Great experience…! Love to repeat it more and more…! The price is reasonable and you can ride unlimited rides. Children are amused and excited being there. Suitable for kids and adults. Highly recommended especially in school holidays.

It’s my first time there.. I was amazed from the entrance itself. The staff are welcoming and so professional. You will notice that they do their work with passion.. noticed that they always double checked before running any rides. Have been there for the Halloween night event.. could not spent the night better anywhere. The rides are too good and there are a number of choices for different taste and levels. An attraction not to be missed in Melbourne!

This place we would be perfect for the younger kids as all the rides are located very near each other, however for the adults, I would recommend only buying the entry fee which will include one free ride. We chose the scenic railway to experience riding on the heritage listed roller coaster 🎢 and to enjoy the views of Port Phillip Bay! Highly recommended if you are visiting St Kilda! There are cafes located inside to enjoy some shade on a hot day.

It was great experience with kids. I had discounted tickets with RACV but later I found that I could get cheaper with small ideas. Food in cafe was great. Smell in roller-coaster was horrible but otherwise having a great time

The Lunapark is a spectacle of lights, music, performances and rides. Admission is free but individual rides have to be paid for. The park is located in the St. Kilda district, which is home to numerous restaurants, bars and hotels - the walk to and from the beach is short.

Not a bad little park! The queue for the roller coaster ride was huge and we didn’t get a chance to ride but all other rides were well maintained and surprisingly genuinely enjoyable considering the size of this park. Probably wouldn’t recommend if you’re a tourist and have limited days in Melbourne but great place for local families to spend time in. It looks amazing when the lights comes on in the evening too!

I rate Luna Park 5/5. There's lots of fun rides, including the Ghost Train, Power Surge, Pirate Ship, Scenic Railway, the ship that goes upside down, (don't know the name), the Supernova, and lots more. The pricing of food is okay, and there are mini games that are $5 each. The prices are pretty good too. For a child, unlimited rides are $40 and for adults $50. If you want to take your kid and not go on any rides yourself, you can buy an only park entry for $5. Overall, I would recommend Luna Park to anyone who likes heights and spinning.

only suitable for children. do not be fooled, this park is very tiny - similar to that of a school fair with an absurd pricetag of $51. The only two rides that weren't just spinning machines were out of order. The rest of the rides were cramped into a hot, overcrowded, daggy looking park. Every ride was underwhelming, and sickening. The biggest thrill was wondering when one of us would break and suggest leaving. Even the 11 hour drive to Sydney's Luna park would be more exciting.

We were there at the right time. Barely any wait times for rides. Most staff are super friendly. Hot food is priced well and is actually delicious. Entry fee is a bit pricey though.

It's Luna Park! Maybe it's a bit overpriced, and the rides are a bit old, but the kids just love it. The staff love what they do, and it's a fun day of joy. We spent a few hours there and enjoyed ourselves immensely. They are young and not too adventurous, so it was 2 rides each. They loved the dodgems and dart game. They're still playing with that trick ice cream cone! It's an institution! Long live Luna Park!

We had an amazing time! The amount of rides in such a small space is really well done so impressed. It was super busy but that's to be expected especially on a public holiday, though the booking online only was an excellent way to manage the crowds.

Visited on a weekday specifically Wednesday. I purchased the unlimited ticket. Luckily, me and my partner experienced all the rides with a less minimum time. So it will be good to visit during weekdays to compensate the tickets. However when it comes to food, it’s a little bit pricey and toilets are hard to find.

Luna Park is a very fun Amusement Park with many rides. I have been here many times as this park brings entertainment and pleasure. First of all, There is also food to eat there. They have an amazing roller-coaster. The scary rides are precisely my favorite as they thrill one another. This amusement park brings refreshement to our lives and it's great fun. In addition, Luna Park should provide more benches to sit and eat. They should also bring new rides as the ones that are already here are outstanding. Luna Park should also lower their prices as they are quite high however the rides amke it worth it. In conclusion, Luna Park is a great experience and is recommended to everyone! Can't wait for my next trip over. Thanks!

Good place to visit if you are in Melbourne, however it can be quite expensive. We only went of the roller coaster (which was super fun and had amazing views of St Kilda) however be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes in line to get on some rides. The arcade was also super fun!

The ques can be long for some rides over an hour so we missed the scenic roller coaster. But the fact you pay one price for all rides is great. Food was nice but again a little wait time.

One of the only best theme parks near Melbourne with awesome rides like roller coaster, giant whee, haunted train and more. It's situated in a perfect location near the St Kilda beach and you can enjoy the view if you take the Giant wheel.

If you r looking for a day out having some fun, this is the place to go. If you are looking for a fantastic amusing park... Not the place to go. It is small, cute but small. The rides are 'vintage'. My kids had a great day with their friends.

Attended at the start of Jan 2022 with my two kids 9 and 6. Overall really positive experience. We arrived at opening time of 11am and there was a really long queue already. The venue is more historic and not large. The Ghost Train, Scenic Railway and Dodgems rides have longer waits so arrive early and ride those first. Pros: -There is plenty of flat rate parking in the surroundings streets -The staff were helpful and cheerful. Site was clean. -The wait times for most rides accurate -Don't have to exit through the gift shop -You can pre purchase tickets on the website before the day Cons: -The food was a bit on the expensive side and healthy choices severely limited. Mostly deep fried. You can bring your own food in. -A ride wait time board would be helpful -The Ferris wheel queue is slow! -No pass outs Things to consider: -Most ride require children to be over 120cm to ride alone otherwise you need an adult to ride along -The male and female toilets are segregated however there are baby change rooms at both -Pro tip: the camera on the scenic railway is on the drop as you commence the second circuit (just before where you board) on the right hand side.

Great fun for all the family. Limited rides for small children. There are height requirements for most rides. I highly recommend buying unlimited ride tickets and buying online before going. They have a limit on numbers entering. The family ticket is the best value for a family. Additional tickets can be purchased through the family pass section for a reduced price if your family/group is larger than 4.

Good fun. Lots of rides packed in to small space. The scariest part of the scenic railway is when they tell you it is 100 years old! Food is slow and expensive as is expected. Buy tickets online- approx $50 for unlimited adult rides.

Great place for kids and particularly teenagers to have a good day in the sun. Lots of restaurants in walking distance as well as the beach right behind the park. Al of the rides are fun and have different levels of adrenaline. Not much to do for younger kids and adults who maybe don’t wanna spin upside down. Over all semi-reasonable prices (still got the theme park food price tag but it’s not totally unreasonable). The staff were all lovely and involved. When some teenaged boys were yelling out to me and my friend, the staff made sure we were okay and safe. The staff clearly enjoy their job and it makes the overall experience better Overall a great place to spend a day.

Haven't been in ages. Few rides under construction and unfortunately it was too windy to operate the great scenic railway roller coaster so it was closed. Recommend not to go on a windy day! Fun day nonetheless 😀

Nice little amusement park located in St Kilda which is circa 15/20min drive away from the Melbourne CBD. Lots of rides are kid-friendly but can also be very fun and scary at the same time!! Would recommend as an experience if you are in town and have not been here before but don't think I will be back again (I did have fun though!). Note unfortunately the famous rollercoaster was under maintenance until later this year so was not able to go on it🥺

A must go to when in Melbourne! $55 per adult for unlimited rides i do believe it is quite expensive as the park is incredibly small! The old historical train roller coaster is awesome fun! And if you do just pay the entry fee with one free ride I highly suggest to do the rollercoaster train!

  • 4/5 Jeremy L. 2 months ago on Google • 82 reviews New
A quaint theme park in the heart of trendy St Kilda. The scenic rollercoaster was really fun and gave you a perfect view of all around stKilda. We also witnessed the sunset which was fun. There were many other good rides too, and some traditional carnival games, food trucks and the essential souvenir shop. A fun day out for the whole family, or with your partner or friends. Queues can be a bit long (30 mins+), and the park is not always open, so look on their website for all the information.

My family and small children have been to several places around the world like Luna Park, so this review is much influenced by that perspective - it's tiny though with plenty of rides. The rides are okay. It gets packed even when the door has just opened so prepare for a long queue and arrive way earlier than open time. The system how they get people in even after you have bought tickets online is pretty slow There isn't much variety of stalls to buy food from and not enough space to sit or hang around and enjoy, except rides and a few games. If you didn't come to Luna Park, you did not miss a lot.

It’s got a lot of rides that you just want to keep going. If you’re there with friends then it’ll be lots of fun and excitement. The food can get expensive so try and bring your own lunch if you want to save a bit of money. Overall Luna park is a great place to take the family or go with friends.

Thank you for the experience Luna Park Melbourne, if anyone is visiting Victoria you must stop at this family-fun-day-out themepark and take a ride on the Scenic Railway at the very least. The admission price is a little questionable but if you just visit and go on one ride, the Rollercoaster has the best view and it goes for a few more minutes with thrills and laughs. Great for a day out with friends. Although there is not much to see, once you've done it once, you've done it all. The rides don't change much and there is limited parking if you drive - unkess you want to pay. Food can be expensive so bring your own snacks. Lines can get long, especially for the wooden rollercoaster. Although if you are just looking for a good day out in st Kilda then this place is great.

Kids liked the rides and it was so much fun for them. However, the food and drink was not the best. Coffee was not good. For a place like that, food quality could be better. Regardless, it was great. Objective is to make the kids happy and they were. 🎪

It's a very small area, stuffed full with a couple of rides. The rides aren't that exciting or special and the price per ride is ridiculous. The only sensible way is buying an unlimited rides ticket. Food is decent but we didn't find any water fountains to fill up bottles. Wait time for the scenic railway was never less than an hour.

This was our kids second time experience visiting Luna Park. The first visit when they were very young and they hardly remembered anything about it. So this time around they would remember this experience 🤣 it’s a very enjoyable experience for them - that’s for sure. I could tell from their faces and lots of story telling from them.

Its a good option to spend time with your kids in Melbourne, Entry to luna park is $15pp that comes with a complimentary 1 ride of your choice or buy $51.50 per adult & $41.50 for child up-to 12 years for unlimited rides including entry. Food outlets, cafes & ice-cream joints settled up inside with a-lot of sitting area to enjoy the food. Buying food inside isn’t expensive but you can bring your own food up-to some limit.

Didn't realise when went there at 11am on a Sunday morning would need to queue for 20 minutes before we got in, even though we had brought entry tickets online. But once inside, fantastic! However for reasons I can't explain the first thing I did was get on the Dragonboat ride, which in my day was the Pirate Ship, with a friends 14 year old son. We sat right at the back and then I thought I should move 2 rows down, Thank goodness. Oh my when I did this as a teenager I found it exhilarating but not so today, I was basically holding on for dear life and couldn't wait for it to end, I think if I was in back row I would have been in tears! After that shock went on the Ghost Train which was well, lame. Then husband and teenager went on the Spider. Went on other (sedate) rides and had a go at the Laughing Clowns that have bettered me for the years I have been feeding balls into their mouths. We also had takeaway coffees (soy latte and flat white), hot chips and good old hot jam donuts. Went to gift shop but disappointingly didn't have tshirt size I wanted. We were there for 2 hours and really needed 3 hours. Will go back because unfortunately today Scenic Railway down for maintenance and want to go on that, though after my experience on the Dragon Boat who knows.

Absolutely great fun. Saw all sorts of ages and families there. Ensure you read the minimum height and maximum height restrictions if you have children or really tall people wishing to ride. And probably bring your own water and snacks, unless you're rich. Extremely fun and thrilling.

A sunny Sunday had us come good on promises to take some children visiting from overseas to this iconic Melbourne institution. Huge lines to get in saw us lined up for just on an hour. Pre-purchased tickets didn't speed up the process any. Inside the place is quite well maintained and there is a decent selection of rides to choose from. Long lines for most of the rides kind of eats into the fun. Pretty fast service at the food stands. Toilets are plentiful and clean.

Was a good experience with the kids. Was invited for a kids' birthday party. The entire place looks run down. I haven't been since 2013 and so visiting this year seemed like not much has been done to uplift the place aesthetically. The rides were great and still is. Part of the place is under reno so it limits movement and crowds form really quickly.

A historic Amusement park with appropriately fitting old rides. Quite small in size, the main attraction is the scenic railway (recommend taking it as the sun goes down). The views from the scenic railway rollercoaster and the pendulum ride are great. Safety standards could be better, I could stand up on most rides even with the constraint/seatbelt on. Food options available inside.

You have to try the Great Scenic Railway. This is by far the best ride, and the most family friendly. The kids (above a certain height) and adults will get a thrill out of this. It can get busy so be strategic about the time you go - otherwise you could be waiting over 45+ mins for a ride. Love the view of St Kilda beach from the rides. Best in summer!!

Good place to bring the kids. Rides are OK but the venue is crowed especially in the holidays. Not enough shady spots to rest. Other than this the venue is fantastic. Expensive but what is not expensive in Melbourne? Staff are OK but can be more friendly. Some rides seems a little bit old and not maintained but all in all a very good experience.

Luna Park is pretty cool, a little outdated and run down, but cool. The scary old rollercoaster was the highlight for me. Staff were friendly and food was pretty good.

very good place but little crammed up in a small place. Is in the current situation of covid, it feels not safe to go to a crowded location, but the rides are very exciting, good food options too available after a exciting fun filled day of rides.

Really great fun experience. Atmosphere was good. The lines were long but we're moving. Food prices are ok and portion sizes are good. One suggestion they should have family combos at cheap prices to be more affordable and accommodating. Other than that had a wonderful and fun day with my family.

Great place for kids. Our five year old had a great time! Lots of rides for him as well as arcade and carnival games. The only downside is the price, a little expensive but all in all a good time for us adults and our little one!

We arrived just before opening and the line moved quickly whilst Most staff we came into contact with were wonderful. The entry and food prices were reasonable, we found ordering food online with tickets was Convenient. We loved the scenic railway, speedy beetle and the carousel. The one thing I was unhappy about is the lack of control over the line to the dodgem cars. It took over an hour with people constantly pushing and letting their friends in. When staff changed, the woman made an announcement to the line which was appreciated. Despite that, we would definitely return.

My Son took a fall there and within minutes first aid came along. They quickly gave us a wheel chair and took him into the first aid room, wrapped his ankle up, and iced it up. We only went on x 2 rides and they offered us another free credit to come back as I purchased a family pass and my son could not walk. Great staff they have there and for our time we spent there quality food and less than 15m waiting in line. Great to see an old school theme park still giving great service and high enjoyment ❤️❤️👌👌

Great trip down nostalgia lane. A great visit and affordable. It is small and there were a few rides and renovations in progress but when complete should look fantastic. The carousel in my opinion is amazing. So old school you fee like you are on the set of a movie. They only lost a star because of the facade being blocked off for photos.

excellent for kids and also for adults, as the history of some of the rides ( like the carousel) make fascinating reading like it was built in USA , cost 26 000 dollars, and is 1 of only 68 ever built, and the only 1 ever exported also the staff are helpful and put the safety of the children as their no1 priority

Really fun day out for all with rides and attractions for all ages. We went for a birthday and it was a lot of fun just running from ride to ride. Going on a Saturday isn’t the best idea however, with ride lines being up to 1.5hrs in some cases but if you wait back for families to clear out it’s a lot less crowded. Though even until closing the scenic railway had a line with a 60min wait time. The dodgem cars and arcade was also under renovation which left out a classic favourite. The food was so so with the mozzarella sticks and squid not really delivering but if you’re going to Luna park for the food then that’s not the best reason to head along. It was fairly priced though and the admission was $50 for unlimited rides with other packages on offer for all. It’s a staple of Australia to head along to Luna park so certainly happy to have visited again and do recommend adding this to the trip list.

I never got to go as a kid but I finally went for this year's Luna Dark ! Yes the weather wasn't the best and some rides didn't operate due to safety concerns( which I prefer ) but it was an amazing night. The staff / cast were all dressed up and made for a very good Halloween experience when they went around trying to scare people. Pricing was reasonable. The tickets for that night were a good price considering it was unlimited rides with it. And food was about average for theme parks. Carni games are expensive. All of the rides are good fun and look well maintained. Negatives- The park closed at 11 but they started closing ride lines around 9.50pm - 10pm. They then realised that lines disappeared quickly and they were empty by 10.20 so they then reopened again. ( yes it's not that bad but cut lines at around 10.30 then close when lines are all empty). Only other negative is that the park needs some TLC. Paints are worn throughout the park and a lot of lights bulbs are blown/out. Overall a great experience.

100 the best place so much to do great food. My kids have been there 20 times and never gotten bored. The scenic railway is fun. The pharaohs curse is 100% recommend everything about it it’s just nostalgic.

Went down to Luna Park recently for my sons friends 11th birthday get together an it was great. We go there from time to time and it's always just how we remember it, very pleasant with a great atmosphere, fun, chill with a reasonable wait time for rides and always has that awesome feel of nostalgia when the place lights up at night. Family friendly, fun and well priced for a day out. Weather you like the over 100 year old carousel 🎠 or something a little faster, Luna Park is always a winner 🏆

Never been in winter before but I'm now sold on the idea. Everything operated as normal and very little wait time. Rug up and have fun with family and friends. Note some rides don't operate in the rain or wind so pick a Winter's day that's sunny still. We stayed to closing time so it was fantastic to see the rides all lit up once the sun went down. The scenic railway was under maintenance but that was clearly listed on the website before we left home. We received some free passes to go on the scenic railway at another time (not passes to the whole park, just the railway). 4/5 stars because the food is so expensive and the toilets a little messy. Everything else is excellent.

Fun place to come although the rides are a bit rundown considering this place has been operating since 1923!

Luna Park Melbourne is an absolute thrill-seeker's paradise! From the moment you step foot inside, you're transported to a world of pure excitement and joy. The park's iconic entrance, with its huge smiling face, sets the tone for an unforgettable adventure. The rides are incredibly diverse, catering to everyone's taste and fear level. Whether you're a fan of heart-pounding roller coasters or prefer the classic carnival attractions, Luna Park has it all. The atmosphere is electric, with vibrant lights and a constant buzz of laughter and excitement. Don't miss out on the delicious food and entertaining shows. Luna Park Melbourne is an absolute must-visit for all ages!

I've been to Luna Park 3 - 4 times and each experience was different. My last visit was Luna After Dark, and it was fun! First stop the Scenic Railway (always a gut getter for me), ghost train boy that was a let down...First and last for that ride. Upgrade it guys. Ferris wheel was great for views and swinging (hehe), tram dark experience was interesting, DARK and wet. Haunted maze was good, dark and scary! Wanted to go on the Spider but the line got too long. That's the bummer with some of the rides, long lines & some seats aren't filled on the rides. Ended the night with a soothing ride of the Carousel. If you need a finisher, ride the Carousel. 🎠

Really good theme park with affordable prices(although I think it will excite children more than adults😅) But overall the rides are very safe and fun for families so I would definitely recommend this place👍

Luna Park doesn't quite measure up to the standards of contemporary parks; there's room for improvement. The standout feature is the Great Scenic Roller Coaster. However, my trip to Luna Park was quite expensive and frustrating. The queues were excessively long, and the process of getting on rides was slow, taking what felt like ages. There seemed to be a shortage of staff, causing delays in loading and unloading people from the rides.

Fun. I’m not too interested in the rides but enjoyed the stall games. Good to spend the evening there and enjoy the atmosphere. The entrance is unique and the products at the gift shop are at reasonable price.
