Love this place! Best pet store in town. WAY BETTER THAN PET SUPPLIES PLUS!!! There is so much love in this place.

I absolutely love this store!! Their customer service rocks! Not to mention that they have experienced and knowledgeable personal. All animals are very well taken care of and they help socialize the little animals before going to their forever homes.

Let me talk about the pros first. Probably the cleanest pet shop ive been to. I’m a fish guy, so i will talk about that. All their tanks are super clean and most of them are planted as well. A HUGE variety of fish and plants. Especially the different types of plants surprised me. No dead fish, everyone looks healthy. Now the cons. 1) Overpriced, but that is somewhat fine especially since the livestock and plants looked healthy and of good quality. 2) I expect the people working at the fish section to have a minimum knowledge about fish, but i do understand not everyone knows about everything. So that is okay as well. But please do-not pass on wrong information to hobbyists. 3) The person working had no idea where the fish where. Since they have so many tanks, I couldn’t remember where i saw them. He kept on saying saying things like “we may not have them”, “they just came in, so Im not sure which section they are”, etc. So i finally took the time to find it myself and then tell him where they were. I hope these things change, so i can update this to a 5star rating. Definitely going back!

We frequent this place alot. This is like a zoo without the entry fee where you can take some of the animals home if you like. I buy my chicken food from here they have animal food for every animal you can think of. Love the staff they are always helpful. Great prices and quality food.

Great store and employees !! Trinece (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is the best!! I always have my kids with me when shopping and she helps bring the big bag of dog food to my car every time. She does not have to do that. It’s a huge help to me and I won’t go anywhere else for my pet food. Thank you!

Love store with a beautiful selection of aquatic animals. Different species of goldfish and snails etc. The decor is a little campy and they have beautiful parrots uncaged in the store which is very humane and my daughter loved the rabbits etc. And the colorful assortment of fish. This is the pet store I'll be going to. Personnel is professional and knowledgeable. So that helps!

Great store, friendly people, very helpful. Their fish room is one of the best I have seen. Large selection of freshwater, saltwater, and brackish water fish. They have a very good selection of all your pet needs. This is a great store!

They provide excellent customer service! We are regulars. They also do a great job clipping our Amazons wings, nails and beak. Very fair prices. Our Amazon is aggressive to anyone but us and the staff at pet supplies plus! Highly recommend this wonderful family owned and operated business.

I was really impressed with their freshwater community selection! The dude at the fish section, Denton (sorry if I misspelled that) helped give a bosemani rainbow I had that was too aggressive for my tank a nice forever home in the store's display tank, and hooked me up with some really nice balloon belly mollies. Can't wait to come back when Im looking for more fish!

Animal Kracker is my most FAVORITE pet store on the planet! The workers are so knowledgeable and their store is so clean and organized. My favorite section is the fish section! Melvis is one of their most knowledgeable employees and not only has he become my 'go to' person for fish inquiries, but he has also become a good friend of mine. I'm blessed to have Animal Kracker as my local fish store!

Found this GEM while searching for live mice for my python, it's probably the nicest store I've visited. Too bad it was a really quick stop, planning on coming back with there whole family.

I’ve been out of the fish keeping hobby for about 5 years now so today was my first trip there in a long time. They’ve changed the place up and I love it so far. It’s definitely on the list of one of the cleanest shops I’ve ever been to. Pretty knowledgeable staff. I would like to see a bigger selection of tanks for purchase but I do understand the constraints of available space. Fish always appear healthy and when in doubt they quarantine the tanks properly. Very nice local shop. Prices vary as do most other shops that deal with livestock.

I remember when this place was on 95th and Kedzie. Love coming here. The atmosphere is awesome. The fish selection is huge. The birds are raucous and fun. The employees are generally nice.

I come here strictly for dog food and bones. They have a deal with my brand where every tenth bag is free. They cut out the proof of purchase and keep it on file. That’s great customer service. It’s also a great pet shop. They have a ton of fish and a lot of birds. It’s a relaxing atmosphere to hear the birds. Really like this store.

Best pet store around. A mom & pop place that employs neighborhood people who actually know a thing about the products and pets they sell. Their prices are in line with the big corporate places. Maybe you'll pay a buck or two more at Animal Krackers (some items they are a buck or two cheaper) but that money isn't going to some cooperate douche-nozzle who's going to buy his 3rd Lamborghini with it! Their fish selection is off the charts and they have a huge selection of dog and cat food. They sell fish, birds, rabbits, reptiles, hamsters and more. No dogs, but that's understandable, puppy mills can go straight to hell. A word of caution. If you bring your young children with, a quick "in & out" trip will not happen! There's tons to look at and my daughter and I can spend an hour or more just browsing their aquarium section. Again, the employees are great. Friendly, knowledgeable, and more than willing to help you with anything you need to make your purchase. SHOP HERE!

I have been buying my fish and aquarium supplies from Animal Krackers for more than 3 years. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and most of all, they love animals...so much that they really take care of the animals they sell. This place is heads and tails above any other store within 100 miles. I highly recommend.

Came just to check out their store, and let me tell you this is by far the best store compared to other competitors. Not only is this place very clean but great selection of fish birds, and other reptiles. They also have three beautiful macaws that you can see. I have a TikTok And you guys can see the videos there, you don’t have to follow just so you guys can see what I’m talking about. @themacawbaby

This is a excellent pet store! I would recommend this spot over the competition stores like pet smart or pet co, anyday! Clean, well organized, fully stocked, and takes great care of their animals.

The selection of fish is good and prices are reasonable. I come here when I want to stock my aquariums. This place is good for the beginner aquarist and the serious ones too.

This place bothers me because they have a flemish giant bunny and its in the smallest cage ive ever seen honestly. The cage isn't suitable for a normal size bunny let alone a bunny 3 times a normal size. The bunny looks super dirty all the time, the cage is always dirty, and it looks like it a has a respiratory infection. I'm not one to bash a place but when speaking to a person who works there about the animal I got nothing but attitude because I had some concerning questions about the animals health and living situation. I hope this place gets shut down. Theres dead fish in so many of the tanks and most of the animals seem unhappy. They want almost 100$ for fish you can get at animal island for less then half the price. There is no quality control here, its seems like the place is based of quantity and trying to maximize profits. Be careful of the prices before you just buy stuff. Stuff on Amazon is cheaper also then what they charge.

Every employee I worked with (4 I think) were super helpful and super friendly. Great selection of items and a really large door for a family-owned pet store. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Where do I start… I’ve been looking for trapdoor snails for some time, no one seems to have them. Someone in a plant group told me about this place. I like the feeling when walking into the entrance, very welcoming if you love fish. Made it past the second entrance doorway and the two workers were busy talking and didn’t welcoming us, but they made sure to make some type of eye contact. Love the fish room, really clean setup, and it just smells fresh throughout the place. Walked around to look at the selection of the fish. I knew exactly what I came for, nothing more nothing less. The only guy that was working back there was busy trying to do a billion and one things at one time. The two workers up front was just chatting away. I asked for help after waiting for 15 plus minutes. Young blonde gave me a little attitude. Wasn’t expecting that at all after asking for help. Once she came she just stood in front of my partner and I waiting for us to talk to her instead of asking how could she help. So my partner mentioned to her that we want 4-6 Trapdoor snails. Made it to checkout and left. I was happy to visit the spot, but after all of that I don’t see myself visiting nor recommending this spot to anyone. Made it home only to realize I basically purchased decorations. The water in the bag that the snails came in smelled really bad, I had two dead snails out of the six that I purchased. Didn’t get a chance to even place them in the aquarium. I called to inform them about what had just happened and to see what could we do to fix the situation. I’m sure it was the same person that picked the snails out answered the phone. Still rude and told me in order to get a refund/exchange I’ll have to bring in the snail body parts including the shell and a sample of my aquarium water. I mentioned that I never place “shells” in my tank because there wasn’t no snail in them. She assisted on going back and forth with me. Hopefully I’ll hear from the owner of this location or even the management team to fix the issue. Again I live an hour plus away. As I mentioned above I pleased with the place/setup, but one rude employee can make the business look like trash. May I add no one in the store had on a mask🤭

It was a really cool place to check out. The fish tank stands are very well set up, the tanks themselves are clean, and the fish look happy and healthy.

This is the ONLY pet store I trust! All the employees are down to earth and knowledgeable. They socialize with the animals and can even tell you about their personalities! Thanks to the nice young lady at the register, I learned how to properly care for my pets.

If you are interested in gloFish this is the spot! I tried them after several fails at Petco. (8 fish died)The fish kept dying off even though my tank tested fine. Before Animal krackers gave me my new gloFish, they tested my water and it was fine. I purchased 5 fish. To be candid 2 died and they replaced them. Those fish are thriving well. It has been 3 months since my purchase and I love my little guys! Full of character! No lie I found out fish actually frown by watching them lol. Highly recommend this place! Also, I explained to them that I wanted my tank to look just as good as I the store and they helped guide me to that standard. 10/10!
