It would be great if sensor lights could be installed. Not sure if the night lights will make an impact on the animals though 🤔

Perfect place to go on walks (alone or with your dog) and enjoy nature. Beautiful and peaceful. I love it when you can see cute little ducklings around

An excellent place for walking, running, walking your dog or just relaxing. The place is huge, so lots of places if you are looking to picnic, play or just chill. It is an off leash (dog) park too. Thanks.

We love taking our dog to the Gardiner's creek. Such a beautiful spot in the heart of eastern suburbs. We used live right on the reserve and our dog would go down to play with other dogs almost 4 times a day! Even though we have moved further away now still this reserve continues to be one of our favourites! Great place to socialize your dog, walk off lead and go for a quick swim in the creek. There's water fountains for your doggo in the park.

Really beautiful place to go with your family, kids or friends. Great walking, running and cycling trail. If you're a dog owner or a lover, this is one of the places you should go to see those happy faces. There is ample spots around to park your vehicles. Highly recommend this reserve.

Nice place for a bbq. / covered seating area. Was easy to find parking However there weren't many spots in the carpark we found. A busy day or once it becomes more well known. Might struggle for parking. A lot of dog walkers on / off leash dogs were Abundant. Th3 covered seating areas make it great as it allows all weather events / park hangouts.

Beautifully spruced up and restored; though Deakin seems to be "encroaching" into her borders. Remember an earlier time when there were ducks in the creek ...

Large area, perfect for a quiet walk around the park with your dog of the lead, a picnic or even gathering with friends for a good cause. There is a big open area, referred as the "Big oval" by regular park goers which is good for taking dogs of the lead. In the middle there is a covered area with two tables and 2 coin gas barbecue/stoves. Right next to this area there is tap water. Usually in the mornings and evenings there is some people jogging, running or riding their bikes. Also there is a "Park run" in this park on Saturdays.

Nice place for a evening sunset outing by the beach. A small walk to pier with the Crescent shaped beach view was awesome. If lucky can go for fishing as well by the pier for a fresh catch.

Gorgeous beach with good facilities (public toilets, cafe etc.) beautiful clear water and a great place to take your kayak for a paddle in the bay. TOP TIP: the beach to the left of the sailing club was a lot quieter but just as pretty!

A beautiful walking trail with easy access for all ages. The trail was great for walking, running or cycling, and fantastic for taking your dog both on and off leash, depending on the area of the reserve. The walk can be shortened, or continue all around the creek. There are several car park places available, and lots of picnic areas and a children's playground.

Great open offleash trail for the dogs to run, but the water in the creek and swale generally are pretty murky / muddy. But it has quickly turned into my dog's favourite place for a run & swim. There's also a nearby dog friendly shopping centre (Burwood Brickworks) to grab a bite / coffee / drink afterwards. About 5 mins drive away.

Wide useful track linking Burwood to Box Hill and Burwood to City in opposite directions. I bike and it saves 110m + /- in elevations on roads Burwood to box hill as follows creek but has zero personality, zero fun bits and zero standout features l... It's the same from start to finish pretty much. Utilitarian if nothing else.

Great spot for dogs to run around with lot's of different tracks to take. Can get a bit muddy in some areas when it's been raining consecutively. Just means you take a different path.

Fantastic trail to run on. Super flat and takes you all the way to the city. It’s well-kept and has water taps and bike repair stations so it’s a very well supported trail. I come here every Sunday for my long runs.

I am living 5 minutes walking distance from the reserve. I go to the reserve 3 - 4 times a week. I never feel bored. The best part of the reserve is a very dog friendly park. There are not only tracks for walking dogs (around 3km round trip), but also are open spaces that your dogs will find friends to play with. In the same time, it is a family friendly park. There are playgrounds, wetlands, BBQs, and ducklings. It is a park defintely for dog lovers and families.

It's a lovely place with ample of trees and dog off leash areas for a walk. Upside, it has sufficient benches for a picnic and we'll maintained grass areas. On downside, no toilets access and bins are comparatively less. Water fountains are available at certain intervals so carrying drinking water for humans and dogs is less of worry.

Pleasant place to go for a walk, and fishing. Family- and children-friendly. A lot of people enjoy their picnic on the deck and there is a restaurant, looks good. Me and boyfriend fished for few times, not my fishes bite the hook but only the puffer fish, fun enough though,

Great spot for swim or dinner or just chilling. Enjoy the sand.

  • 4/5 H J. 5 years ago on Google
Awesome on a quiet day, not heaps of sand so you are close to the water without a big walk across it. Also great for little kids as it is generally shallow and calm. Kiosk close-by for coffees/icecreams too. Only thing is parking is metered and not cheap, but most beaches along that stretch are similar anyway.

I live nearby and I haven't been here until I decided to take my bike out for a spin around the area. I went in from High street and head up north to Box Hill South - lots of playground for the kids to get into and you can see ducks navigating the creek. Lots of shaded area where you and your family can sit down and have lunch or snacks. Highly recommended for folks near the area.

"You tack the high road and I will the low road". Your start point can be the Carpark adjacent to the Bennetswood Bowling Club on Station Street. Check out the signage as there are restrictions. This walk meanders along the Gardiners Creek through a gentle landscape splitting into a creek walk and a bush walk, joining again at the rear of Deakin University. There is plenty of shade from the sun making this a relatively cool walk in the summer. A delightful walk or a healthy run; it is up to you. I can guarantee you will love it and visit it often.

Very beautiful park with nice walks along the river, favourite sections were the parts of the river with stones that I could step across and exercise my ankle strength and dexterity. Lots of beautiful dogs (off-leash park), really enjoyed getting to appreciate both the scenery and the friendly dogs constantly running by having a grand ol time. They were all good dogs and deserved that joy. Minus one star for... a park bench being ripped out of its flooring and tossed into the river?? What's up with that?? Honestly like not a huge impact on my experience but I do want parks and waterways - particularly ones with such beautiful bird life - to be treated a little better than that. I'm sure it's not the park caretaker's fault, or I hope not, but honestly I don't even know how someone could carry that bench and table there without some kind of mechanical assistance or superhuman strength, given that the bench was clearly positioned more than 10 meters from the water AND there was a fence and bushes partially in the way. Honestly I just want the gossip on whoever created that mayhem and will update with 5 stars if someone gives me the sweet goss.

A very nice beach. Sand is soft and clean. Water is shadow, peaceful and crystal clear. Very friendly for young kids. There is around three unisex public toilets for change. There is also a public water shower point to clean up the salt water and sand. There is a boat ramp suitable for boating. Car park is $17.5 per day which is a bit pricey. Overall a nice beach to visit.

Here is my abbreviated TripAdvisor review of Half Moon Bay Victoria. It is a stunning bay / beach. It has exceptional rock formations and cliffs, interesting walking paths and has works from the Bayside Artists Trail - see separate review. It is part of the suburb Black Rock and houses their Yacht Club, a pier, some restaurants, beach huts and the remains of the Cerberus, a historic shipwreck. There are a few carparks to choose from al with app or credit card access. When I was there some models were doing a photo shoot along the rocks which were a great contrast to their clothes. Grab some fish and chips and eat along the water break near the pier, just like I saw some tourists do. It is such a sheltered inlet that it is popular with families with little children and the locals. It is worth spending at least an hour walking around here and viewing all there is to see. Don't forget your camera!
