One of the best places to visit in the S. Eastern suburbs. However, it has a beautiful track to ride your bike with peace and joy beside the lake. Overall, This spot is convenient to walk, swim & have picnic or BBQ to enjoy the nature with kangaroo.

Fantastic place to visit for some fresh air and outdoors fun. Swimming and sailing, paddleboarding etc are allowed in designated areas. A small jetty for disabled sailors and a short distance away is a small beach for paddling and swimming in the lake. Lots of grassed areas for running around, ball games etc. Heaps of free parking in several bitumen parking areas, lots of picnic tables, frequently with pretty views, some right down by the water are sprinkled throughout the park, located under a forest of shady trees. Free BBQs are also located close to many of the picnic areas. Heaps of native flowering plants in season, Birdlife etc. There a lot of gently graded, shady walking trails with views of the lake and surrounding bush, most suitable for prams and wheelchairs. This is a lake set in natural bush surrounds and the water and nearby areas are unfenced, so beware of children wandering and perhaps falling into the water. This lake park is EXTREMELY popular and on warm days, school holidays, weekends etc, parking is frequently full and all tables, BBQs etc will be occupied and entry can be difficult.

Great place to walk or just to have a good old fashioned picnic next to the water. The walk is great and easy. Nice sandy path all round which is good on feet. You will see kangaroos at the very least. Some slippery places due to recent rain. Runners are ok.

Brilliant place for walks and trail running. Disappointing the amount of “people” that leave their rubbish in the park is the only negative, but that isn’t the parks fault! Finding the hidden trails at Lysterfield is the key to unlocking boss level Lysty.

The lake circuit is lovely, but no real views of the water and can be quite busy, lots of kangaroos though. Beware there's only one public toilet right at entrance. Great parking and there's a playground and barbecues. Bike trails and jumps.

Lysterfield park offers a host of choices for outdoor activities. It is particularly suitable for walking, running, biking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. The serenity of the lake offers a welcome break from the busy city life. Interestingly, the beautiful water body also inspires social events. The space right in front of the main parking area is equipped with barbecue cooktops, tables and places to sit/relax. Will definitely recommend this lake and the surroundings to all the nature-lovers. With its beautiful view, wildlife and all the outdoor activities options, it's trully a remarkable place to explore.

This park is perfect for families for day picnics and outings. It has spacious designated parking areas, BBQ & swimming areas, different tracks for runners and cycling and a variety of birds, animals and plant life to witness directly. Depending upon the weather, this place can elicit different moods and emotions. If you want to experience some solitude and stillness in/with Mother nature's bosom, my suggestion would be to visit here in the early morning hours. Cheers & enjoy your walk in the woods.

Lysterfield Lake has been a family favourite of ours for years. Biking, walking, the free BBQs, and enjoying nature. We were there yesterday and it was so disappointing to see the amount of people ignoring basic rules, no dogs, and take your rubbish with you. I have never seen so much rubbish there in the 8 years I have enjoyed the place. Please everyone look after our conversation areas so that future generations can still enjoy a free fun day out.

An amazing place to visit, and perfect for walks, bike riding, hiking, and Even have designated horse float parking, tie ups, and horse riding trails. Lots of wildlife to spot and perfect for those who love to get nature photographs, and perfect to draw/sketch from life/photos. I find it a beautiful and peaceful place to go, with facilities, including barbecues, toilets, and fountains for water. There are no bins, to encourage us to take our rubbish home, but I think it is having a negative result. They have a small dock also to launch canoes off, which is gated for safety reasons. Key can be obtained from the Park Ranger. Plenty of kangaroos and beautiful water to swim in.

👍 Two paths to the lake .. much of muchness : both at least 500m walk, easy walk down hill - but if hike back up.. (some stairs one the right hand path (looking toward lake) tho. The river flowing on either side does not run through it, but the still cool water seems pretty good to me.
