Literally just opened!!!! My new spot to get my Kaki Fry fix (Japanese crumbed fried oysters, which is harder to come by and these are made fresh not the frozen ones!!! And I just had the Kaki fry the night before at kuromatsu, and was complaining to my husband that they must have changed hands coz the oyster was no longer nice. So happy I found this new Japanese cafe! Katsu curry had a mild kick at the end, very nice! Fish Karaage set is another surprise with salmon as the main ingredient and the deep fried onsen egg is delicious and delicate flavoured. I am going back to try some more Japanese cafe food. East Doncaster finally has its own Japanese cafe and it even has hojicha latte on the menu!!!! We also tried the tempura udon and it’s definitely the quality Japanese made udon noodles (the frozen one not the shelf life one) and stock rather than the Korean or Taiwanese made udon noodles, the stock has very strong bonito flakes flavour I could have drink the whole bowl of soup if I was not so full. The sashimi is fresh and very high grade quality. We had king fish and salmon. The price is definitely cafe prices but the quality is a restaurant quality. Kaki fry -$16 Katsu curry $15 Latte 4.20 They just open so service is slightly slow but the food made up 300 percent for it. Next time I want to try the Katsu Sando, take the kids back for kids meal and some other stuff. I ordered my hojicha latte so have to go back for that and the green tea latte and the yuzu soda.

Just had a lovely breakfast at Ikoi Cafe. Enjoyed the chicken Katsu sandwich, the banana walnut cake is divine. Fantastic coffee. Can't wait to go back to try the many Japanese dishes on offer. Very reasonable prices. Check the Daily Specials board out front - updated daily.

Returned for their Curry Chicken Katsu on rice daily lunch special, only to find they are now serving HALF the portion of the chicken for the same price. One side of the chicken is not crumbed, quite obviously cut in half. Dish is still fresh and tasty but the menu photo needs to be more accurately reflect the dish.

Had really good Japanese food. Very authentic and tasty. We were fortunate enough to come when they had specials on. Definitely coming back and highly recommend it to anyone thinking of trying!

I really like their coffee, it is very smooth and no bitterness. The wagyu beef slice on Japanese rice Gyu Don was extremely tasty, and I also had the egg salad sandwiches which is very different from how I would make it at home. Will be back to try the Anura Salmon Don next time

Great place to eat in Doncaster East, has authentic Japanese cuisine mixed with some food that you would normally see at a normal cafe. Super great food and lovely staff

A delicious little gem of a Japanese cafe in Doncaster. We got the Fish Karaage set with agedashi tofu and houjicha. The fish karaage was cooked well and was made with their own home made blend of king fish and salmon. It was fried very well and the rice with the egg were very flavorful too with Japanese seasoning. The complimentary miso soup was also quite authentic and delicious. The staff were very professional and friendly. The houjicha was pretty good too just a little milky. Overall we had a good experience, we enjoyed the food and would come back to try other dishes.

Coffee is always perfectly made and the staff are so lovely. I also had the Teriyaki set for lunch last time I visited and it was delish! Great presentation, authentic food made with fresh ingredients and wonderful service always with a genuine smile. Love it!

Had lunch to try this new Japanese cafe. Ordered a fish karaage set, so it came with rice, boiled fried egg, miso soup, and tiny vegetables as a side. It tasted good but not my favourites as the fish was salmon - I’m not a fan of salmon. Probably I missed the detail in the menu about fish karaage. Definitely will come back to try other menu.

My 10yrs old son reviews: Amazing food! I ordered salmon roll sushi and they were great and delicious and came very quickly. The staff even offered FREE extra milkshake to my kid. The staff were very very kind. The atmosphere is ok but could be better Five stars! Also great coffee. Totally recommend!

I accidentally stumbled upon this place while visiting my mother at the rehab hospital. I can safely say they have the best sake don I’ve ever had. The service is great and the people are wonderful. They’ve also tempted me to try new things like a roasted green tea latte (it was amazing). Would recommend to anyone in the area.

My first impression was the atmosphere and decor was really lovely and the staff very friendly. We sat down to which Henry served us and we discovered he went to school with my friend some years back, and he works hard every day with his family here who owns the cafe. Our food came and I was very impressed. My banana smoothie was very fresh and yummy, my udon beautiful as well as the gyoza. And the tiramisu was a great end to the experience which we received for free from the owner. So generous ❤️ Definitely recommend this place, the high reviews speak for itself. Absolutely no complaints. Thank you Henry and his family for a great dining experience today.

Attention all VEGANS! Fantastic tofu poke plate at Ikoi Cafe, absolutely delicious, bright and fresh. Yuzu dressing was excellent. It came with a lovely miso soup filled with seaweed and tofu. I also ordered an iced green tea without the cream, it was fragrant and beautiful, sat outside at a shady table which was CLEAN ! Customer service was great...Thank you!

We enjoyed our meal, the staff was pleasant and welcoming. Tasty Japanese food at a very reasonable price. We ordered chicken karaage , beef gyudon and aburi salmon. A Must try lunch specials Fish Karaage set and udon Inari sushi set for $16.50 Highly recommend this place.
