A rare experience, alone, far from mass tourism in an idyllic setting thanks to a small team of real passionates. The trip was fabulous! I have been to Bahia de las Aguilas several times over the course of the last 18 years. I have had different guides but Valentina and Capitan Michele were by far the best! They explained the historia of the area, the geography, how the bay formed it was more than just the boat ride which others provide. Captain Michele let my 7 year old help drive the boat and were patient with him and our whole group. The snorkeling tour was great! We saw so much and Valentina gave a fabulous explanation ahead of time about what we would see and the sign language she would use to communicate with us when she saw exciting sites. They also really care about the area and are actively working to preserve the natural beauty even as tourism develops. They were kind and flexible and emphasized that they don’t go out with their watches. They cared about the quality of our experience and are dedicated to their craft and making sure the area remains protected. I highly recommend the service and hope to return with extended family when they visit in the future.

Excellent experience diving with Michele and Valentina. They offer not only a great service for beginners but also for experienced divers as well. We felt welcomed and very well taken care of. We enjoyed a healthy reef and a warm friendly conversation. We appreciate all they do to keep the reef in a good condition and their commitment to the environment is visible with actions not only words. We will most surely come back with more time to dive a lot more with them. Highly recommended.

Top of the line service and atmosphere. We did the snorkeling and the couple that run the operation are very knowledgeable and accommodating. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy but they made sure we fully enjoyed the experience. The kids loved it too! They only do 2 excursions per day so make sure to book in advance. Can’t wait to return soon : )

We had a fantastic boat trip and scuba dive experience with Michele and Valentina from Scuba Diving Buceo Pedernales. They are very professional, attentive, and passionate about preserving the beautiful aquatic life of this bay. We learnt about the history of the area and the marine life in these waters. They were very generous with lending me a snorkelling kit whilst the others dived with bottles. Highly recommended!

My family spent a few days glamping in Bahia de las Aguilas over our winter break, and the afternoon guided snorkeling trip with Valentina and Michele was the highlight of our experience. They are fun, friendly, professional, and very good stewards of the sea. Valentina knew right where to take us to see all manner of sea life and coral and it was hands down the best snorkeling we've had since we moved to the Dominican Republic several years ago. The next morning, both my girls jumped up from the breakfast table to run over and give Valentina a hug and say goodbye before we left to return home, and we will definitely be coming back for another trip with them.

Almost 20 years in love with La República Dominicana, and now even more thanks to the underwater discoveries in Bahía De Las Águilas! Michele and Valentina are real experts in the diving domain with nice personalities. I had the opportunity to have a private and last-minute arranged multi-day course to become a licenced open water diver just before their holidays started. Really flexible and professional small-scale diving center, run by dedicated and passionate people! Easily reached by bicycle from Pedernales or from the free camping spot next door ;-)

I highly recommend diving with Scuba Diving Buceo Pedernales for the following reasons: 1. They are part of “greenfins” and as such they make sure that diving does not negatively impact nature and they actively contribute to protect the nature in the beautiful Bahia de las Aguilas area (which is starting to get developed) 2. Valentina is very knowledgeable about the area and she shared her knowledge with me; 3. Valentina is also a great dive instructor; I felt 100 percent safe diving with her; 5. They have excellent and safe diving equipment, which is very important for me; 6. They are caring people and dive for the love of diving; which is getting harder to find in the diving business. They even helped me with my continuing travels. Do not hesitate to dive with these lovely people!

They are lovely, heartwarming, fun people! and they care for the preservation of the beautiful and delicate environment they operate in: coral reefs and the ecosystem that makes this place unique. I chose to do a diving initiation (they also do snorkeling) and loved it! The boat ride is fun with beautiful and close up views of the cliffs before the beach. They patiently walked me through the theory (in English) and the dive was great, with a slow and easy start by the beach to ease you in, and then further out to the precious corals! I had a lovely experience and highly recommend to book a tour with them. I’m general, it’s a great way to experience this beautiful area, which is hard to reach.
