Well located in a super chilled, peaceful and lush part of Soufriere. The guesthouse is the perfect launch point for exploring underwater, on the water or on land. Jon and Wes are the hosts with the most and have the best all around knowledge on the island. They can guide you on free/diving, snorkeling, hiking, kayak/SUP and anything else you need to know about Dominica! For chilling you can sink into the comfy hammocks on the balcony and use the high speed wifi. I also love soaking in my own secluded "spa" a few minutes walk from the gh at the hot springs or the cold stream. The bed is sooo comfy and sturdy and will recharge you with restful sleeps. The spacious and inviting common spaces, well equipped kitchen, lovely hosts and guests all create a unique homey atmosphere which is perfect for solo travellers, couples and groups. Can highly recommend!

What a special spot this is! We arrived on Christmas Eve and we were immediately invited to a potluck dinner Jon and Wes were hosting at the guesthouse. We felt really welcome and safe here. Met such nice people. The facilities are super basic, but it suited us just fine. We'd absolutely come back. Don't miss walking to the hot springs just up the road!

Located in green area aside of the town. Friendly owner, nice big rooms and fully equipped kitchen. No restaurant or convinience shops in vicinity, you need a car to get food.

We stayed here for 2 nights prior to kayaking the Waitukubuli Sea Trail and had a fantastic time. The rooms were clean, large, spacious and nicely decorated. The common spaces were nice to have to be able to prepare food, hang out and it was fun to meet other people that were there at the same time. It’s a short walk into Soufriere. John and Wes were helpful and friendly and it was fun to talk to all the other people who were also staying there. It very much felt like a little community of friends (and I’m very antisocial!).

I spent three weeks travelling Dominica, moving from town to town every two to three days. I arrived here thinking I’d do the same but ended up staying over a week. Jon and Wes have created a home away from home for those visiting Soufriere. Their lodging is in a beautiful house in a quiet area of the town. They are great hosts who upon my arrival gave me all the info I needed to know about local attractions, food, & drink. I hope to make it back here one day, definitely worth revisiting. Many thanks again!

I stayed at the guesthouse for two weeks in October 2020 and absolutely loved it. The thing about this place is that it's an incredibly nice place given the low cost (compared to other accommodations on the island), you will not want to get up from the hammock looking into the mountains, the resident cat and visiting dog are filled with character. The people are also pretty cool. The sense of community is one-of-a-kind! I stayed in the private room which was decorated simply and elegantly. When I find myself in Dominica again, I will definitely be stay there.

Great vibes, great location just 10 min away from the noise of Soufriere centre, everything from the room to the shared facilities (kitchen, common areas) is super clean and well organised. We stayed in a double room with the bathroom, but there were dorms too. Just lovely!

The Soufriere Guesthouse is the closest thing to home one will experience while in Dominica. Whether your stay is short or long, you are welcomed with kindness and hospitality. It sits in the quiet yet remarkable valley of Soufriere. With countless activities such as kayaking, hiking and diving only a 10 minute walk from the Guesthouse, there is no shortage of things to do. If you don't know where to start, the owners Wes and Jon are available to give great advice to start your adventures. The Guesthouse offers wonderful kitchen amenities and clean, comfortable rooms. If you're looking for a place to simply relax and unwind, or a place to kickstart your adventure, The Soufriere Guesthouse is a must see.

This was the second time we stayed at Soufriere Guesthouse, and it still feels like a home from home! Every time we stay, the scenery and vibe give us such inspiration, that we're almost sad to move on. Walking distance to the beach, great island-wide transport links, hiking spots, restaurants, bars and groceries - perfect! The owners keep making the place even better, so it will always be THE place to stay in Dominica!

I LOVED IT! As someone who spent the last 10 years of traveling mainly in hotels and airbnbs I thought I'd give it a try to live in a more communal space again and share common areas with other people. After having lived the entirety of February&March of 2022 in the Soufriere Guesthouse I am convinced I will go back to more communal spaces in the future. Working remotely I was always free to be in my own room or in more private areas of the guesthouse as there are plenty of tables, hammocks and other places to work from. If I ever wanted to be social I could go to the common spaces and strike up conversations with likeminded and friendly people, a group that Soufriere Guesthouse seems to be attracting. The WIFI is fast for anything one could do (video calls, movies, etc.). The kitchen is very well equipped and coming from a restaurant only mindset I really enjoyed getting into cooking during my stay, even baking the first bread in my life. That is what Dominca and the Guesthouse does to you, it slows you down, takes away the pace of hectic life, makes you engage in conversations, rest in a hammock, taking things slow. The owners Jon and Wes are great people, always up to crack some jokes and share there knowledge about this paradise island. 10 out of 10! :)

Beautiful views, very comfortable hostel. Hosts gave suggestions as to where to go. Dive centre is in walkable distance, snorkeling was very cool. Bus from Roseau for 5 ec, also possible to hitch hike. Nice sulfur springs near by. Would recommend :)

The rooms are beautifully furnished, but there is no air conditioning and it gets hot at night.

Awesome place!!! I stayed here for a long weekend recently and had a great time!  The guesthouse is located in the crater of a dormant volcano, which makes for a gorgeous, dramatic setting.  It's just outside the town of Soufriere, in a quiet area surrounded by nature, but an easy 10 minute walk from the town and the beach.  The rooms were large and comfortable, with small refrigerators, kettles, and good showers with reliable hot water in each. There was even an extension cord in the room and adapters to make it easy to plug everything in and charge.  There's a big common area for hanging out and meeting others, lots of games and books to share, and a full shared kitchen where you can prepare food.  However the best part is the big balcony with multiple hammocks, perfect for napping, reading, relaxing or just chilling out! Owners Wes and Jon are super nice and helpful, able to give you advice on what to see and do and how to set it up.  The beach nearby in Soufriere is really cool - Bubble Beach as it's called has geothermal bubbles coming up from the bottom, and you can feel the heat if you dig down in the sand. There is a even a "spa," a bricked off area of warm water like a hot tub that you can access for free or for a small voluntary donation, with a bar nearby of course!  We did the hike to Scotts Head which was great and also did a kayaking and snorkeling excursion with Wes's company Soufriere Outdoor Centre which was really cool!  The snorkeling was great and we saw lots of fish, a turtle, a sting ray, eels, and a squad of squid!  Highly recommended!

I had an amazing experience at Soufriere Guesthouse. Owners Jon and Wes are excellent hosts, very knowledgeable and friendly. Soufriere itself is a great place to stay in Dominica, very calm and friendly village a short 20 min ride from the capital. I look forward to staying here again
