Lovely food, good atmosphere but the wait staff don't give you much attention. They don't seem to check how the meals are or if we needed anything else. Customer service is a bit here nor there. There was some great traditional Greek music playing. Overall, a good night out. A word of warning: this place has terrible acoustics if you're trying to have a nice meal out and want to talk to each other, especially for someone elderly or has poor hearing. Shouting is the only option or getting a table out on the enclosed deck where you may be able to hear each other a bit better. It's a very busy restaurant so I guess the staff are always rushed off their feet and don't seem to find the time to attend to their customers in their designated areas. They do however take notice if something isn't quite right either. We ordered some dips with pita bread on one occasion, and we realised they had sent the wrong dip out and my aunt couldn't handle the heat of it so we asked our waitress to see if we could get what we ordered, and she was more than happy to assist and bring out the right one.

Super delicious. As soon as you arrive you can smell the good cooking. Their kitchen is also open so you can see how transparent they are with the food. I ordered the fish wrap to go with some spicy sauce and no regrets. Bonus in that it is in a beautiful, popular area by the Yarra River with lots of restaurants and view of the water.

Gorgeous sunset views at this very busy Greek restaurant. Loving the freshness of seafood platter. Even though they are super busy they handle things very professionally. Reservations are a must. Live music is such a nice touch!

The service (or lack thereof) really took the shine of what would otherwise have been a great meal. I still have to give 4 stars though as the restaurant is well placed with balcony overlooking the river, and the food was excellent. But the service was terrible. Three times we had to go up to the front of the restaurant to ask someone to come over so we could order more food, drinks and desserts. Clearly no one there owns shares in the place as we could have eating and drunk plenty more with a more attentive wait staff.

Fresh sea food. Expensive but good. We ordered the Seafood platter that had scallops, octopus, squid, prawns, baramundi, anchovies, some beers and Chicken Gyro. Food was good, a bit pricey though probably cause of its location.

Great place for a fantastic meal. Band was tremendous. Only suggestion is to make a little room for some dancing. Otherwise fantastic tavern. Highly recommend.

Recommend this place for a different taste, Greek style. We ordered 2 sets of these to share among 8 of us, beautifully done by the chefs and we love every bits of it. The beverages are great too after meals.

Food was phenomenal. Absolutely perfect. Really recommend the gyros. And it's set at a great price for the quality of food. Staff was exceptional, as they were extremely friendly offered great advice on the menu and helped with the ambiance. This is a place I'd bring others next time I come.

Food was great. Had the Tapsi with Chicken Gyros as well as saganaki and spicy feta dip. Went on a Friday night without a booking. Was very busy but staff were accomodating and found us a table. Will be back!

We had the seafood platter and I think the calamari was the best I’ve ever had in my life. Add to that friendly service and great drinks makes this one of the best Greek restaurants in Melbourne.

Well lovely views and great location. Moussaka.. started well but no flavour undertones. Tastes more like a Beef Lasagne. More spices and flavors would have been great. Chicken and Lamb Gyro. Great portions. All cooked and presented well. Fair price for fair result. Pita and Egg Plant dip. Seasoning needed. If there was a lift on the flavour.. a bit of chive, chilly or something with a stronger note it would have been awesome. Yassas has all the basics but just doesn't finish right. Awesome front of house staff, who do excellent job. Adjust the flavours and it's a 4*.

Great location on Southbank, food was great and outdoor area was nicely shaded for the hot sunny day we went! The calamari was to die for haven’t had anything that good in a long time! I will just note we found the music quite loud for catching up with family talking showing photos ect.

Tiny portion for the price, and no dip. A few mouthfuls of chicken, about 12 chips, and soggy/mushy salad, for $35. Definitely would not recommend

Great friendly service and amazing atmosphere. The meal sides were okay like the grilled potatoes taste amazing but the gyros taste could have been better.

Food was delicious, but there was just. way. too. much. served. Our group of 20 got good service from our assigned wait staff, but the gluten-free meal got delivered to the wrong diner. The place was absolutely pumping on a pre-Christmas Friday night, and the acoustics meant we couldn't hear each other at all over the music and the other groups. The entertainment was a delightful surprise, but it lasted way too long when we were in a spot with a very poor view. I'd consider coming back but only on a very quiet day, and I would order a very small meal. Overall, we felt the per-person price was too high.

Fantastic restaurant for Greek style food. I can highly recommend the meat platter for 2. Enough food for 4 people. The food was well presented and fresh. It was very tasty and reminiscent of authentic Greek food.

Yassas is a bright and airy restaurant situated on the upper story with lovely views over the river and cityscape. The food was super tasty and a good size too. My sister and I split a Traditional Tapsi chicken gyros and spanakopita between us and it was plenty. The staff were very friendly and the service very prompt (our food came within 10-15mins….perfect for quick meal before ballet). Thank you

Came here with my wife just before a movie on a Saturday night. Let's just say it wasn't what we expected. Everything was fantastic. Great service, without being a pain. Once our food came out, it was tasty and lots of it. Definitely didn't walk away hungry. We will definitely be back again. Thanks for a great dinner. 👍

After a lovely afternoon spent viewing the Time Rone exhibition in Flinders Street station followed by a drink at Transport, I was hungry and looking forward to an early dinner. I was also hopeful that this might be a Southbank dining experience to change my mind that Southbank restaurants generally cater for one off visitors and therefore don't try too hard. Sadly, my hopes were dashed. We arrived early and were swiftly seated on the balcony which provides a pleasant view over the river. We ordered our drinks which arrived without delay. Our food orders sorted two of our party of six, were told they couldn't have the feed me menu as it had to be for the whole table. If it says that in the menu, I couldn't see it. We each ordered an entree and a main. Shortly after ordering ALL of our dishes arrived at the same time (perhaps the staff haven't grasped the notion of an entree) when we attempted to explain to the wait staff that it was unacceptable to bring the entrees with the mains, they appeared confused. We did however finally get through to them and asked them to take the entrees away as we no longer wanted them. Sizing up my main, I immediately wished I has not been persuaded by the waiter to change my order from lamb skewers to the spit lamb. It was dry and underseasoned. The chips that accompanied it were luke warm and the Greek salad, minuscule. All served up in what resembled a dog bowl! The live music could have been a welcome distraction, had it not been so loud and requests to turn it down a notch, fell on deaf ears. Needless to say, I shall not be returning.

Firstly it's overpriced un-authentic Greek food. Would never go back, would have been more satisfied with mcdonalds and $80 cheaper. Chicken on the mixed platter was pink on both. Gave it back to the waitress who didn't apologise or offer any discount or condolences. Mixed platter was $85 for shreds of cold tasteless meat with two overcooked lamb chops. Hardly any chips plate was full of bread. Service is mediocre at best and feels like a takeaway joint. I am so disappointed in my meal and am so angry we came. Not happy.

Delicious Greek food that never disappoints. Been here a number of times and it’s always good. The staff are great and the food is perfect. We ordered their gyros - mixed, lamb and halloumi! Good portion sizes and fresh!

First time dining at Yassas. We came for our Anniversary dinner and I must say the food was amazing! We had the Lamb Souvlaki, Calamari and Zucchini fritters and finished off with the Loukoumades topped with walnuts and honey. What a wonderful night we had eating this delicious feast overlooking the Yarra!!

Really friendly staff and the food was delicious. We have picky kids and they even ended up eating the nice gyro meat. The food pricing was acceptable. For 2 adults and 2 kids ended up spending 102 dollars

Great spot on a lovely sunny autumn day. The wait staff were efficient and very courteous. The person that served us our meals was a very nice polite female. The food was great and the view from upstairs was just perfect for our lunch.

Great food. Amazing view from the outside(first floor) seating facing the Yarra river. The vegetarian options were really good. We tried lamb cutlet, gyros, saganaki, and the chicken skewers. The portions are filling enough. (and this is coming from a guy who can have 1.5 kebabs for dinner). We dint know what drink to order, so we asked the staff to help us pick based on our tastes. I would definitely go there again. If you are finding it hard to decide on a dish, I'd strongly recommend asking the staff. They are very friendly and helpful.

Feel like dining at a Greek restaurant? With an amazing view from the outside seating facing the Yarra river, you can’t go wrong! Food is awesome and flavourful. I love that they have vegetarian and gluten-free options. We will definitely be back.

The decor was beautiful inside. The classic blue and white decorations inside made it very apparent we dining in a Greek restaurant. You can smell the smoke and grill of the meat on the spot, it was an awesome scent of cooking smell. Luckily it was a fine day outside and there were seats by the balcony so we sat there with a view of the Yarra River and Flinders Street station. The food was also amazing. Had a meat platter for two and we were all full. It was actually more than enough as we barely finished it. Bread was amazing too. The meat was so delicious. Salad was incredible as well. They all went well together. We also ordered the Greek coffee. It was amazing too. Would definitely come back and try other menu options. The small plates look enticing for the next few subsequent visits.

Gorgeous little gem. I had the swordfish and it was to die for. To top off a lovely night, service from all staff was impeccable. In particular, service from Chris was top stuff. He will make you feel at home and allow you to relish the Greek hospitality. Thank you, will definetely return!

The atmosphere is good. They have options for indoor and outdoor sitting. They have a variety menu to cater to everyone. There's GF and Vegan friendly menus. The staff are nice and welcoming. There's proficiency and engagement with the customers.

We went to Yassas, a restaurant serving Greek cuisine, located at Southgate in Southbank. We got the Meat and Seafood platters to share among the 5 of us; when the bill came through though we realised that the set menus would have got us a better bang for the buck. The meat platter consisted of lamb & chicken gyros, lamb cutlets and pork skewers, and there were chargrilled prawns, calamari, grilled fish, grilled scallops, bugs and octopus on the seafood platter. The meats on the meat platter were really dry and chewy, and they were served with pita bread that was also dry - though the tzatziki dips helped. The seafood platter was a bit better, especially the prawns and the bugs, although the grilled fish was really fishy. Overall not a fan of their food but service was friendly, and the venue was modern and cosy with an outdoor dining area overlooking the Yarra River.

Tastes exactly like a Greek one. Dishes name typical Greek style and description helps us what the dish is about. We had been here for a farewell. All liked the way food tasted. We tried many of the dishes and all tasted pretty good. We were completely satisfied. We took sometime to search restaurant in the mall. Must try dish is chicken or mutton gyros dine and obviously pita and dips.

So, when one is salivating over food, one may be forgiven for eating the Greek brucshetta before taking a photo. That's exactly what happened. I did manage to take a snap of the stuffed mushrooms as a entrèes (oh my goodness) and then the traditional tapsi as a main (double oh my goodness). While the food was salivating brilliance, it was the service that stood out. Drink orders can sometimes take an age, not here. The table servers are here when you wanted them but not in your face. Well done Yassas.
