Howth Rhododendron Gardens

Botanical garden

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Amazing place with medieval castle and Ben of Howth nearby. We visited in mid-March, so nothing was blooming yet, but still a breathtaking view.

There are a lot of beautiful rhododendrons trees. They cover all the hill to the top. There a lot of paths through gardens. The colours are white, pink, red, violet. The blooming season is the middle of May. The gardens can be accessible from the right side of Deer Park Golf Cafe Entrance or from the Bog of Frogs Loop, Howth Cliff Purple Path.

Amazing place 😍 easy to find from deer golf club car park, but if you go from other side , better ask for directions! View from the top is stunning

To call it a gardens is too over estimate what it is, a few nice flowers/tees between a golf course Little to no signage as to where it is or to say what way to go or if there even is a set path Went so far twice and saw the golf course so just had to turn back and walk all the way back to entrance

Hidden gem! Once you discover it you will keep coming back. Make sure to go when they are in bloom and also when they fall down (you will be walking carpets of flowers). Worth going up for the sunset as well. There are few paths you can take depending on your fitness / health level but they are not marked so best to ask others on the way.

Worth a hike to the top of the hill for great views of Howth and Sutton. Walk to the Deer Park GC and head to the right, past the pro shop. You'll find a path leading to the Gardens. Take the trail to the left to hike up to the top of the hill. Didn't see much in the way of Rhododendrons or gardens, but there were many trails to walk and great views from the top.
