Bad customer service, keycard didn't work and I was locked out and couldn't get hold of staff easily. Bad facilities, cramped and full of beef heads and barely any women. Rude staff. Go to Virgin, better value, they have a nice sauna, beautiful yoga room and change rooms plus pool. These guys are jokers who won't help you or warn you if your bill goes over $1000.00 if you were stressed about the pandemic or too busy with uni. Their contracts are shonky and designed to catch you off guard. At least Virgin cuts off your account so it doesn't become too high if you have life events happening, family deaths, illness etc and forget about your gym membership for a few months. Equilibrium does not respect it's customers. Virgin is worth the slight extra for an all around more comfortable and respectful, considerate environment. This place honestly just wants to crunch numbers and is overcrowded and not an appealing place to visit.

Great facilities, but they continued to take random deductions from my bank account for months after I cancelled my membership. After multiple emails, the only response I got was after threatening escalation to the relevant authorities - still no response on refunding the unauthorised deductions though. Very disappointed in the level of customer service - only writing this review because of 10 months of non-responsiveness. Edit 03/02/2021: The company owner promptly responded to this 1-star review, within a day (which is good), stating a refund had been processed and to get in touch. But after 3 weeks and 2 emails to follow up, still no response (which is bad). And no, despite their claim, after 8 weeks of waiting no refund has been received. Disappointed that it appears their quick response to this review was to moreso to save public face, rather than resolving a genuine issue. Get your act together Equilibrium!!

The gym is absolutely stunning and there are pilates and yoga classes with special equipment.

Signed up for Equilibrium for a month with friends whilst travelling and it has been great - Dean and rest of staff are very welcoming and accomodating, they have a wide range of machines, equipment and weights so always left the gym feeling like it was a successful session. Relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere and they seem to have a good range of membership options to suit what you need. Best gym I've been to - if I am ever back in Melbourne I will sign back up again.

The best gym ever Dean the Manager is very very helpful and the facilities are clean. Also love the bowl of fruit on the counter as you leave. Highly recommend for a great inner city gym.

I recently received extraordinary customer service from Dean who went above and beyond to sort out a membership query. I highly recommend this gym if you want a venue to work out with friendly staff and patrons.

Super friendly staff and has a great location. What sets it apart from other large gyms is its absence of joining or key access fees. Additionally, their app is extremely user-friendly. They've recently renovated the space and upgraded several machines, making the experience even better. I highly recommend it!

Trained here while I was in Melbourne and absolutely loved it. The equipment was modern, well kept and there was plenty of it. I never had a session where I needed to wait around for anything, there were always two or three options for each exercise. The staff were great and all really friendly. They make a point of knowing your name and face which is always quite a nice touch. The place is well air conditioned and the water is ice cold which always helps, especially as an Englishman in the Australian heat. Top gym, top people. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new gym.

Has everything I want from a gym. Clean and well appointed. Other customers have all been very polite with no big egos or main characters around which is nice. I've never had to wait for something even at the busy times. Rest is up to me now - thanks team.

Great service and facilities

I've been going here for about a year now, I mainly go for the classes. The instructors are lovely and the other gym members are generally very nice and supportive too. I enjoy my visits here during the week. I can't speak too much to the facilities (such as showers, lockers etc) as I don't use them.

The gyms recently had a massive refurbishment and is a great place to work out, with lots of equipment, clean and modern restroom facilities and easy to use booking system

Overcrowded and not particularly clean. Only a very small area to stretch out or do mat work unless you want people stepping over you. There were half-arsed rennovations going on for the last 6 months I was a member. Often equipment was broken and did not get fixed quickly. The group training area upstairs was essentially cut in half by this construction, so not really a comfortable space to do the class exercises and the equipment had no place proper places to be stored. Some of the instructors for these classes were pretty mediocre (i.e. just there to do the class themselves). When I left I was charged for 2 extra months membership fees despite leaving a request via the website, which I know they received. I had to keep calling, many times, to confirm that no more payments would be taken and that my membership had in fact been cancelled (and forget about getting a refund).
