My partner and I aren't local to this restaurant and thought we'd stop in for dinner after a long day. It was an hour before closing time, with no reservation and the staff welcomed us in with no hesitation and got us a table straight away - we were amazed with the friendly staff, attentive service, fantastic meal prices (we were pleasantly surprised when paying the bill) and the food quality was absolutely delicious. Thanks a lot to the team at Ginseng, keep up the fantastic work and thanks for giving us a nice start to 2023!! When we revisit Frankston we will definitely be back to visit!

Pretty good restaurant with very good service. I forgot to click pics, but their fried rice and wontons are pretty good. We were 8 people, so we ordered quite a variety of items. Most foods were pretty good.

I ordered the Quail and the Duck Pancakes the food is amazing the staff is really friendly, my only issue is that with the Pancakes. The Pancake itself would tear the bottom letting the sauce and other small things to fall out but it's amazing nonetheless. So if you're look for a great Chinese restaurant definitely come here.

It's not bad, but not great. If you're looking for authentic Asian food, go somewhere else. Food was extremely westernised but if that's your thing, by all means. Paid a lot for what I wouldn't consider worth the price. Cantonese Eggplant Curry dish was good though. Serving sizes are generous so that's a plus. Front of house staff were extremely friendly and professional. A credit to the restaurant. For authentic Asian food, don't look for modern Asian food I suppose. As someone who's lived in china and now lives with Chinese food for dinner most nights thanks to the wife, I feel maybe I'm bias, but I was hoping for more than what I got for our $100+ dinner.

Service is excellent! Due to a private event, we were told to wait for half an hour but it turned out that we waited for 1 hour. Throughout the 1 hour wait, the staff kept coming to check on us. Send in our orders to the kitchen first and got all ingredients ready. Once we got a table, they started cooking. By the time we settled down at our table, nice and hot dishes were served. Food is delicious! They even threw in complementary dishes as they felt bad for making us wait. We end up with 3 more complementary dishes and had to call a stop for more coming in as we really cannot finish with what we have ordered plus the 3 complementary dishes. Great service and good food which explains the never ending flow of customers. Live music available too. Thank you for the great experience. Worth the wait.

Amazing service, probably the best service I have received in the past few years, if ever! Food was top notch - roast duck, lemon chicken, and chienese brocolli were some of my favorites. Thank you for making the family birthday night so special.

The food has gone really far backward since we last ate from here, each dish was either massively over salted or no flavor. Really disappointed.

Very friendly accomodating staff. Good service. Family member with a wheelchair, unable to access the restaurant entrance from the back car park unfortunately. Food was lovely though could’ve been a bit warmer. Pretty good atmosphere, perhaps a little dark. Overall a very nice dining experience.

Our family had lovely meal, especially as we had dietary needs that required gluten free options. There were many gluten free options to choose from, the staff understood the allergy needs and were accommodating. The meals came out very quickly and were all very tasty!

Good service, but if you are at all accustomed to good Asian food, don't go here. The food is subpar at best, and for the price you're paying it's just not worth it.

Food delivered very quickly but the Green Curry was the most tasteless curry I,ve ever had and the chicken was thin and tough. Satay beef was slightly tastier but the meat, though tenderised, was still stringy.

Had lunch today (3/8), Service was terrific, food came out fast,portions were large, very reasonably priced & all staff were lovely. David, the owner, was very friendly also. Would highly recommend

A disappointing experience. No staff came near us once we had ordered, except to bring our food. When our food did come, 1 dish was wrong. By the time the correct dish arrived others that had waited, their food was nearly cold. The meat was chewy and the dishes were more westernised, yes a menu you see in a jar at the supermarket. Maybe we just went on a bad night??

I was very excited to try their takeaway as it has great reviews and considered the best Chinese restaurant in town. The Peking duck was okay. But the fried tofu is too greasy and plain. The Singapore noodles was dry and worse than other random Chinese restaurants we tried. Overall, I would say this would be my last time order their food and disappointed me even to go back to dine in, at least takeaway not recommended. Small portion and average food.

We absolutely had one of the best nights out dining at Ginseng and were so so so happy to enjoy a pleasant dining experience. At other places, restaurants and take ways, for one reason or another, we have had a lit of hed experiences and great disappointment but NOT Ginseng. Ginseng finally gave us, the pleasant experiences we endeavoured to achieve many times before but failed so it was such a refreshing pleasant experience and we had a beautiful night. * If I could give Ginsenf 10/10 I would. The food was amazing. The Staff were well groomed and very attentive to our needs without being over the top or intrusive. It was great service and we were well looked after and we felt great. The restaurant was modern, well furnished and NOT noisy. We lived it. Highly recommend for all the above positive experiences

Went for Yum Cha and food was ok but was not yumCha as we knew it. There were no trolleys coming around for us to select from just a menu and then most of the dishes came at once. Others preferred.

Been there twice now. Had Mongolian combination both times. The sauce tasted different to other Chinese restaurants we've been to. Service was good, and staff very friendly. Will be going back, but will try something different.

Came here as Pieces closed. It has a slightly more upmarket decor, service was impeccable. Food was tasty but not really the value for money we were looking for. Probably should have got the yum cha.

Delivery good ordering good, maybe just a busy night but meat was lacking in orders. Beef was tough and bland, chicken an black bean was tasteless and very little meat, lots of veg in both dishes. Overall not terrible but for over $100 it was not something I would be re ordering again😟

Ordered special fried rice, satay chicken and Mongolian beef. Chicken and beef both came swimming in oily flavoured sauce, that was running out the plastic containers. However Meat was nicely cooked. Special fried rice was good.

I went there with my family for my mums birthday & we ordered 2 of the banquettes. The food is always good there & the prices have gone up like most places as they have to cover rising costs but it is still worth it. With the banquet I ordered I had felt that it was not a lot of food but before I had finished the head chef or owner came out to see how it was all going & make sure we had enough food & as I was still hungry he ordered more food for the table which was covered in the banquet cost. The service was excellent & all the staff were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend trying them out if you haven't been before. It is not as cheap as some places but you do get what you pay for. I was really impressed with the chef/owner coming out to make sure we had enough food which I haven't had before. They were very busy the night we went & with the service we received I can understand why. Thank you Ginseng!

Nice food, great service. Friendly and helpful staff. Great range of dishes. Only lost a star because the ginger hot pot didn't have any discernible ginger in it. It was lovely, just no ginger. Everyone else really loved their dishes. Would recommend it.

First time at Ginseng & it's my new favourite Asian cuisine restaurant. The wasabi king prawns were excellent. As was the salt & pepper squid & the 4 types of dumplings. Absolutely packed on a Saturday night but the service was great & the meals arrived without long wait times.

1ST Time there, not the last. I rang up owner yesterday asking for special order mud grab, he promised to check availability and ring me the next morning. True to his word, he did and we were in luck as he sources a fresh beauty for us. I asked for it to be done Singapore chilli style on a bed of noodles. It was awesome. It was a very busy night and the staff were very attentive (and as others have mentioned very friendly) and I didnt have to weight long to have my wine glass refilled. This place is really good, Ill be back 100%.

The vegetarian rolls were cold in the centre, but otherwise ok. Soups were very small appetizer size, but tasted nice. $45 for two entrees, two soups and a coke - more than we planned to spend for a quick lunch.

Went to this lovely restaurant yesterday for a 61st birthday lunch and drinks. The waitress and of course the other waiters were lovely and very attentive, food was amazing, drinks were great! Thanks again for a wonderful afternoon! We sure will be returning real soon <3!

Been coming here for over 6-7 years and the food is always great. Tonight after ordering, I got a call saying they were short staffed and asked if I could collect because they couldn’t deliver. I mentioned we all had covid and they went well and truely out of their way to deliver it. Exceptional service - thank you! :)

So delicious! Food was extremely fresh and so tasty. Reasonably priced and good serving sizes too. Staff were very friendly and professional. We had the entree wontons, supreme combination, chicken and cashew dish and special fried rice. The food wasn’t too salty either so you could taste all the lovely flavours. We will be back for more! Fabulous friendly staff, I can't fault them. Unfortunately the food is very underwhelming. Either completely bland or sickly sweet or salty. Small portions of actual meat or seafood In the dishes.

Our takeout never disappoints and the service when we collect is always fabulous, we always order direct via your website, so glad you guys invested in yourselves making your own booking site, would much prefer the $$ from our orders going straight to you and not allowing ubereats, menulog or the likes take 25% of your takings. Ordered take away for the first time at this restaurant as I was fed up with my usual charging me for prawn crackers and sauce to dip my spring rolls!!! Prices are reasonable and the food was amazing. Staff were warm and friendly even though they were super busy. Will be booking a table soon!

Great food and atmosphere. Went when I was 17 once and loved it (I’m now 28) and it still has the same quality to this day. I have recommended a few people this place and will continue to do so.

Staff are very attentive. Every dish was sublime and delicious. Best Chinese restaurant I've been in years. High quality all round.
