Such a nice, quiet yet big garden that has excellent facilities onsite. There’s a skateboard ramp, basketball courts, kids playground, public toilets, plenty of bins around and park benches. Free parking along St George Rd. Maybe lacking a bit of some flowers display, but I’m being nitpicky here. Excellent location also, close by to a library, tram stops and restaurant/cafes.

This park is the identity of the suburb with its Oval, nets, Tennis court, Basketball court, bike tracks, skate bowl, public barbecue & toilets, children’s ground, infinite spots to chill at and a dog park! Probably the best inner suburb picnic spot after the Tan!

beautiful park well maintained and always clean. i use the basketball court daily, it’s a nice place to play. one of the only places i can find with a chain net (goated). however they changed the backboard to this strange recycled grates that are supposed to minimise sound. real stupid

Large park with various facilities on site - public toilets (north side toilets seem cleaner than the south ones), playgrounds (south side bigger and fenced, both north and south have BBQs), table-tennis table, tennis courts, basketball half court, lawn bowls, skate park, ovals. About half of the east side is designated dog off-leash area, so I'd picnic on the west side instead. Alcohol consumption permitted between 9am and 9pm. There are a few bookable areas for events, cost looks pretty standard, generally <1k though it really depends on size of event and types of permits required, with discounts available for non profits. Free parking available.

Edi gardens is a place for all ages to come together to celebrate life! We love our gardens. It’s awesome to see so many people of all ages and especially the young generation enjoying the simple things in life! There’s people having picnics, celebrating special occasions, having a wine 🍷, relaxing to music, playing games, basketball, tennis, table tennis, skating, scrabble, cards, personal training, gym exercise, or people watching! Everyone is so friendly and our dog is always in heaven when he’s here. It’s great to see dog owners keeping the park clean and picking up after their dogs!! It’s a mini NYC Central Park! 🥰

Great for the dogs! Parking is free on the side of the street closest to the park, but check the signs, (it's permit only on the side with the houses). Its a nice quiet suburban area. People are pretty good about picking up after their dogs and there is water available at the water tank. Some lovely paths, a basketball court, soccer field and plenty of open area, as well as shaded spots, perfect for picnics.

Fabulous gardens in Melbourne’s inner north. On a sunny weekend this park will be packed with picnickers and on nice week days it’s a great place to catch up with friends. My husband and I actually got married here so we obviously love it. There’s a big offlead dog park, basketball courts, tennis courts, a skate park, and multiple playgrounds.

It's always a wonderful afternoon when you take your gathering in to Edinburgh Gardens. The gardens themselves have ample facilities, are maintained well and access to a range of transport routes. It's one of our local faves but a great place to meet up with friends and family who come in for a fun day of catching up too.

This is a wonderful park in North Fitzroy. It caters for everyone including picnickers, dog lovers, kids or just people who want to chill. It has good toilets and shaded area and huge grassed areas for dogs to run. The Pink Flame Trees are particularly beautiful and an absolute standout

Amazing park with many playgrounds and toilets and water stations. It is almost always packed with people picnicking and celebrating different occasions but somehow it does never feel overcrowded (it is so big so there is space for everyone ...). It is dog friendly and also very good for kids.

Even though the garden is lovely, however, the dogs are off leashes everywhere in the garden. They may chase your kids or grab your kid's ball. Not only does this thing happen there, but sometimes dogs come to your place where you sit and taste your food!!. I went there twice but the thing was the same.

This is a much loved park. There are tennis courts, off leash dog areas, a playground, a skatepark, a cricket oval and toilets here. The lawn bowls club is also situated here. Great place to have a picnic or chill out.

The best green space for locals to get a breath of fresh air. Closest thing to a festival, during these covid times...

Edinburgh gardens is a very, very busy and vibrant place. It's great for large group catchups and picnics, but has its limitations. You can't count on tables and it can be hard to watch on kids when the playground is packed. It's likely to be noisy such as from people bringing music. So don't plan for quiet family time here. You'll also need to expect the usual entitlement from dog owners who will let their animals freely get into your food.

After picking up a few croissants from Lune in Fitzroy, my quest for a serene spot to enjoy them led me to Edinburgh Gardens. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, this tranquil oasis offered the perfect backdrop for a peaceful meal.

Can get a bit unruly at times, as it's so big, large groups can tend to dominate. The grounds are old and not pristine. But for a park of this size in this area that's so accessible, there's usually space for everyone.

Very busy park, great playgrounds for the kids! Both playgrounds are fenced off which is great. Not well lit at night! Almost completely pitch black. It's quite a eerie feeling going through there at night.

Lovely big green space in the city! Full of dog watching, various things to do, and also public bathrooms (not the cleanest but what do you expect!). Especially loved it as I’m from Edinburgh in Scotland - had to pay this place a visit whilst in Fitzroy!

What’s not to love about this fantastic park, it has a footy ground, tennis courts, multiple playgrounds, skate park, and an amazing bowls club (Fitzroy). Pet friendly, and lots of locals always taking a stroll or sitting on the grass with friends.

Dogs, dogs as far as the eye can see. Edinburgh gardens is the best place to tire out your energetic cattle dogs. Energetic cattle dogs that you definitely should've thought more about buying before you did so because you live in a tiny apartment. Good stuff.

Amazing park. Great for kids and families and anyone that loves nature. Has a basketball court and tennis courts. Every weekend lots of people bring their dogs to run around on the field. Really great watching dogs all shapes and sizes running around together

Fantastic park, got a ripper kids playground and a skateboard bowl that I'm a little old to use now but when I was younger was a favourite. I've spent a lot of time at this bowl when I was skating and it hasn't changed in 25 years. Still a great bowl, why fix what's not broke. I still enjoy watching the current skaters do their stuff. Big park plenty of space and a gazebo if it's wet. Perfect picnic park.
