Still can't believe we discovered this little gem of a restaurant in the neighbourhood 🥰. We had the smoked salmon rosti for entree and the eye fillet with pepper sauce for mains. Everything was so delicious. Every component on the steak dish was seasoned so well and the steak was incredibly well cooked to medium rare and very tender. Also love the vibe of the restaurant, takes you back in time. I hope it doesn't change! I can't wait to return!

It is a cosy and peaceful restaurant on a weeknight. We had steak, lamb, and kid's size pasta. Dessert we had chocolate souffle and sticky date and raisin pudding. The food overall is yummy. My kid loves the fettuccine and a big plus for me is the stir fry vegie as a side😍. If you are looking for a nice dinner reasonably priced for regular visits, you should definitely come here. I have started to think when I should visit again!

Went to Poppies with the family to celebrate my 30th. What a great find! There was so much variety on the menu, the food was delicious and portion sizes were perfect. The service was great too. Tablecloths were also a nice touch making eating there a little more special. Hope to make this a regular for future family dinners.

I'm a bit scared to tell everyone how great this restaurant is. I want the restaurant to do well but, not at the detriment of losing my "Best kept secret". The food served each time I have been here, has been consistent and of high quality. I'm not far away from having tried every item on the menu (1 or 2 visits more) and I am very much looking forward to it.

Recommended by a friend and went there for gathering. The sign of restaurant wasn't obvious (i mean as a restaurant). I won't knew what shop (or what they selling) is that if I wasn't having my dinner there. The foods were very special yet delicious. We ordered ordered crumbed lamb brains, chicken Liver en Croute, gnocchi Siciliana and duckling a la Poppies. I will highly recommend this place. In additional, they also have set lunch available on weekday.

Had lunch at poppies and I can thoroughly recommend the meals. There were four of us and we all loved our meals. I had chicken and spinach crepes with a creamy sauce. The came with vegetables and house made cottage fries, yum. One of our party had pork belly which comes with a cranberry sauce topped with nuts, it’s my usual order as I can’t resist it and my friend felt the same, absolutely delicious! I had rhubarb Mille Fuille (not sure of the spelling) for dessert, OMG so good. You will not be disappointed here. Efficient and friendly staff made for a lovely lunch.

We came here for the first time today and all of our entrees, mains and desserts were absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will absolutely be back again.

Ate lunch here and had a really nice time. Menu was excellent, service was good, perhaps should be aware that the table is cleared only after the last diner has finished the course. Maybe a little picky on my part. I am looking forward to dining here again.

We were a group of 16 people for a birthday party. They were happy to give us one long table so we could sit together . They allowed BYO wine so we took a couple of bottles. The food and service was really great, we want to go back there soon. The mains food portions were generous without being too much. The waitress did an amazing job bring all the food out within a few minutes. I chose the Poppy's Veal with a creamy sauce, it was delicious. Compliments to the Chef!

My favourite restaurant in Melbourne. Food is always excellent, prices reasonable and Jimmy is an absolute gentleman. Good service, not too large in size so never gets loud. Well deserving of 5 stars

Poppies is consistently excellent! Food is magnificent, service is always attentive, environment is pleasant and relaxed and it’s BYO as well as licensed. My favourite dish is undoubtedly the chocolate soufflé. I don’t always have dessert but it’s mandatory here! So happy to have this gem close to home! Other must haves are the salmon roesti entree and the kangaroo main when they are on the menu.

This is the best restaurant in the area. The food is great and so must be the chef. The service is great too. You must book ahead because its a very popular place. Went there again last Saturday 5/3/22 and it was chockers and the place was buzzing. FIVE STARS.
