Definitely a must see while in Barcelona, Spain. I’d recommend doing a bit of research on the history of this Roman Catholic Church before visiting so you can grasp exactly what you are seeing and experiencing. Buy your tickets in advance if you can. Allow at least two or three hours to explore. Expect lots and lots of people, the crowd can be overwhelming especially on a hot day. The views of the city from the top are breathtaking. The Basilica is gorgeous and so beautiful you don’t even know where to look because your eyes will be darting from here to there and everywhere. Photos are nice to look at but it doesn’t compare to being inside and seeing for yourself. A truly amazing experience.

Must visit. Our guide said we had really good sun that day so it really depends on the good weather to enjoy the kaleidoscope colours illuminated into the church! If you like cool colours like blue and green, come in when the morning light shines. If you like warm colours of autumn, come towards sunset timings. Suggest to join the tour to learn the significance of each structure. It looks complicated n stern but is filled with symbolism and stories. Wonderful.

Iconic place and absolutely breathtaking. We visited here nearly 12 years ago and went inside for a proper visit. This time last week was a quick pit stop to admire the cathedral. I highly recommend that you pre-book a ticket if you plan to visit properly. It's very crowded outside the cathedral considering it's the off peak season and I can't imagine when it's in peak season.

It will be interesting to see this masterpiece after all construction completed. Hopefully, I can visit it again. Really amazing and different. Highly recommended. Tickets are pricey though. When you are inside be careful with the number of photos you take. We were advised not to take more than 5 because we were in a holy place (not sure where they take this from). Buy your tickets online and in advance. Visiting towers are not really necessary. Though if you’re after good views of the city try them. Please note that ascending towers are easy (using elevator) but descending them is a bit different. If you afraid of height or have problems with confined spaces then this is not recommended for you.

Worth the admission price. Absolutely stunning. We went in the morning but I was told later to try for the last slot in the afternoon as the colours are different and better due to the angle of the sun. Very impressive cathedral and nice to just sit and take it all in. The app included in the ticket price was very informative of the construction. Going up in the tower was arguable not worth the extra price. It gives a great view of mostly a construction zone. All in all very good experience and I'd happily say it's a must do in Barcelona.

A must see venue when you're in Barcelona! You can buy tickets in advance or the same day. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to enjoy the architecture and the gift shop. Just go and enjoy half a day there! You won't regret it. The knowledge you gain from learning about the history of the church is amazing.

Most beautiful building ever seen in all of my life! You need to see the inside. Booking in advance is recommended, in high season it is needed. One day in advance will usually do. Recommend to go in the early evening or late afternoon as the light is more beautiful inside. Access to a tower costs a bit extra but is worthwhile doing.

Visited the place earlier and it was a wonderful experience to observe the architecture and detailing around the building. It's a real piece of art and admire the work done so far. Did not get chance to get the ticket to enter as no tickets were available at the counter. It is always advisable to book in advance if you are planning to visit the place. There are many good food choices around. Overall great experience and a must visit place while in Barcelona.

If you come to Barcelona, go here! It might feel like a hefty price tag for a cathedral entrance in Europe, but it is 100% worth it! The church is gorgeous outside, but the superstar is the inside. It literally took my breath away. Huge and clean and with capacity restrictions, it doesn't feel packed full of people.

It's definitely worth visiting this place. Architecture is amazing. Go have a closer look at the exterior. Each and every object has more detailed work and a story behind it. It's still under construction and planning many more to the existing architecture, and the interior looks so amazed and beautiful. It's worth visiting this place in Barcelona.

It's different than any church I've been to. Gaudí's unfinished project for sure is the most impressive church of all time in my idea. Meanwhile I was not happy with the fact that we could only see one floor of this massive architecture. It costs 26 to 30 euros to get inside and you can only one floor. I am a great fan of museums and historical places but I think if I knew beforehand that only this small section of the church is open to public visit, I wouldn't have bought the ticket. Because you can enjoy the beauty of the building from outside of the church near the road as well.

Loved it here. A real stand out in Barcelona. Book tickets via the app before going. We did not and had to do this on the fly outside. Worked OK, but would have been better before. Building is amazing in both scale as you wonder around and also in the attention to detail. People were extremely friendly and a highlight in the city.

One does not need to post yet another review of how incredible the architecture is of this basilica. You could probably spend hours looking at the various sculptures on the facade but the inside is equally as impressive. A view from the top of the passion Tower made it worth the wait. If you catch the inside at around 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon the sun shines brightly through the stained glass and makes for incredible pictures.

This church is the greatest masterpiece of the famous architect Gaudi. This church is very different from all the churches you have ever seen. While it is beautiful, it is very strange and different. One of the most important places in Barcelona when visiting is a must see here. It is better to get a ticket online beforehand as you may not be able to buy a ticket to visit the same day. Of course, there is a ticket office next to the entrance.

Obviously worth a visit, at least to see the outside. It’s an amazing structure. We almost didn’t go inside, but had some extra time in Barcelona so went I side. Really beautiful. Can see what is left to be built, watch documentary about construction, see early ideas for church. It’s pretty neat.

This church was breathtaking. The architecture was incredible. Additionally, they really put a lot of thought and detail into the museum exhibits. Definitely pay extra for one of the tower tours, I did the Passion Towers and it was so worth it! You could see beautiful views of the city. However, don't do a tower tour if you have mobility challenges because it's very steep.

TALK ABOUT DRAMA! This was the absolute most breathtaking church I've ever experienced. Every single detail has a purpose. You will spend a few hours here, and the guided audio tour was very informative. From the dramatic sculptures outside to the glorious stained glass inside, there's so much to see. If you are going up the tower be prepared for a slightly claustrophobic walk down tight spiral stairs. You don't have to worry about the dress code unless you are going in mass. I absolutely loved this experience, and can't wait to see it once it's all finally finished.

This is absolutely unique place in the world! It worth its money for visiting inside. This is immaculate place, you just don’t want to go. There is a huge gallery inside, furniture museum and beautiful souvenir boutique, exactly boutique :) Everything is so clean and spacey. Good and free toilets inside Take the audio with the ticket to get all the information calmly, to find out the every detail of the building. Also there is a blessing organ music And one more thing, you have to pass a full check of hand baggage you have, like customs in the airport. Great location, you can come by subway

The “Bible of Stone”! This was actually my absolute favorite attraction in Barcelona! I would recommend strongly to book a tour with a guide. The information about this place seems bottomless and I just loved discovering all the Bible stories in the facade of the building. It’s such a beautiful building and I spend a long time marveling at it from the outside and then the same at the inside. It’s just absolutely breathtaking!!! My absolute favorite church that I’ve ever visited and I’ve seen quite a few famous churches!

Keeping it short: If it’s the only attraction you visit in Barcelona, make it this. Book your ticket online in advance. Take the guided tour, it’s just 4 euro more and so worth the history. Come in golden hour, either morning or late afternoon to see the lighting hitting the coloured glass and reflecting onto the wall. Access to tower is closed now due to COVID but still worth to visit.

Breathtaking experience. You expect a classical church but this is completely different. Modern and classical art combined. No boring golden altars or statues but brilliant architecture and philosophy of a genius. The best monument i have ever visit. The 45 min audio guide (there is also an 25 min express option) is a very inspiring and extremely informative enabler. I fully recommend it, it makes the experience complete and gives you all the astonishing context to really enjoy this piece of art.

Visiting ? this place requires planning and advance bookings. Please research online to avoid disappointments. There is always a huge crowd. The architecture and size and scale is simply breathtaking. And I keep wondering why can't they finish building the church after so many years. Anyway, it is a MUST-SEE in Barcelona. Words can't describe, just get there and soak it up.?❤️ I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day. Amazing collosal cathedral, my favourite part turns out to be the Eastern facade, dedicated to the Birth of Christ. Absolutely beautiful sight, pure art. The statues are full of grace and what i especially liked was the cypress tree with white doves, that is unique to a church. The other masterpiece that I saw were the three gates on this facade, a work of a Japanese master. Simply amazing.

One of the most beautiful building I have ever seen. And the story behind is amazing. I was heard the name of the church in the Alan Parson's Project's song at first when I was a child. Then after long time I had a chance to visit the building. Details of the building are incredible. A MUST visit for all humankind.

Probably the most beautiful stained glass windows I have ever seen in any building, hands-down !!! Mesmerizing and even though you will take many pictures, your pictures will not give Justice to what you are witnessing with the human eye. I recommend going around 3 o’clock to capture the best illumination from the sun

Perhaps the most spectacular Church ever built (and still under construction expected to be completed by 2026), designed by Antoni Gaudí. Completely mesmerized by this masterpiece. Truly blessed to have seen this marvel. We spent a great deal of time walking around and exploring this masterpiece. There are so many amazing things to see here that that it was truly worth half a day.

Absolutely beautiful. So breathtaking. For planning purposes, make sure to buy tickets 2 months in advance, so that you can get a spot! We bought the ones that included the Passion Tower and the basilica. Would highly recommend going in the afternoon to early evening (we went around 3:45pm in the winter and the sun rays coming through were perfect). Highly recommend climbing to the top-- there are perfect views of Barcelona and there's way less people up there. Note: Visited in Jan 2020 but catching up on reviews because- COVID.

I guess this is the place with words or pictures that can’t describe the whole experience. We had to prebook 2 days ahead to get the guided tour and the guide was very good and funny. The church is the soul of Barcelona even its being built for 100 years and still not finished. I love the light and the tree columns inside. Will certainly come back maybe when it’s finally finished!

You already know how amazing this was. I wasn’t that excited about going to “another cathedral,” but this was totally different. It was modern and more a work of science than art. I mean so cool. You have to go when the sun is coming through the glass. Get the free audio guide downloaded onto your phone. It’s really enlightening.

AMAZING. Breath taking. Unlike any church I've ever been to. Most of the old churches I've visited are dark and heavy. This one is light and airy. Inspired. The architect's use of natural light and influences from nature are genius. I thought the audio guide could have gone deeper into the history and details. There's really not much to the tower tour. You basically just go up and down. You get a few glimpses of the basilica from a different vantage point. But that's about it. The stairs are narrow and winding. Might be difficult for some people. I think we spent 3-4 hours just waking around, again and again. Then just sitting and being still in this magnificent space. Highly recommend. Get your tickets in advance.

We booked an audio tour via Get My Guide, which included entrance ticket. Absolutely incredible, such an impressive work of architecture! The audio tour itself was very good, around 45 minutes long, and guided you around the cathedral inside and out. The history, art and symbolism were very interesting, and the light through the stained glass inside the cathedral doesn't translate through the photos, absolutely stunning. There was a museum built underground which you go to at the end of the tour, lots of interesting photos and scale models, gives you an appreciation for the amount of work had been put into this building. Would absolutely recommend, nothing else like it in the world.

Absolutely stunning! We were fortunate to be greeted by a police officer who gave us a private tour. The panoramic view was amazing, and the surrounding area is easy to walk to see more landmarks. It's lovely strolling the streets of Barcelona. Go there, explore, experience the culture, and cross it off your bucket list!

It's incredible and incredibly beautiful. If you come to Barcelona, you should definitely plan to visit the Sagrada Familia. It's best to buy tickets online so that you can get in and be sure of your preferred time. The best time, in my opinion, is in the afternoon, when the sun shines through the windows and the colours come into their own. A visit to the towers is also recommended. We went up the passion tower and had a great view to the ocean side and sun setting.

Massive & fascinating. But with combination of new and old somehow does not fit all together as one piece for me. I’ve enjoyed other Gaudi’s works in the city way more. Also without possibility to go to the towers it’s loosing a chance to grasp how massive the construction really is. One last point - we had tickets to 17.15 and we barely managed to go through before security started to push us out with “closing in 10m”. Definitely book online from official store in advance.

One of the coolest place to visit. You need to buy tickets online or you will not make inside of the place. This is must see place if you are in Barcelona. The architecture work hands the best I ever seen. This place once you visit it you will never forget it. I love glass color windows that make the place so elegant. Would totally recommended the audio guide so you appreciate the whole structure! :)

The most beautiful monument to see in Barcelona. You have to see it, from outside but especially from inside it’s just amazing. The ticket costs a bit but it’s easy to find discounts or days where it’s for free. Just to say for the people who may not know the church is unfinished, it should be over for the year 2026.

Barcelona’s standing as a world tourist destination relies heavily on Antoni Gaudí’s Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, or Sagrada Família − the temple is the most popular tourist attraction in the city, with over two million visits a year. But this year 2021, covid-19 stopped us all from entering inside. I have the inside photos of 2018 which I never posted, but today I am sharing them with you

This is an amazingly designed architectural piece of art! I especially loved the beautiful stain glass windows inside the Basilica. The Biblical references in the artwork on the outside are also very interesting. The organ is breathtaking... also 1,500 pipes!! absolutely amazing , specially now that is less crowd and you can visit everything without the rush . first i am recommending to book your ticket in advance via official web of basilica to could visit with real price and do not stand in a line . the best time to visit the basilica is in the morning , bucease the basilica has been designed in away that in the morning the sun is toward the windows with happier colors and in the afternoon sun is toward the windows with a sad colors and inside would be very depressing. This is definitely a must see when you’re in Barcelona. We didn’t go inside but just to look at the outside is amazing, definitely something you need to do! The queue to go inside was long which was why we didn’t go in, but I’m sure you can pre book online.

Marvelous! I cried when I saw it and also when I went inside. The construction started 139 years ago and it is still going today. It is expected to be finalized in <10 years. The basilica is the biggest one in Europe and it was Antoni Gaudi’s life work until he died at 74 years old. In the last few years of his life, he dedicated his time exclusively for the basilica, despite having several other projects that brought him good money (houses for the rich). The basilica has 3 facades, all portraying important scenes from the life of Jesus. Gaudí was a big fan of nature and his nature laitmotifs are found all across the basilica. It will be 172,5m tall which makes it 0,5m shorter than the biggest hill in Barcelona. Because Gaudí thought nothing manmade should ever surpass the creation of God. Beautiful story and really well done with an audio guide. 10001% recommended!

You can only buy your tickets online. There is a QR code outside the entrance and free wifi for you to buy using your phone. The audio guide can also be downloaded with the official app. The interior is very beautiful and the exterior has also seen some progress in the works since my last visit in 2013. However, I find the entrance fees to be quite steep. This is definitely one of the must-see attractions when visiting Barcelona.

A truly "wow" experience. From the outside, you truly feel like you're standing at a monument of man. Even with a lot of tourists, the facilities are made to handle it and security is top notch with back scans and metal detectors. You feel safe. Once inside your "wow" experience turns into one of true awe. The colored glass, the massive pillars, the religiousness, the details assaulting your eyes at every turn is amazing. Worth every second and penny.

Holds mass on Sunday in the cathedral. Interesting architecture. Some love it, some not. Take the audio or human guided tour. Sunny days are best to view the stained glass. The museum below gives more facts if this place interests you. For a different experience, take an elevator up one of the towers and walk down a winding, narrow rock staircase of 400 steps. The nativity vs passion tower tour is inconsequential. Both of those stories are told from the outside while looking at the facades. The interiors of the towers seem the same. On the far side of the C gate, beyond the pond, is more shade and benches as you wait for your tour time. Enter your gate 15 minutes ahead of your tour time to allow for security check and finding your destination.

Rightfully the biggest must see or visit attraction in Barcelona. Absolutely stunning church which is beautiful on both the inside and outside. After traveling throughout Italy, France and Spain, this was by far the greatest thing I have seen. The scale is unimaginable and the originality was unmatched. It is an experience unlike any other. I would highly recommend doing the longer audio guide as it is extremely well done including additional views and perspectives you couldn’t otherwise have. I personally spent a bit over 3 hours to see everything including the museum and school house. I would highly recommend going for a bit after sunrise or a bit before sunset as the sun through the stained glass is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Stunning example of Architecture even if it is not finished yet. Be ready to find lots of people in front trying to take pictures from the outside. If you want a better shot and with less of a crowd, go a few meters back, inside the park and you will be able to get some nice photos there. Easy to find and to get there, as it is with most things in Barcelona, with their very well designed public transportation links. I did not want to pay to get in as there is too many other attractive and free sights to visit while in the city. For anyone spending a few days there, or even a day, make sure you pay a visit to this beautiful cathedral

The Basílica de la Sagrada Família, also known as the Sagrada Família, is a large unfinished Roman Catholic minor basilica in the Eixample district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Designed by Spanish/Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, his work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

La Sagrada Familia is one of Gaudí's most famous works in Barcelona. It's a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882 (that's not a typing error!) and it's not expected to be completed for some time yet.

(Translated by Google) The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia is the most famous work and the most ambitious project of Antoni Gaudí, brilliant Catalan architect This masterpiece of Art Nouveau with revolutionary architecture and strong symbolism has become over the years the emblem of Barcelona, just as the Eiffel Tower represents Paris, Big Ben: London and the Statue of Liberty: New York. Whether you are a believer, an atheist or an agnostic, you cannot fail to experience a highlight at the Sagrada Familia. Walk around the block and admire all corners of this building. Or better even, go and sit by a restaurant nearby and enjoy the view. A building of so many layers of architecture was breath taking. I thought the design on the outside was more engaging than the inside only because it really really captured my attention longer 😅 such incredible building in the middle of a busy city.

This place is just so impressive. The architecture is amazing and the detail is just mind-blowing. It's absolutely worth the €26 for the tickets! I recommend listening to the audio guide through the app. There's so many facts and details that I would have missed had I not done that. If you're visiting Barcelona, you absolutely have to come here.

One of the most awe inspiring structures I've had the pleasure of viewing. Gaudi's architecture is absolutely amazing, both inside and out. Inside the cathedral also contains a pretty robust museum that gives a lot more context to the building, which was very helpful for us since we came in without a lot of prior research. Definitely buy tickets in advance, this place was packed even in a Tuesday afternoon.

Easily the most famous place in all of Barcelona. It's definitely worth going inside - just make sure it's on a sunny day so you can enjoy the amazing stained glass windows. Don't miss to visit the museum located below the basilica just before the exit.

The most iconic building in Barcelona hands down!!! Be sure to book your tickets in advance to make sure you get to go the day you want. We booked a couple days in advance, you do it online. That way you can quickly go through the line as well! There's security throughout making sure people wear their masks. Every angle of this building is gorgeous, you'll spend about an hour here at least. We did the entry with audio, but the audio app wouldn't work. So we just walked through & read the signs.

This place is absolutely amazing. There is nothing you will ever see like this again. Gaudi was certainly one of a kind. His imagination had to have no end. His art is mystifying. It’s enigmatic. And it makes you experience world in unique way.

This cathedral is unreal. It’s definitely the biggest structure in the city and it looks that way up close. It has some construction going on but because of its size you can’t even tell. If you want a good pic of it definitely get it from the lake nearby. The inside is beyond amazing - the pictures don’t do it justice. While you do pay a hefty fee to get in there’s another fee you pay if you want to go to the top - 120 meters high - to get views of the city. A must try experience for anyone visiting for sure

The most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen! Even though it is not fully done yet, it is incredibly interesting to look at, I highly recommend it! You can get an audio guide before entering, which I would highly recommend as well. Look carefully at the facade and the windows or basically just anywhere because no matter where your gaze goes, you will see something new! Truly a masterpiece, the pictures can't really capture that feeling though.

We toured the basilica with the Julia travel agency. The basilica in itself is absolutely stunning in its story and architecture. We loved loved loved the details in all the sculptures and the idea behind it all. The effect of the stained glass windows on the inside is absolutely stunning. We just sat in the basilica after the tour and just took it all in for like over half an hour. An absolute honor to have been able to see this masterpiece in process first hand. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Just a heads up, it is crowded but that’s to be expected for such an iconic spot. 15/10 on my personal score card.

The audio guide is really helpful for understanding the history and design choices of the basilica. I would also recommend the tower accent! I went up the passion tower and it was stunning to see more of the architecture and detail that you couldn't see from below!

Exceeded my expectations. Pictures don't do it justice. We bought tickets ahead, and went when it opened. There was no waiting or crowds for the first hour. It was quite busy when we left, so glad we took the approach we did. Absolutely loved the free audio guide/app, it describes things like how Gaudi used nature as inspiration. The columns, for example, look like trees. The reflection of the colorful sunlight through the glass onto the floor, ceiling and columns is absolutely breathtaking. Don't forget the museum downstairs.

Pretty amazing place...level of detail is extraordinary. Interesting to see how it has developed over the years...and continues to be under construction. When it is done (if it is), it will be the tallest in the world. Suggest taking a tour or having the phone guided listening...points out things you wouldn't notice or know. Best to go early or later when the sun is lower in sky to get coolest lighting from the stain glass. The only mass is at 9:00am on Sundays...free to enter but you have to line up 2 hours early and they only accept the first 7000 people. Definitely a must see sight of Spain!

A must visit for first-time visits to Barcelona, amazing views inside and outside of this church. The windows artwork is mesmerizing. You should choose a relatively sunny day to enjoy the lights and colours throughout the basilica. Try to reserve the tickets early and plan your trip ahead because the tickets get sold out really fast. Best light, from my opinion, is at dawn when the church fills up with colourful lights. DON'T FORGET TO BUY AND BOOK IN ADVANCE THE TICKETS

Well worth lining up and going through the security to go inside. No matter what religion, this is something everyone should see and experience as no photos do it justice. We were lucky enough to get the timing right and attended in the late afternoon, so the sun shining through the coloured glass windows was absolutely magical. You have to see it for yourself to truly understand the magnificence. Definitely download the app and listen as you go through.

La Sagrada Familia is an architectural masterpiece, with its beauty magnified by the intricate details. A local guide can significantly enhance your visit by explaining the architecture. The stained glass windows cast a beautiful display of colors inside on a sunny day, shifting from sunrise to sunset. The visit to the crypt is free, but there is usually a line for it. Remember to book tickets at least two weeks ahead; you can't buy them at the door. Also, it is a bit on the expensive side but worth it. Highly recommended for a memorable experience.

Can't really say in words how beautiful the building is inside. You must book tickets! We booked 5 days before our trip and could only get a standard tour ticket, would have loved to go up the tower. Our tour was at 9am on a Tuesday so slightly less busy inside but still lots of people around. It was beautiful with the morning sun hitting the glass. Our tour guild was lovely and went into a lot of detail about the building and the history behind it. You must visit

Beautiful and amazing work of art. Must be seen. Booked tickets via the app. I went to Barcelona with friends who aren't usually bothered about architecture and big buildings but were amazed when they saw it from outside and wanted to go inside. We downloaded the app and it details what tickets are available and when limited numbers are available with the 15min entrance time slots. We booked via the app and was inside the next hour. (This was the first weekend in December, imagine summer time needs more planning). It's amazing. The entrance ticket price is inclusive of an audio tour (audio unit is multilingual, change channel to your preference and comes with headphones). Bags are checked through a security scanner. Water (bottled drinks) are allowed into the building/tour. The building is amazing and there is a museum downstairs with more information, models and tools explaining how it was created and the life of Gaudi.

Its different. Architecture like food is very subjective to personal choice and I didn't find this beautiful in first. The style is definitely quite intriguing and grand. The best part is that the construction is still going on and was never stopped. I found the 26€ ticket quite expensive for this place however it is said that the construction is getting funded by this money so it's reasonable. The extensive security arrangements for this place were beyond understandable.

Breathtaking view on coming out of the metro and finding this directly outside. You can walk all around the outside to get different views of this magnificent building, but there are a few considerations… Firstly, as building work is still famously ongoing, there is a lot of metal cladding which blocks views close up. Secondly the ticket prices are extortionate! Sure, lots of people do pay to go in, but ticket prices are €26 each, and the little one didn’t want to go in, so the €78 cost was too high for us to shoulder (kids tickets aren’t cheaper at the time of writing this). Such a shame to be priced out of a world class attraction. Finally, if you do want to buy tickets and get a commentary etc, you have to download the app. If you arrive without knowing this, you will need to use mobile data, which may not be great for everyone. Then, judging from the queues, there is a long wait to go inside. So if you go, download the app (search Sagrada Familia) and buy tickets in advance to save your mobile data - but it won’t save you any cash I’m afraid. Great place to visit though, even if too expensive for some people like us to go inside.

Definitely impressive and worth a visit. With the entry ticket (which is quite expensive by the way) you can download an app where you have audio guides that talk you through the visit. The entrance closes around 20.00 so it's not worth going if you only have 30mins as a lot of areas will be closed. Unfortunately at the entrance or in the app they didn't say anything and they let us in right before closing time so we had to rush everything..

Stunning! You’ve heard about it, you know how it looks, you were bombarded (probably) with it’s pictures and you definitely must see this masterpiece. Just be sure that you buy in advance online tickets. Maybe I am wierd but to be hones, I don´t like it. Yes it´s impressive but it´s also unduly and confused. From one side beautiful, from other scary. It´s hard to get inside and it cost 26 euros (9/2021). You must visit it in your life, but I already saw better things.

Sagrada Família, the unfinished church is still unfinished in 2021. Need to purchase ticket on-line to obtain QR code so advise to have conection in the country if you are planning to enter. Upon entering, there is baggage check equivalent to airport. The view inside of church is spectacular and seems there is no construction going on at least the part that I can see.

You see pictures of this place and think yeah wow that’s beautiful! But oh wow. It’s SO beautiful. My husband wasn’t interested in going inside but when we arrived he changed his mind. Ha! It felt very peaceful inside and very clean. We did the Audiotour tickets on our phone and that was really cool. We had our three kids with us (2, 5 & 7) so I did the quick guide and it was still really helpful to connect deeper and then I listened and read to the full tour after. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the facility is the rude tourists walking around listening to the audio tour on their phones without headphones kind of kills the vibe. Also, there is a cool playground across the street if you need your kids to burn some energy off before or after. :)

Take pictures from the outside but save your money and avoid the inside. For the cost of admission I expected more. There is a self guided audio turn through the app but there's not much worth seeing. If you want to see what the inside looks like watch a few YouTube videos. They capture the right angles and lighting. It may be a work of art but it's best admired from a distance.

I have been to so many famous churches before, but this one was the first that made me think. I heard from my friends who visited this place before me that this is different than other churches. There are right. Incomparable. One thing which I disliked. Gaudi wanted to leave empty the field in front of the building. But the city management let the people build houses there.

If you only had a day to come to Barcelona, you can spend it here! Truly stunning and one of a kind and ever changing! It was unrecognizable from when I last came nearly 20 years ago. Both interior and exterior are awe inspiringly detailed and thoughtful. Feast for the eyes and so many things to take in. This was my second visit to the basilica and I appreciated it much more this time. Gaudi lived on the razor’s edge between genius and madman and he really went out there designing this church. But it is gorgeous in all its madness. I’ve been to many churches and eventually they start to look the same but not this one. It is different in every possible way and is still being actively worked on. I hope to get to visit the final completed church once more in my lifetime. The two most inspiring parts for me are the stain glass windows and the spiral staircases up the towers.

The highlight of barcelona. There are many churches and cathedrals in Europe and to be honest they are all pretty similar from the inside and outside. This one however was absolutely beautiful from the inside and outside. I think this is the best cathedral to see in the entire world. Massive and symbolic on the outside, colorful and beautiful on the inside. Unfortunately it doesn’t complete for a quite a while. Also know that there are tons of tourist trap restaurants right around the area. If you’re lucky you get to see the reflection pool too.

A must visit in Barcelona. I have been to many a gothic cathedral but this is like no other. The light and airiness that you feel inside is unbelievable. The outside is obviously a work of art and so intricate - I can't wait to revisit upon completion of the structure, hopefully by 2026 but now unlikely. That being said - the inside might be even more impressive to me than the outside. Definitely book your tickets ahead of time the lines are crazy!

Just an amazing building!! It's size is incredible, especially when you notice all the details that are carved into it. The colours and light are stunning, and even if you're not inclined to take photos - you've got to see it. There is an app where you can easily buy your tickets, and you can listen to their downloadable audio guide, which is available in a lot of languages. They also have tours given in person by guides, so you can do that if you prefer. It was really busy, even at my 10am slot so don't expect to get people free shots. The energy of this place is out of this world! I've seen many cathedrals, churches around the world that are super impressive and historic, but nothing compares to this one!

Amazing place. If you are for some reason in doubt - visit it, totally worth it the money. Download the official app (audio guide is there) before the visit and definitely buy tickets in advance, at least two days before the visit to choose better time slot. Best time - early morning or at around 18 (summer), because sun shines through western part of basilica (orange/red windows) and light inside is amazing! Towers are not very interesting, you get to city a bit of the city, but I would not go there again now, better wait it construction is finished.

  • 5/5 Alan R. 1 year ago on Google
Exception building. Tower tour was not great as you essentially get the lift up and walk down which takes about 7 to 8 minutes. The views from the top of the tower are great though. The basilica itself is amazing. Highly highly recommended!!

Amazing church with extensive details. Really enjoyed seeing the “bible in stone” - a very unique and smart way of storytelling with sculptures (compared to the more common way of paintings). The colors on either side were also very nice as they evoked starkly different emotions with the viewer. A must see!

From the outside, despite it’s imposing structure, the building looks like a drip sand castle. But this odd exterior belies an absolutely AMAZING interior that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in Barcelona. From it’s incredible build story (it’s not even done yet), to the fantastic color, structure, etc, I can’t recommend coming here more. Just remember to book your tour online several days (weeks) in advance if possible. The lines are long… and if you want to go up into the towers, you need to book that separately.

  • 5/5 Alvaro C. 1 year ago on Google
I've seen the monument many times, but it has changed so much since my last visit in 2007! The guided tour is highly recommended. You can visit the towers to have nice views of Barcelona.

I have never seen anything like the Sagrada Familia. It is an imposing structure so rich in detail and excellence that no photo or video can do it justice. It is something that has to be seen in person. A full two to three hours are necessary to be able to get a proper view of this magnificent structure and it is worth every single minute spent. Wear comfortable shoes, get an audio guide with your tickets and buy your tickets in advance, a good 10 to 15 days prior to visiting. A visit to one of the towers is also worth it. It is a long wait to go up, thankfully with an elevator, but you get a better and closer look of the structure and also great views of the city. The stairs that follow the visit to the towers are long and narrow, take your time. It was a great experience, I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

The main entrance is breathtaking but it looks like one big (never ending) construction site. 26€ entrance is very steep for the inside visit. You need to book in advance if you want to visit in the mornings as those tickets tend to disappear very fast. The site has its own app offering tickets and audio guides on your smart phone.

  • 5/5 Terry T. 9 months ago on Google
Even for a non-Christian, like myself, witnessing this stunning structure is a moving and inspiring experience. For the believer, I imagine it would be even more so. Be sure to download the site's app in order to follow the audio tour. It's free and well-produced. It will take about an hour or so to listen to each of the narratedmore so. It's a good idea to stop the narration every so often and just study and soak in all there is to see. Be advised that it will be crowded and filled with folks taking "influencer-style" photos as they pose like fashion models at different places. Church protocols do insist that visitors wear appropriate clothing and remove hats indoors. Because of the crowds, purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines. After leaving the church, take note of the park across the street. It is very pleasant, and vendors are there selling souvenirs and food. If you have time and notion to do so, do some simple online reading about the structure to enhance your visit. There are so many details about the place, the architect, history, and future plans that are difficult to absorb during your relatively short visit.

Wow! Incredible architecture of Gaudi. Its hard to get tickets on the same day. Please make sure to book in advance. Without visiting this cathedral, Barcelona trip is not complete. A lot of nice restaurants around the place to appreciate small details in his art work.

  • 5/5 Hollywood 1 year ago on Google
Stunning unfinished cathedral. The inside is the opposite of a normal „boring“ church and really brings a special beauty into this building. There is a reason why Gaudi is called one of the history‘s greatest architects. The whole concept is so creative that even I‘m not a big fan of churches was impressed and spent longer than expected here. Would also recommend the passion tower facade to climb.

  • 5/5 Ioannis T. 9 months ago on Google
Probably the most beautiful Christian church there is. Extremely well though and perfectly executed, brings modernism into life while also giving purpose to objects that otherwise wouldn't. It is just beautiful to be inside with how the lights dance around, it is a great symbol for the city and a great symbol of the greatness of Gaudi.

  • 5/5 Anna S. 7 months ago on Google
A great church! It is completely different and so nice. The church has a story and ideas behind the structure. Inside it feels so light, colorful, and open - even with all the materials. I CAN JUST RECOMMEND IT! The visit costs a bit but a MUST SEE! And you even get an audio guide with a 25 and 45 minute tour! We did the 45 minute tour to spend 1,5 hours inside and it didn’t feel like that long. As a recommendation: book an earlier ticket. We got to enter the church 30 minutes in advance(9:15 instead of 9:45) and at 10:00 it got pretty full and because of that the inside gets warmer and warmer.

  • 5/5 Preetam N. 7 months ago on Google
One of the most amazing architectures we have ever seen. Looks beautiful and almost alien like from the outside. Even more beautiful on the inside. A must visit if you're in Barcelona. Just make sure to buy the tickets in advance. We went first thing in the morning, which is what you want to do to dodge the crowds.

  • 5/5 Alexandru M. 7 months ago on Google
Words can’t describe the feeling when you first see this work of art. It is recommended to book your visit in advance (1 week) and buy your tickets online. I also recommend visiting it at night when there are way less people and you can contemplate its greatness.

  • 5/5 Jessica W. 7 months ago on Google
Truly even more beautiful in person! Take your time to look at the details. Lots of seating available around the edge or the middle which is great if you need a rest and to take the time to enjoy the surroundings. The information on the self guided tour is good but I think it would be worth doing a guided tour as the info is probably a bit more interesting. We went midday on a Thursday. Entrance was smooth and quick. It was busy but not jam packed. The security bit says no food or drink so we threw away our bottled water but it turns out we were allowed to take the water in with us. Book your tickets in advance as it is difficult to get them on the day - we booked ours 4 days before

  • 5/5 Ryan P. 7 months ago on Google
Really fantastic architectural design by Antoni Gaudi and several other artists. I was mesmerized by the scale of the work and would look forward to seeing the completed building project once it is fully finished. I would recommend to get your tickets and audio guide in advance.

  • 5/5 Euihyun L. 7 months ago on Google
It is a marvel of architecture. I hope you will experience the color of the interior of the cathedral changing according to the time of day. Exterior lighting for night view is turned on at 21:30. It is recommended to visit at night as the view at night has a different charm than during the day. A good photo spot is across the park's lake, opposite the entrance.

Amazing place to visit whilst in Barcelona. It was difficult to get tickets as they were sold out however do recommend purchasing them in advance. The place is amazing inside and out. I recommend going up the towers however coming back down via the stairs can be tricky but fun with more views and photo opportunities. Try it!

  • 5/5 Aris P. 7 months ago on Google
Definitely worth visiting. Is the most visited sight of the city for a valid reason! The architecture is unique. Each side has a different meaning and different style. It is recommended to have a guide with you to help understand the things and meanings of the sculptures.

  • 5/5 Anthony M. 5 months ago on Google

  • 5/5 Dezso N. 5 months ago on Google
The ultimate must see attraction in Barcelona! Very friendly and helpful staff. We bought tickets in advance, but we were a little late (more than 30 minutes). They helped us to get in without arguing. We are really appreciate they let us see this wonder!

  • 4/5 Mohammad E. 5 months ago on Google
This place a beautiful wonder. From a distance you can see how beautiful the building is. I'm giving it a 4 star simply because I didn't get the chance to see it from the inside as the ques were ridiculous, and we couldn't book online, as the tickets were sold out for all of our days in Barcelona. I highly recommend that you book your tickets as early as possible before reaching Barcelona.

  • 5/5 Gustavo S. 4 months ago on Google
A beautiful must-visit spot! I highly recommend ordering tickets online for quicker entry. Exploring one of the towers is a spectacular experience. Don't miss out on the audio guide to delve deeper into the history and architecture, which is truly mesmerizing. Very enriching.

One of the most spectacular places I've ever seen. Absolutely amazing and stunning. Can't speak highly enough of it. Go early. Book online. Get the guided tour. Go up the towers. The light through the stained glass windows is out of this world.

  • 5/5 Jessica W. 4 months ago on Google
This sacred place brought joy and wonder to my heart. The history. The art. The fact that I made a visit before it was even completed, even after 300 years of building just brought tears to my eyes. Take the guided tour. It's worth it. The knowledge you learn is just as valuable than just getting to look at it. To understand it is so important

  • 5/5 Andrei A. 4 months ago on Google
An architectural masterpiece. Gaudí's genius is evident in every detail. The interplay of light through the stained glass is mesmerizing. However, ongoing construction can be a drawback, affecting the overall experience. Plan your visit accordingly and buy tickets in advance for a captivating blend of art and spirituality.

No words can describe the feeling you get as you close in on this majestic building. You could spend hours gazing at the details in the facade. It’s a testament to old and new, how they come together in the similar styles, but yet different. Definitely worth visiting, at least on the outside if there are no tickets available. Buy your tickets at least 3-4 days in advance.

  • 4/5 Brendan F. 4 months ago on Google
It’s a breathtaking place, even under construction. The immense, ornate, and cleverly designed building does seem to emit a “come look at me” sensation. Sadly, you have to buy your tickets in advance so plan ahead by downloading their app, it’s the only way in. The whole area was filled with tourists and street merchants and “American” fast food places.

  • 5/5 Elitsa D. 3 months ago on Google New
look. The idea, the execution, the embedding of details and different flows of the modernist architect. A unique rendering of the story from the New Testament, providing in an amazing way pictures of the life of the Holy Family. Huge in its dimensions and ideas. It is perhaps the most impressive and unique building I have ever seen. A unique way of presenting the history of the cathedral through an app that is accessible to visitors even with their own headphones.

  • 5/5 Benjamin C. 3 months ago on Google New
This may be seen as a typical tourist attraction, but it is definitely a must visit if you are in Barcelona. The sculptures are extremely intricate, each one representing a different story and stained glass in the cathedral is stunning. Tickets are only sold online and would highly recommend to buy tickets before hand as you might not be able to buy them on the spot. Especially during weekends of holiday seasons.

  • 5/5 Asa B. 4 months ago on Google
All the photos don't prepare you for the majesty of this building. Quite simply magnificent. As for tips, BUY YOUR TICKETS I ADVANCE. You won't get in. Also buy an advance ticket to go up one of the two towers. We were advised Passion is best and It didn't disappoint. Not for the faint of heart! It is high, cramped and a test of nerve but the views are breathtaking. You can't take bags up the tower so make sure you have a one euro coin for the lockers. A lift takes you up but it is spiral stairs all the way down, so be fit enough to handle that.

  • 5/5 Cristina C. 3 months ago on Google New
Unmissable experience in Barcelona. Would recommend booking a tour guide in advance for the experience, as you get to listen to more of the history of the place. The trip to the towers is worth it, but bear in mind that the way up is by lift, and the way down is by foot (460 something steps). Very fun but also quite tiring.

  • 5/5 hila 4 months ago on Google
The place is truly unique and does not resemble any other church. You have to order tickets in advance and I highly recommend adding one of the church’s towers to your visit. You reach the top by elevator and go down by foot. When entering the place, there is an airport like security check and bags scan, but the process is very smooth

  • 3/5 lubieimbir 2 months ago on Google New
It's a beautiful place with stunning, breathtaking architecture. In an extraordinary way, the combination of stone, glass and light becomes a medium for aesthetic experiences, delights and reflections.. Unfortunately, it is very crowded, you have to be patient because the queue is quite long. Don't forget to bring headphones with you. An application that should guide you and assist you in learning about the building, it's architecture and symbolism does not always work well, the same applies to the Internet. I think this had a major impact on the overall impressions I had after the visit.

  • 5/5 Defi S. 3 months ago on Google New
Went back again with a friend who came to Barcelona. La Sagrada Familia has so many details and I recommend to have audio guide as it’s quite hard to catch so many details and the architecture genius! If you visit in the morning, the reflection of the red green glasses will appear, but as the sun moves and you came in the afternoon, the green-blue hues reflect instead! There is also an exhibition downstairs near the gift shop to know more about its history! And take picture from the park across so you can capture the whole magnificent building on your phone!

  • 4/5 Opeoluwa A. 3 months ago on Google New
Absolutely beautiful architecture. Cultural and picturesque in spectacular ways. Would recommend downloading the app for the audio tour. Helps gain good insights into the rich history. Definitely had an amazing time.

Wonderfully surreal interior, colourful, awe-inspiring, and magnificent! I had a mobility scooter and staff incredibly helpful and efficient. Be prepared for security checks going in. You must visit this spectacular site but make sure you book well in advance.

Amazing church with detailed carvings and pillars made of different stones. There are statues outside showing the last day of Jesus and his ascension. Beautiful stained glass windows illuminated the place. Since we went on a Sunday we were not able to go into the main church (a service was going on) and the crypt. Below is also a museum with scale models. If you can get tickets you can also go up one of the passion pillars and get a great view of the city and the statue of Christ ascending.

Absolutely breathtaking, I have never seen anything like it! The immense amount of thought behind every little detail is incredible, the audio guide was really good for getting all the information. About the different colours of the mozaïek, the pillars and the statues. We did not go up the towers so I can’t say much about that, however the cathedral is truly amazing and I really recommend buying tickets in advance online.
