30 years ago a American man, from Ohio brought a taste to Ireland... And God bless him for doing it right. A huge selection of burgers, and I have complete confidence they all taste fantastic... Just based on eating there twice. Be careful though, Americans do bigger portions so you know you will be well fed. The pattys are all handmade and juicy. They offer sweet potatoes "Yams" fries, which I recommend if you don't want chips. Of the desserts, I would only recommend the Apple pie. Not saying the other desserts are bad I didn't even try them. But Instantly you can tell apple pie is different. They make this themselves and you will not find similar in Ireland. The surprise of this is the base which is a cake mixture. Soft, sweet and works better than a normal pasty or shortcrust base. And somehow if you finish your meal and are still hungry, like any American Dinner they have a challenge. The 5x5! See pics and you will not believe the record for 5 Burgers, 5 cheese slices, 5 bacon strips, 1lb coleslaw, 1lb of chips.

My wife & I are in town on a vacation (holiday) bus tour from America and wanted something better than hotel food. This place is FANTASTIC! We had Wings & a burger and they were both delicious. The staff were all super friendly and so were the other customers. Made us feel very welcome. If we ever come back to Galway we'll definitely visit Scotty's again. Thanks guys!

Found this place by luck and I'm already hooked. Every time we're around we are coming back. I recommend this place to friends and followers and will do again and again. You will never leave this place disappointed or hungry. The menu is extensive and contains wide range of different burgers so if you're a burger lover you just have to go and dine in this place. You'll experience firework of flavours while eating. Staff is also very attentive so 5 stars from me and I see you all in Scotty's soon.

Food is great and they are absolutely lovely to deal with. Durango fries - which is like a dressed fries, topped with salsa, jalapenos, cheese and more - is a personal favourite!

I liked a lot the menu. If you are hungry this is the right place to go. Triple, Quadruple... or other giant food items on it, that will never let you leave the place with empty stomach. Service is perfect, very polite and professional all the staff members that approached me. I really appreciated the big glass made bottle of water they offer. The burger was very good, perhaps just a bit dry, but the sauces and salads that did accompanied it were a good match. The menu is quite fulfilled with many different dishes...you need to come everyday for a month in order to try everything!

Real gem of a spot. We were in Galway for a stag and were staying on the outskirts of the city so found this on maps. Service was outstanding. I mean that in the truest sense of the word. With the hospitality industry struggling to find staff, this place was clearly focusing on great customer experience! The manager was very attentive and visible at all times. We were told that they had a few trainees working and honestly you wouldn’t have known, it’s great to be served by people who have been well trained! The food was top notch! I love the American style menu with smash burgers and all! The milkshakes are unbelievable! I actually ordered way too much food because I wanted to try a lot of stuff on the menu but I regret nothing! Next time I’m in Galway I’ll be sure to make it my business go stop in again!

This place is tucked away In a little car park. I walked in and it was quite busy, which is good to see. Food was served fast and fresh. Friendly hostess and waitress. Suddenly wanted to eat a hamburger. so Googled this restaurant. The decoration has the feeling kind of bright American home. With the comfortable wooden seats. As well as the various photos frames and decos on the walls. As for the hamburgers, there are many choices, all very good beef, and the taste is so good. We ordered different hamburgers all of them are solid and tasty. I want to try all of its other flavors next time.

We accidentally found this restaurant when we were heading back to limerick from Galway and wanted to stop for a bite on the way. The restaurant, the food and the customer service was brilliant. We ordered the wings and they were delicious. All the burgers are big, delicious and filling. They have a lot of options for meat burgers. My friends enjoyed choosing from so many options. But myself being a vegetarian I only had one option. But their vegetarian burger was delicious but I would enjoy if they had a few options too.

I was here for lunch on Sunday. Absolutely delighted with my experience! When I went in my first thought was...American Fast Food. Couldn't be more wrong! Yes the look is of an American Diner but a 5 stars one! Was here with husband, 3 kids and a new born baby. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Service fast. Food delicious! Big portions...even the kids meal are quite big! Loved my veggie burger! Salad was very fresh and the honey mustard sauce super tasty. My husband was also delighted with his special burger of the day! We will definitely go back!

Ever since we first visited a couple of years ago the food and staff have been consistently great. This place is a must for us to visit whenever we're in Galway. Proper diner food, a Galway classic. I remember going to the Middle Street restaurant as a teenager, when there was nowhere like it in the city. In many ways, there is nowhere like it again: amid all the hipster joints with reclaimed odds for furniture and ware, named for some pun in Old Norse, growing their superfoods on the outside of the building, Scotty stands alone (albeit a little further from the Square), cooking quality food well, a little bit decadently. I see too that the crew there seem to respond to a lot of their reviews on here, which sets them apart in at least one more way - they actually care that their guests enjoyed their experience. That's all too rare in the town these days indeed. To summarise, get the wings.

Really nice greeting, I had a pineapple burger with a side of chips and BBQ chicken wings. The burger was massive, in both size and taste. Incredible burger! The Chips were superior to most other places to eat so I highly recommend the chips. BBQ wings are so different everywhere you go, Scotty's BBQ wing were amazing. Absolutely no complaints from the second I walked in right up to leaving. Highly recommended.

I ordered online through whatsfordinner. Food was okay, but I paid for a coke that never arrived, and ordered an atomic hot sauce and they gave me blue cheese sauce instead.

Wouldnt call Scottys a regular place I would visit, but everytime I do visit,I wonder why its not. There really is little , if anything to fault with this joint. I think the location is the main reason I simply forget to go there. Anyways....foodage. unreal. Arrived without a reservation and with a starved 3 year old , this was in no way a problem for the lady at the door who greeted us. She let us know we had until 6 to finish (this was ample time as we arrived at 5) this was all down to the new Covid Protocols. Crayons and colours for the little one which she could bring home :) she had a cheese burger and twisty fries, and there was no difference in the patties, the kids get the same high quality mouth watering burgers that the adults do. The twisty fries were a big hit too, changing up the regular old chips and the portion size, was more than adequate. For myself I got the cheese burger and cheese fries and my god was the burger good, actually good is an understatement, it was saaaavage. Now , if I'm to be huuuuglely critical and if i had to pick out something i didnt like, it would be the bun. While the bun i got was actually flawless, a beautiful brown bun and soooooo fresh, i would have preferred a typical brioche or simple white bun, but again, this is me being needlessly picky. If I got the exact same burger again I would be just as happy. Overall, brilliant experience as always, fantastic staff and chef and the waiting staff are fantastic too. Never too far from you if you need something, but not on top of you either. Very family friendly , especially with the little ones, and considering the ingredients used and the quality the food is more than well priced. Highly recommend and will definately go again ( when I think of it) and you should too :)

Great flavour and super MEALS

Superb food and excellent service in surroundings that are the essence of Galway. Very knowledgeable servers give a very good breakdown of the menus if required and good knowledge of the wines they serve also. The star here is the ingredients that come through in each bite, fabulous sauces and foraged herbs and greens all in all three courses of heaven, highly recommend and pricing was bang on.

Incredible food, the ingredients are amazing and local and fresh. Charge for the bottomless bottles of water but it goes to charity, when we went it was going to the people of Lebanon after the explosion. The monkfish and lobster risotto is A1, and the vegan chocolate cheesecake was incredible. The staff are so lovely and help Make the atmosphere relaxed but well attended to

The whole experience was 5*. The ambience, the decor, the service and all courses were just super tasty. Packed with flavour. But not too heavy. Just loved it all. Will be hard to beat on the rest of our mini break to the west of Ireland!

We loved this place! Was recommended by a friend back home and was so glad we had dinner here. Really trendy place right on the water. Excellent food. Even a good selection of unique gift items for sale. Definitely recommend if you’re in Galway and want something other than the numerous pubs that permeate the area.

For vegetarians like myself, who often despair at the variety of food on offer in hotels and restaurants, then this place is an absolute gem - Ard Bia at Nimmos in Galway, a spit of an apple pip away from the Spanish Arch. We are just back from a socially distanced, short break to the west where we spent a gorgeous evening in this restaurant, and a vegetarian menu that offered the most creative and delicious dishes we have tasted this summer. The staff are wonderfully attentive and friendly, and rightfully proud of their food and restaurant. After two days of quinoa burgers, lentil curry and nachos, Nimmos was a delight. Please pay a visit. Restaurants like this should be cherished :)

13euro for a side salad & a hunk of bread. A starter not a main course . Though the Manager loudly offered to bulk up same dish with rice for her mate. Then as we left she spoke loudly about how little money she earns. Ard Bia has lost its touch. Pizza on the street at the Quays was better. I won't be back & certainly wouldn't recommend it again.

Would gladly give this place 100 stars if I could. Went there last night and had the tagliatelle. In my life I have had some wonderful tagliatelle but this was in a league of its own, the wine by the glass was excellent but the dessert — blueberry ice cream with mint meringues might have been the very best thing I have tasted ever!

Had avocado and egg with salmon. Tasted amazing. Flat white coffee was very good as well. Had a cozy window seat with a view of the water. Service was friendly and quick.

Was here last night in the upstairs room.The food and service was impeccable, our waitress was very friendly and made some great recommendations, great to see such good staff being kept on after the covid closures. The owner was also very hospitable and is doing a great job with covid safety measures in place without feeling in the way at all. Would recommend everyone to visit here if in Galway!

This is the first Google review I've ever done, but I had to do it because Scotty's truly is a special place. I've had some good chicken wings across Ireland and in the United States but Scotty's have to be some of the best. Crispy on the outside with some great barbeque and hot sauces. The toffee milkshake was damn good as well. Scotty clearly cares about making quality food and making sure you have an enjoyable experience at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and the food came out hot and quick. Anytime I'm back in Galway I'll be stopping by for a bite.

Amazing hamburgers! They are big and full of things, and you have lots of them to choose from. We asked for skins as starters and it was disappointing because it was 12€ per 3 half empty potatoes with some cheese and bacon, and not really tasty. But it's a good place for a nice meal. I'll come back soon!

From tomato sauce mild to Ghost Chili and even Carolina Reaper! I went here for lunch today with my son because Scotty's is a kind of a special treat with me and my kids. Probably the best American-style dining in the country. Scotty and his wife Jenny are dab hands in the trade and really know how to make your experience 100% enjoyable every time. You really can't go wrong here. All the classics, a massive list of burgers with everything you can imagine, grilled to perfection from fresh every time. Wings, nachos, ribs, and of course the steaks. Great for before a match, and perfect for families with kids. We love Scotty's and we will continue to go on special occasions as long as they are serving!
