If you’re wondering where to stay in Dominica - look no further because you just found it. My family of three absolutely loved our time here so much that we extended our trip to stay longer. Shaynelle and the hotel staff were all very accommodating and lovely, the gardeners always smiling and pointing out the best cocos and fruits to pick. The pool side bar and restaurant was simply delicious! And last but not least our guide Zahir was simply the best! We, and especially our little boy, will never forget him and all the custom adventures he took us on. His knowledge of the island, it’s people, it’s customs and it’s secret natural beauty is simply mind blowing. We literally saw a new waterfall every day, and we were by ourselves every time. Good luck achieving this without a guide..or anywhere in the world today 😉. As someone that works full time in the film and marketing industry, I can say with confidence that Rosalie Bay is offering something that is very hard to find today, a totally custom experience just for you. they are setting the bar very high. From Canada 🇨🇦 Thank you so much Rosalie Bay Eco Resort & Spa - The Quigleys will be back! 🌴❤️🙏✌️🌈

If you are looking for an adventure off the beaten path and away from the crowds, this is the place for you! Easy enough for Americans to get to with direct flights from Miami, but still a hidden gem that attracts intrepid travelers. Rosalie Bay Resort in Dominica is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for comfortable rooms, amazing atmosphere, and the most welcoming people in the Caribbean! We stayed 5 nights in an Oceanview Suite, which provided peek-a-boo views of the Atlantic Ocean from the back porch. We enjoyed listening to the sound of the waves, wandering around the property's beach and trails, and spending time at the resort pool and bar/restaurant. It is a great hub from which to enjoy all that the Nature Island has to offer. While it would be impossible to name everyone on the staff who worked so hard to make sure we had a memorable experience, I would like to highlight a few people who went above and beyond to create the most magical vacation for us. Zahir helped orient us to the island and is an incredible wealth of knowledge about the flora, fauna and local customs of Dominica; he does it all - whether it was driving us to/from the airport, accompanying us on a farm tour, or dropping off fresh coconuts for us to enjoy. Odette was so helpful and accommodating to our COVID-testing needs for re-entry in to the U.S. Judy is the friendly, generous turtle expert who led us on a couple of hikes and went to great lengths to ensure that we got the full Dominica experience; she let us visit her farm and even sent us home with a personalized gift that will provide memories of our trip for years to come. Chef Nyanda leads the talented kitchen staff who provided wonderful service and delicious local, organic food throughout our stay. She even went the extra mile to set up a private cooking experience so we could get a taste of the local cuisine and a family-style meal over an open fire. They accommodated my specific food preferences and always gave us excellent service. As you can tell, I cannot say enough about the amazing people who work at Rosalie Bay Resort. By the end of the trip, I felt like we made some new friends who will welcome us back with open arms should we ever return, which I hope to do soon and encourage you to do as soon as you can!

After an extremely frustrating experience with American Airlines that refused to let us check in for our flight exactly an hour before, we ended up booking a last minute reservation at Rosalie Bay based off of a local’s recommendation. It turned out to be the one silver lining of our trip. Zena’s service was spectacular and she immediately made us feel at home for our unseen adventure. The chef, Nyanda, prepared the best meal we had of the entire trip. The lobster was done to perfection, the sides where hearty and tasty, and the catch of the day has Fresh, with an amazing added sauce. The cocktails were also the best we experienced on the island— don’t forget to try a rum ginger shot! This is an absolute hidden gem that made our denial of boarding seem like destiny. P.s. it’s also the height of turtle season and we landed on the biggest leather back nesting beach on the island! They keep an eye on the beach and are happy to give you a quick ring at 2 am to notify you of their journey from the land to the sea. Fingers crossed for another silver lining!

This place was magical and peaceful. I was looking for rejuvenation. I found all that and more. From the free classes on reflexology and making your own body scrubs to the amazing food made on site to the impeccable service from ALL staff, I was so pleased. The highlight was Zahir Oscar, our driver, provided by the hotel. He was not only respectful and delightful, but he knows EVERYTHING about Dominica. He took us to amazing waterfalls, whale watching, and gave us the history of this amazing place. I will definitely be back! I think I'm in love with Dominica!

I stayed at Rosalie Bay from 10/28 to 11/2. I was drawn to Dominica and Rosalie bay because it seemed lest touristy than Jamaica, Puerto Rico, or the Dominican Republic. Here are my specific points for this hotel: Location: The resort's location is well worth the cost of the rooms alone. The hotel sits on the east side of Dominica and contains all kinds of plant life, including banana trees, palm trees, almonds, pineapples, sugar cane, and more! The black sand beach and nature walk are stunning, especially if you wake up early enough to watch the sunrise. Rooms: I stayed in a junior suite near the beach. The bed mattress was a bit firm for my taste but otherwise felt fine. Lots of room in the bathroom with a giant tub and large showerhead. Cleaning is as requested and not everyday, which I prefer. Tea and coffee selections were nice. Fridge only contains water but you can buy soft drinks and alcohol from the reception area if you choose. Food: The hotel restaurant is really the only place to get food unless you have a car and can drive to a market (none are close by). With that said, the hotel restaurant served excellent food for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner. breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, pancakes, bake (local pastry), sausages Dominican style, fruit slices, coffee, and tea. Vegetarian and healthy options were available. Activities in and around the hotel: I wish I had the chance to take an excursion to Batibou beach or Mero Beach or Scott's Head. However, the hotel indicated that their taxi drivers were not available and that gas price increases meant that the excursions were more expensive than usual. However, they did organize a bus to the World Creole Festival in Roseau, which was a fun adventure. The hot stone massage at the Glo-Spa was a much needed relaxation escape. Keep in mind that homosexuality in Dominica is still illegal. While I was fine as a single gay traveller, I don't know what the hotel would have done if I tried to book a room with a boyfriend/husband.

The management here is racist - if you are light-skinned, you should avoid staying here. When I tried to check out, they added several charges to my bill that were unfair and related only to my skin color. This is a third-world resort that is unable to interact with rich people. AVOID.

A nice resort in a beautiful setting. Very nice and friendly staff- from the great tour guide that took us to Victoria Falls to the spa. Want to come back for the turtle nesting season.

What an amazing place!! It was clean, quiet, and gorgeous!! Surnita was absolutely amazing along with the other girls at the restaurant. If you have the chance to visit - GO!!! We also got to watch 2 turtles lay their eggs on the beach. We did rent a car and this location was perfect to go out and explore the rest of the island. Highly recommend!!!!!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Premises and location are absolutely beautiful (you have to swim in river, its absolutely amazing, ask security to show you swimming hole). Resort is very quiet and peaceful. You will be constantly watching birds and iguanas. Staff, especially in restaurant, AMAZING. Food delicious and affordable. In moments it felt like we were only guests there, how quiet it was. Pool was also very nice. Also, check their nature trail, its short, but beautiful. Unfortunately, from 4star resort we were expecting room in better shape. Some outlets were dangerous, too many switches for lights were confusing, ceiling fans didn't work. Room in need of fresh paint. First day of our stay there was horrible smell from drains in bathroom and smell in room. I guess it was because nobody stayed in that room for while. Very bad shower water pressure and challenging to find comfortable water temperature. Either cold or very very hot. Room itself was very dark with heavy curtains, which were hard to open, so we had to use lights even in daylight. We booked expensive ocean view suite because of view, but photo on their website was misleading. We couldn't see the ocean from patio at all due to overgrown bushes, which was very disappointing. I have to say that bed was very comfortable and they had good quality sheets. Please note, that if you don't have car, you are stuck in middle of nowhere, not even small store is close by. It is very remote location. Also, due strong currents, you cannot swim in ocean, but beach is beatiful. As I said location and surroundings are beautiful, but due to room condition I think its very pricey.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here- stunning ocean view, fun hiking trail, friendly staff, fresh food, etc. It is a bit of drive to town but the privacy and seclusion is what we ultimately prefer.

Nice place that stays on top of the grounds. The price was fair and included a free breakfast. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable.

We had a lovely stay. The resort managed our entire vacation including our hikes, meals, and transportation. Our guides were Zihar and Asher — both are fantastic! Zihar is very knowledgeable about the island and we learned a ton from him. Asher is a really fun guy who also gave us lots of insights into life in Dominica. I highly recommend both guides!! Here are some other notes from our trip, including some things we would have wanted to know before our stay: 1. The beach at the resort is not so accessible. Swimming in the ocean isn’t allowed because it’s dangerous and there are no beach chairs, amenities, etc. We did not venture onto the beach all week. 2. The restaurant is very tasty and has a good menu, although the food takes an extremely long time. We waited 1-1.5 hours for our lunch when we ate at the resort. For dinner, we tried to pre-order which made our appetizers come out quickly but we still waited another 90 minutes for entrees. It’s also unpredictable whether they will be doing menu service or buffet style (the staff do not seem to know in advance). 3. The rooms are clean and nice, although the hot water in the shower is not reliable. We did not have warm showers most days. 4. The staff is really nice but the customs around service are a different than in some other places. At the restaurant, we sometimes felt like we were being a burden to them with our requests (like asking for ice in water, accommodating dietary restrictions, etc.). That being said, they are lovely people and we especially liked Delaney, who was very patient with us all week! All in all, we had an awesome time. The hikes and waterfalls are truly unreal. Very memorable and extremely fun trip!

Absolutely gorgeous place. Great food and drinks. The location is beautiful. You are between the local fresh water river and the sea. Possible turtle sightings. The grounds are very lovely and the staff are friendly and deliver great service. Will definitely be going back there when I next visit DR. Definitely recommend for couples, families and singles. Also lovely swimming pool. Enjoy.

My husband and I have been telling everyone how amazing our trip was and a lot of that had to do with Rosalie Bay. The staff was so nice and helpful, especially after we had flight delays out that resulted in a change of plans. Our room on the river was awesome and the grounds of the resort are so pretty. Zahir was a great excursion guide and we had lots of fun exploring the island with him. The chef there is also outstanding. Nothing but good things to say.

My husband and I had a wonderful trip to Rosalie Bay! The resort is beautiful, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hospitality and service unparalleled. We loved walking the beach, a black sand beach with rough surf and palm trees, and the gardens. I’m grateful to have experienced it.

Fantastic resort. Staff are very accommodating and friendly, food is delicious, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The driver/tour guide is fantastic, and gave us a wonderful tour to see Victoria Falls. The one negative is that much of the stuff to see on the island is on the other side, so stuff takes a while to get to. Highly recommend staying here.

It was the most wonderful experience I had in a long time. A perfect place for an anniversary celebration. The room was beautiful! The food was great, the service was top notch, the environment was just perfect, and the pool, and water sports activity were great! I'd do it over and over again! I will be there again soon
