Surgery staff are great, the nurses on the other hand, wow, they're all as arrogant as the next and they seem to only do as they see fit. Apparently all of us who have families just get left in the dark and wondering whether partners or mothers are okay. Absolutely useless for a place that is supposed to help in times of need. Do not go near the place if you want to be looked after sufficiently. If i could rate the service of the nurses alone they would get a -5 stars!! Absolutely appalling!!

I have been coming here for a cystoscopy for the last few years. I have found all the staff to be friendly and courteous. and the nurses are very caring. OK you have to wait for a while but that happens at other hospitals too. This is a very good hospital and absolutely deserves five stars.

Went for my review as an outpatient after having surgery at Monash Clayton last month. The hospital has good parking options, but the prices are high. I parked in a local street not far from hospital instead. The hospital has good signage so it's easy to navigate around. Staff in admin were friendly. Didn't have to wait too long to see surgeon for my review.

Just a lovely hospital and I agree with the other nice comments about this facility. Go there regularly for post cancer checkups and the staff are just so caring. Yep you have to wait a bit - but just take a good book.

I had a surgery in the day procedure area today and am over the moon with how well i was treated. The entire team, from admission staff, nursing staff, surgeons, etc, absolutely every single staff member i dealt with today were exceptionally kind, patient and competent. I have a complicated medical history and rare medical condition and the staff listened carefully and treated me with patience and respect. Something as simple as listening to how i treat my condition and allowing me to do that which fixed the problem, even if it isn't something the staff had done before. They explained the procedure and answered my many questions clearly. I had alot of kindness and compassion with the emotional side of the situation aswell which i really appreciate. The staff were very careful with my allergies and ensured i ate well and for the first time i had a hospital meal that i enjoyed as it tasted good and was completely safe for me to eat which is hard to do for me! I am impressed with the high level of professionalism shown by all the staff. I finally felt safe going into a surgery confident that i was being well taken care of. They were aware of my condition, listened and acted on my concerns and although some things did not go 100% as planned i was carefully looked after. I don't know if i have articulated this well but I would give everyone who treated me today a bonus if i could. Thankyou for going above and beyond in my care today.

Parking is a problem, but what is worst is the receptionist making the appointment, it should communicated with the doctors and work out a precise time so there is no long waiting. One should be seen close to appointment time rather than having a Patient wait 1-2 hours. Surely the doctors knows how much time they will need with a Patient and therefore appointment be made accordingly

This was my second procedure this year and a procedure last year involving surgery and Hospital stay. From Pre Op ,Surgery to Post Op I cannot believe the Professionalism and Freindliness from all staff involved and whom can't do enough for you. 12 out of 10 stars and all staff involved stand proud from an extremely grateful patient. Thankyou again Neil Philpott.

It’s a shame that this hospital exists. Was here for my breast cancer treatment and my appointment with Dr Chilton Chong, breast surgeon, was a nightmare. He was more interested in completing paper work as part of my referral to plastics than discussing my case with me. He was half a sleep when I was sharing my diagnosis with him and seemed very disinterested in treating me. I was scared to trust him with my life and had to see a private surgeon despite not having enough money to spend on private consultations. Please do not get treated by this surgeon. He is arrogant and doesn’t care about his patients. His existence as a breast surgeon is unfortunate. These kind of people make the cancer journey more painful and stressful.

I was was at Moorabbin Hospital on the 7th of September 2018 for a major operation and stayed at the hospital for 4 nights. The staff - from the surgeons & anesthesiologists through to the doctors, nurses, admin staff, pharmacists, food services and cleaners are absolutely outstanding. I believe that the hospital is first rate and that hospital staff go above and beyond to make the patient's stay & rehabilitation comfortable & cater to all of the their needs. Well Done Moorrabbin Hospital !

The surgeon, doctors and service was great and as a patient there it was generally reasonable. However, there were obvious work place tensions between the nurses which made it unprofessional.

After a horrible experience at knox private hospital with my beautiful nan, this hospital has been our saviour. They have been so compassionate and understanding of my nans needs, but also so kind and understanding with our entire family. They have communicated with us thoroughly and with everything the Dr explained, he put himself in our shoes and gave us the best guidance possible. Honestly cannot thank all the staff enough. It was such a relief my nan coming here, to the outstanding care you all provided her. From the bottom of my heart and my nans, thank you. You restored my faith in compassion.

For someone who was told they would have to stay overnight after having 5 cysts removed from both ovaries, I was set for surgery at 1pm and was then moved into a private room to spend the night as promised. The surgery went great as far as I’m concerned, I did not get to speak to the doctors about how my surgery went, I did not get any pain killers or advice on how to care for the wounds. I was told by a nurse that my family was coming to pick me up and that I had to get changed ready to be discharged. After buzzing for a nurse to get help to go to the toilet, she watched me struggle get out of bed and walked off once I struggled to walk to the toilet. Considering I was meant to stay overnight, this nurse rushed me out of the room and almost forgot to take the needle out of my hand after I asked her twice to take it out. The surgeons on the other hand were very polite and sat down with me before the surgery to explain the procedure and the risks. Even though this surgery was not through private health, the care that I received was pretty disgusting and not at all worth a 1 star rating.

Went in for a day procedure. Thank you very much for everything...from admission staff to the nurses and the doctors. You were all very caring and professional. I don't mind waiting as I know that the patient before me needed more attention and care for their condition. Really appreciate all your hard work.

Monash Moorabin,Trust me don't even deserve one star. Don't even think of going there 90% of there reception staff, full of attitude, useless tantrums and put you on waiting for over an hour and busy in their gossips or pretend to be on phone. No respect, shows race behaviour. Covid 19 precautions but they themselves not even following too.It happened twice now 'Not coming again'.

Please make sure to not rely on on this hospital for any help if you have a family member needing help! So father in law goes in for surgery on mouth so can’t talk. We try to organise and pay for the tv service to be connected but the number just sends you to a voicemail asking for details for them to call you back. But guess what! They don’t! When you contact the surgical ward for any kind of help you get told β€˜β€œsorry we don’t do that so can’t help keep trying they don’t close until 9pm so they will call you back πŸ‘ So you leave another message asking for a return call hour later…. Then call the ward pleading for someone to help the family patient who’s has just had surgery and can’t communicate and just wants to watch something while being stuck in bed after surgery. Then plead with the the ward for some help and get told sorry the tv department close at 8pm try again tomorrow. Is this Australia??? Absolute joke of a process and in 2023 this kind of process should not be in play .

After having recent surgery at Moorabbin Hospital I would like to thank all concerned for their magnificent 'bedside manner,' and the high degree of professionalism that was displayed. ALL Staff were friendly and helpful with Nursing and Kitchen Staff going 'above and beyond' to cater to individual needs. I honestly believe Moorabbin has the best of the best when it comes to personnel. A great place to have to visit! Keep up the good work. Barbara (Chatterbox) Coghlan

Thank you to the whole team at Monash Moorabbin who conducted my open myomectomy surgery from the booking of the surgery to admission until I got discharged. The many staff members - administrative (Michelle), day procedure admittance team, anaesthetists (Jordan & team), gynaecologists (Dr Sarah, Dr Chloe & team), recovery team Michael & team, nurses (Cherry & team) who attentively asked all the questions and then answered all the questions that I had. And looked after me so well, went above and beyond, giving their 100%. The team are amazing super heros who looked after me in my most vulnerable state, their level of care is first class. And of course not forgetting the cooks, cleaners and everyone working behind the scenes. Thank you very much for all that you do. A very special thanks to nurse Cherry in Surgical Ward, thank you so very much for your amazing care. Chloe

Be warn and beware! Nurse named Mei (Asian appearance middle-age woman) who is an absolute disgrace to have within such a great team (Surgical Ward), a good example of β€œone bad apple spoils the barrel”! My partner was required to inform the nurses when she need to go to the bathroom (as they need to measure the amount of urine using Specimen Collector). While my partner was awaiting for a specimen collector to be put in place, Mei came over and responded with an attitude β€œYOU CAN DO IT AND PUT IN YOURSELF”, Mei did not even inspect whether there was a specimen collector available in the bathroom and did not check my partner’s condition who is in serious pain and require regularly intake pain killer. We were shocked and extremely disappointed. 5/5 stars was supposedly be rated for the rest of the team, especially Harpreet who we believe have performed her duties at the highest quality, not only with her excellent clinical skills, but also with her kind attitude, enthusiasm and compassion. Thank you team (Surgical Ward).

The Moorabbin hospital (specifically Moorabbin - not all of Monash hospitals) is the best hospital in Melbourne and I will say it hand on heart!!! In the past year I had surgery here (stayed 4 nights and five days) and last month I had another post- surgery procedure that required full anaesthesia. The staff are excellent & extremely knowledgeable. From the Anaesthesiologists and Surgeons to the Director of nursing who came to check on me personally, to the wonderful, amazing and caring nurses all the staff at this hospital are great! I can't say enough about this wonderful hospital !! andddddddd.. the food is good!

Professional staff. Felt like my mother was in good hands. Only criticism is that car parking is expensive, about $20 for first hour with a maximum of about $26... but that's increasingly standard for hospitals these days.

Had disability liaison officer co-ordinate with aenesthetics unit, dental team, surgical ward nurse unit to get a patient with complex health and mobility issues through surgery with appropriate multi-night admission due to expected adverse reactions to pharmaceuticals during surgery. Surgery went well but due to complex care these patients get surgery on Fridays which went very well. Unfortunately, 5 hours after surgery the nurse unit manager who never read the patient's file demands the patient get up and prepare for discharge. Patient was developing relapse of Guillain-BarrΓ© syndrome and measuring 75% oxygen saturation on movement. We expect the unit manager persists with her abuse of the patient and continue documenting the patient as abusive and ensure the post-op patient falls due to mismatched nursing care to cause injury and failed discharge that will trigger investigation and media scrutiny. Unfortunately, we know this happens as an interrupted planned patient pathway for complex patients in most hospitals. We hope but don't expect this problem is resolved within the next 3 hours. Apparently, only aenesthetists and maybe 8% of staff actually read more than the first tab of any patient's notes. Our apologies for those with complex care needs who need hospital access but not systemic medical abuse that induced and triggers your Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Three separate appointments to get a biopsy in the last two months. Waited two hours at each appointment only to be told they’re not going to do it and that we need to come back another time. The staff must have known that they would not get to see everyone in that wait room before days end and yet still allowed them all to sit and wait without any updates. Just praying the growth is not cancer and the constant delays don’t affect my mum’s long term chance at a positive outcome. Will definitely be going elsewhere to try and get this done. Disgraceful.

I had an orthopaedic appointment, today. The staff were lovely. As I was waiting, I had an asthma attack. It was horrible, but they looked after me very nicely. I also have an appointment for tomorrow, for something else, but asked the lady (receptionist) if I could make it for in 4 weeks time; as this weather and high pollen count is no good for my asthma, it's dangerous! She agreed. I asked if I could be seen in 4 weeks, if this would be okay. She was fine with it! Only 10 mins ago, I had a message left on my phone, asking me to call about the rescheduling. I did! Only to be told that the doctors may want to discharge me from the clinic, because this is like the 7th time I have rescheduled! Good grief!! I have been very sick over a long period of time with cough, colds, flu and really bad asthma. I had asked each time if they wanted me coming to their clinic like that. Each time the answer was "no!"....so they would reschedule, which I am thankful, for, but today, I felt threatened. This is not fair! The outpatient clinic are well aware of what I went through, today, with the asthma attack, I had! There should be more compassion for patients! Seriously, I am in tears!! 😒😒😒😒

Great place if you have a trivial sleeping disorder. Only diagonse based on AHI and will ignore everything else, for instance I had an RDI of 45 and was told I have "insomnia". I may as well been told "I don't know". Such narrow minded thinking - they don't even preform drug induced endoscopy. Absolute joke in sleep medicine... Staff were nice and polite tho.

My boyfriend went into surgery tonight and the nurses and surgeons have been amazing Sarah who I saw in the waiting room before surgery (forget the clinic name) was so amazing so gentle and communicated amazing I did something wrong.... The head nurse in the surgery ward 1 I think it was, was perfect too I dunno her name but she's tall and has blond hair, slim build I was scared for my partner and I got a little heated she took me out of the room and spoke really good to clam me down (if ur reading this I'm sorry my disability took over and I've had way to emotional stuff on and the change of.plans just broke me) thank you for speaking the way you did to me (assertiness but nice about it no bad tone) Next day He got discharged too early and a stitch reopened has to take him to emergency and also get new recommended medication for him 6 days later back into the emergency room again none of their team have been helpful

Efficient, friendly staff. Unfortunately there is no Cafe. Not good. We came from Melton West to be a part of a research project. My husband sat in the car for nearly 3hours waiting for me. No place to buy a coffee.

Within 1 month, 2 appointments for exactly the same review. My mother is not requiring urgent treatment nor does she have the patience at 86 to answer the same questions for info they already have on record. Nothing has changed in years so not sure how it can change in 3 weeks! Called to cancel 2nd appointment in week 1 and in week 3, 3 days prior to appointment, sent reminder to attend. Called again number (on both email and sms) to cancel and told wrong number and will pass on message.....what on earth is happening with this hospital that the departments don't share information nor can they get the their contact details right! Absolutely incompetent systems.

I had my pet scan at Monash imaging and the nurse was amazing. The radiologist was absolutely awesome. The pet team on phone particularly Melissa ,Kitty , Priya went above and beyond to help me with the referral and all other aspects of my appointment. Thanks to all of you for making my experience so comfortable 😘 Ramandeep Kaur

It's not even an hospital. Went there on emergency in the middle of the night and it was close and I've been told that it's a clinic . Ridiculous!

Staff at the entrance make you change your perfectly good reusable mask for a disposable mask, meanwhile there are countless staff members and other people walking around without masks on at all, or wearing them as chin warmers.

Worst hospital on the Earth. Breast nurses and plastics are extremely neglectful and abusive. Could have killed me had I not made a formal complaint. Dr Ooi is one of the rudest people I’ve ever met and the coldest. The nurses did not even speak English or know basic nursing. Didn’t even clean the cannulas and I had just finished chemo and prone to infection. Disgusting place!

I recently had hysterectomy at Moorabbin hospital. The care was outstanding, by far best I've had in a Victorian hospital. Very clean hospital, staff an nurses are amazing. Gynaecology clinic went above an beyond. The Food is amazing also, I can't recommend this hospital enough. Thank you 😊

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I just finished taking my dad here, he had to get two teeth removed. Debra the nurse was so lovely and caring, she made my dad feel right at home. I couldn’t recommend her enough. The dentist (I forgot her name - she was of Asian descent) was so gentle and careful and considerate. She ensured dad wa...

😠 The worst hospital. My sister had been suffering from breathing problems and attended this hospital in the morning due to it getting worse over night. 9 hours later sitting by herself, the doctor discharged her while saying nothing is wrong with her while seeing her physical state and it was clear s...

😠 Will definitely never come to casey emergency ever again! Rather drive to Frankston! The nurses clearly dont have anything to do, bundled chatting away, on the phone, yet the waiting time is between what and what! I know it is promoted no rudeness to staff please respect, but have they ever though t...

😠 Do not have your baby here. There are many other hospitals to choose your maternal care with, and I don't believe Box Hill Hospital as the right choice. I left feeling very uncared for and my stay there was quite a lot. Lots of drips not checked nor working correctly, no care while I was recovering...
