Excellent Staff! Obviously this is not a Donald trump's gym so you get every think 10/10, for those who gave bad rating should know that you cant get everything anywhere. According to membership free, friendly staff & wide range of facilities, this is is best gym around dandenong area.

Good to see the new owner investing in this facility, however a 50% increase in membership is hard to swallow. Then their are the reduced access hours to pool/sauna which were never communicated either by email, website, app or sms. Add to that no notification of expiring membership and my rating on communications is 5 thumbs down! 23/11 the hours for pool/sauna have increased, except for the annual primary school program 1/12/22 warning to parents that highly obscene music may be playing in the gym & changerooms 10/2/23 went for sauna only to find pool/sauna closed for ladies only. Again NO COMMUNICATION on the change. This manager shows no regard for members and should be replaced by the Genesis Group. Last time I complained he asked me if I wanted a refund so I could go elsewhere, this has occurred to others as well. This below average customer care is intolerable and therefore I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. It's taken months to adjust the timer on the sauna which was shutting down more than an hour before closing. Many of the cardio machines are in poor condition. People from the pool area can see directly into men's toilet/shower area when a door is opened. Locks on shower cubicle doors remain broken, walls remain unpainted. IS ANYONE LISTENING!!!!! 20/9/23 doing better with upgraded equipment in cardio room, painting in mens changeroom still not finished, locks on shower doors improved

Used to be a good gym until new owners and management came into place. Very disappointed with main manager who doesn’t care about members and lies to protect himself. He yells at members rather than come to solutions and very unprofessional approach. You can see from other reviews - they only care about the money here. Quite sad. I hope they can resolve this or just start by getting a new manager in place.

Had a very unpleasant experience with them when i wanted to cancel my membership. I didnt even attend to gym for 3 months because of health reason, finally applied for membership cancellation and had to queued for another month. In the end they charged me for another fortnight, because i was due for another 3 days only. Their excuse was they couldn’t charge for a week since i chose fortnight basis. So guys don’t even think to choose monthly, if you passed 1 days, you have to pay for another month. How ridiculous is that????

Nice gym

This gym is ran extremely poorly. The service is horrific and the facilities are in shambles. You will get tricked into signing up as they say pools/sauna and equipment is available 24 hours but once they take your money, suddenly there are restrictions on facility access. Do not sign up to this gym, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. False advertising and the staff are just there to earn a paycheck, they don't care about the patrons.

Gym needs a complete makeover! Bathrooms are disgusting, filthy & I wouldn’t shower in them! Lockers 97% broken! I swear they haven’t been updated in over 20 + years when my Dad was a member, an utter disgrace!! Equipment isn’t up to date & what is, isn’t even what the staff expected. Weight room equipment is probably the best & most updated, not so much the big room with lifting free weights! It is a real disappointment & I only used once the ladies room once & so outdated, hot & smelly beyond disgusting!! Staff are awesome & I feel for them as they try so hard & deserve an updated gym with all the best equipment which I hope they get considering the members they rip & as I was paying for over a year after my membership was suppose to be cancelled but only cancelled one as was paying for a family member also & only cancelled theirs. I could not go any longer due to personal reasons & my safety with the times I was going & working out. Also injured which they were notified of but nope! Not a safe place & have since found a gym with everything so updated & a full pool, spa & sauna with more classes & is a dream! I don’t have to push myself to go as the environment of this beautiful new classy gym is out of this world! Best in the South East by far!! Classes on offer when I was a member were beyond disappointing & of no interest, not even circuit or anything along those lines! Also my new gym you can get all pampered afterwards! Or anytime with full beauty salon & massage etc... No it’s not all female as more Males than females actually. Never knew how bad equipment actually was (knew it was outdated bar a couple of treadmills but again far from top of the range & have nothing on this new gym) until I started here! Also my now gym doesn’t make you sign up contracts, can pay a year, 6mths, 3 mths in full or pay weekly or fortnightly for those periods as they want in writing 30days notice & have to direct debit which is beyond annoying & knowing my situation & to rip me off when my safety was at risk & also injured so couldn’t go! Also my highly amazing gym is cheaper than this outdated sad place!!! So please do your research & properly look around!!!!!!!! I highly do not recommend!!!!! If they fix the pool & make it full & do a complete renovation with top of the range equipment & make it safer for the times I would go mostly not always & put in a lounge area with drinks you can buy & a snack like they did way back again when Dad went & I was little be much better & be worth what you pay & get on board with this no contract bs & pay in full, not rip clients off & take an interest as they are suppose to in contract every I think 12 weeks go over your routine which they never did also & they could be up there but as it hasn’t been maintained for so many years extremely big dollars & won’t happen. first of all gym has small amount of equipment's to use some are usually broken , however stuff are always making mistakes and never own up to it. manager should consider training them on how to appropriately talk to customers, being disrespectful for no reason is not ok. Not to mention their payment system is a scam wouldn't recommend to anyone

DON'T EVER SIGN UP WITH GENESIS FITNESS!!!!!! On Tuesday 11/4/23 I went to Genesis Fitness Club - Dandenong to have a look at their facilities with potential to sign up to a membership for Reformers Pilates. At the end of the tour we went through pricing and I told them I need to speak to my husband first- Mike insisted that I sign up as this deal: Waiver of $55 membership fee and no payment untill mid May when the reformers pilates class starts- is only for a limited time and that there were only 15 of them left and if my husband doesn't agree I can cancel within the 7 day cooling off period with no charge. So I did this. When I came home and presented it to my husband he didn't agree with it so I sent a cancellation request on their website- the next day I text them at 2pm after hearing nothing back and then Mike called me- attempting to get me to stay on reiterating that I won't be charged till 14th of May when the Reformers Pilates classes start but I still insisted that I could not go ahead with it and he finally verbally agreed to process my cancellation. At 4:30pm I text again saying that I hadn't received confirmation of cancellation to which he replied 'Hi Christine, Your membership termination has been processed. The confirmation can take upto 24hrs to arrive in your e mail.' The next day at 7:30pm (well past 24hrs) I still hadn't received a cancellation confirmation but rather an email from Debit Success not only confirming my membership sign up but that I would be debited from the 18th of April for the joining fee and the weekly fee! I mesaged them again saying 'Hi Mike, I still haven't gotten a confirmation of my cancellation, rather, I got an email Welcoming me to Genesis Dandenong and confirming that I will start getting debited on the 18th of April which, even if I was to go through with membership, this contradicts you stating that debit doesn't start till May... this has all made me very concerned and I need confirmation of my cancellation please. At minimum, please send a written confirmation that you have processed my cancellation within the cooling down period to **email address** asap. Thanks Mike Regards, Christine Hermawan' This was Thursday- On the Sunday after ZERO correspondence from them I messaged Genesis Health and Fitness head office online form who ALSO did not respond!!! I had to email Debit Success twice before getting a response saying that they have not received any cancellation requests from Dandenong Genesis. I called Genesis Dandenong again and Mike insisted that Debit Success wouldn't have record of this as it is all controlled from their backend due to the special price and he insists that it has all been cancelled. I have now been debited the $55 membership fee and $49.95 out of my account I am disgusted at this whole experience. They lied and cheated into a sale. It's absolutely disgusting. I can't believe people operate in such a manner! Disgusting

The new swim management has poor comunication with parants and has no idea of what skill level the kids are at , because she doesn't communicate with the instructors, the people who actually teach the kids week in, week out!

Management and staff are amazing. Continually renovating the facility and fitness offerings. Highly recommend attending first during staffed hours for a thorough tour. Love the new sauna...wow.

I was into losing weight and managing pain, they have great set of treadmills, cycles, step machines... also there is a terrific physiologist, Deanna, who provides bmi scans and lot more, there are massage therapists, and also certified personal trainers!!! I lost almost 6kg in 6 months and improved on muscle mass with guidance from Deanna, looking forward to better health and well-being at Genesis Dandenong!!

The new owner and management are such money hungry they do not care about members. I had to follow up an issue for a week to avoid the wrong directdebit and they failed to complete the admin task. When I spoke to the manager he said they have so many members to service they can't get back to me. I was overcharged i have called head office 3 times and no one has got back to me , the staff are literally teenagers with no knowledge and the manager has no accountability for errors, pathetic!

The place is outdated by every word. The machines are old, and some of them don’t even work. There is low ventilation throughout the entire establishment, especially the women’s section. The equipment is old, so some of them are out of service, and no matter how many times you report it back to staff, nothing gets done about it. They renovated the entrance which was lovely, and they also said they’d be creating another, better entrance to the women’s area. Don’t even get me started on the pool & showers. I ended my membership recently because I barely used it. But in all honesty, I was reluctant to go there because the place is riddled with creepy gym goers. They constantly stare at you, and unfortunately you have to get passed everyone to enter the women’s area. The only reason I used the women’s area was to avoid the eyeball harassment by other members. It’s not worth your money. I will say that the staff are friendly & approachable, and the app keeps you track of your fitness journey.

Guys you need to do something on the heating . Yes ,we all need to warm up, at lease the workout area needs to be room temperature when members walk in. This issue is discussed amount other members every morning. It’s nice in the reception area should be the same . just letting you know . It’s a icy in the workout area. Been at this gym for 2 years now. People may complain about equipment not being to their standard but I just say they aren’t applying themselves. (you fraud) Great environment, the staff are chill and has got everything you need to reach your fitness goals. (Weights, pool, sauna, boxing etc.)

The gym is amazing alr equipment average commercial gym but the worst thing about it is the workers at the front desk. These girls are so bratty always looking at eachother smiling and not caring about the customers. Terrible service but good gym.

Sunday 18/2/2024, I went to have a sauna. However,, when I got there I was informed that 'the sauna hadn't been switched on since it was new". I was also told that they will turn it on the next day. I told the person at the counter that I had come to use the sauna and there were no notifications that it was not "switched on". If we had been informed I would not have come all the way there.

I come today for a free trial pass before decide to get yearly membership. But the staff gave the 6 weeks for $1/w as a much better deal. Then i have a tour. Before he tells me that i need to sign the yearly membership to get this 6 weeks deal. He said i will save lot of money with this deal. I only wanna get the free trial first. He said if i pick the trial, i will not get the first 6 for $1/w. Lastly, he can only give me 1 day trial. On the genesis website is still showing 5 day free trial pass. Not sure what is going on here. But i feel wasting my time with this staff and sth wrong. Hope owner can see my review.

This is a very good gym the Gym management/ renter/ leasee is a very good, polite, gentleman. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All classes are super good. The pool water quality is superb. The cleanness is very good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The massage chairs is superb. The steam room going to more than 5 months not being fixed by the building owner. Is just not good. The Suna is only good for one person. Owner of building needs to fix the steam room as most customers are not happy and leaving.

I have been with this gym for a little over a month now, the classes are really good, instructors are really professional: boxing, body pump and swimming. Equipment is good and people are nice. I have only had terrible service with the customer service team. Twice my pt session was cancel, one with me already waiting there for the pt, the second one was a few minutes before the booked time while I was on my way to the gym via public transport. The night before I even requested confirmation as I didn’t want my first experience repeated! However, the worst interaction was last week after my trail swimming class. I was to the counter to confirm my payment method and a blond hair young lady ignored me completely for more than 5 mins to have a personal conversation with another lady who arrived just after me. Even after another staff member saw me and asked if I was ok, and I advised that I was waiting to confirm payment with the other member (all within her ear shot), she did not apologise or acknowledge my existence, she was more engaged with the personal conversation she was having. This has left a bad taste and I haven't gone back to the gym since as I am starting to feel like just a number, but I stuck in a contract so will have to eventually.

It’s the best gym I have ever been! They literally got everything! Pool, sauna, boxing room, you name it they got it all and many workout classes too and my favourite of course the Pilates class 😍 love it!! Highly recommended gym!

I dont know what all the average reviews are about? I just did my free trial here at genisis dandenong and the gym is nice and up to date, the facilities are very clean including the pool, gym, sauna and toilets/change rooms. FANTASTIC PLACE TO GET FIT!! all staff are super friendly and caring thanks Genisis and the team i will be signing a yearly contract in the next day or so 11/10. Special thanks to Jacob and Carl for showing me around and being such cool champs, and the ladies Emma and Steph on front desk reception were also lovely and helpful.

Gym's pretty basic. Nothing special. However, tried to enquire about something to reception, & the clerk really spent an hour talking to all these other people when he told me he'd be out in about 10mins. Customer service is a downer. I ended up leaving.

Dont no what star to put gym is having upgrades have been told by the rumour mill men are going to be using lady's old change rooms upstairs which is fair because woman aren't born with legs but there moving Sauna to each male and female change rooms im sure it will be fun coming down to the pool after sauna upstairs waiting.... For a huge accident and law suite im guessing there will be a brick wall or something built down the middle of the pool to seperate the men and woman and hoping men get there own exercise area instead of mixed as woman have there own and pay the same doesn't sound very fair to me ive been told old sauna will be converted into showers for the kids when school holidays are on must be great business for the gym as fully paid members dont have access to the pool when the school children come sounds fair so if someone works night shift and would like to swim during the day you can forget about that but there are options you can join another gym while school holidays are on........ Im guessing there will be areas for gay people and disabled people and people of different religions and different ethnicity to be fair give people all there own spaces

It was such a bad experience to join. I asked them about the hidden charges, and then they added up admin fees, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. On weekly payment $17 they detuct extra 15 on enquiry they said won't happen next without any reason made up some other excuse and top of that they claiming still you have some overdues left even after deduction of $120 in a month . The first month was $1 a day, and now it's the same old story you need to come up with. Pay $213 to cancel plus 30 days' notice. For real 😳

The place has all the facilities needed for beginners to experts, throughly enjoy the facilities like the heated pool and sauna, great for relaxation.

So far so good. Loved the ladies area as that's what I mostly use. Just one concern, I didn't know kids are allowed on the gym floor? Using the equipments etc. As it's a ladies only area.. boys shouldn't be allowed in there. That's the whole point of the ladies section I guess? Besides that pretty good gym.

Amaaaazing gym with great facility. New owner Sudesh is super friendly and has renovated the gym to be more appealing with better equipments. Staff Laura, Alex and Sharee are just beautiful, professional and genuinely want to help out new members and existing members.

Have tried a lot of gyms in here but Genesis dandenong is not just a gym, it has Sauna, Swimming Pool with lessons, therapy, boxing training area, ladies training area and many more. I would recommend this place to anyone without a hesitation.

Unable to ever use the pool/sauna facility. Only been able to use it in the mornings as most of the time it’s occupied by the ladies only time or swim classes.

Pretty good gym, nice staff, and has everything a gym needs. Recently got new equipment from TechnoGym which is known to be one of the worst gym brands. Has the worst seated hamstring curl, as the top pad sits on the shins instead of the thighs, and it makes it feel as if the shins are gonna snap. Quite disappointed that they got rid of the Nautilus equipment, such as the lat pull-down machine and padded pec fly as they were perfect machines, and it is one of the best gym brands. Also gym needs more cables, only has 1 proper cable machine that gets crowded at the moment, and the rest of the cables are old and can't be used for chest flies.

Very pleased with the new upgrades at Genesis Dandenong, a lot of new equipment and layout that is slowly transforming to an even better gym. Staff is always lovely which makes it comfortable to train at this gym. One of the pros is how big the building is with many different rooms.

Just joined today quality for money is great two story, pool, sauna, massive range of equipment not too old, all in working order for the price you can't get much better than this in my experience. Worth a look at least I'd say.

Joined Genesis recently from another gym and I am loving it. Loads of training options and very spacious.

Average facilities..

Good customer service and the trainers are professional. However, they should seriously reconsider giving authorization to Debitsuccess the organisation that charges a direct debit. I had to cancel my membership due to medical reasons on Wednesday and although the staff reassured me that she has processed it. Debitsuccess still charged me on Thursday for the next fortnight. This is quite unprofessional at their that they do not have a clear communication with the Genesis staff. I tried calling them a couple of times, on the first instance the staff hung up as soon as I started to explain my issue and on the second they just left me unanswered for a while. So the only issue is probably inter organisational that Genesis needs to sort with Debit Success or else they would keep charging you needlessly.

Many free weights in a large room. Another room contained pinned machines with weights. Another room for boxing with bags and speed balls. Not busy during the day, great gym open 24 hours

Cardio room and so many free weights and cable machines, as well as super friendly staff that actually are so helpful in every way 🙏 I love that I have made this place my new workout kingdom and I suggest you try a workout here they offer a 4 or 5 day free pass but don't quote me on the exact amount of days have a peep at the website it is by far the most informative and responsive web page that IV come across for gyms in the area 🙌 all the info is there but if you give the gym a call the friendly staff have all the answers which is refreshing and so helpful, I love it and highly recommend to check it out 💪💪🤜😎

I just moved across the road from the gym place. One day. I was there to buy a pass for casual swim and its cost me $20 for just casual swim. But staff was so friendly and helpful.

I've enjoyed these facilities for 12 years & there is definitely something for everyone- pool, well equipped main gym, cycle room, boxing/weights room & separate women's area!! Very friendly staff too!!

I am a member of this gym. I like everything except the swimming instructors let their students go into the swimming pool without proper swimwear. Wednesday 24th March around 6.30 pm I noticed a female instructor let her male student into the water who was wearing 3/4 cotton short and a T-shirt. Also, I noticed he hasn't had a proper shower. It was not hygienic and I hope the management will get action for this.

It is a good deal for the price you pay if your training is more than just lifting weight's. Staff is friendly and it is generaly a relaxed environment. This is the best bang for buck if you: - need a boxing room - need strength and contidion room - decent sauna - pump iron You can do better if you: - just pump iron and need brand new equipment and need all the machines you can get. - olimpic size pool In all it is a good place for someone who wants a holistic approach and friendly staff, some of the weigth liftig eq is little bit old but you have majority of the stuff you need.

fraudulent payments. I have been charged twice in one week. Then charged during the lockdown, where the gym is obviously closed. They got no reasons and apologies to make.

Update 16 Jan 24 - Have had to put in a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Avoid if you do not want to be ripped off. Read below for my experience and some calculations. See reviews from other members who also have had bad experiences with memberships and cancellation. Sidenote: If you’re joining for the pools/sauna. That is only accessible during the day when most people are at work or school. In the afternoon they run swim classes for kids, so they block regular members from using that area, or its super weird. Most members who regularly use the facility are annoyed by this. My story. After being a member for a year, I was told by mike that it was cheaper to go on a weekly. It wasn’t. Made it sound like you get an extra week. You don’t. When you do weekly payment, a calendar month gets calculated as 4.3 weeks, so your always paying 3 days more. After doing some research the pricing turned out more expensive than other gyms in the area. For comparison. These guys charge 15.95 per week (12 months) or 13.95 per week (18 weeks). In comparison, Revo on princess highway is 9.69 (newer and cheaper) and XFC Noble Park is $299 for the year (so roughly $6.30, smaller but has most the equipment’s) . Knowing the above info, I cancelled within the cooling off period, this was 2 months ago! They still haven’t processed my refund, which pretty sure is 100% illegal. They kept blaming the debiting company, but it doesn’t take 2-3 months to clear a refund. Still fighting them to process my refund. Join at your own peril Reply to the owner response: Yeah that’s fine and I'm just better informing the public in plain English what they are paying. Is the pool and sauna fully usable during 4-7pm Mon-fri weekdays? being 'accessible' isn't the same as being 'usable' Which is when most members will use it, because there’s literally signs on the change room doors stating otherwise. That’s incorrect, the email mentioned 10-20 business days from the refund confirmation email: 14th of November 2023. So that means the 20th business day was December 12 /13, that’s still before any official holiday started. There still hasn’t been any email confirming this. Once again it doesn’t take 2 months for a refund to come through, unless its not purposely not actioned
