Decent hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was average nothing too fancy or too trashy. Breakfast was meh, and restaurants around not that really interesting or fancy. Needs to work more on food and on their breakfast buffet.

We stayed here for the Qatar World Cup 2022 as part of the package offered by Qatar Airways Holidays. As a proclaimed “5 Star” hotel, they failed miserably in quality of service and food. Upon check-in we were given room keys to a room that was still occupied and had to face an embarrassing moment walking in into someone else’s room. The food was basically inedible- every single time. What an unfortunate experience for a stay that we spent a lot on and took away from a monumental memory. Avoid this place if you can! Life is too short for this…

I attended a Training session here about 10 years ago. The food in the buffet restaurant was enormous and satisfying. The rooms seem clean and well organized. The exterior of the building itself says a lot about how they spend a lot of effort to produce quality in beauty and elegance.

Quite mediocre rooms and bathroom(very old and outdated). You can find 3 star hotels near by in better condition than this. Not a great choice for this price range.

It was unfortunate timing with so many teams in hotel. The room looks luxurious but need maintenance (a lot). The swinging pool is fantastic. The breakfast is the least favorite thing.

I had an excellent stay at Grand Regency Hotel and the hotel was clean, comfortable, good location, and well-maintained. All staff they were friendly, and attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Doha.

The hotel is old and well maintained. Furniture all scratched up. We reserved a suite but it had a king bed and we wanted twin beds, the reception manager (I believe his name was Mazhar) was not flexible at all. He insisted that we take an extra bed with a nightly charge or deal with it. We asked him to downgrade us and upgrade someone else, he refused. We asked him to give us the extra bed with a discount rate, and he refused. His excuse was that he don’t have the authority to do neither, which I found not plausible. It was during world cup, and the hotel was full. But I am sure guests are coming and going all the time during the day. He did not even bother to check the movement to help us out with our request. Definitely not staying there next time.

The service I received is not what I expected from a “5 star hotel”. The check in was delayed by 2-3 hours, and very slow service from the reception desk and it doesn’t seem to have a proper queue in the first place. The sink in one of the rooms was clogged, spoons had coffee stains and sugar, the washroom smells like cigarettes.

Terrible experience. It used to be a decent hotel until recently. They’ve opened a bar downstairs and I could hear the music all the way up in the 5th floor. Subsequently even after changing the room to a different wing I could still hear the music and this struggled to sleep. The music is there till 2am in the morning.

Booked this hotel for my parents quarantine. They reached the hotel around 8:30 am after an overnight flight. At 10:30am, they are still waiting at the hotel lobby to check-in to their room. I hope the people from Discover Qatar are reading all of the comments here. My mistake was that I didn't read these comments before booking this hotel for my parents. I will more to the comments once I get feedback from my parents on their stay, food etc. In the meantime, I am putting up this review on every available forum.

Very bad service. The reception doesn’t pick up the call and no menu was given. The kids had a hard time without proper food. And even with the antigen test result they were very slow and was delaying unnecessarily. Even during check in they were delaying allotting the room where as they were allotting the rooms to arabs very fast.

They were not cooperating with me. I had problem with taxi driver arriving from airport to hotel and they let him go. Food is bad and not consistent..ex: pasta with minced meat and fried fish (fillet). I ordered water and other staff and they didn't get them. Room is old fashioned and aplliances are ruined. The most annoying thing is asking for tips when getting me exceptional meal as i arrived 1 am. They were even refusing to get me a meal when arrived from airport.

I booked 5 star hotel but after coming to the room, it's even not better than 3-star hotel. There is no shower area. In Bathtub they added a shower. Very small room and the food quality is also bad. I stayed in Doha Westin Hotel and I enjoyed the stay there as 5 star hotel.

We arrive on Sun 23 April before 2pm...we stayed till now which is 4:30pm we have not received our rooms. I have reported this to assistant front office manager Mr Mazhar his response was that “ this is not a hotel falt;as you have a group reservation and the delay is related to cleaning rooms” Is this an unacceptable response by any hotel that respect customers!

Reasonable for the value. Breakfast was good and a great range of offering. Bed was comfortable (most important if like me you spend little time in the hotel). Staff are certainly very friendly and helpful as is often the case for the Middle East.

I had a late checkout and wanted to go eat after I left the hotel but Ramadan was in effect and was not possible to do so, they allowed me to recheck in without an extra cost to me and order room service so that I could eat. Not only that the attention they give there gust is great so nice and friendly staff. I want to thank the people that work there for making my experience a great one.

I recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and awe-inspiring architecture. The buffet was exceptional because it offered a wide variety of delicious meals. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness created a welcoming atmosphere, especially the supervisor, Mr. Rintu, who gave us an unforgettable experience for me and my family.

It's a good hotel. There are few concerns, not getting the welcoming faces in the front office areas. Can have a minimarket inside the building, otherwise we need to go long way to get things.

The hotel in a very good location that you can reach all attractive. The manager Ms. Nermin was very nice with usand also the other staff. The problem is the hotel is quite old. So don’t expect to be a fancy hotel. The price was reasonable . My family didn’t like the smell.

Yati was amazing and gave us excellent service and upgraded us to a suite, with a huge bed. Location is a 3 because it's 20 minute drive from the airport. Shower in bath was a bit slippery.

Left my kids favourite toy in the room upon checking out. Phoned a few times but apparently nothing was found in the room. The bar downstairs plays loud music until the early hours which affects your sleep

Been visiting this hotel for quite some time now. Even though it is old, it has this very nice and classy ambiance. The staffs are friendly and accommodating and the rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is open around 7am and had a quick dip, I was so glad that it is situated in between the hotel's two building so it is basically blocking the sun which is good for me 😅 as I don't want to get burned.

My one-night stay at the Grand Regency Doha was nothing short of exceptional. As a business traveler, I was impressed by the hotel's ability to seamlessly combine work and relaxation. The room was not only spacious and elegantly designed but also well-equipped with all the amenities I needed for a productive stay. The comfortable workspace allowed me to focus on my work, and the high-speed internet kept me connected without any hitches. One highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast at the hotel. The variety of options available, from a continental spread to local specialties, catered to different tastes, ensuring a delightful start to the day. What truly stood out, though, was the meeting hall. It was not only a conducive space for business meetings but also versatile enough to host friends who visited me. The hotel's attention to detail in creating an environment suitable for both professional discussions and casual get-togethers was remarkable. The staff at the Grand Regency Doha were courteous and accommodating, which added to the overall experience. Whether you're on a business trip or just looking for a comfortable stay with the added benefit of a great meeting space, this hotel is a top choice in Doha. I left with a sense of satisfaction and would highly recommend it to fellow travelers.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Qatar (Wyndham Grand Regency Doha). Specially thanks to ashraf , majeed , kim , yati , on front desk & all staff Best regards, M Hassan & Neda

It's really grim and so I'm trying to get a reservation at another hotel. The room stinks of cigarette smoke. Someone else's pubic hair is on my toilet and I'm my bed and there's mould in the fridge. I really don't like leaving negative reviews but this place is truly awful. I've only just arrived in the last half an hour and am trying to get out. Took a look at the breakfast and it's more akin to a school packed lunch. You'll definitely lose weight if you stay here because you'll either not want to eat any of the food or you'll catch some nasty illness from the mouldy fridge. Edit: Got a place at the Wyndham West Bay and it's wonderful.

Arrived and was put in a room with 2 single beds after specifying we wanted a king bed, waited ages for them to come move us...gets to new room, smaller with a brick wall for a view. Pillows are terrible, just hard and lumpy...never witnessed anything like this before Room only had one bath towel, one coffee cup, phoned again to ask for extra cup and towel...waiting forever for service...Not good enough...never again

Except for the extremely arrogant lady in the clinic, the impolite lady in the reception and ignorant valet staff, the hotel is very nice. I was surprised to see the same person behaving differently to different nationality guests. Room service / food was also good.

-2 days quarantine package. Poor room service and below average food. Lunch is not being served on the check out day. Other hotels do provide it on the check out day.

Food served during 7 night quarantine was horrible. Breakfast in particular was terrible. It upset my stomach. My room had a tiny window which had a wall in front of it. So I spent some 7 day without sunlight. Apart from this the room was fine.

Overall It was a nice stay. Foods are all delicious, room is good and the people from the dining are superb! The only letdown was the parking space and the check in/out counter. Parking space is very limited, saw my car was park on the side of the street by a valet attendant, I have to get the key in the evening to park it myself on the basement. The tall valet attendant team leader on that night was no help and little bit rude. No courtesy. The check in/out counter was so long to process the room. Of all the hotel here in Doha, i think your counter is the longest, specially on checking out. Have to wait for a good 10minutes plus just for checking out. Other hotels are just below 4minutes or less.

Worst hotel : - Bad and poor food quality - garbage everywher in cooridors (hosting basketball teams) - dusty rooms - old furniture (they still offer a DVD 😂) - dirty carpentry - Toilet not cleaned well - clogged sink (rotten beans inside) - 48 hours to deliver laundry and insist to pay in advance

The big Arabian bellboy was rude when I entered the hotel, he yelled to me even though I was asking him about the parking politely. Furniture is an ancient and the mattress was Worn out, there was something like a sharp nail exposed and injured my ankle. No designated closed area for parking. Room service was rough when I called regarding to check out time.

Staff were trying to deal with a mass of check ins and check outs during the World Cup when we arrived. Chaos. Not organised at all, claimed we were "on the list" for check in but didn't even take our name or look at our reservation. Surely they could have seen the amount of check outs in advance and got more housekeeping staff in, and thought through how they would handle it. The hotel appears a bit more dated than we expected and there is zero sun at the pool

  • 1/5 Awad A. 1 year ago on Google
Starting from chick in the person there was very slow and he couldn't find our reservation, later on when we went to the room the smoking smell were all over the place even when our room was nonsmoking, and during our stay suddenly room door opened and there was another guest entering the room when we spook to the reception they gave the other guest the same room that we booked, moreover we suffer from food poising after we had denier from the hotel the doctor say that the food you ate was bad. it was very bad experience and I will never go back to the same hotel or any Grand Regency hotels.
