This review is not for Petco. It is for an Organization called Cat Habitat located inside the store. Cat Habitat is a perfect place to adopt a cat or kitten! I did, and we all still love our cat, Moon after a few years of having her. 😸 I recently fostered for cat habitat, and although I still plead with people to adopt from this shelter, I would also like to add that after the kittens were ready for adoption, the owner of this shelter was very rude and somewhat ungrateful to me. So please do adopt from here! I just do not recommend fostering unless you like to be spoken down to.

Don't buy fish here. I've given this store 3 chances. There won't be a 4th. Each time I've been there I've seen dead fish in tanks, poor maintenance and I asked the associate, they do not quarantine any new incoming fish. I bought over $60 in fish, it's been 3 days since my purchase and each day another dead fish, all guppy. My water parameters are good. I've got four tanks and maintain them all very well.

Workers are not too informative.

28 MAY 23 / My 2nd review - After dropping off my dog for a grooming appointment for Memorial Day, I get a call 20mins later saying that my dog's nose is bleeding. The associate said she washed my dog and was blow-drying her and had no idea how it happened. I was told to come pick up the door they would have to take it to the vet on-site to see if they could still service my dog. Of course, I went back to get her and the doors were locked where even the employees coming to work at 10a couldn't get in. After getting home, she finally was able to relax and was her normal self and all I could see was a small cut on her nose that she couldn't have done herself. Now I'm having to wait another month to get her haircut and nails done. She looks terrible!!! Avoid this location constantly has issues. 1st review over a year ago - After waiting two and half months for an appointment for grooming, we were denied service due to a policy saying no services the day that your animal is seen at the vet and received their shots. Now the next available date that works with my schedule will be another month or more out 🤬...

Experience wasn't the best. I wondered around the store looking for my item for about 10 minutes. Looked for a staff member, noone in sight. Found what I was looking. Went to the register.The person in front of me got out of line because it appeared an associated was opening up. The associate told her she was not open. I let her get her spot back. Another customer got in the behind me. 2 minutes later that same associate that "was not opened" waved for the person behind me to come over and begin to service him. 2 THINGS: She told the lady in front of me she wasn't opened. Then she did not call the next person in line which would have been me. Needless to say, I was still in line while the guy behind me was walking out the door happily with his purchase.

Great service. Staff were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I went to the petco grooming , I have showed the groomer the photo I want my poodle to look like , I said I want a teddy bear look and showed her what I wanted ! She disregard what I want and cut off all my dogs hair! He wasn’t Medic at all !! No customer service inside the groomers at petco in hoemwood I’ll , I bought my poodle in at 2pm , the groomer said I will call you when ready , now it’s 6:30pm no call ! I said to my self I’m going in !! My poodle look like someone Butcher him!! I did call and told them I was very dissatisfied with the service and the haircut 😥they offered the money back , I wouldn’t take it because people out here need a job but I am very dissatisfied.don’t take the easy rout, but cutting off the poodle hair !! I pay for what I want ! Just listen !!

First time using thier services and they did a great job!! My dog recieved a bath and trimmed. I was so nervous dropping her off, but they made me feel like she's going to be ok. I would definitely recommend Petco in Homewood for your pet needs!

Before this one, they injured my dog Chloe clip my last visit They did a pretty good job but the two visits before that on one cut her eye lid and on both of those clippings were just bad they did a really bad job, because the visit before those last three visits I complain about a cut and didn’t that person not to groom her anymore not to I don’t waChloe again I just asked for someone else to do it and I left it at that so the next two times I brought it in they did the worst job then That particular time so they’re not professional they take stuff personal and they enter my dog and then they going to confess to it or list of mono give me any type of satisfaction. At least I still receive a free clip in a correct clip.

I go here more often than I would like to admit, but I've become friends with some of the staff and they're always more than helpful.

The staff is always friendly and the store is always clean. It can be hard to get a grooming appointment though. I suggest scheduling via the Petco app. Karron is really the only groomer who has cut my pets fur and she does a great job every time.

Samantha in the grooming department conducts herself with zero professionalism. She was rude to me and had a poor attitude. She must hate her job.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with finding a new food for my fur babies.

I was just there on Sunday, August 14th & the guy Doug was super helpful and knowledgeable!!! I have them 4 stars instead of 5 bc they seem So short-staffed.

This was my first time here it was very cluttered and needs a good cleaning. Most aisles were cramped and you can't get a cart down without bumping something. I went in here with a family member to get dog food and when she asked if we wanted to get something for our dog I told her its too crammed in here and ready to go. There wasn't much variety and items found had no price tag.

Good selection of fish that I was looking to add to my tank. Went there for some bird seed and walked out with a few new fish

The workers are always so friendly and most of the time I find everything I need for my chinchilla, they always have treats she likes!

Prices seem kindy of high... can go 2 stores over and get reasonable prices

Customer service is excellence as well as the assortment of pet products available.

Clean store. Too bad they are anti gun. Had to walk back to the car after seeing signs plastered everywhere.

The staff is always friendly and they ask about our iguana on the rare times he is not with us.

Nice remodel! I do think a company like this could afford some proper pet care posters (especially for fish) put up around key areas. I don't expect the employees to know proper care outside their interests. Also, the betas make me sad. Not really a Petco specific problem, so no stars docked.

Went to the store for my sister in laws dog Bella The fresh dog food was not fresh! It had maggots inside the container and smelled even worse. We bought it to the attention of the cashier, who then gave it to a store manager and she was:so unconcerned! Check and rotate your stock! But it's in your store ! Some poor pup will get sick. Watch the fresh dog food aisle if it.stinks , it's No good!

The vetco Vax clinic really helped me. I had two dogs that were not mine ,so I could not afford alot. The vet was very nice , and reasonable in price. The groomers helped me fine a place to take the little guys for gooming since they were booked.

The store was well stocked, neat and organized. I had questions that were all answered. I will definitely be back !!

The Petco in Homewood, IL has excellent service for my Goldendoodle. All staff, stock person cashier and others are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My dog gets bathed and trimmed regularly and I have had a couple of emergency appointments. Great place

I like that Petco doesn't discriminate based on breed. Bathing a dog that hates water is more than a chore, Petco makes it easier. I don't love that prices and a la carte services have gone up, but then again everything else has so what can you do? This last grooming my girl was still a little stinky and her clean dog smell only lasted 2 days but usually things are great!

This store is really big. They have a little bit of everything. They even have Vital Care Premier that saves you when buying your food, litter, supplies, and so much more. Also, a multi pet discount. Michelle, Janis,Kim, and the team are so sweet and helpful. Thank you all for what you do. I will definitely come back and shop here. :)

I love this store, they've always had a great variety of dog products from food to toys at fair prices. When I was checking out today I saw a chocolate Standard Poodle being handled extremely rough by the groomer. I left in tears. It was happening in plain view of so many employees since it's right behind the registers and right in front of the store. I can't shop here anymore knowing and seeing with my own two eyes how animal cruelty is tolerated. Nothing wrong with calling the owner and saying their dog doesn't like to be groomed and the work can't be completed. I won't be back. Dollars not Dogs are all that matter here.

The young lady that assisted me was fantastic. She went all out to make sure that I got what I came in for. She was very friendly and very helpful. She was great. The next time I come in to your store I hope that she is available to assist me. Don’t lose her.

This was my 1st time using the grooming services. They really like their furry customers. I brought my stinky English bulldog and received a happy clean fur baby. He didn't want to leave his groomers. They did a great job, but plan ahead they only take reservations and they fill up fast.

I went in asked for help and it went great I found everything I needed thank God and even talked a bit with the lady who helped me the cashier was also great as well I will go back again you should check it out

Watch 4 the sign posted on the plexiglass to your far left @ check out. Temporarily not doing refunds because of Cov-19. Never saw it until the cashier told me of it after I requested a refund. I made a purchase and decided to compare products for an ice melting product that was dog friendly. I was comparing what I had just brought from Home Depot to Petco products. Before leaving the parking lot, I decided to order online & save 25% off on 5 jugs and the previous purchase $12.99 is now $7.99. After it took them a hour plus to fulfill the order I picked up my purchase. It took 3 requests for a manager to get my refund after disputing their sign and it's placement after the point of sale.

I love this Petco! The workers are so nice and love my dogs! They know who we are as soon as they see us pull up! Really the only Petco I choose to shop at.

Came in for a couple of cleaning fish. Asked for service, the associate told me to wait a sec. okay cool he was helping another guest. The guest didn’t know what he wanted. The associate should be trained in polite wordage to be able to facilitate traffic. “Sir, if you’re not ready yet, then I’ll go help other guests who are” simple but no. The associate wasn’t even properly trained to pick up the fish. He literally spilled the bag he had fish in. Cool take more of my time. I don’t value my time at all. He cleaned up his mess and kept flirting with dude. Fine set a date. I went to ask another associate for help and she turned around and asked the first black lady she saw “do you need any help mam” Do I have to be black to get service? Never in my life have I felt discriminated against till now. I dropped the few things that I picked up while waiting for service and left. Luckily Petsmart wasn’t that far. I walked in toPetsmart and could see the difference. The fish looked healthier, they had a bigger variety, but most importantly, they provided service when I needed it. I was being sarcastic earlier, I rather spend money before I spend time. That’s how highly I value my time. Would there be a way to transfer over my points I’ve accumulated this year over to petsmart ? By the way this experience was on Wednesday December 9th 4 pm, relevant info as the dude that always gives me great service was on his way out which I assume worked the morning shift.

Do not buy from Petco🤚❌❌❌ Petco does not wash or check if there Guinea pig is sick. I bought guinea pig its furry and cute. The next day i Noticed that he wasn’t eating a lot, then I found out he had lice. So I took him a shower with a soap that kills lice while I was taking him a shower I found that he had, I’m guessing a worm in his stomach. So right now i’m deciding to get a refund or take it to a vet. But Petco needs to start checking and washing Their guinea pigs and hamsters.
