Lovely environment and very friendly customer service. The dishes impressed me with light but distinct flavor. Love the prawn, fried chicken and banana pie. A place I will definitely visit again.

We didn't expect such refined flavour from a newly opened inconspicuous little bistro in the burbs. The vegetarian-friendly mushroom dish was one of our favourites! It was mouth watering, packed full of flavour yet balanced and paired well with pumpkin pancakes. The king prawns were cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. The beef was tender and paired well with the side of bao buns. All of the dishes were awesome on their own but even better for sharing! For desert the ricotta donuts were soft, fluffy and rolled in cinnamon sugar and generously proportioned. We also had the decadent dark chocolate tart which tasted like it could've came straight from a fine French patisserie. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs and for the amount we ate expected to pay much more for this quality of food. We will definitely be back and cannot recommend this highly enough. I feel like there are no similar restaurants in the area, so it's certainly unique. It's a fairly casual environment with great food that aims for a fine dining experience. It's not quite fine dining, but the chef knows what he is doing and probably experiments a bit (which is a good thing). It does lack a little finesse but I'll certainly be back as the price point is right. I hope they keep doing what they do with seasonal menus. My favourite dish was probably the pork belly but the grilled calamari was a close second (cooked perfectly but the sauce was a bit sweet for my liking).

Finally, a restaurant in the burbs that I can brag to my inner city mates about! The Asian fusion food and wine selections are absolute top quality and the service is warm and friendly. Chef Nick takes pride in his menu and chatting with him about the dishes adds to what is already a great dining experience. Do your taste buds a favour and book a table now before the word gets out about this suburban gem. You won't be disappointed.

Had dinner here today and was very impressed. All the food was excellent and presented very well, some good gluten free and dairy free options too. I can especially recommend the steak and the fried potatoes. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a great ambience - decor was beautiful and the playlist matched. We'll be back!

Such a wonderful hidden gem. We ordered the tofu and cauliflower entrees. The Beef cheeks and Pork Belly mains and the Potato and greens - LOVED every single item. The team were also so lovely. Great to support small business - this place is great!!!

Possibly the biggest culinary secret in Melbourne's eastern Suburbs. Chef formerly of Rockpool and various establishments within China. Fantastic service and the food is off the scale. We went the $69 set menu which was mind blowingly good. Apparently we were only the third group to ever order it. Plenty of value options too.

Absolutely delightful experience at Mandarin Bistro! The ambiance is inviting, and the food is incredibly yummy. The service is top-notch, making the entire dining experience memorable. They also have an excellent selection of wines to complement the flavors. Highly recommend for a satisfying and enjoyable meal!

This is a nice cosy casual restaurant tucked in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Food is flavoursome and well-presented. We ordered a main each (braised beef short rib, roasted pork belly and lamb ribs) plus an additional main from the blackboard specials to share (tiger prawns). Service from Nick and Bell was attentive and customer friendly. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Best meal I have had out since pre-covid. The waitress named Bell was so sweet and everyone was so attentive. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, and the price was so reasonable - 5 plates, tea, drinks and dessert only $115 for 2 people. Will absolutely be back!

Loved our visit! What a great menu for the area. Had the pork belly and the barramundi special for mains, and the calamari, soft shell crab, edamame, for sides finishing with the basque cheesecake. Brilliant feed, intimate night. Nick is a champion and we want them to stay in the area. Will be back again very soon

What a beauty! Just like everyone else, blown away by the beautiful food and hospitality. How lucky we are to have such an incredible restaurant out in the burbs. Second time for dinner last night delicious pineapple and prawn dish was next level, determined to keep returning and try everything on the menu. 🫶
