Beautiful place to spend time with friends and family. Island is connected with a bridge where vehicles are not allowed, we need to walk almost a kilometre distance. While walking we can see mangroves on both side and clear water. There are fishes also. Better to go in winter times. Beautiful view is sunset, watching above the small mountain. Usually moderate crowded place. It's better to take water with you, because there is no nearby shops to buy essential items. AL Bayt Stadium can be seen from here.

The good: beautiful mangrove trees, water and nature. You park your car & then walk along a wooden bridge that takes you to the island. The bad: the island itself doesn’t have much going on, there are some mud mounds to have a higher view point but climbing them is not easy, there are no proper steps, there are no facilities, toilets or even benches to sit down on. The last part of the road & parking area is all unpaved with big potholes/mud so an SUV is highly recommended.

Purple Island is just a forty minute drive from Doha. The approach to the island is across a wooden bridge which serves as a foot-path. Vehicles can be parked in front of the bridge. The walk across the bridge is less than a kilometre. Mangroves can be found on both sides which teem with birds, flowers, fish and crabs. The island has many hills all around. Some of these extend to the shores of the inland sea. The view of the setting sun is worth the journey.

New walking bridge is built. Good place to take photos and spend with family. Kayaking is available and per adult it is Qr.200. Beautiful place to watch sunset. No toilet facilities available but dustbins are there.

If you’re feeling exhausted, this is one of the best and a must-visit places in Qatar to loosen up. You can walk or cycle around Purple Island. Before reaching the island, you will be welcomed by a nice walkway bridge enough to elevate the experience.

Good for a day visit, nothing like typical island but children may enjoy hiking some small elevations and greenery around

One of the beautiful places in Qatar that you don't wanna miss. The scenery of the mangroves in combination with the sea and wet land makes the place memorable and peaceful. You can take good photos also, the location is best for that. It is well maintained. There are no stores or any other facilities nearby. The bathrooms were locked. You have to park your vehicle and walk to the destination (walking on the bridges is the best part that I loved). Around 10 min walking is there. But it's worth it.

Far from the town... Sandy and Bumby road just approx 2 KM before the place... Small pond or Backwaters with Green plants around... You can feel refreshing... During winter you can visit anytime from morning to evening but during summer it's a perfect place to visit during evening and enjoy the sunset from the rock hill... You can get beautiful scenic photos here... Just enjoy the nature...

Purple island is a nice place to visit when in Doha. A bit out of the way (50mins from Doha) it's an easy drive and you're rewarded with mangroves and vegetation in the desert. Like most things around here it's pretty underwhelming, but a visit in jan-feb is worth it for the breeze, the smell of the sea and the nice walk on the bridge and on the island. Worth a trip when there. Clean and nit very crowded.

Purple Island is a hidden gem in the heart of Qatar, and it is one of my favorite places to visit in the country. The island is a natural wonder, with stunning landscapes, lush greenery, and serene surroundings, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers. The island is easy to access, and there is ample parking available nearby. Once you arrive, you can rent a bike or take a leisurely stroll around the island to explore its beauty. The mangroves on the island are especially impressive, and they provide a tranquil environment that is perfect for relaxation and reflection. One of the things that I love about Purple Island is the various activities available for visitors. You can go kayaking, fishing, and even crabbing, which is a unique and exciting experience. The island is also an excellent spot for picnics, and there are several designated areas with tables and benches where you can enjoy a meal with friends and family. The island is well-maintained, and the facilities are clean and in good condition. The staff is friendly and always willing to help, and they provide helpful information about the island's history and ecology. Overall, I highly recommend Purple Island to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway in Qatar. The island's natural beauty, fun activities, and excellent facilities make it a must-visit destination.

Went there to be away from the city lights as i was planning some photography night out shooting some star trails and a meteor shower. That plan went well and i roamed around the place all night. But it was when the morning light arrived that i had noticee the beauty of the place. So green around with the water also in turquoise tint. A lot of mangroves thrive well in the area. Totally the area is a real gem of Qatar. Very close to nature.

Good place to visit with family as well as bachelor More improvement is required by government towards maintenance and development. Very pleasant time can spend here due to science of nature Can go more inside sea as their is no deep for a long Only one problem is, stones crabs 🦀 (very small) will be their in water. Be careful about it No food is available, so need to take all necessary things Night stay also possible lights. Make sure about lighting arrangements

Different face of a dessert nation. Lush mangrove forest and beautiful sunset. The walking through the wooden bridge is a ‘feel good’ attraction . Kayaking is available up on booking. Scope of tourism not exploited well.
