Good place for pancakes, especially since it’s open 24/7. Great place to eat dessert and hang out late at night. We always get the simple short cakes and put lots of maple syrup on it. and maybe splurge on a malt shake. Very close to Doncaster Westfield and there’s lots of parking around the restaurant so it’s easy to find a park or drive to. The lunch menu’s pretty good too.

The interior looks AMAZING!!! Such a great restaurant to visit, specifically if you have children. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The moving train and things on the walls are spectacular !! The reason I gave four instead of five stars is because the pancakes were not as good as they are in other pancake parlour restaurants. They tasted a bit different and they were way more thicker. Even the salted caramel sauce was tasting different.

They have undoubtedly got the best pancakes you will ever have. However, tried their hot and cold beverages and been extremely disappointed. It’s not value for money. Amazing interior. Average customer service.

In-Depth Review: Food 5/5 *Cheese and Potato Pancake - Absolutely delicious! Been eating these pancakes for the last decade more since high school! That cheesy crusted layered on top of the Pancake is the signature unique point. Hint - Always add bacon bits to it upgrades the texture of the Pancake so you get soft, medium and crispy textures melting and exploding in your mouth. If you're feeling generous, add mushrooms too! *Pancake Short Stacks are equally amazing! Milky, creamy not too sweet vanilla ice cream on signature pancakes or soft, yet crispy crepes! Do not miss these 2 amazing dishes! *Fish and Chips was also generous portion, fresh and delicious, but not as great as the above *Deluxe Fries are an unmissable dish as well! Hand peeled and cut wedges, topped with fresh sour cream and delicious seasoning. Phenomenal! Value 2.5/5 *Extremely expensive. For example, the cheese and potato pancake is nearly $30. If you eat it as is, it's a bit lacking in punch and kicks of flavour. If you add bacon for an extra $6 or so, it's around $36, then add mushrooms is $40. Definitely not worth it considering the unit cost price is nowhere near thst much, but hint in winter: If you come on Tuesday, it's only $10! Go nuts here 😊 Atmosphere 5/5 *Booths available everywhere, outdoor seating, really warm and friendly vibes, kid friendly as well. Hint - The choo choo train activates on the hour and moves around near the ceiling. Greet for young kids! Customer Service 5/5 *Friendly, warm service by everyone so far. The only thing I notice with almost every floor staff is that they always forget to give cutlery and water! Not a deal breaker as they are apologetic upon realising 👌 Overall *Utilise the winter hack Tuesdays deals, go nuts with extras on this day. Use the app to score points and extra Perks to increase value for your buck. Dining here full price is questionable, but if your just after the short stacks and other sweet pancakes they are very valuable! Definitely a must dine in experience you must have regardless!

First time at this Pancake Parlour since moving to the east. I used to go to them a lot more when I was younger but it's been harder finding the time since having kids. On a Monday night, this is one of the few places actually open. Great for a quick date night. The missus and I shared a walnut short stack and espressotini. We come here for the experience as much as the food. IMO, it's a bit pricey; we got a discount through the entertainment card, which brought out total down from $42 to $32.

Pancakes are really nice and they have a variety of flavours and vegan and low gluten pancakes and even protein ones too. I like getting low gluten, vegan and protein. Went here during their winter special and great deal indeed, love the fruit pancakes and the salted caramel is delicious too. Service is average but given there were many people that day I understand its hard to attend to everyone. Toilets could be cleaner. Had to ask to get table wiped, still very dirty. But given the pancakes are warm and delicious and fill you up and warm you inside during winter its still a good place to vibe.

It was 5 degrees Celcius last night. We went to have delicious pancakes, only $5 each during winter promotion. If weather temperature is 5 degrees and below, pay $5 for a serve of pancake! Love the Jamaican fried banana with caramelized maple walnuts, cinnamon & maple flavoured syrup, served with ice cream. Always cosy and pleasant environment in Pancake Parlour. Open 24 hours!

Didn't know what to expect in a Pancake Parlour. As we walked in, the interior of the restaurant caught our attention; it definitely stands out from the normal ones. The moving train and clock on the wall, and the speciality mirror are sure to entertain kids! The menu had pancakes; both sweet and savoury. There were crepes, hotcakes, ice cream and desserts too. Quality of food was pretty good, service was prompt and the quantities were also apt. Ample parking at the back added to the convenience.

Not my kind of restaurant, but the kids loved it! This is a place you go to when you want to treat your kids (or yourself) and don't mind the sugar rush afterwards! So many pancake (both sweet and savoury) options to choose from. Check the specials and offers, because the place is quite pricy.

Took family here on Xmas Eve, prebooked online which was nice. Food helpings are great, definitely try the kransky and hash browns. Coffee was good. Decor is very nice with an interesting ambience. Service is friendly. Be aware of the weekend surcharge. Enjoy!

The Pancake Parlour on Doncaster Road is a delightful spot that leaves a lasting impression. My go-to dish, the regular stack with whipped butter, is a pancake masterpiece that never disappoints. The generous portion size and fluffy texture make it a must-try for any pancake enthusiast. The ambiance is cozy, with a touch of whimsy that adds to the overall experience. However, one window tells a rather unique tale – the legend of the Doncaster town crier and his unfortunate demise involving an undercooked roasted koala. The artistic depiction on the window adds an intriguing and slightly macabre touch to the restaurant's charm. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The menu offers a variety of pancake options, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're a sweet tooth or prefer savory options, there's something for everyone. Overall, Pancake Parlour on Doncaster Road is a delightful culinary adventure, blending delicious pancakes with a touch of local legend. It's a must-visit for pancake aficionados and those seeking a memorable dining experience.

Good place for a pancake anytime. The place was awesome with an hourly train running, it was fun and interesting to watch. I was there late night, enjoyed my cold ❄️ promos and had Bavarian pan cake and Jamaican banana split. I enjoyed my pancakes with hot chocolate with marshmallows dipped in it. It was yumm. Must visit. We had to wait for 30 mins after placing our order, even when it was 11pm at night.

Pancake was great, fluffy and soft. They have so many kind of toppings, both savory and sweet. I will suggest to have blueberrypancake, they come with generous amounts of vanilla lce cream. I tried the one with crispy shredded potato and egg bennedict, surprisingly it went along very well. The not too sweet pancake and the savory topping!!!

Pancake Patrol in Doncaster provided a suitable setting for a business meeting with its relaxed ambiance, allowing for extended conversations without interruptions. While the service and food were average, it served its purpose well for our gathering.

Lovely restaurant with comfy booths. Great place to catch up with friends. Hash browns was not as expected and didn’t taste good though. I liked the Vienna hot chocolate.

Title: Enjoyable Pancake Experience at The Pancake Parlour Doncaster Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Pancake Parlour in Doncaster and had an enjoyable experience. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the pancakes were tasty and well-prepared. My only minor complaint is that pancakes were overly sweet, using too much sugar. Nonetheless, I would recommend this place for a satisfying pancake treat.

Service was very slow had to email 30 mins for someone to take order and the place was very quiet. The Hawaiian ham and cheese crepes were extremely oily, crepes were burnt salad was poor. The lady at reception didn’t take payment for my food. In fact I think I should have been paid to be served that rubbish. Will never go back to any pancake parlour. Very dissatisfied

It always has a very relaxed ambience and friendly staff. The menu items have always been wonderfully tasteyregardless of the menu changes they have had over the years. However, they are typically INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE for what you are getting. Two pancakes with some fruits and ice cream and set you back upwards of 20 dollars, and many savoury items can set you back upwards of 30 dollars a plate for what is essentially two pancakes or crepes with some meat and a salad. Even the milkshakes can cost nearly 15 dollars. That being said, there's almost *always* some sort of deal going on that makes certain menu items much more affordable. There are Summer Parlour and Winter Parlour events, which substantially reduce the prices on themed menu items should the temperature go above or below a certain threshold during the season, and long-standing monthly member offers and week day offers that one can use to get an affordable meal. Ultimately, pancake parlour is by no means cheap, but you can still get a decent bang for your buck if you time your visit right and use their offers to the fullest extent.

Amazing pancakes, a great place to have a nice warm desert. The sweet as well as savoury options are very fulfilling and love the quality and the quantity. The tiramisu pancake, the salted caramel and the original stack are our favourites. How’d go back for these time and again. The Mexican crepes are something that we cannot have enough of in the savoury section along with the potato pancake. Have not tried a lot of Swiss malts and the ice creams yet. The packaging for the take away is very sustainable.

Visited the oldest free standing Pancake Parlour today. As expected, the quirky interior of any pancake parlour was experienced it this Melbourne original. Friendly service and large portion sizes. The coffee was ok and the rosti tasted a little over. But food came quickly and the rest of it was good. Comfortable and spacious restaurant.

Moist and fluffy pancakes with fresh strawberries & vanilla ice cream is the perfect late night snack or any time of the day. 🍓🥞🍨 Served with a generous amount of strawberries. We loved every bite! Spacious and clean restaurant, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Parking available outside the restaurant.

We went around 9:30 pm on a Wednesday night and it was so busy. The pancakes were great, I’m glad we could get the $10 winter special! It was banana flavoured with whipped butter 🤤 I absolutely recommend the whipped butter topping! 🥞 We tried the chai latte and the special chocolate drink. The chai latte was worth it, but I wish I stuck to regular hot chocolate and not try the ‘special’ one at all! It was $9+ and it tasted like cheap bottled chocolate syrup mixed with some milk 🥲 So not doing that again. Overall, I’d say it’s a 4/5 place. It’s great that it’s 24/7 and still has decent options.

  • 5/5 Grace L. 2 years ago on Google
There were quite a lot of people eating here, the staff were attentive and friendly. The chai latte was good. The cheese and potato pancakes was great, love the side salad that came with it, gave the dish a refreshing touch to the cheese.

During non-COVID times, this highly whimsical, Alice-In-Wonderland-like, quirky restaurant was open 24/7. Hopefully, these hours will reactivate over Summer. Can't wait! My friend and I would go here. She would order Cajun Chicken salad. I would order the Tabriz. Every single time. (These were on their menu 20 years ago). I love their short stack with butter. A great place for memorable meals with family and friends, including St Valentine's Day, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day and of course Shrove Tuesday. Play chess with the novelty pieces. Stare fixedly at the automatons. Drink in the zany Victorian-era-esque vibe of this place. Purchase a hot chocolate in the morning when there's no one else here but the welcoming staff. Always treat the staff respectfully. Lovely! 🥞

Always a wonderful visit and atmosphere at Doncaster Pancake Parlour. Consistently great tasting food and drinks. My fave is Traditional Bacon and Eggs with maple syrup and Bavarian Apple.

Absolutely loved the service! Dinner was very filling. I was especially impressed with their vegan menu for desserts. So many options and they allowed for vegan specials due to my dietary needs despite it not being on the specials for the day so I'm very grateful for that! And I couldn't really tell the difference between their potato and buttermilk pancakes. Really well made and tasty! Awesome experience as always. :)

Yesterday was my friend’s birthday. We went to Pancake Parlour to celebrate 🎉. When the waitress knew that’s her BD, they added a candle to her plate. My friend was happy. Thanks Pancake Parlour for putting a smile on our faces. 😊

Always a pleasure to visit this pancake parlour location for a hot chocolate and some savoury pancakes. The location is great with ample parking spots available. The mocha, hot chocolate and coffee are amazing. The savoury and sweet pancakes are delicious too. Pair the pancakes with some of their amazing milkshakes and that is a match made in heaven. However stay away from their hash browns. It is like a shaved potato deep fried and it is sometimes too oily and doesn't taste great. The staff is great, welcoming and polite. The toilets are good and clean too.

I've loved the pancake parlour since my bff 10th birthday... Suggestions- --Pls - put long backs in cups ! Not glass (no, not mugs) they are hot!! --would love to see some winter/summer parlour integration (ie live) with the amazing ap. --it's probably time to step up the coffee skills and move a little further into 3rd wave coffee making (latte art/silk milk) ..(at least there's no cappuccino mountains- but who does that these days. :) I worked at the Bourke st location in the 90s.. some how I got a job in the middle of the recession- literally more than half the Resturant (whole right hand side) was filled with teens filling in applications.... and a queue to get a seat! I didn't know positions had been advertised- I just knew the pancake parlour had great training for sit down style Restaurants. . And it was only that I didn't want to be late for a doctors appointment I had after that I found my self being unusually assertive to (skip the queue) and introduce my self to Lisa. . 😬

I just dined in at the Doncaster branch and received the best service I’ve ever had at pancake parlour. I’m frequent customer and tonight was the first time a waiter actually made a long lasting impression, to the point where I’ve asked for his name to write this review. Stefans customer service was impeccable, his listening skills, actioning what was ordered, attentiveness, punctuality with the food service/timing and overall energy/vibe/atmosphere was incredible. I’ve worked in customer service before and appreciate the importance of great customer service. I hope his efforts aren’t going by unnoticed, he’s an asset to your company. Legend.
