Plenty of walking trails and a maze of MTB trails in this region of the gorge. The circuit around Blue Lake is a popular one. People also swim in the lake. If you're spending the afternoon there, please remember to take your own rubbish away with you. It was sad to see a lot of rubbish left and empty bottles in the lake.

Great place for a walk and a swim. Went there without bathers but I couldn't help jumping into the lake anyway. Will definitely be returning!

Beautiful afternoon walk at Yellow Gum Park and the Blue Lake in Plenty Gorge. Such gorgeous views. Great walk to do with kids. The track is wide (fire access track) although made from gravel. A pram would be okay, but probably not a stroller. Mountain biking is extremely popular in the park as well. We walked the loop around the Blue Lake from the carpark. But there are many more tracks to explore!

Nice walking or biking trail path, large picnic areas. Road to the park is gravel with many holes, so car with lower ground clearance can have hard time. Park has BBQ area, toilet and table. For people with kids and pets, be careful as there are cliff edge and deep water. Good place to visit and enjoy.

Such a beautiful place for a good hearty walk, blue lake is lovely and nice for a dip on a hot day. Great for an old quarry. Suggest to get in early as there is not many places to set up a picnic blanket in the shade. Sitting spaces only in 2 spots.

All the different little ways and spots along the river are incredible. I can connect with nature a lot and watch the water, birds, trees, butterflies, little animals. I meet very nice people they are part of the Facebook group β€œMelbourne girls outside”. Every Sunday mountain bike tours where people come together. There is a outside bbq area and toilet too. Here a big wish: leave the land cleaner that when you found it. Please respect nature and take your rubbish with home πŸŒ±πŸ™πŸ½

Nice park not far from the city. Highly recommended. Lots of trails for exploring with creeks, lakes and hills Spot multiple animals such as birds, rabbits, kangaroos and even wombats. However it can a bit un-relaxing with all the bikes. Lots of bmx tracks as well

Nice quiet place. Great for a day out. Too bad I didn't bring a bather but next time I will. Don't own a dog but don't understand why dogs are not allowed there even on leash. Witnessed park rangers told people that this is no dogs area. I mean what's the harm having them in nature and keep them on leash.

This gem of place is a total workout. Feels like a hike due to its uneven terrain. This place has a huge lake so maybe also take your swimsuits and water bottles !!!

I love the lake and I love the moss in the lake, I love the weird monster that lives in the lake and if that monster ate me one day, that would be okay.

A nice spot for a walk with pretty sunset views. ThΓ© there are a few different tracks you can take, some of them are bmx tracks which are still walkable but steep in some parts. Lots of wildlife, I saw a wombat and an echidna and lots of birds and kangaroos.

One of my favourite spot now, you either can walk , hike, cycling or run but no signboard, so make sure you download the apps before start your journey. Bunches of kanggaroos too. Highly recommended @avocardio_melbourne

Brought the wife and baby on the back for a hike only to find out the main entrance is closed. Although it’s still pack with people (jumping over the gate :) ) We just walked down the path of where we parked and went around and ended up close to the gorge. Beautiful view and the path we took is probably perfect for dirt bikes. If you have a baby, put them in a carrier and avoid prams. The whole area is beautifully lush green. I just wished they gave more information on why the parks are closed. Oh well. We will be back again.

Great place. But watch out weekend pretty full. But in saying that I might be a little bit of a loner and love my peace and quite. There is now plenty of places across the road to get a coffee or have lunch. But all in all it's a great place.

Beautiful little spot, with great surrounding nature, walks and a mini lake that's perfect for mini dip - bring a floatie so you don't have to touch the very muddy bottom. The public toilets are at the start of the walk down, so a fair walk if you're not willing to do the bush thing.

No kangaroos or any other endemic animals. That's a disappointment. There are toilets and a picnic area. It's dog-friendly, of course. You are in the forest. You can swim in the lake but I don't know how hygienic it is because the lake seems green because of mosses.

Almost pristine the Yellow Gum Park is a best place who enjoy the quietness of nature. Native wild animals for example, porcupine you will see roaming around seeking for pray. Distant and nearby birds’ melodious chattering welcome you in deep of the forest. Seeing green lake (many described it as Blue, but I found it green because of the algal growth) from the cliff of the mountain is just mind blowing. The sheer beauty of nature from the frightening hill cliff helped me to unconsciously slowdown, pause myself allowing ideas to flow. Diving deep into nature taking a break from mechanical life is not bad at all. There is no litter bin, but toilets are available. Follow the trekking trail as it spirals. Parking is good. Unsealed road surface – it wowed me.

Blue lake and it's surrounds used to be a wonderful place to come. Unfortunately recently there have been people on motor bikes, people walking their dogs where there is meant to be no dogs allowed and lots of broken bottles. It's unfortunate everything needs to be constantly patrolled for people to do the right thing.

Great little native oasis in suburbia. So good to get lost on the myriad single trails. But I get sad every time I come because erosion and overuse are slowly and surely killing this place. ?

Sadly this place gets more degraded every time I go. Broken glass, food containers and ciggie butts are littered throughout the walks. MANY people walking dogs (prohibited in all National Parks) on and off leash, some people not cleaning up after their animals. Really sad to see peoples attitudes to keeping this place nice for everyone ☹

Tracks doing well and parking is great, just keep in mind the algal content in the water, and if it gets a bit too green it might become less safe for swimmin

Nice place for a short bush walk. Saw many people swimming in the lake as well. The view from the top is pretty nice. The path is pretty uneven & rocky so could be a bit tricky for those in wheelchairs or pushing prams.

Really nice park, with range of walks for all ages and groups. Remember to bring water, as there are no drinking water in the park. Plenty of parking spaces and areas to rest. Though there are sign post warnning not to swim, you can see young kids swimming in the lake.

  • 5/5 Tamara G. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place. Though it would help to know length of walks. Loads of cyclists though so not very relaxing walking. Lake had people swimming and was music blaring on the day we visited. Nice vibe though. Probably good out of holidays.

Somehow ended up in Mill Park and found this landmark in the vicinity and decided to give it a visit which ended up being a good trek as we were pressed for time. • 3/5 Zafer A. 2 years ago on Google
First time visitor. Pot holes need to be maintained. Not enough signs telling you where is what or how long a walk it is. Needs more parking, as there might be problems when lockdown ends & the warmer weather arrives. Picnic area is nice but could be better if there were more trees there. Oh the toilets could do with a bit of maintenance. Apart from that, it's worth a visit. It has alot of potential. My recent visit there, I noticed that it needed more picnic tables & some needed repairs. Afew more sheltered picnic tables would help as well. Maybe a ranger could patrol the area, as I noticed rubbish laying around. Plus doggie droppings, where it says no doggies permitted.

I have been coming to blue lake for around 25 years now. Nothing much has changed- the old quarry that filled up with water still has the same hue minus the old car shells. A very peaceful and serene spot to escape the summer heat and ratrace for a while.
