I
stayed
at
Rosalie
Bay
from
10/28
to
11/2.
I
was
drawn
to
Dominica
and
Rosalie
bay
because
it
seemed
lest
touristy
than
Jamaica,
Puerto
Rico,
or
the
Dominican
Republic.
Here
are
my
specific
points
for
this
hotel:
Location:
The
resort's
location
is
well
worth
the
cost
of
the
rooms
alone.
The
hotel
sits
on
the
east
side
of
Dominica
and
contains
all
kinds
of
plant
life,
including
banana
trees,
palm
trees,
almonds,
pineapples,
sugar
cane,
and
more!
The
black
sand
beach
and
nature
walk
are
stunning,
especially
if
you
wake
up
early
enough
to
watch
the
sunrise.
Rooms:
I
stayed
in
a
junior
suite
near
the
beach.
The
bed
mattress
was
a
bit
firm
for
my
taste
but
otherwise
felt
fine.
Lots
of
room
in
the
bathroom
with
a
giant
tub
and
large
showerhead.
Cleaning
is
as
requested
and
not
everyday,
which
I
prefer.
Tea
and
coffee
selections
were
nice.
Fridge
only
contains
water
but
you
can
buy
soft
drinks
and
alcohol
from
the
reception
area
if
you
choose.
Food:
The
hotel
restaurant
is
really
the
only
place
to
get
food
unless
you
have
a
car
and
can
drive
to
a
market
(none
are
close
by).
With
that
said,
the
hotel
restaurant
served
excellent
food
for
both
breakfast,
lunch,
and
dinner.
breakfast
buffet
included
scrambled
eggs,
pancakes,
bake
(local
pastry),
sausages
Dominican
style,
fruit
slices,
coffee,
and
tea.
Vegetarian
and
healthy
options
were
available.
Activities
in
and
around
the
hotel:
I
wish
I
had
the
chance
to
take
an
excursion
to
Batibou
beach
or
Mero
Beach
or
Scott's
Head.
However,
the
hotel
indicated
that
their
taxi
drivers
were
not
available
and
that
gas
price
increases
meant
that
the
excursions
were
more
expensive
than
usual.
However,
they
did
organize
a
bus
to
the
World
Creole
Festival
in
Roseau,
which
was
a
fun
adventure.
The
hot
stone
massage
at
the
Glo-Spa
was
a
much
needed
relaxation
escape.
Keep
in
mind
that
homosexuality
in
Dominica
is
still
illegal.
While
I
was
fine
as
a
single
gay
traveller,
I
don't
know
what
the
hotel
would
have
done
if
I
tried
to
book
a
room
with
a
boyfriend/husband.
