Beautiful spot with lots of trails. Great walking, running, biking areas. Some lovely tight walking trails and an old aqueduct and military rifle pits with some information on historical use

Get out and about in this great Flora and Forna park, 90% of the park is relatively flat with very well defined paths which a few have historical markers highlighting a very different use for the land during world war II. Wildlife is hard to spot but over the times I have spotted Wallabies,Echidna, Blue Tongue lizards and a few snakes along with a wide variety of birds.

This reserve has some amazing trail walks that lead you through the bush. Each trail comes out in a different part from where you started from You can walk for 20 minutes or 2 hours your choice. It also holds some some interesting information that is noted around the trails.

Calm, beautiful and serene. Wonderful place to go for a walk in nature. Do yourself a favour and take time out of your morning to walk the trails. One of my favourite ways to start the day.

Great natural bushland reserve in the middle of suburbia. A few roos as well, lots of echidna diggings but have to be very lucky to see one. Plenty of spring flowers and orchids out at present.

A lot of people out there waking now, more than prior to lock down restrictions . Just need people to NOT bring dogs there, have noticed some dog droppings along paths :( and have also told 3 different people they can't bring their dog in there in the car park who were not aware that it is a reserve and dogs not allowed :(

It can get very muddy along the Emu Wren track when you first enter the reserve but it's a likable place for an evening walk. There are lots of beautiful birds hanging around the reserve and you'll be able to enjoy their songs as you hike along. Photos taken by my mum earlier today. 28th of August 2:21-3 PM.

Great bike riding park if you want some easy trails. Apart from some lumps and bumps on the SEC track, the entire park can be navigated with an ordinary bike. The south end has horse riding trails. Some interesting WW1 military history too! Note: If anyone is put off by the busy car park and the probability that it is a place where lovelorn gentlemen meet similar lovelorn gentlemen there are other entrances on the East side of Centre break and along the south perimeter.

Infested with rabbits, foxes and cats - both feral and the pets of people neighbouring the park. No pest management appears to take place here.

Great place to explore and take in nature and some of the wildlife. Honestly never knew there was wallabees in the area until spotting one. A lovely place to get away from all the noise and hassle of life :)

Good walking/cycling path but wishing for more canopies of trees on a scorching day.Saw echidna, eastern rosella, rainbow lorikeets and more.Love the military historical connection dating back to 1886.

Enjoyed an easy, relaxing circuit walk on a perfect, windless autumn afternoon. This was my first visit to the Reserve. It was interesting to discover the historical aspect; its former use as a military training ground, WW1 POW camp and hospital. Visits at other seasons will no doubt reveal a greater variety of flora. Similarly, the early morning visitor should enjoy seeing greater bird activity.

You could be deep in the bush....lots of curious pathways to explore, blue wrens, monarch πŸ¦‹, a reservoir, dunes, beautiful flora and hardly any people on a weekday. Take a water bottle and access to GPS on the tracks as it is easy to get lost the first time. They are all labelled though. There are no toilets but there are also few flies.

A rewarding nature reserve with much to see for the patient and observant. The park is a bit of a final stand for many species of flora & fauna now rare on the Mornington Peninsula. A number of different vegetation communities are found in the park. Mainly Heathland and Stringybark woodland. Some areas are badly affected by Cinnamon Fungus die-back and/or invasive species like Sydney Sallow Wattle and Sweet Pittosporum. Risk Management burns over the last decade have also really crippled some areas ecologically. Excellent well marked trails, a couple of the more vulnerable or significant tracks are "No Bikes Allowed". Horse riding is permitted around most of the outer boundary except the western side. Snakes are present and most active in Summer, mainly Tiger Snakes and Copperheads. No cats or dogs are allowed in reserve including in the car parks.

Beautiful reserve with lush bushland and practical walking/biking trails. Native Australian wildlife is abundant here, you may even be lucky enough to see a kangaroo or echidna! There are many types of flowers and other species of flora creating a visual wonder solely from the natural works of life. A perfect place for families, photographers and people looking to appreciate and seek solace in the beauty of nature.

It's the best place for walking trails for long or a short walk, there are many tracks to follow with instructions. I enjoy listening to birds and seeing different trees. If you like to walk I recommend flora and fauna reserve in Langwarrin, Vic are the best. "Love it".

Always a great place to go for a walk and in the majority of weather conditions too. A few trees have fallen after the last big storm has gone through so you might need to go off track in some places

Great easy walks and plenty of information around to inform you of the parks past. No bins so be prepared to take your rubbish out with you. Plenty of wildlife to be seen even on the dreary cold day we went. Kids loved it.

Wide open spaces, kids enjoyed picking things and placing in baskets for our nature walk. I don’t know if it is because it’s winter - but only saw one flower where we were (we didn’t go far) but would be nice to return maybe in the spring. All in all was good to be in the bush , felt so natural and calming

Great place for a walk, play spot the bird or wildlife on the tracks. It would be really helpful if the signage at the end of each track included an arrow to return to the centre track - and then one pointing to the car park when you get the centre track so you know which way to go. Can be quite exhausting when you've wandered around & lost your bearings. As a person with mobility issues, it would have been great to have an indication if a track is a bit tricky before we got 3/4 of the way down it and had to turn back. Other than that it was a lovely walk. We saw a lizard, lots of tiny sweet birds, and an echidna. I don't know if it's feasible, but a water fountain would have been much appreciated.

Great place for a walk, run or cycle. Amazing reserve that lets you escape suburbia for a few hours and get back to nature (you'll even see the odd kangaroo, wombat, wallaby). There's km's of walking tracks that are all in very good condition. You'll need good walking shoes, but thankfully the place never gets too muddy even with plenty of rain. For those interested in history, this place is a former army training ground and was even used to house POWs during the World Wars. There's a few information boards scattered few the reserve that give plenty of info around this.

Like a walk, jog, bike-ride in the nature? Drop by and check it out. Appart from a good veriety of birds flitting about among a very mixed plant life. In this park there are also Wallabies, echidnas and of course Rabbitses? See what else you discover. Great for the young adventurers to learn how to navigate their way out without GPS? Picnic is not encouraged, but the best area to have a break in the shade of some large trees is, on the right hand side as you walk in from the main Center-Break carpark (off McClelland Drive) through the gates (never locked). Appart from the tracks, this Forrest area is the only area where the ground is reasonably clear of decaying branches and therefore probably the best area where the kids can run around trees without too much of a chance for negative impact on the park or themselves.

A great spot for a walk with open tracks and some narrower windy paths. Make sure you bring and leave with everything as the only facility is parking.

  • 5/5 Chris K. 1 year ago on Google
It's a nice walk with trails of various lengths that all lead back to the main trail so you can't get lost. It's even more fun at night. Dogs are not permitted:(
