I was going to leave a three-star review, but as I have only used the restaurant facilities, I feel this would be unfair. My restaurant experience was decidedly three stars. The best thing about Jungle Bay is the fantastic location and views; they are truly breathtaking. We were disappointed we were not allowed access to the pool after spending several hundred USD on food and drinks around the pool area. The entire place was empty, and it was silly that access was denied. We are aware that access is given to groups often, but this was not extended to us. I have no issues with the pricing at Jungle Bay. However, if you have spent time in this area of Dominica as I have, you will be aware that Jungle Bay has a reputation for being expensive, and we were not surprised when the bill came. Sadly the food options were minimal, so my entire party had no choice but to choose 'blackened tuna'; it was by far the worst fish I have ever eaten, and we were all in agreement. The fish was dry and overcooked with a taste of fresh-cut grass, and nasty charcoal hit. We planned to visit many more times, but we cancelled our other reservations immediately after this meal. Clearly, the chef or whoever decided the menu tried very hard to justify the price by following pretentious overcomplicated recipes. Any local can cook a nicer meal for a fraction of the cost with high-quality ingredients. The menu needs a total rethink, focusing on fresh local ingredients with good presentation and customer service to match. I'll return if things change; if not, give the restaurant a miss and maybe have a drink by the pool - don't expect to be allowed in, though!

First off, the hotel here is amazing. We had a sea view bungalow for two nights and the views were beautiful and the bungalow was nicely finished and very comfortable. A true 5 star experience. So, why the 3 stars? Well, the restaurant leaves so much to be desired, to put it nicely. It's way way overpriced for what it is (think more pricey than a nice meal in NYC) and very very mediocre. It feels like they're trying to make it elevated and international, but really fail at both. We've had so much delicious food on the island and I think they'd do so much better by sticking to local produce and dishes, up the quality and lower the price a bit. Unfortunately, with very few convenient alternatives (there's really only Chez Wen in Scott's Head - which was much better btw), you end up feeling a bit taken advantage of. We understand it's tough times for tourist-facing businesses but this was a bit absurd. And finally, to be clear, we're happy to pay top dollar for food - but it has to be merited, and this was far from it.

Probably the best all around accommodation on the island (I stayed at 3 including a jungle Bay). Jungle Bay melds first class accommodations with a rustic environ. The fact that much of the food is local from the fields surrounding the hotel is a major plus. The views are gorgeous and you are lulled to sleep with the sounds of the jungle surrounding you. The food is a beautiful harmony of local cuisine while attempting to cater to the basic continental crowd (I personally stayed away). The salt fish and coconut bakes are insanely good, so why bother with anything else. The hotel is located in the south west of the island but it’s about a 40 min drive to all of the major points of interest. Don’t forget about the amazingly huge and airy yoga studios, perfect for those who enjoy a group setting or do their own thing. All in all an amazing stay. I will be staying again, when I return to Dominica.

The hotel is gorgeous, 5 stars : it’s decorated with taste, the view is beautiful and the staff is professional. I just regret the strong smell of cloves in the room and the fact that you cannot properly be in the dark since there is windows on top without curtains - but fine. However the restaurant is mediocre, 1 star : it felt like paying the price of a fine dining restaurant for cafeteria food. We had a « fish » soup (12 US$/per soup) : a tasteless bouillon with one piece of fish. Then I had seafood « creole way » : basically the same tasteless soup with some seafood (45 US$) and my partner had the fish of day : it was cooked with a kind of crust and was ridiculously dry. The cocktails (served in plastic glasses) were acceptable. My partner and I felt really taken advantage of. This place should offer a much better food for the asking price or… should divide the price by 3 in order to match with what is actually offer.

Such a great place! Food and service were awesome, rooms are very cool, and the spa has great options for couples. We had so much fun exploring the island, and the south end of the island does not disappoint!! Book with confidence!!

Jungle Bay resort is a paradise found. From the moment you step onto the property you feel immersed in nature yet with all the amenities, in a small intimate setting . The accommodations are private and luxurious surrounded by gardens and the sounds of the jungle. A new flower in bloom each day! The meals are unbelievable! Miss Joanne and her team prepare and serve local cuisine with the freshest local ingredients- always with a smile. The menu changes daily and my husband is still raving about the coconut crusted creole fish. We ate all of our breakfasts and dinners at Jungle Bay- an unusual occurrence for us while traveling. There is so much to see and do on the nature island. Weefee is a solid guide and local legend- he and his crew took us on excursions around the island to all the best spots and shared his local insight and knowledge of all things under the sea and of the land. Dominicans are the most friendly of people- kind and willing to help, wanting to share all of their beautiful country. We will return to Dominica and we will return to Jungle Bay.

I'd like to thank all jungle bay's staff for the great service I received on my solo trip to Dominica. The GM Laura, the yoga instructor, the guides, Weefee and Chester, the restaurant and the spa staff- you all are doing a great job. I was looking for a peaceful retreat place to get some spiritual healing as a mother who lost her beloved baby. Jungle bay and Dominica gave me so much wonderful energy that I will carefully carry through my recovery process. I've met amazing people who stayed here from all over the world, I really appreciate their kindness and support. The activities that the hotel provided as advantage packages were extremely good and well organized, I really enjoyed the middleham waterfall hike, fresh water lake hike, champagne beach snorkeling, Tito gorge. The adventure package was worth every penny. I really enjoyed the local cuisine at the restaurant, ordering seafood and veggies every day. The entire facility is very beautiful ,very well designed, so is the garden. The view of the mountains and the sea is breathtaking. The only thing that I can complain about were the mosquitoes in the room, there is a mosquito net over the bed , but it's not very comfortable to use, I got bitten a lot, so next time I'll have to prepare a lot of insect repellent. I really enjoyed my stay with you guys, and I can't wait to be back!

I could write a book about all the things I loved here but I'll keep it short and simple. This resort did not disappoint. They offered a wide range of fun activities. The staff was very friendly; they made us feel like family. By the last day, we were all sad to leave our new friends! The restaurant... 10/10. The menu was different every day and there was not one meal that we didn't love. The chef was very accommodating to us and our family. Whatever we needed/wanted, it was delivered! Book this resort with confidence... HIGHLY recommend.

My experience at Jungle Bay was great! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The resort is beautiful and in a great location. The meals were good and the guides provided great history of the island and safe experiences for all of the hikes and excursions. The staff also checked with the airport daily when I didn't arrive on the island with my luggage. I highly recommend staying here if you visit the wonderful island of Dominica.

Wow, what a beautiful place to stay. We had one week in the Jungle Bay Hotel and we enjoyed every second of it. The amazing staff makes you truly feel at home. Lovely people in stunning surroundings, we were enjoying life at its best there! 5 stars for the setting, the food, the activities, tour arrangements and of course the wonderful people ❤️ A big thank you to everyone!

We stayed at Jungle Bay while visiting Dominica to see the sperm whales. We couldn't have been happier with this location. The views were world class and the chef, Wendy, ensured that all the food was fresh and delicious, with plenty of local flavor. I didn’t try the massage or yoga, but I did a couple activities offered by the hotel and it was always a great time. There is an excellent dive shop very close to jungle bay for some world-class scuba. Dominica is a special place - still wild, with gorgeous volcanoes creating a picturesque view in every direction. The hotel has the sights and sounds of jungle overlooking the bay. If you want pampering, there is pampering. If you want adventure, there is adventure. We were here to spend six days snorkeling with the sperm whales with Indigo Safaris, and it was a fabulous experience in every way. I’m going to be dreaming of swimming with these sperm whales forever. The staff at the hotel were so friendly - they all knew us by name very quickly and were happy to acoommodate all our needs. Highly recommend.

If you're in need of a place to go, Jungle Bay is just the place. Celebrate special events like birthdays and more. Really relaxing atmosphere with great food and music. The staff, of this resort, were very welcoming. I had a truly amazing experience for my birthday ❤

We booked our honeymoon here and there is no other way to describe this location and island other than the word magical. We cannot speak highly enough of this place. Within 15 minutes of arriving, we are greeted by the general manager, Laura, who is about as kind as can be. Everyone on the entire team is so incredibly kind and sweet, we felt totally taken care of the entire time. The excursions were outstanding, and each guide was very knowledgeable, kind, accommodating, and just plain fun to be around. We also enjoyed the Bamboo Spa very much so. The staff there are clearly pros at what they do and they made us feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. The food and drinks were outstanding, too. Overall, you cannot go wrong with booking at Jungle Bay! The Adventure Wellness Package is the way to go for those wanting to experience everything there is to offer. We were completely spoiled!

My husband and I booked a two night stay for our fifth wedding anniversary and I must say it was the most wonderful experience. The staff was super accommodating as well as the manager. The view from our room was breathtaking, the food was great, the grounds and overall ambience of the hotel is perfect for someone seeking a peaceful stay surrounded by nature. We had a very relaxing couple's massage that put us both to sleep lol. The room had everything that we needed. We especially loved the signature Jungle Bay papaya hand soap, lotion and body wash. They smell heavenly. Looking forward to celebrating many more events at Jungle Bay. Big thanks all of the staff for making our wedding anniversary so special. We hope to see you again soon.

We visited for lunch. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who was extremely courteous and even offered us a tour of the facilities. The food was average but the surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. A true natural escape.

Rooms: very nice but lighting could be better. Service: slow in restaurant. Makes it difficult to eat here if you are on a schedule. Also, not good form to serve only part of a group first and make the rest of the group wait for more than 5 mins for remainder. Location: nice but not convenient to town.

Jungle Bay resort is amazing! I don't believe it's website conveys how great this resort is. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The guides are phenomenal and very knowledgeable. The food is delicious, and the entire property is outstanding. We paid for the Adventure package, which was the best thing we could have done. We were active every day. We hiked, snorkeled, laid at the pool, did yoga, went to the spa, toured the grounds... and ate delicious food for every meal. Jungle Bay's philosophy is sustainable eco-tourism...I cannot say enough great things about this resort and the people who work there.

We just came back from 11 days at Jungle Bay, and it was an incredible resort. The staff truly goes out of their way to make you feel like family -- we're already missing our morning walks with Sam and evening yoga sessions with Nancy! The organized tours they offered were fantastic and extremely reasonable, the food changed daily and was always fresh / flavorful and the grounds are absolutely impeccable. We have been to 120+ countries, but would put Dominica near the top of our list for ones we want to come back to and can't imagine staying anywhere else other than Jungle Bay. Do yourself a favor and book this now if you're on the fence!

Recommended. Lovely villas, beautiful grounds, friendly staff and well located to snorkel spots in SW Dominica. Good, healthy breakfast and lunches. Would give 4.5 ⭐️ if I could, but we felt the evening service in the restaurant wasn’t up to five star standard.

So much attention to details and clear intention on wellness, Jungle Bay is its own experience. We arrived late on Friday night and as a first timer on this island, it took us 1Hr 40mins to drive our rental car from the airport to jungle bay but it immediately made the drive all worth it. It is not your typical resort spa, it is more than words could described, the ground feels special, the landscape is breathtaking, the view is everything you want from a jungle getaway. The service staff are very friendly and professional. The breakfast was fueling. Above all, the accommodation was truly overboard. We decided to extend our stay with them and even upgraded to another villa with the ocean view and a massive deck to enjoy the outdoor, the night breeze and a brilliant bright full moon. It was absolutely breathtaking. We look forward to staying with them again. And a special thank you to Judy (manager) for everything you had done to make our stay so special!

We didn't stay here but went to the restaurant with friends as it was their last day on Dominica. Great food, super friendly server, beautiful setting (although dark so we didn't have a view). A beautiful evening to relax!

We were a party of nine who visited Jungle Bay Dominica on a Day Of Leisure to celebrate my mother’s 84th birthday on 22 February. She enjoyed it and found it a lovely calming experience. The physical structure of Jungle Bay is soothing and wooden and my kind of architecture. The various Spa treatments we had was lovely and my Mojito was splendid. The food could be better and was important to some of the party but not to me personally on that occasion. The surrounding gardens are epic. The One on One service was reasonable. Dear Sam : you done good 👍 #Plantationgroverestuarant Dublanc

Amazing customer service. Rooms are well cleaned and properly furnished. I especially love the recycled, cleaned atmosphere. Very nice energy there along with amazing views. The only thing I could really complain about is the prices.

Location was excellent, the service and staff were excellent, and the scenery was out of this world. My husband and I had a chat with Sam, the owner, and he was very approachable and eager to talk about the future plans for Jungle Bay. Separate to this, the food was extraordinary, blending local cuisine with western.

This was my third visit to Jungle Bay. Each time it just gets better and I love it more. The property is magnificent, the rooms are beautiful and spacious, the food is generous and fresh and the staff are only there for one reason- to make you happy. I have recommended jungle Bay to my son for his honeymoon. He’s going. 💗

Love the place. Great location. Great view of Scott’s Head (end of Dominica) where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meets. Visited for lunch. Best Roti I had (curry shrimp). The cabins are built into the side of the mountain with bamboo trees, mango trees and other citrus trees. Terrific place to visit for lunch and sure it would great to spend a night there.

Heaven on earth - let Jungle Bay be your home base and from there plan the rest. The view of the sea and Scott's Head is simply breathtaking. This place is ideal to disconnect, to reset, to re-energize, to pause from the daily craziness that surrounds us. The staff is completely adapted to the wonderful state of mind and peace that this place gives you. Even wonderful international staff like Dario from Italy. So it's your turn to experience this treasure.
