I believe their coffee price is the highest in the town 😱. You will pay 5$ for just a cup of coffee. This is higher than average. The same cup from other stores would be cheaper and better in quality like Patricia for example. This is clear in the Google Maps photo. Just take a quick look. However, the coffee quality is medium. If you have time and want to get a real cup of coffee this would not be your first choice. I think this is the result of changing the staff.

Honestly the worst cup of coffee I had in Melbourne! You pay $5 which is a lot of money and what you get is something that tastes like instant coffee. I have no idea why this place is so popular and have such good ratings, because rating it One star is quite generous already. Avoid!

I was introduced to this place by a local and it sure doesn't disappoint! Manned by 3 lovely Japanese ladies when I was there, they were on the top of their game when it comes to service. Coffee wise, full bodied and and rich. Loved the aroma and they sell the coffee beans too.

It is a very popular coffee shop at Victoria Market. Since we moved into the city, we started walking to the Vic Market for groceries every Saturday morning. The place is dedicated to coffee. You don’t have much options for food there, but it's not an issue at all. Melbourne’s standards for coffee are very high. This place probably sets the benchmark. They have seasonal bean selection and dedicated station for hand pour. I highly recommend to any coffee lovers who are new to Melbourne to give it a go.

Had latte here on 17/11/2023. It is $6 and the size of the cup, in my opinion, is medium size cup (not large). The taste is bit bitter for my taste and has high acidity. Service was quick and efficient though.

Great coffee, wouldn’t want to have it any other way. Surely the lack of milk options may annoy many people but for me real white coffee is with full cream milk, full stop. So come with an expectation that you will not be able to choose your milk, or your cup size, or have your hot chocolate here, if those aren’t for you then just don’t visit. I don’t see you coming to a restaurant and complain about not having a particular dish that you like that isn’t on the menu, right?

Melbourne's famous coffee shop There are many branches in the city. This branch is located in the Queen Victoria Market. Dry food zones are on the corner. Not noticeable because there will be many customers waiting for queues every day. The taste of the coffee is delicious.

Daniyeru's Detailed Review: Customer Service 5/5 *As soon as I approached, my existence was acknowledged despite themselves being busy. This is hospitality at its finest casual level. Well done! Other establishments should learn. Coffee 5/5 *Although the only milk available was oat milk, which I paused for a second..i still decided to go ahead *To my surprise, the latte was absolute perfection and being an ex Barista myself, I can confirm this is either the best coffee if not 2nd best I've had in Melbourne. *Any tourist must try or you cannot say you've had true Melbourne coffee! * Value 5/5 *The amount you pay for, the quality of seefcir, the perfect coffee, the hospitality you'd be a fool to go anywhere else! Atmosphere 5/5 *Casual, market buzzing vibes. Very very nice place to come Overall *I would recommend this to anybody for coffee here whether it be tourist of Melbourne locals. Do not miss this!

Probably my favorite coffee in Melbourne. Consistently good. Small busy cafe at the Victoria Market. Not a hangout cafe but get your good coffee here and go and enjoy what the market has to offer.

It's difficult to rate this place because everything is good. May be 5 stars is the best answer. Tha coffee taste is amazing, the head barista was very kind and friendly. If you visit the store, you can get coffee in takeaway cups or cercamic cups to drink it inside the store. They have some specialty coffee bags from Colombia, Brazil , Rwanda, Bolivia, and others countrys.

Market Lane coffee in the Queen Victoria Market is also opened on Mondays and then it is amazingly quiet and pleasant. Good variety of brewed coffees, actually 4 different roasts to choose from. I decided for a washed Kenyan coffee as a V60 brew. Nice acidity and fruitiness as you would expect from a Kenyan coffee. Apricot and also peach with a hint of sweetness. A nice balanced and well roasted bean. I am sure their espresso is nice as well. So a clear recommendation for coffee lovers👍🏻

It took me a while to get to Market Lane, but finally Mirko took me to their café at Victoria Market in Melbourne. We had a clear goal in mind: filter coffee from Kenya – of course. But we went for the Full Monty instead: While the super friendly and smiling barista brewed our Kenyan filter coffee, she served us a little teaser filter brew from Guatemala to get us ready for the big brew: Santa Isabel, washed Caturra from Luis Valdés – TASTY. The Kenyan coffee came from Embu, SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11 & Batian varieties, and of course fully washed. The cup was sweet and clean, juicy with a bright citric acidity and delicious berry, citrus and yellow stone fruit notes - LINGERING. While enjoying my French croissant, we got served our espresso shot from Colombia. La Esperanza: washed Caturra and Variedad de Colombia with notes of melon and black tea and a sweet honey finish. I remember this coffee very well from Boston – MOUTHWATERING. And then… we also tasty some sweet cascara, freshly brewed for us! What else can you ask for? Specialty coffee at its BEST! Thank you – especially for the amazing hospitality.

This place gets really busy, and service is quite quick. Very popular for their coffees but it wasn’t for me, the coffee beans they use make the coffee has a sour taste to it. I give it a 6.1/10. They have cold brews availabke and also beans to purchase aswell.

Located on the outside of Victoria Markets, Market Lane Coffee exudes an air of sophistication and dedication to the craft. With its sleek design and inviting aroma, it's clear that this establishment takes its coffee seriously. The coffee selection at Market Lane is extensive, featuring a variety of single-origin beans and expertly brewed espresso drinks. Each cup is crafted with care and precision, showcasing the nuanced flavors and complexities of the beans. While the quality of the coffee is undeniable, I must admit that I left Market Lane feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Despite the attention to detail and the skilled baristas, there was something lacking in terms of atmosphere and overall experience. Perhaps it was the lack of warmth or the somewhat clinical feel of the space, but I couldn't shake the feeling that Market Lane fell short of its potential to truly impress. While the coffee was certainly enjoyable, it didn't leave a lasting impression that would compel me to return. That being said, Market Lane is still a solid choice for coffee enthusiasts looking for a reliable spot to enjoy a decent brew. If you find yourself in the area and in need of a caffeine fix, it's worth a visit. Just don't expect to be blown away.

Saturday morning queue time around 10 minutes. Serve pure good coffee only. For food, grab at the market… there seems to be a crazily long lineup at a doughnut van. I think it will pair good with the coffee.

Coffee was great, albeit on the expensive side. The big winner at this place is the fact that if you don’t have a KeepCup, you can actually borrow one with a refundable deposit scheme. Amazing!

Market Lane Coffee is considered a renowned specialty coffee shop, mainly thanks to Melburnians. They are known for sourcing high-quality coffee beans from around the world and roasting them in-house. They handle every step of the process, resulting in exceptional coffee that you should definitely try. Besides coffee beans, they also sell various coffee-making equipment and even offer coffee-making classes. As for the coffee I ordered, I went for an Long Black, The coffee itself was excellent, with a delightful aroma and taste. I absolutely loved the coffee and the charming ambiance of the café. While it might be a bit pricier than your local spot, it's worth it. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you're exploring the market area. If not, you can always look for their other branches, as they offer a similar experience.

Lovely service and rustic interior. Ordered an iced latte on a hot sunny day. Relatively pricier than other roastery cafes. Forgot to ask for sugar which may have affected our experience. Iced latte (3/5): very creamy and smooth, however had a weird saltiness and lacked its natural sweetness. I believe the coffee beans may have been under-extracted, leaving a sour acidity that hit quickly and dies down. First time experiencing it but heard their hot coffee options are better. Taste: 3 Value: 2.5 Ambience: 4 Service: 4

I should say one of the most decent coffee shop in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Their coffee is of high quality, with their cute little shop that hopefully still exist. I remembered drinking their coffee at 3PM and can't sleep that night hahahaha. If you are looking for a quality coffee in Melbourne, this is definitely one of the places you should visit!

Reliability of great coffee. A variety of beans to cater to everyone. Must try in Melbourne and a must buy for anyone brewing at home. They always have different coffee and beans on offer along with a few regulars keeping this news for the taste buds! Just unfortunate all the beans are not on offer through the barista as it's a bit of a roulette buying a bag of beans to take home without having been able to try it in-store first. Its difficult to get a second bag of whatever you liked before the next cycle of varieties come through so don't get too attached!

Came here for their weekend mushroom burger! Actually, the 4 rating was solely for it haha. The bun was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The portobello mushroom was perfectly seasoned and moist! It was a bit pricey for a snack, but gee it’s worth it! Their coffee was okay tho. I had a hot latte, which like many coffee in Melbourne, served in tiny glass lol. But it taste good! And the waiter was really friendly :).
