Took a trail to the 2nd largest boiling lake in the world which I would describe more as an extreme hike. Through luscious rainforest, up and down mountains, through volcanoes and springs. By far one of the best ways to spend 7+ hours (nursing a hip injury slowed down slowed me down) of your time here on the island. I highly recommend using a guide because chances are you will get lost without one. Also comfortable trail shoes if you don't mind getting your sneakers wet are a must, enough water and my almost biggest mistake food but nothing heavy.

A surprisingly fun gorge to swim in. Cold initially but get used to it very quickly from cold to refreshing. Keep swimming to the other end and there is a waterfall, so amazing to stand under it. Life jackets/belts are required. Be careful when walking on the road, especially the large ones are very slippery. So glad we went there!

This site was truly unbelievable. I’ve been on the island for 7 days and this was my favorite thing I’ve experienced. I had just never seen anything like it! Pictures don’t quite capture its beauty and uniqueness. Like with everything on the island, I think going with a native is best. Alas, once you’re at Titou Gorge, you can swim in solo to the waterfall no problem. 10/10 recommend making this one of your stops on the island. If you’re coming on a cruise ship stop and have limited time, put Titou Gorge at the top of your list. Just know you’ll need a life jacket! I believe they rent them at the entrance. Also, I would recommend bringing a waterproof pouch for your phone as you’ll definitely want to take pics. PS. We were told a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed here, and though I can’t confirm since I haven’t seen the later POTC movies, this indeed would be the ideal setting for it.

One of the coolest experiences I've had, anywhere. First off, directions are incorrect. Pass the entrance to Middleham Waterfall and once you get to the little town, go right at the spilt, downhill. Turn left after the orange house. You'll pass an electric plant and water tank, I believe, and come to a small bridge. Either park there and walk 5 minutes up or drive all the way up. A few options, you must wear a life vest which is a small cost but you can also add a tube for 25 EC or a guide for a total of 50 EC, plus phone case. A guide isn't necessary but it was really nice to have. He gave some info and literally guided me throughout, even telling me where to step, @Rolly. Super quick and easy, short route to and back. Travel through the gorge and stop at the ledge, where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. Move toward the end where there's a waterfall. It's super fun to push your back against the wall and scoot under the fall. Just watch where you step, can be slippery. Wow! Oh, buy some juice or coconut fudge from the woman selling handicrafts and try to keep your waterproof case from getting wet. Once it does, all pics are blurry.

Bring your water shoes, mask/goggles and waterproof bag or camera case. Awesome swim with a life vest/belt (they have them there) is a must. The water is so refreshing and cool. Be careful as you climb into the falls basin as the water is moving quickly, so make sure you have a good footing. No liability clauses here as it should be. Just use your common sense about your ability.

Visited titou Gorge twice , Saturday was a sunny day and it was busy. Swam through the Gorge which is stunning and managed to get through the current into the waterfall. Yesterday we had it to ourselves and it was an experience not to be missed! Rain had made the current stronger but it was exhilarating! Didn't manage to get into the waterfall but the whole experience was great fun! This would be a must do for anyone travelling to dominica.

Very cool, the swim starts out a little cold but definitely worth it. When you swim back you can stand under a stream that is naturally heated. And ofcourse you can stand under the waterfall. One of the coolest things to do for 30 EC

A must if visiting Dominica, the gorge is beautiful and yes a little cold but not crazy cold. The locals are so nice. Use a guide, he gets you in further near falls and its safer.

Cool waiting pool before entering the gorge. A little current, so I would make sure you are partnered when at the waterfall. The fall is about 30 feet high.

Worth a visit. The swim in (approx 50m) will pose no issues to anyone who thinks of themselves as able to swim. Life jackets provided for 10EC as some form of floatation is mandatory. Two areas in which you can rest if you need to approx 15m and 30m in to the gorge with the waterfall being another 20m or so. It is very atmospheric though we were lucky to have the whole gorge to ourselves for the entirity. If you are a group larger than 6 or so the ambiance may be lost so I'd avoid a big tour group. We bought a waterproof cover for our phone for 30EC though you can rent for 10EC. It was worth it and the case they had was about £10 on amazon anyway so we got it at about cost. Guides on offer though you don't need one unless perhaps you want one adult per child. Little coffee shop on the way out and cold drinks/beer. All the people working there were very happy and friendly.

Titou Gorge was one of our favorite places we visited in Dominica. Bring your water shoes and enjoy this fantastic experience. You don't need a guide but I'd recommend getting one when you arrive. Ask for Ronnie, he was fantastic, friendly, and helpful, and took some great pictures for us with our phone that we would never have been able to get.

Such a magical place. You must wear life jackets and getting a guide is much better since you will learn a lot more about the site.

Beautiful must see location where scenes of pirates of the Caribbean were filmed. The water is a little cold but you aclimate it's not unbearable. We paid $2 for a life vest that is needed. I would not recommend getting a tour guide for the swim it's a straight shot and very short. I went in barefoot and the rocks were slimy. They have changing rooms. And a dark restroom upstairs near the restaurant. The food at the Restaurant was delicious and had fair prices. Our gps lost service when we were getting near so we just followed the signs.

An amazing spot and experience in Dominica that you can enjoy practically free for a 5 EC life vest.. or 10 EC tube rental. Recommend a waterproof camera.. or camera case to capture the experience. Local guides on site were helpful and not pushy which was refreshing compared to other places. A definite must to visit in Dominica.

Amazing spot to feel the nature! I strongly recommend. I want to there by bicycle but I think that would be smater if you take local tour guide:) It was such a great time to swim between the rocks? cave? and saw the pretty water falls

Do you want to be stuck in water in a tiny slot in a rock with 50 people including lots of kids? Add in mandatory life vest to restrict you ability to move away from people? Do you want to be at the mercy to pay whatever for said life vest? Then this is for you! On big cruise day you will not be able to park or move here.

Swimming along the gorge was so much fun even though it was cold! Amazing geological formation in the forest. Air was fresh and scenery beautiful. Worth the trip up there.

Amazing experience! 60$ private taxi from Roseau port to get there as we didn't book a cruise ship excursions tour. Refreshing water, cold but such a nice escape from the heat. Changing rooms, restaurant, and toilets. 5$ for just a life vest which must be worn or you bring your own. No entry without one. No fee to enter the Gorge. Book a tour of the Gorge, only 40$. Includes life jackets for 2 people, waterproof case for your phone plus inflated swimming hoop for those who are less confident or need pushing. Strong current, so if you are not a strong swimmer, get the guide who will help push you - well worth it. The local guide takes you through and tells you about the gorge and helps you through the current and waterfall, which we would have struggled with. Stay to the left as you reach the waterfall, strong current! Crystal clear water, bring goggles and for goodness sake wear sea shoes - just wear them. Ignore the guide - wear them it will save your feet & knees as you won't fall like we did.

Perfect rest stop after a day of hiking in the steamy jungle. Short swim in a cool river, upstream through a narrow stone passage, to a refreshing waterfall. Afterwards, there is a snack table with cold beer, soda, water and various eats. Overall a very refreshing experience.

Very cool place in Dominica. It's easier if you wear a life jacket. That way you can float and take pictures.

This was an absolute highlight to visit and should not be missed! After getting past the cold temperature of the water, swimming through the gorge provided stunning cliffs and beautiful flora and fauna. I would highly recommend this experience.
