I was surprised about the choice of food to eat on the menu, I sat in the bistro, it's a little bit older looking probably due for a upgrade, but the food was good ,well cooked and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this place if you're after a decent meal, myself ate the full rack of beef ribs. They also had a nice selection of cakes on display to choose from.

Dined with a group of 6. Had no tap beer when we ordered a drink so the waiter said he would bring them over to table. He did after two follow ups about 20 mins later. One of the 6 meals ordered came way after the other 5 and the food was luke warm and pretty ordinary. Not a wonderful experience but the company on our table was good fun!

Perfect spot for a soul warming feed. Great for when you're craving a balanced, home cooked meal but don't have anyone to make it for you! Super friendly and helpful staff, and options an entire group, or dinner date for two will love. Food is always spot on. And the ordering from your table is a nice touch if you prefer! I recommend the lamb shanks, our go to every time!

There is a open fire surrounded by lounge chairs which adds a nice ambience to the bistro. The food is standard pub bistro fair, is reasonable priced, but nothing special. Reservations can be made online, and may be a good idea.

Very friendly and accommodating. We didn’t have a booking, just dropped in our way home from the City. Used the Me&U app to order meals and drinks. Used the Monty card and received a discount. Enjoyable spontaneous dinner with my number1. I had the Parma, and missus had steak. Both nice meals.

Excellent menu. Food was very good. Lovely waitress who doted on us despite it being a bistro. Bit difficult to get from the carpark to the front door as it was a long way and no parking near front entrance. Difficultly because my partner has leg injury.

Enjoyed a friendly lunch there. Good sized seniors meals. Not too noisy so you can have a good chat. Service was a little slow considering it was lunch time and restaurant was only about a quarter full.

I have been to the Mitcham hotel many times over the years. Things have slipped. Waited at the front counter to be seated for 8 minutes before another person in another party went to the bar to call someone over. The disabled toilet was blocked. One meal was missing from the order so had to line up again at the kitchen counter to follow up and ask where it was. The special - salmon - when arrived was missing the cherry tomatoes. In isolation the individual items are not a concern. But when combined detracted from the whole dinning experience. Mitcham Hotel - lift your game. You need more qualified staff - especially in peak periods - Sunday lunch.

Our grandchildren were on the lolly machine and it blocked lollies dropping. We told staff Matthew and he tried to fix machine for us. He came back and said sorry can’t fix machine so He gave the boys their money back. So kind, offered them icecream and then gave us a free coffee. Well done Matthew so nice and helpful. Amazing. Xx

Really underrated pub in the south eastern suburbs. Came with the folks to shout them dinner and my goodness. The pork belly was half the size of the plate, and tasted like Christmas. Daniella was our server and besides her friendly smile her charisma is what made our night. The atmosphere is so nice and the space is very open. Can't wait to come back

The Mitch has a lot to offer the patron searching for a good dinner with wide and tasty menu items and helpful service. It’s open to 4am on a Monday night to just chill. I love that.

We had an amazing time at the Mitcham hotel for dinner. They have one of my favourite schnitzels with a great herbed crumb. The service that Matt provided was absolute excellence! We will definitely be returning

Not sure what happened to the food here recently, but it’s terrible. The parma and chips used to be absolutely fantastic over a year ago. The last 3 or 4 times I’ve been was pretty disappointing. Won’t be back. Smaller menu and new chef, not a fan.

18 of us gathered for dinner to celebrate a family birthday and we were happy with the food and service. At our request, the manager and staff were able to change our allocated seating location. Mainly steaks, fish n chips, and a few senior meals were ordered and we also brought a birthday cake. All good! One steak was overcooked and they were happy to replace. Shout out to the kind staff and attentive manager who all worked very hard.

Pleasant surroundings which are never noisy. Bistro staff are lovely, especially Matthew. We come here regularly and always enjoy our meals. Menu could offer more vegetarian options but there are a few which are nice.

Nice place, but whoever did the idea of putting the sign of IF YOU ASKED WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER, FREE GARLIC BREAD then you charge them at the end is something you guys need to think about and find a good reason for it. I believe no one understands it even yourself! You guys totally ripping off people by doing this!

Food was very good for a Hotel. Service was a little slow. They really need to consider access for people with disabilities. Having to push a wheelchair from a lower car park to the hotel entrance level was challenging!

Just had lunch here today. The food was excellent, my wife had the duck and I had the Christmas in July roast meal. The other big plus here was the staff who were also excellent, made for a very enjoyable lunch. Highly recommended.

Don’t get the ribs. They have no flavour. We also had to ask for them twice, and they arrived after we had finished our other food. I would expect the food to have more flavour for the price. Drinks were reasonably priced though. And the staff while busy were friendly, but didn’t seem to have “it” together.

The food is good. This is the only pub I have ever been to where a staff member went into the playground and told the children to be quiet. Not family-friendly at all for a pub with a playground. We won't be booking any family birthdays here again.

Steak was nice but Seaford platter was very disappointing not what it showed on the menu, certainly overpriced for what we got and no presentation. Not enough staff, very rushed. Won’t be going back.

Matthew our wait staff person was so excellent and made our family feel so welcome and taken care of. We had a lovely time for my mums birthday :)

Nice Pub. We’ve visited the Mitcham Hotel many times over the years and never been disappointed with anything. The only criticism if any, the staff can be a bit “iffy” at times. Like they would rather be somewhere else. The food is always good so I guess that makes up for it.

Came tonight for Trivia but all booked out fairly small area and about 10 tables. Decided to have a meaL, got a beer and waited. After a while the table behind me told me mentioned they had been waiting 50 minutes just for the garlic bread but no mains in siteand waited... I thought its gonna be a long wait ahead for me as at that point I had only been waiting 20minutes. I had noticed around me alot of tables were still waiting also for food. I decided to get a refund so i didn't want to have dinner at 9pm or later. The lady was happy to give me a refund and apologised. I went to buy pizza across the road and had within 15minutes and declious. I will not be back to Mitcham Hotel seems like that place way under staffed plus staff on were to relaxed to care. So hard to find good good stuff who take pride in what they do food and service.

The Parma is good. Crunchy and no gamy.

My pulled pork burger tasted like those chicken satay microwaveable rolls 7/11 used to sell about 20 years ago. The fries were stale, limp and barely warm. It was gross but my parents liked their food so you at least get 2 stars.

We had such a great night with our friends. The bistro wasn’t too loud, our food was brought out quickly by our waiter, Matthew, & the size of our meal was more than adequate.

Easily one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory. Food took forever to to be served. People who had arrived thirty minutes later were served before us. Fish and chips were oozing oil all over the plate. Vegetable sides were enormous chunks of cauliflower and broccoli - barely cooked, rock hard and no seasoning. Schnitzel was completely dried out. Sausages looked like they had been pre-boiled and quickly thrown in a pan for some colour. Chips were overcooked, dry and hard. Most guests on our table didn't even eat their meals. Wait staff were courteous but there were definitely not enough of them for a full bistro. This is the second miserable experience at The Mitcham Hotel. We will not be back.

I really want to give a shout out to The Mitcham Hotel. When new restrictions were brought in 2 days before my son's 9th birthday, we were unable to have family over. The Mitcham were able to accomodate all 10 of us even though they had a limit of 20. Other places we tried either were not opening on the Monday night or limiting booking numbers. The service was still fantastic while they and us still practiced social distancing, and the food was great! My porterhouse was cooked to perfection. Thank you Mitcham Hotel! You literally saved my sons birthday

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted, and we all enjoyed our time. Our fish was cooked perfectly and everyone enjoyed their meal. Would recommend.

Wow! It's a long time since we ate out so expectations were high. Not only were we not disappointed; we were delighted. The dining room has been very spaciously set out We didn't feel unsafe at any time. The whole dining process was very well thought through. And the food was fantastic Succulent parmas, perfectly cooked sweet flathead fillets. A wonderful night. Well done to the team at Mitcham Hotel. No wonder they're booked out so far in advance. Worth the wait though.

The food was delicious but the service wasn't great. We waited over half an hour after ordering to get the food. The staff were clearly busy and a little stressed by the look of things. The air-conditioning wasn't on or wasn't working so it made the room really uncomfortable and warm. We asked three times for some cool air. I won't be going back there which is a shame because the food really was very good.

Overdue for investment for renovations to compete with newcomers in the local bistro/pub market (Coach/Mitcham Social) The current pandemic offers the perfect timing to be doing this work so looking foward to seeing some scaffolding!

First time at this pub. Great food, nice ambience. We ordered chicken wings and saganaki for our starters. Delicious. For mains we had the chicken parma and steak. Perfect. The staff were attentive and helpful. Will be back!

Friendly staff and a comfortable setting are the highlights of this place. The menu is fairly standard including the usual options on for the kids. Serving sizes are not generous for the price but satisfying as a meal.

Food, service and views were top notch and I will definitely be back and recommend. Menu was small however sufficient. Only area I’d tweak is the wine list and advice on wines that is a bit more prominent in other restaurants at this level. Nice little local pub. Food was quick, reasonably priced, and decent. Standard pub food. Interior looks to have been renovated recently and was clean, if a little uninspired. QR codes on tables meant covid safety was high, but not being able to even order drinks from the bar keeps it a little arms length on the service

We went here yest for lunch. The food was awful. We where a family of 8 and not one meal was good. At first we had a waitress come over and said our docket didn't print and our meals will be delayed by 15mins after waiting 20mins already. Then the food came in bits and pieces. The spaghetti was almost cold. The garlic bread was burnt black, the grilled fish was so dry and over cooked it wasn't even edible and it just went down hill from there. Wouldnt recommend this place to anybody.

The food was average and the waiting staff were confused about who ordered what.

This has been my local for 16 yrs, first dreadful meal experience, 7 mains all poorly cooked, soggy and bland. Fire place not functional, and understaffed with inexperienced people. Sadly, giving them a miss for a while. Tonight the meals were good, rather large, but well cooked, arrived hot, we all enjoyed it. Sadly, eating in must have hurt the pub game, as it was all but empty. Great job on the food, sad the ambiance is absent, a sign of the times.

We came on a Wed night at 6:15pm - my husband and adult son. We were greeted by a friendly girl and shown to our table. Entrees we ordered cheesy garlic bread with bacon bits and it was gooey and delicious. They ordered spicy chicken wings which they agreed were spicy and flavourful. For mains we ordered chicken Parma with chips and salad - this was a decent size but not too big. My husband had the bourbon pork belly with veggies which we said was a decent piece of pork and he enjoyed it. My son had the pork belly burger and gave it the thumbs up! Our waitress Danielle was lovely and Manager Matt was also very friendly and lovely. So do yourselves a favour and pop in one night! 😊

Very ordinary!!! I ordered the calamari which was truly awful!! I returned it and was asked what I wanted . . . !! So I asked for simply chips and a salad similar to what was on the plate I was returning! Out came a huge bowl of chips that could have fed the 5 of us at the table and a green salad that was a similar size! Absolutely ridiculous! Live very close to this place but will not be going back!!

disappointing, ordered one of the only 2 vegetarian friendly mains, the Thai tofu green curry. After waiting, was served the curry but with no tofu. When I made a point of this, I was told there was no tofu left in the kitchen? Why would this not be made obvious when ordering, and why would I be served a meal missing the key ingredient as if I wouldn’t notice? Was offered a bland burger as a replacement, with painfully undercooked chips instead. Could’ve just spent $22 at subway and had a better time. The waiting staff were very kind and helpful, and I know it wasn’t at all their fault. But the kitchen staff could be more upfront about what ingredients are and aren’t available, instead of serving half a meal.
