Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center also previously known as Fanar or Qatar Islamic Culture Center and Spiral Mosque. Represented by cultural organization in Doha and is located next to Historic Souq Al Waqef. It is also right on the corniche. It can be seen as a iconic landmark from all over the place. It is a must visit site especially for tourists where they get a chance to know bit about the local customs and culture. The design is so beautiful than one won’t forget it. They have a paid parking next to it. As it is situated at a very busy place.

Al Fanar masjid is a state of the art mosque designed beautifully from outside as the manarat spirals towards the top, from inside its a simple structure defined by the local culture. The ground floor has a cultural experience exhibition filled with historic islamic books and events. The first floor has a mini Library with offices on the top floors. Shops and other retail stores are spread across the floors. Plenty of parking space is available. Must visit for praying!

Great place to visit. Very interesting to learn more about Islam and the Muslim culture of the past and today. Very friendly staff there, I felt immediately home. They gave me clear explanation about the Arabic culture and religion. The virtual reality tour was awesome to do. This place is central located and easy to find. Many languages available for reading the texts and to take some literary with you.

This is the Islamic Cultural Center as well as a mosque and very distinctive and recognizable from the outside. There are culture and language classes available as well as the chance to ask any questions you have about Islam. Additionally, you can set up tours through them to other mosques of note in the city. Very helpful. Great experience.

Al-Fanar Islamic Cultural Center is one of the most widely known architectural landmarks in Doha. In this wedding-cake shaped building, non-Muslim visitors are offered extended as well as crash-courses on the Islamic faith. It offers a variety of educational, yet unforgettable, activities, such as exhibitions, tours of the cultural center, visits to the mosque, Arabic language courses and the unique opportunity to attend the khutbah (Friday sermon) in English. The center is happy to meet the visitor before the prayer to explain mosque etiquette, the dos and don’ts.

Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center (commonly known simply as Bin Zaid, also known previously as Fanar or Qatar Islamic Culture Center and Spiral Mosque) is a cultural organization in Doha, the capital of Qatar. It is located close to Doha Corniche and is a prominent landmark in the city. The center's most distinguished feature is its mosque which has a unique minaret design. Prior to 2009, Fanar's mosque was the largest in the country. It has since been over taken in this category by Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque, however, it remains the tallest mosque in Qatar.
