I've walked regularly for a very long while but it took me years to get around to Albert Park Lake. I suppose I worried that parking would be a challenge. I needn't have worried about that. If you drive around on Lakeside Drive, there is plenty of paid parking. On weekends it's a cheap, flat rate. Easy peasy. The walk is just under 5km, paths are in good condition, it's level (I'd say accessible) and is a beautiful walk. Why did I wait so long? There are toilets at a couple of points, playgrounds here and there (though they're nothing special), picnic areas and regular benches if you fancy a sit. You can fish (it gets stocked) or canoe/row/kayak. So glad I finally got around to it!

LARGE PARK AND LAKE CLOSE TO CITY CENTRE Albert Park Lake is a beautiful park just out of the CBD. The lake itself is home to lots of wildlife and to various yachting and boating organisations. Great location for jogging - even has fitness stops along the way. Easy access from the St Kilda light rail tram route (get off at MSAC)

Such a lovely trail with a pretty lake view. I like to come here during my work break and it makes me feel so at peace. There are a few benches dotted around the trail if you want to just sit, relax and enjoy the view.

I rarely come to Albert Park Lake and I don't know why as it is such a lovely place to come for a stroll, looking at the beautiful water views and lovely palm trees. I was actually here today for MS Walk, Run and Roll. I did the 10k Walk and could have done without the drizzle! But great event for a great cause in a great location. Will definitely do event next year but won't wait 12 months before I return to Albert Park Lake. 29.10 here for 5k charity walk and was such a beautiful day, so many people out and about, fantastic.

Only 3km from the heart of the city, Albert Park is popular for a range of activities like dog walking, jogging, cycling, sailing and rowing. Apart from the lake itself, other attractions include sporting facilities, ovals, playgrounds, restaurants and a 5km walking and running track. Sporting facilities include a golf driving range, gymnasium and the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Enjoy a barbecue or picnic with the family. Hire a boat and explore the lake. Walk, cycle or jog around the track, past green lawns and playing fields.

It's just shy of 5kms round the edge of the lake. Trust me. I know. As I've run round it about a million times during this lockdown... And I don't even like running. That's how nice this park is. I heard there used to be a skateboard half pipe here. Not anymore unfortunately. I wish they'd put one back in. Make sure to give momma swan and her babies right of way during the spring/summer months.

Beautiful lookout in the middle of the city . You need to park your car in around the high way and need to walk a long way to see a beautiful city lookout. If the parking is near by it gives more attraction to the scenary

Every spring, we come here to spot the new born swan babies, fluffy and cute. Spring light is dimming through the puffy clouds and Tiffany blue lake. Every is like a magic in a sunny spring afternoon. It is the most beautiful place to chill, to picnic, to have a nice philosopher’s stroll or to just let your mind drift away.

Albert park has an amazing view.. seeing the swan and birds gives some sort of happiness. I wasn't able to capture the beautiful scenery properly on my phone. Great place to have a walk with your dog. This place has public toilets, but it was smelly. Some toilets didn't have toilet tissues.

Perfect outing with your dog, family or friends. If you love bird life it's even better. So many different species. Dogs must be on lead . Take a drink bottle with you.

Once swampland but today a playground and one of the most beautiful and scenic points in Melbourne, just 3 km south of the Melbourne CBD. There's all sorts of both on and off the water outdoor activities including competitive and leisure sailing, rowing, kayaking, canoeing, model yachting, recreational fishing (Rainbow Trout and Golden Perch), bird watching, cycling, jogging (the weekly Albert parkrun), walking and dog walking.

Exercise during Melbourne’s lock down has been so important to me , to be able to go outside and fill my lungs with fresh air . To be able to look across the Albert Park and Lake and see the Spring blossoms on all the trees , to see new life on the lake is so pleasing . This small act of exercise makes such a difference to your day

Very nice and serene. I cannot believe that it was my first time (that's what I said) to walk by the lake on foot. It's definitely a different experience and such a beautiful spot. We took a walk and walked by a few places. Didn't have time to go around the whole lake that day but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A few trees around too to get some sneaky frisbee action in also. On a hot day, the trees give great shade. Embrace the darkness and a break from that blistering heat.

Feel grateful everyday to call Albert Park home! Absolutely love this place! So beautiful and peaceful, the gorgeous swans make me smile every time, there are hundreds of them around the grass and water and they are gorgeous. There are also water fountains around to fill up water bottles. Toilets are spread out, but they are also there. If you're lucky you might come through some sports event during the walk around, and even some hot dogs during some sort of sports fund raising. Then of course, there is the uber exciting Grand Prix! Went for the first time last year, and loved every moment of it! So much fan, super happy vibes, pretty crowded but is the happiest crowd. The happy vibes are all around the neighborhoods. It adds up to the excitement to watch them building all stands etc during the months approaching the grand prix. Kudos to all the people working building all of it to make the magic happen. :)

Fantastic venue for a lake view plus amazing views of the city. Take a nice walk around the large lake to capture great photos, panoramas and videos and showcase your work. As most people will agree, the best times are sunrise or sunset, but if you can’t make it at those times, you can go on a nice clear day and see marvellous scenes, not only the lake, but ducks, birds and others. Unfortunately I went on a cloudy day, but if you have a good quality camera, even on cloudy days the photos will look great. If you like scenery, I would recommend a visit to this place.

A very large lake with a surrounding trail of about 5 km. There are many ducks, swans, seagulls and other birds. They feed, swim, fly and sunbathe in and around the water. Watch the wildlife and the mirror of the water. Forget about the worries of the city life. Listen to the sounds of the animals, water and the winds. Apply sunscreen because of the hot sun. You can jog or walk your dogs. Cycling is not easy because of the sand and narrow path which is close to the lake. Don’t feed the animals.

Possibly one of the best multifunctional inner city parks in the world. Featuring beautiful views of the city, rowing clubs, sailing clubs, and even fishing. The sports complex within its grounds are world-class, and there are a dozen ovals in which to play ball sports, not to mention a 9 hole golf course and covered driving range. And of course Albert Park is the home of the annual Melbourne Formula One race. Hint: To get a photo like the ones I took you’ll need to be up by 6am, and shoot from the eastern edge of the lake.

There's always people here exercising or just having a coffee from the cafe. There's a pretty large lake to walk around and enjoy nature. Baby birds are aplenty this time of year and they don't mind people getting close. The yachting club looks like fun, I went about 10 years ago when working in disability and they had assistance equipment for the disabled. Pretty sure they still would. There's a a play ground for the kids and free parking on Albert Rd on Sundays.

This place is magical... From a morning jog to an after-work bike ride, gym session, multiple olympic size swimming pools, driving range, golf course, etc. you can find anything and everything in between in this one spot. A stunning lake, gorgeous city views/skyline, MSAC (Sports and Aquatic Centre), golf course and the home to the legendary Australian Grand Prix. The transformation from a normal Albert Park to the race track is one of the most amazing features of the city...

Well maintained park by Parks Victoria. Many birds to see such as swans and swamp hens plus there's a big toilet block that's relatively clean and some water fountains around the place. Nice to come on a sunny day but there isn't any shelter if it rains unless you duck under a tree

  • 5/5 Kah Wang T. 4 years ago on Google
Fantastic place for a run with beautiful scenery and cool lake Breeze which makes your run less sweaty. One round around the lake is about 5.8km and there’s plenty of water points and rest rooms along the way. Lots of ducks and swans as well. You can either run on the pavement directly beside the lake or the sand surface near it, in which both are flat. Grab a running jacket along if you are someone afraid of running in the cold weather because the wind can get quite chilly here!
