I attended ASD my entire educational life (from pre k to high school) before graduating in 2003. ASD offers high quality education that prepares a student for college in the US and elsewhere. They graduate students who are well equipped to attend Ivy League universities. The school prides itself on a diverse environment that is all about tolerance and respect. They teach children how to think, how to express their opinions, how to be speak in public, and how to debate. Love for the environment was also emphasized. I am always nostalgic for its annual events such as Friendship Festival and International Day. One downside is that the curriculum dwelled too much on US history and US politics rather than on world history. I found all that information irrelevant for non-Americans. The Arabic language curriculum was also comparatively weaker than the English language. Overall, I am giving it five stars because this school shaped my love for learning and prepared me well for life.

When I came here in 7th grade everyone was very welcoming. Everyone in the school (students, teachers, and principals) were all very respectful and kind. Learning is very fun since you have a variety of classes to choose from. I'm in 8th grade now and I am happy to come to school everyday.

This school has really taken a turn for the worse over the last couple of years! The learning support they proudly boast about is non existent anymore!!!! You can go begging teachers and counsellors for help for your kid and all they will do is listen but offer no support whatsoever! So if your kid has any sort of learning issues this is NOT the school to go to. As my kid gets older I can see he is not as knowledgeable as other kids his age who go to other schools in Doha. In year 3 they haven’t even touched a single timetable who makes his peers from other schools rise eyebrows…. They follow a very weird curriculum for math where Kumon is not allowed so I’m struggling a lot to help him with homeschooling. All they do is follow pre-recorded lessons on Ipad and do tasks… if they don’t understand the lesson we are all doomed at home! From year 3 onwards the class size is 23 kids and NO teacher assistant. Due to COVID all extra curriculum activities have been suspended, even the payed ones so we have to go to Doha Collage and Hamilton for swimming or any sports. I’m totally disappointed with this school and I wouldn’t recommend it to any one in Doha!

I attended the American School of Doha for 3 years. While the school and facilities were great, I definitely took some issues with the school leadership. Evidently, so did many of the best teachers, as many of them left.

The school is a nightmare fuel, my friend told me the story about when she used to go there in 5th grade, she said that the teachers treated her in a rude way having the audacity to tell her to return home early. I was dead horrified when she told me that the principal chased her teenage male cousin around the school!! But thank god he called the police to have a lawsuit against ASD. if your planning your beautiful and lovely young children to go there, DON’T because you dont want your children getting humiliated and made fun of. This school gets one star cause I am surprised that they are not good at treating their students.

Hi, This school is called torture and mental, I was a student here for 4 years and I finally got out and thank God I did. This school promotes non muslim events. And there is no Islamic studies. White kids are above all in this school they say it's diverse and that is baloney. Muslim kids feel pressured here they have school dances and celebrate valentine's day and halloween. And the Eid celebrations suck at the school. And they are not friendly to students who have certain learning problems they act like it but that is not reality! I was treated like I was dumb for years at that school by my teachers. The school also is very american it feels straight like america! And the bullying here is extremely bad I was bullied almost all the time! Also if you want your kids to start dating send them to ASD because kids start it in Pre K and it is not like young "Puppy love". Oh no it is not all the time in grades 3-4 one kids boyfriend cheated on them! I am sorry and the things students talk about are disgusting the things minors are talking about at school is horrible and kids are identifying as this that and the other and are saying they are part of the LGBT community identifying from it! Once my teacher clearly knew I was muslim and did not feel comfortable being in a all boy group with a story about something Haram but I was forced to and after 4 years my parents had enough of these awful behaviors that the school had. SO AS A WARNING DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE IT'S ALL FAKE THIS SCHOOL LIES IF YOU ARE MUSLIM NO TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR CHILD LEARNING THE WRONG THINGS NO TO ASD! SAY NO!

I go to ASD, and I am positive that your kid would enjoy coming to this school. They really teach you to be independent, and think with your mind. However, if you need help they are usually almost always there. There is also no uniform.

I like my school a lot! The people and community are really cool and I really appreciate the learning they provide, it's very helpful and their AP and IB programs are extremely sought after and are a very once-in-a-lifetime program to enter in the country.

Share details of your own experience at this place. thats what it said so i wrote it, I also go to ASD. Honestly its an amazing school, much better than my old one (hehe), most of the teachers are really nice and I have friends (I think). I don’t think, umm, the teachers have to give us yellow slips after 4 green slips in a month. Ok thats it

Went to this school for all of middle school and it is still an incredible place that has left a large impact on my life. The teachers and staff were supportive beyond measure, they adapted and changed their teaching styles for students in order to meet their needs. One of those examples was mrs. Shanahan (sorry if i spelt that wrong) she was incredible and supported me and my maths potential through my year with her. My grades went from failing to exceeding within a semester. The dragon houses make you feel welcomed in the community and I will treasure that experience for life. I hope perhaps to see my friends and teachers again from ASD one more time before I graduate. All I can leave this school is my gratitude and thanks for all the brilliant memories. P.S Bryagh remains to be the best house.

This school teaches you to be independant and you learn a lot. They always prepare you for tests in a fun way and are always thinking of fun and independant ways to entertain the kids.
