it is far from downtown. From nearest metro station although center and the rest of city is accessible. Two steam saunas and two electric saunas (very tiny ones) are little extras.

  • 5/5 Desmond L. 8 months ago on Google
4.5/5 It's evident that the hotel offers a cost-effective choice for staying, with several positive aspects that enhance the overall experience. The cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms, along with good services, contribute to a comfortable stay. The hotel's flexibility in granting a late check-out shows a customer-centric approach, accommodating guests' needs and preferences. The superb location, with close proximity to tourist attractions and easy access to the metro station, adds convenience and value to the stay, making it an attractive option for tourists. However, one noticeable drawback is the expensive airport shuttle service offered by the hotel at QR80. Considering that UBER provides a more affordable option at QR50 for a round trip, the hotel's shuttle service might seem less competitive in terms of pricing. This could be an area of improvement for the hotel to consider in order to enhance its overall cost-effectiveness for guests.

Stayed a couple of nights in May when it was very hot outside. The Hotel was very comfortable and in a great location. You can walk to the Souk Waqif in the evening or to the local underground station during the day. The only disappointment was the indoor pool which is very small and heated to bathwater temperature! I would be happy to stay here again if I came back to Doha.

Horrible experience so far. I've spent a week asking every single day for my laundry to be delivered once ready, pick the new items I HAVE PUT IN THE BAG and give me a new laundry bag, how hard is this standard practice in the hotel industry? I have talked to every member in the reception and all housekeeping staff and they just promise to pass the instruction on which never happened. I still call them every evening to go look for my clothes and come pick up the laundry!! And they never give me new bags!!!! Just now, I put the bin outside my room, housekeeping passed by but never picked it... Worst customer culture I've encountered, will have to end my reservation and blacklist this place from our company's future reservations. Sincerely.

The location is excellent. You are walking distance from main markets, restaurants and old town center. The reception is not really friendly, each time I approached them, they were asking me about my check out date. The furniture is outdated, has clear signs of use over time. I disliked the most the smell in the hotel and this humid machines they were using to improve the smell. I got initially a smoking room and I am a non smoker. Kept the window open all the time and it was fine but yes, this affected the quality of the sleep. 90 EUR for two days in the heart of Doha is pretty cheap so this comes with some unpleasant surprises. Good for a short stay but would not book again.

I agreed with a girl to meet at this hotel When I entered, the reception supervisor stopped me and said what do you want and asked me for my friend's room number. I think this is not good, especially since I want confidentiality and security.

Everything about this hotel is good especially its location. You can easily go to best places of Qatar like souq Waqif and corniche etc. These places are on a walking distance from the hotel. Only drawback is that the hotel has no parking of its own.

We chk in last 2nd of Aug 2023, for 8 days. Now if you are using a public transport, this hotel is good, nearby metro and shopping, but if you have a car, like us, you're going to have a problem for parking, because the hotel don't have their own carpark.. And also the water is really hot, because it's summer. Room service staff are helpful, we appreciate their effort..

I only spent 1 night for my layover before flying back to Kuala Lumpur. Nevertheless, I feel satisfied with my stay. The staff were really helpful. The room amenities truly met my expectations. Love the small kitchenette in the room. Will stay again if I get to visit Doha again next time.

My stay at Kingsgate has been great, Rooms are clean, Reception area is nice and the hotel overall is great. Its quite and the location of it is really nice as its in the heart of Doha and a 5-7 minute walking distance to Souq Waqif, 3-5 minutes walking distance to the Metro station. There are many services very near to the hotel like groceries, barbershops and a Laundry Shop. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Welcoming fragrance aroma upon entry was really nice. Neat & clean, decent cozy hotel with all basic amenities, gym, swimming pool, sauna, cafeteria, nice lobby, billiards & mini football table. Nice location walking distance to Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art & Park, Corniche, and accessible Metro to everywhere in Doha. Good hotel & reasonable rate.

Probably one of the best hotels in Qatar if you are visiting. The price is reasonable. They come under Discover Qatar if you are visiting from India and opting for visa under arrival. Also just outside the hotel is entrance to Souq Waqif metro. Souq Waqif is also hardly 10 mins walk.

I spent 7 days quarantine after reaching Doha at the Kingsgate Hotel. The reason to choose Kingsgate Hotel was pretty simple, it is the least expensive hotel you could find in Discover Qatar website. The first impact the hotel had on me after reaching wasn't great. Even though the arrival time was clearly mentioned during the booking, the room was not ready when I reached the hotel. So I had to wait almost 2 hours at the hotel reception before moving to the room. The room was spacious enough with well maintained amenities. The washroom wasn't fully clean. But overall the room was very satisfying. The worst part of the 7 days stay was the food! To be frank, you expect a lot more quality from a 3 star property. At times I had to skip the breakfast completely as it wasn't good at all. Kingsgate Hotel charge you almost 2000 QAR for 7 days but I don't think the overall experience actually worth it!

However, the service must be provided to the customer if MADO he will fulfill my request Bbecause he is the best and knows how to deal with customers....... Thank you

The hotel is very close to Souq Waqif waking distance. The hotel room are very spacious but need some renovation specially on the bathrooms. I was there during Ramadan and they don’t give ice because their restaurant was closed, a bit of a disappointment. The hotel was clean. But is not suitable for people on a wheelchair, there is no ramp to enter to the hotel.

The location is very convenient, 5 min walk to Souk Wakef, 10 min walk to the Cornish, 2 min walk to the metro , 20 min walk to the museum's (islamic arts and Qatari National museums) Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back.
