Musfur Sinkhole is located approx. 40 Km off Doha. To reach the location, you will have to do some off-road drive (about 02-2.5 KM) which is not quite rough. It's an old historical site. It's like a deep cave but not in a mountain, just below the earth surface. The depth is around 50 meters. Temperature inside the cave is quite low as compared to outside. Going down and coming up is not too easy though. Better go in broad daylight. Although there is nothing so special about it, yet it's still a better place to connect yourself with nature far away from these steel and concrete buildings.

There are no tickets; entrance is free. Recommend hiking shoes or sneakers but it’s possible in flats (as I had), if not ideal. The descent is NOT paved and there aren’t cut steps. Each step is a different height. It’s rough so anyone unsteady on their feet may not enjoy this. Anyone with a basic level of fitness on uneven terrain can complete this. Parking is readily available. Suggested to bring water.

It’s a Massive ancient cavern believed to be the deepest accessible sinkhole to have been discovered in QATAR 🇶🇦.. (Sinkhole Formed “When Water caused Dissolution of a layer of Gypsum”) The Site is Situated less than an hour drive west of Doha,it’s best to equip your self with a Gps App,So that you’ll not get lost and Reach the Location before Sundown.. It’s a Great place to Visit for a day-trip,The Misfir is dubbed as the largest and Deepest still only accessible Caves in the State of Qatar.. Please note; Don’t leave your trashes and litters in side the Hole,It’s sad because besides the countless graffiti painted all over the cave walls and ample sum of litter mindlessly scattered insides

Amazing experience. There’s not many of such places here in Qatar. Follow the map and you ll reach an off road. Make sure your vehicle is in good condition. Even if it is a sedan. The way to the sinkhole is all bumpy and full of stones and rubbles. There’s tiny boards to guide you every few metres along the way, so it wouldn’t be difficult. You would not find anyone to ask for directions in most cases, so make sure you’re checking the map correctly! The sink hole is isolated and I would not recommended taking kids there. There are a few benches so those who cannot enter, could wait outside. I would recommend going there doing winter season. The cave is a bit unsafe, so make sure you’re not going alone. But the experience is wonderful and the sight from underneath is beautiful! Oh also, do wear good shoes, if you wish to climb down! There’s a grandmart hyper before you turn toward the sinkhole route so you don’t have to worry about getting amenities.

Nice place. Approximately 2 km off-road... If you are interested to ride off-road you just go there. Not at all too heavy task. Cave is nice... and very deep inside.... I felt this place is not in Qatar.. look like so.... Must go there before sunset.

Sink hole was magnificent. But trashes everything. It was sad. People don't care about cleanliness. And there's graffiti on the wall. Hopefully more awareness for people coming here

Good place to visit. Something different from usual beach and malls. Felt like an adventure. Went with family. All enjoyed it. The Google map take you right to the place. You can go in small cars as well. The place could have been cleaner. Some improvement could be made.

It is pretty spectacular. Adventurers can climb into the sinkhole and descend to explore the rocky area, and it’s a great spot for budding photographers. It also offers up a welcome respite from the summer heat as the cave-like structure is cool all year round. It’s accessible all day, but we recommend heading here during daylight hours.

One of the Qatar’s best historic place to visit. From outside its look normal but when you go down you will be surprisingly like it the temperature is pretty down inside the sinkhole. Going down and climbing up its not easy job there so has to be very careful, must be visit in day light due to off road drive, off road is around 2.5 to 3 KM to reach location. Though doesn’t have washroom facilities. A must visit place with family and friends

The place can be easily reached using google map. It took us 40 mins to reached the sinkhole from Doha using Salwa road via exit 35. A small portion of the road around 1km leading to the sinkhole is unpaved which can be better reached using 4x4 vehicle, though a 4x2 car can be used. If you wish to descend in the sinkhole, I suggest you to wear trail shoes suited for dusty and rocky environment that gives you added traction and support.

Haha! Random sinkhole out in the middle of nowhere! I don't know how they found it but its worth a visit because you can walk down inside it! Nothing special, would maybe take like 20- 30 minutes to walk down, take a few pictures and walk out!

The most profound sinkhole in Qatar. I've been working close to it for five months but could only visit on the last day of work. It's astonishing to learn that this was formed years ago and continues to endure. A captivating destination for those intrigued by the marvels of nature.

A lovely place to visit with your family, especially if you love to climb mountains. It's free, no tickets required. Be mindful of the loose handrail when about to descend the cave.

Only Natural sink hole in Qatar. One of the tourist spot in Qatar. Off- Road vehicle is required to reach this place. Better to go on day time. Because no lights were installed in this area. Take water bottle with you. No shows are nearby.

Nice to get out there again after many years... Unfortunately there is still no adequate signage, and what could be a local tourist attraction, is poorly maintained! Land fill nearby is encroaching on the Surrounding area.

It's kind of a cave but narrow and around 40 meters deep there's around 1.5 kilometers of off road from the main road where sedans are not accessible but a 15 to 20 min walk to the cave. The best time to reach during summer between 5 to 6pm its kind of normal temperature inside the cave during summer and really cold during winter time. I would recommend to take a really good flash light since its kind of dark inside and also you need to wear a really good shoes since its steep so there is a good chance that you will fall. You need to be really careful while going down and climbing up since its really deep.

A surprising natural sinkhole in Qatar that's worth a visit. It's a great spot for photography and even offers a small rock climbing. Although it's a small cave, it's a unique sight that you won't find elsewhere in Qatar. Getting there is easy; just follow the signs. However, if you do visit this beautiful location, please be mindful and refrain from writing names on rocks or leaving plastic waste behind.

If you get stationed at the Al Udeid this is definitely one of the places to add on the list. About 20 minutes commute time and a bit out of the way but any Uber should manage. The place was free and definitely stands out among the other attractions as an interesting piece of geography. Nice and quick if you don't have a lot of time here.

  • 4/5 Bobby A. 11 months ago on Google
A good place to take kids who like adventures. Authorities need to add more safety measures as the descend is more difficult than the climb back. It's a good thing that mobile toilets have been installed. Can easily be developed into an international tourism spot. The direction signs need to be correctly and significantly more visible than now as it is easy to get lost. It is advised to take enough water supplies and better to travel in a group. Trying to visit after sunset is not advisable.

From the road, you need to off road to reach the sinkhole. The place is fully fenced so can be spotted. Shoes are a must to get down. Was a nice experience. There is no water now but the temperature is cool as you get down. Walls are painted with graffitis.

To be honest, yes it's unique in Qatar but it's like a small cave (50 meters), nothing really special. But it's still a good excuse to go outside and see something different. Be aware that even if it's not deep, it can be hazardous.

I had visited this historic place twice with my friends. It is one of the best location with a clean surrounding and best place to explore. Dear friends please follow the map route correctly because there is chances to be diverted from the correct path and end up somewhere.Main thing to be taken care of is about the vehicle you use to travel. It is not necessary to have 4 wheel drive option vehicle, but the vehicle must have good ground clearance in order to keep your vehicle safe because you will face a off-road with big and small rocks to reach the Musfur Sinkhole. Be careful while you go down there is chances of been slipped and get injured. I suggest to visit this place during day time because it will help you to explore the place well and it is not safe at all to visit this place after sunset.
