I got a set of Michael Reeder's work, but I was very disappointed at the way I was treated as an asian in the shop. The tall girl who served me didn't give me a friendly look and treated me in a rude way(from body language and tone). Won't recommend it to my friends unless the owner could do some trainings with staffs' manner.

WOW 🤩 I’d been devastated some years back when these guys left Sydney (whilst I was living up there), because of the specially curated range & truly wondrous collection of artworks & pieces by uniquely chosen, very talented artists ☺️👌🏼 I was THRILLED to rediscover Outré at the weekend, but especially for finding & getting to buy a rare book to complete the Russian Criminal Tattoos set which I now have 🙏🏻💯

Outre is always guaranteed to have a variety of artists being featured. It's a great little gallery with reasonably priced prints & limited editions. They also have an intriguing selection of books which make wonderful gifts & don't carry a crazy price. I also like they have a variety of ceramics; both practical & simply aesthetically appealing. I would suggest signing up to the newsletter - it's always full of new artist info & previews at the gallery. Enjoy!

One of my favourite places. Every time I'm in Melbourne I come here and end up buying something, the artists are insane and the price for each piece is also amazing because it comes with a frame that also looks really cool. Definitely check it out even if it's just to have a look!

So impressed with Outré & their lovely friendly staff. I ordered a fantastic print from their online store for my son just before Christmas and it arrived 2 days later & it was so unbelievably well packaged there was no chance of it ever being damaged in transit! lol I was so impressed that I decided to order another print (just a few days before Christmas) as a surprise for my daughter and that one arrived in 2 days as well! Both are such beautiful prints. I’m considering buying some for myself now. :)

I received a wonderful star wars print on Christmas morning and was so impressed by it I ordered the other accompanying 2 on boxing day. I received them both today, wrapped so well that I thought I was playing a one man pass the parcel.. later that day I had them up on the wall blasting me out of my "20somethings blu-tack posters" and into "sophisticated wall art". Worth every penny.

I've crossed this store so many times and finally went in this week and absolutely no regrets! They have such an amazing collection and all at such a reasonable price. Most of the pieces come framed, and you can even get custom frames made. Will definitely be picking up a few more pieces from here soon.

Awesome gallery and a treat for Ghibli fans. It’s great I don’t live in Melbourne or else I would be spending a ton of money at this gallery. Lots of clever and affordable pieces, I imagine there is something for everyone here. The staff are lovely too and are very helpful. Highly recommend Outre next time you are looking at adding some flair to your walls at home.

I’ve bought a number of prints from the gallery over the years with no issues. However I was left incredibly disappointed when I tried to purchase an original from a recent exhibition. I say tried because of the gallery’s elitist “preference process” for purchases. In reality, if you aren’t a friend or known to the gallery and on their “list” you won’t be purchasing.. at least not until all of those on the aforementioned list have been offered their selections.

Amazing artwork by amazing artists. If you’re looking for unique pieces aligned more with pop culture, this place is a must visit. The team there are very helpful and are lovely to chat with.

Many of its offerings are based on pop art elements however there are some more classic themes present as well. Prices are reasonable for framed prints; if this is your style you’re bound to find something to take home.

Unusual and quirky styles of art showcased, well worth a quick stop if nearby! All pieces appeared to be on sale, some of which were quite inexpensive. I bought a small felted piece as a gift, chatted briefly with a lovely staff member about it. Was a cheerful and worthwhile visit!

Love the artworks in this gallery. Especially the ones of houses, buildings and structures that have been simplified. The prints are amazing too and they have great art books especially for anime fans.

First visited the store in Fitzroy, gallery is solid with many different works from various artists. Staff were friendly and helpful, they directed us to the Elizabeth St store. Same again, heaps of work there, staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

I love Outre Gallery. You can tell they love their artists and their customers. I have purchased many items over the years and they have always been warm and kind. Last year I was going through some stuff and found a lot of comfort in their artworks and I am very appreciate of their great communication and careful packing of all items.

Can be a tad overpriced but its still and awesome spot, just make sure you know its most likely going to be a print... not an original or small sample

Superb art gallery with highly knowledgeable staff and excellent online store. I have now purchased 8 pieces of art from Outre Gallery and plan to buy more in the future. From quirky to bold and captivating there is a piece of art for a wide range of tastes. The online store is easy to navigate and offers cheap and fast shipping. The staff have never hesitated to help me when I wanted a print custom framed which allowed me to get the perfect end result. Can’t recommend this gallery enough! A++

Affordable, bright, and swanky artworks in the heart of Melbourne. Easily accessible by tram and a short walk from stations. The staff are super friendly.

I used to like this gallery 15-20 years ago. Now I think it's the same old stuff, but with an emphasis on cashing in on Star Wars, Ghibli, and other major franchises. Nothing very clever or original about that. Apparently now even art is all about the reboots and fan service.

Joey forgot about me and made me wait around 20 minutes when I was buying artwork valued at a few hundred dollars. He was answering the phone and prioritising other customers; he was standoffish and clearly does not value my time. I am quite disappointed in the customer service of this store.

They also went the extra mile to source a piece for me from overseas, whilst also automatically following through with emails about updates.
