This is a genuine nice find and legitimate great Italian place! 2022 Update: was able to dine in person and couldn't be happier with the atmosphere and service!

Visiting from out of town and I saw this place had 4.8stars so had to check it out.Very quaint eatery with the old school checkered table that made me think of pizza hut...lol. the Lasagna was outstanding and probably on my top 3! Staff was friendly. The only thing that would have made it better was a little music playing in the background

This was my first visit, I was working in the area and thought I would give this place a try. Lasagna sounded good. I ordered the lasagna and good was an understatement, it was great with a lot of savoury flavor. The warm fresh bread was also delicious. I left full and happy. Everyone seemed very nice. If I'm in the area again, I would like to eat here again, and not neglect dessert next time.

Best Muffaletta I have EVER had. This authentic hole-in-the-wall Italian Deli is the real deal! 🇮🇹✨ I look forward to their other menu items. Such as their poboy sandwiches and lasagna! Really wish I got to experience this place back when it was on Florida Blvd.

Love Marco and his staff. Food is always excellent. Probably the best muffalotta in town. I end up getting the meatball poboy most trips. Pasta salad is a great value for the large.

Went there on our Friday cheat day. We showed up without reading a single review. After reading them now, I do not have the words to expound even more. The Lasagna certainly was excellent, lives up to the hype. Flavor was indeed extraordinary. Everyone in the place was super nice, it's like a neighborhood restaurant and so many customers were known by name. It seems I am an unfortunate as I left with no dessert . Honestly I had no room for it. The bread was good as well. The salad... Not my favorite dressing , but certainly not deduction worthy. I will visit again when in the vicinity.

From the pasta salad to the sandwiches, everything was phenomenal. Quick, great, hot food. And the girl who works up front (cara) is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Run here for lunch, don’t walk

My wife has been raving about this place. Finally got to go and didn't disappoint at all. The lasagna was amazing her sandwich was amazing. I will definitely be going back. Little small is the only thing, be prepared to take it to-go.

Tried Anthony’s for the first time. Not a place I’ll go back to for a couple of reasons. First of all the staff was pleasant and the salad was very good. However the muffuletta was not a bad sandwich but not like any Muffuletta I’ve ever had. It was heated in a sandwich press and the bread toasted, the cheese melted. Oh well that’s a matter of taste, but the reason I’ll not return is the employee carrying a gun. I’m not anti-gun, but having an armed staff member is not necessary and potentially dangerous. Maybe he is an off duty police officer, but assuming he’s not… I’ll not be back.

My daughter & I ate here back in March prior to a LSU-Central Arkansas Baseball game I was working that night. A friend of mine brought me here, & this was the best deli I’ve ever eaten at. I love the family owned & operated aspect, & I love the atmosphere of the deli & Italian market. The sandwiches were fantastic, & it was nice to be in a place where they not only care about their regulars, but their new customers as well. If I ever make it back to Baton Rouge, this will easily be one place I make a point to eat at once again!

Holy cow, best meatballs in town! And the service is so warm and friendly! Affordable but delicious! The owners are above and beyond friendly and welcoming! The salad with their signature dressing is amazing!

Love this place not only do we get to eat their we also get to take home fresh cut mordello and my favorite the pepper shooters. There is much more available to shop for. The place is small quaint and definitely like a family .

They were so kind, patient, and understanding when I popped a tire and had to leave my car parked in their lot overnight. My friend and I decided to grab something to eat while we were waiting on the tow truck and we’re so glad we did! The sandwiches were fantastic and the staff was even better. Truly some of the friendliest, most inviting individuals I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with. I’m almost happy I popped a tire so I had a reason to stop in and discover this little gem. Thanks again, and I’ll definitely be coming back :)

Been coming here for years now, crazy I'm just now hitting up this review. People, this is a staple in Baton Rouge. It's a no brainer. This is an authentic Italian deli/restaurant. Mr. Anthony knows how to serve it up proper, with the whole menu filled with front to back bangers. My personal favorite is the meatball poboy, it's off the charts good, and tastes like the meatballs were made by somebody's nonna from Sicily. MOLTO BENE!!! Go here. Treat yourself. Trust me.

After looking up reviews to find the best muffuletta sandwich around, while on a road trip, I landed at Anthony's. Not only was the food and service AMAZING 2 hours into my road trip I realized I had left my purse. I tried to call the store and they were closed so I had no choice but to keep driving. The crew here is so awesome that when they discovered my purse the actually shipped it to me! This place is a hidden gem you don't want to miss!

Muffaletta was dope. Great toasted bread and homemade olive mix. Got some frozen bolognese and Italian sausage (made in-house) to go. Friendly staff, too!

First thing I would like to mention is the kindness of the owners! It was our first time there and they were very friendly :) We tried the lasagna, and the spaguetti with italian sausage and one of the ir sándwiches with some marinated onions (amazing) For dessert we had Tiramisu, Chocolate Tartufo cake and a Toasted almond cup, it was perfect! Thank you for everything, it was delicious!!!!!

Great place that's been there over 45 years. I'm from Dallas and was recommended the Muffaletta and Canoli. Yum

I hadn't been in a while, so I had to get the best hot pressed poboy on government street. The Italian lover at Anthony's. Consistently fresh, hot, and seasoned with lightly pickled onions, the poboy did not disappoint. It was excellent. The muffuletta salad also looked very good, and low carb. My friend said his meatball poboy was excellent. I didn't get a picture of it. 🤦‍♂️ I will say I had the lasagna on a previous visit, which was velvety smooth. I will get that again, the next time I go. Check out the pics ...

Fuhgettaboutit. Best Italian food in Baton Rouge and on a very short list of the best in the state of Louisiana. It’s all good but I especially love the sandwiches. Show yourself some love and eat at Anthony’s as often as you can.

My wife was making some scratch carbonara and sent me on a errand to obtain some guanciale. Not only did they have it, but the sweet Italian lady even taught me how to pronounce the word "gwan-CHA-lay!" and offered to cut it however I needed. I ended up getting a New Orleans Style Muffoletta (their specialty) and a Godfather to bring home (sadly not a real Italian Godfather, but the sandwich was the next best thing). Sorry, I couldn't refuse. Ok I'll stop, but seriously, best muffoletta I've ever had and the Godfather, much like the movie, did not disappoint.

I tried Anthony's Deli for the first time today. I ordered lunch to split with a coworker. The muffaletta was one of the best I have ever had. It wasn't oily and great like others. Their homemade olive salad was pepbably the best I have ever tried. The meatballs were tender and flavorful and savory. The staff was friendly and accompdating. I definitely will return, thanks for the great lunch! This is definitely the best Italian in all Baton Rouge!

Really good food and cute tables to sit at. Portions were very large and I left full! Reasonably priced. Cups for drinks could be improved but I enjoyed the restaurant a lot. Will go back when I'm in Louisiana again!

Italian Deli's are, by their design, bastions of deli-meat heaven...luscious, flavorful, and lip-smacking. As I travel, on business, these types of deli's are always on top of the list, and Anthony's certainly delivered. The sandwich, The Italian Lover, held together by a soft Italian bread, had a solid selection of cured meats with some veggies (lettuce & marinated onions), topped with a slightly-sweet oil dressing, possibly balsamic-based. The sandwich is then put on a heated panini press. The resulting, toasted, 'wich, came through with the sweet, salty, pickled yumminess that is an Italian sub. There's definitely an eat-in option and a nice patio section up front to enjoy your meal. Staff was polite and I had my order in less than 10 min. If you're a local there are certainly pre-made dishes you can take home and enjoy in front your TV and latest binge-fest. The price was fair for the meal and the atmosphere was that a "local" haunt. Certainly worth returning and enjoying additional selection.

I haven't been to Anthony's Deli since they moved into the new location, which was probably +5 years ago. I'm realizing now that their absence from my life is hands down the largest regret I'll ever have. The muffoletta I ordered could not have been more perfect, you can tell that the little Italian woman in the kitchen made it with love.

It's the best Italian food I've had in Louisiana. There's something to say for its consistency as well, it's the same quality food since they moved from Florida Blvd years ago and everytime I go it's great service and the same great taste. The desserts, coffees, and canned goods that they sell are the same types that I find at my Nonnas house and they're all worth a try. I like the sandwiches and muffuletta alot but my all time favorites have to be the spaghetti and the lasagna because I just haven't found anywhere else in Louisiana that does it like my Italian grandmother. Savory sauce with meatballs/sausage done the way I like. I'm not a big fan of the New Orleans style "add a cup of white sugar" to your Red Sauce that we see alot in Louisiana. So I appreciate Anthony's keeping it real with the savory tomato sauce. And their side salad with light amount of olive salad, oil/vinegar, and parmesan..👌 They're doing it right.
