It's a beautiful park. I go for walks here every other day. Please keep your eyes on the trails and watch out for Tiger snakes. I saw one the other day and freaked out so badly I lost footing and was super close falling into the river haha.

Great walk at Yarra Bend Park / Studley Park! Started off cross the bridge and then later the trails got a little more challenging as it started to be unpaved and uneven ground.. some trail runners around that we made way for. Went towards the falls and further towards Collingwood childrens farm. Very different scenery on the two legs!! Got a little lost, the area could benefit from more signage to guide us.. but wow what a walk! Lots to do, walk the trails or the narrow bush trails, see the falls, end the walk at the boathouse cafe for a delicious scone paired with great coffee!

Home to the largest Fruit Bat Colony in Australia, this is definitely the place to go if you want to see them. Surprisingly active throughout the day, there were heaps of bats not too far up the river.

My husband and I spent our Saturday in this park. We went there on foot. It's not too far from the city. And I love it! Its nature, views, and river are so beautiful. The roads are wide enough for both walkers and bicycle riders. Although the weather was chilly, I barely felt cold being busy with enjoying the fresh air. There is a picnic area with a small cafe where you can buy delicious pastries and different kind of burgers. Reasonable price and generous serve! Highly recommend to visit!

Such and amazing place. Perfect for a walk, a good running, cycling, picnic or just relaxing reading a good book. It is quite calm, really clean (please keep it that way!).

Amazing parklands along the winding river. Nice for jogs or long walks with the untouched feel, or to simply relax with nature while enjoying peace tranquil still nature. There are no manicured gardens there but you will experience beautiful natural landscapes - trees and grasslands with dirt walking tracks and some sealed shared tracks for pedestrians and bikes. Nice sunset views, depending on the slope or hillside.

Truly stunning immersion of the yarra river and urban landscape. Waterfalls, bush trails, swimming spots, bridges, just got it all.

Beautiful park in the inner suburbs. Easy proximity from lots of places. Lovely gorgeous walking trails. We ate at the main Boathouse, overpriced food but very nice. Very popular area, parking is precious, lots of families. Spent the afternoon basking in the sun, it was a great day.

Did the dight falls track and enjoyed it a lot. Love the sound of the birds singing and the different variety of trees and plants along the way. The place feels so serene and peaceful, a stark contrast from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. Best thing is it is only a few minutes away from the CBD yet you feel like you are in a different world. Cant wait to come back and explore the other tracks.

This place is a gem in the middle of the city! It is huge though. You can explore it in many visits. We can see so many activities happening, people running with their dogs, walking, rowing in the river (I think you can rent a boat), kids playing, and even weddings. There is a super cool cafe there (Fairfield Park Boathouse) with a delicious menu (try the scones!). Sun set is amazing over the brigde. Also, check the huge bats living there! At the sunset they fly all over the park. It's amazing! To sum up, it's a must go if you live in Melbourne!

Great place to visit for a COVID safe walk and picnic. Some nearby picnic areas and main parts of the park are closed currently but there is still plenty of carparks, areas to wander around and grass to sit on. Many off leash areas for dogs. Visit Dight's Falls while you're there.

Beautiful scenery walking along the banks of the Yarra River. We walked across Kane's Bridge and strolled around the bushland circuit. Had a coffee at the Studley Park Boathouse kiosk. Saw lorikeets, wattle birds and magpies. We were even fortunate enough to see and hear a Kookaburra.

Amazing walk, so many different tracks which can be quite confusing but you’re in for an adventure! Anticipate the walk through the flying fox forest, because you won’t be able to experience this elsewhere.

Yarra bend park is a great spot for everyone! Plenty of twisty roads for the two wheelers, great walking tracks for the ground pounders and fabulous views for those with less movement in mind! I come here regularly and so should you!

I honestly love this park, it's close enough to the city, yet it's rugged enough to encourage wildlife, and there's some great walks around the banks of the Yarra. There's an abundance of wildlife if you look for it. Eastern Bearded Dragons, snakes, fishing birds, black cockatoos (usually before rain), spiders etc. If you like your flowers there's plenty of those, too. It's come something for everyone. Places to relax, cycling, parks for the kids and walking tracks. The best tracks line the Yarra, but they aren't accessible for everyone, with steep, rocky faces in places. You cam cycle some of the tracks, but there are very steep faces and I've had to pull someone up before on an e-bike. I fell once myself and was lucky I never ended up in the Yarra. It's a fun park, though. There's currently renovations to too areas. It's getting more changes, and it will be more accessible from the Abbotsford side and Richmond side in the future. It's pretty accessible from the in most places, but check the website and stick to the paths. Sensitive wildlife and flowers are all over this park.

Best public access golf course around Melbourne town. The driving range is perfect for convincing yourself that you know how to play golf. The course is perfect for proving you wrong, but it's pretty 😉

A nice trail close to Studley park great for small hikes, walk and bird sighting. I read the water flows from the Yarra river which can be seen around the trail. There is a boat house beside the Studley park for one interested in boating on the river. Took about 2/3 hours to complete the whole trail. It was beautiful despite the naturally brown river.

Probably my favourite place to walk my dog on lead. Central, by the city, water and nature. The bats are amazing, so many in one spot. You can walk for hours and look at the millions of bats in the trees. Totally amazing place. The views are to the golf course the other side.

Yarra Bend Park is one of the gems of Melbourne. They call it the bush park in the city and it certainly is that. I have run all the trails in the park and one of the best Parkruns in Melbourne is in the park. The park is fabulously maintained by Parks Victoria and they do a great job. This is worth a visit.

  • 4/5 Leonie M. 4 years ago on Google
What a unique piece of Australian bush right in the city. I lived in the South Eastern suburbs for more than 20 years and never new this existed. Here we also found a unique bat colony of 1000’s that was an amazing scene hanging from the gum trees in a lovely and somewhat serene riverside picnic ground. Will now be on my tourist itinerary for international visitors.

Love this golf course, scenic, great fun. Although on a wet day not the best field to be playing on (prepare for muddddy shoes) Buggys are well kept too - would be good to upgrade these with eskies on the side like some other courses I've been to have.
