Right across Souq Waqif's courtyard are four heritage houses turned into museums known as Msheireb Museums. It's free to enter. You can download the Msheireb Museums app so you can have a self-guided audio tour at the heritage houses. Along the tour you can stop by at Sogha gift shop, Empire Cafe, Al-Fai restaurant, Msheireb Museum Library. Friendly and competent staff in every house provide full information. Recommend visiting with children.

There are four museums. One, depicting a Qatari home changing throughout time. One telling the oil story of Qatar. One telling how slavery has influenced Qatar. One telling the story of a typical Qatari neighborhood that has changed due to technological, social and economic development.

In the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the oldest part of the Capital is where you can find the preserved Historic Cultural Houses, the Msheireb Museums, that cover the genuine history and rich culture of Qatar. It has four houses that each showcase different stories and use a combined strategy of technology and natural resources to bring out the ancient stories in the present. It contains artifacts in the old days and superb architectural designs that demonstrate the beauty of Qatar’s culture and the growth of its economy. The four Heritage Houses are: Mohammed Bin Jassim House – Portrays traditional values and the transformation of Msheireb through time. Company House – Tells the story of success on Qatar’s first oil discovery. Bin Jelmood House – Provides extensive knowledge and awareness about slavery and human exploitation over thousands of years, and how Qatar has been part of it. Radwani House – Lets you experience traditional Qatari life during the old days. It has actual representation on each specific part of the house which displays how Qatari life was being practiced. What to expect in the Msheireb Museums: Row of rooms designed with smart technology that delivers brilliant visual and audio presentations that take your imagination to the actual scene.Collections of artifacts, relic and treasured antiques. Unique graphic chart of Qatar’s oil discovery designed with machine bars and cable that let you navigate through eachseries .Actual excavation site where archaeologists work during the discovery of the artifacts displayed at the Museum. The houses are separated approximately 1-2 minutes away by walking and the staff are more than happy to lead you toward each houses. Comfortable bench and sitting areas for taking rest. Timings and Location: Opening times for the museum is from Monday- Thursday, 9 AM – 5PM and Friday, 3PM – 9PM, and Saturday, 9AM – 9PM. Drive through Bank Street/ Grand Hamad Street and take a left turn after Al Fardan Exchange Qatar. Glide on your way up to Ali Bin Abdullah Street and take the first right turn. Keep straight up to Al Asmakh Street then take the first left turn. From there, you can see the Mshereib Museum. Alternatively it is exactly behind the Grand Mosque, near to Souq Waqif too. To save all the hassle, look on Google Maps or use these GPS 25.2869077,51.5283125 coordinates.thanks Md Nahid Islam

I would recommend people to start their Qatar exploration journey from this place. As a proud resident of this country I only discovered this jewel of a place very recently; however, to all tourists, residents, and citizens even ... don't disregard visiting this museum as a first step into enriching yourself with the Qatari culture... and don't pass it quickly ... I would suggest not less than half an hour for each site in the museum. Qatar has many glamorous museums which showcases the Architecture of modernity while keeping the legacy and heritage; however, call me an old timer but I would pick this museum over the Qatar National Museum ... sorry in advance 😁

We had a tour for this museums. There were 30 ladies in the group. We visited only two houses because of time constraint, but nevertheless it was very informative. There are 4 houses that was changed into museum. The company tells us the story of how qatar started oil exploration and the working condition for the staffs. This house is where the staffs come once a month to collect their pay and see their families. We also visited Radwani’s house which show how the houses changed from 1930s until now. Quite informative. Will definitely see the other museums on another day. The museum staffs were helpful and provide good insights during the tour.

Located within the oldest part of the capital, it forms an important part of Qatar's national history. It reveals unique aspects of cultural and social development in Qatar to create reliable environments in which the Qatari people participate, speak and exchange ideas about its past and future. Msheireb museums are an integral part of the city's inner renovation of the old commercial center with its traditional community-based style. Only one word can be used to describe this museum: vast! There is literally so much in this collection that you need more than one whole day to be able to see everything and take it all in. There is everything from rifles, knives, carpets, cars, old telephones, sporting memorabilia, furniture, musical instruments, the list goes on and on. The space in which they are all displayed is massive, it goes on and on! The only downside is, that quite a few of the exhibits have no English translation as to what they are so I was left wondering what some of these items were actually for.

This is one of the great museum that I ever visited in Qatar. Located outside of Doha or around 20 minutes from Education City, we can explore many kind of collection from Islamic Arts such as textile, jewelry. Moreover, we can see the weapon from Century to Century from Middle East and Asia. The most interesting as well is the car collection from year to year. In one of room section, we can see the Dinosaurus's head and bones. The entrance fee for this museum is 50 QR. Happy explore.

Good place if you want to know more about the life of Qatar before the past decades. This museum consists of 3 houses - with 3 different focuses. The history of transforming this place after discovering the oil is presented well.

Cool winter vibs cafes and a great measum that talks about the journey of the African peoples migration and how they became a part of the Arabian gulf society. The measum is called (Bin jalmoud) plus walking to the old souk is a breeze form there

The sign board to the museum's and clarity of which house is where is not easy to find. All good individual houses were good but there too way finding was little tricky. House of slavery was the best. But it is good to know which is biggest and how much time is required or else you cannot estimate how to plan your time in each

I went here two years ago and recently went here few weeks ago. Personally, on my most recent visit i wasn't abke to visit all of the 4 museums, for I did not have not enough time. If you want to visit all the museums, do make sure you have a lot of times. A good place to come to with your family/kids. In my opinion, the museum about oil and gas history was my most favorite. This is because it also has a theater you could watch in and more things that your child can interact with. I won't be coming here anytime soon, but it is a good place! Overall, I totally recommend! Interesting experience!!

So nice place and deserves the visit. Jalmood house presents important features of slavery and many documentary videos about slaves trading in this gulf area. There are another 3 houses to document different eras of qatar state. Thanks for the great efforts to make this heritage great village. Special thanks for sheikha Moza for her effort to support this work. All workers there are nice and helpful. Free parking and free access to all the houses.

The museum is mostly about old Doha. There is also a section on history of slavery in Qatar, as well as one avout the discovery of oil. There are not too many items of display, but the information is presented in an interesting way.

Very nice museums where I was presented in nutshell the history and culture of Qatar. The best part I liked was about giving insight in the period of the oilfield discoveries and part about the modern slavery.

We went for a school field trip to this museum where there was a workshop from WISE about entrepreneurship. Lovely atmosphere, very nice hosts and people, bathrooms are small but clean and tidy. Although I didn't come for the museum and its history we did get some peeks at it while walking to the workshop and it looked enticing.

An excellent collection of 4 Qatari homes of old repurposed into a fascinating museum showing everything from Qatar's past including a terrific history of Indian Ocean slavery through the formation of Qatar as an independent nation to the future. A great afternoon of history (I spent over 4 hours). And then a very sort walk to Souk Waqif.

First and foremost, parks provide a haven of relaxation and recreation. They are places where families can gather for picnics, children can play, and individuals can find solace in nature. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, parks offer a serene escape, allowing us to unwind, breathe fresh air, and connect with the natural world. Parks also play a critical role in promoting physical and mental well-being. They offer space for exercise, whether it's jogging, cycling, or simply taking a leisurely stroll. These activities are not only good for our physical health but also contribute to reducing stress and anxiety, fostering better mental health.

Four museums, you can visit free of cost to learn a whole lot about Qatar. Closely located next to each other and right in front of Souk Waqif so, great location overall. I would recommend visiting.
