This place used to be a Melbourne instruction but their glory days are long behind now. Portion sizes are tiny, price is exorbitant, wait times are long and staff are less friendly because they've got so much to do. Coffee is still good, though they no longer stand out when every coffee place in Melboure achieves the high local standard already.

Another nice place for coffee. Our first time here and we definitely enjoyed our coffee. Had ice mocha and latte and it was quite better compared to other cafes in cbd. The atmosphere was quite nice and it was quite busy with people dinning in. Service was friendly. Would love to try their food sometime. Definitely coming back for more.

The coffee shop was very nice - it offered a nice range of coffee and pastries. The staff was nice and efficient. The chocolate cake was really nice - highly recommended. There was also a variety of souvenirs, like mugs and instant drip coffee bags, to choose from.

My favorite barista who used to work in Sydney just started working here. So I also tried this cafe for sure, and I love their coffee and every food! The portion of the burgers was very satisfying and coffee! always perfect. So grateful for this experience !

Great coffee. Also had an amazing breakfast, waffle, eggs Benedict with the best hash brown. Fair price for the wonderful quality.

I had lunch here last week. My friend suggested this coffee shop for me. It’s close to Queen Victoria Market. It’s convenient to go there for traveler like me. It’s a big coffee shop with nice decorations. It’s full of customers at the time I was there. I can smell nice coffee smell from the moment I entered the coffee shop. The food was nice. Coffee was good. The only thing I don’t like is music is too loud. It’s hard to talk. I prefer talking with my friends over the food. It would be perfect if they adjust the volume of music.

Seven seeds is well known for its coffee, and on a recent trip to Melbourne I decided to try it for myself . The cafe was situated about a ten minute walk from my hotel and quite easy to find . It has an industrial warehouse feel and was quite busy when I chose to visit . There are separate lines for eating in and take away , which is practical in a place like this . There is plenty of space , and long tables if you have a large group . There was chill jazz music playing , but it did tend to echo and was a little loud for me , but the overall atmosphere was chilled and laid back . They had a few gluten free options , and I chose the wasabi avocado - and it nice and light , but packed with plenty of protein as it sat prettily on the plate . The wasabi was quite subtle , and added to the overall flavour. They didn’t have almond milk , so I had soy milk instead , and it was a good all round brew and milk was silk smooth . I did feel though that I hadn’t tried enough , so had a batch brew on the way out - the barista was very knowledgeable and out the coffee in a extra cup for insulation. They did have quite a selection of pastries , and quite a few gluten free that I missed when I came in ( the take way line was long ) and grabbed a few to eat later at the hotel - I don’t know where these were sourced from but they were good ! The table service was ok , not overly friendly - but the barista made up for it was his obvious enthusiasm and knowledge of the brew . If I went back , I’d either go earlier or later because of the noise - but it was worth the time .

Pluses: coffee was creamy (mine was oat) and did the job, atmosphere was funky and "industrial", staff was courteous but busy! Minuses: food - below average fare that cost way too much. Had the waffle eggs benny and the panini, will not be writing home about either; chai latte was terribly watered down and lacked flavour. Overall: go for coffee.

A hole-in-the-wall cafe. You would have no idea looking from the outside just how big this cafe is. It is big and spacious inside, it just keeps going. The service was quick and friendly. We only got drinks here. My coffee was excellent, my husband's hot chocolate was made using string cocoa powder. He said it was OK. There are plants decorating the place, has exposed brick walls and polished concrete floors. Excellent atmosphere. Plus the toilet here is good.

A relatively unassuming industrial-chic brunch spot in Carlton. The staff were among the most friendly and personable I've seen in a good while. One was wearing socks with Crocs - take that as you will. I had a couple of cappuccinos and a Waffle Eggs Benedict. The meal was nice - the bacon was soft and had plenty of flavour. Only one waffle so not a large meal. The coffee was slightly colder than I would have preferred but otherwise inoffensive. The venue was large and the tables were well spaced. I was able to get some work done and the food was delivered quickly. Overall it was a positive experience.

I went to this place for a late brunch, and we ordered coffee along with Katsu Sando and Sardines on toast. My experience with the Katsu Sando was rather disappointing. It resembled an ordinary sandwich that you might find at fuel station-lacking in character and with a one dimensional flavour on plate. My wife opted for the Sardines on Toast, but unfortunately, the dish arrived cold and dry. To improve it, we added poached eggs. Overall, I would describe the experience was alright. While ther were some letdowns with the dishes, presentation etc.

I had an outstanding pour over here in this beautiful location. A blend from Gesha and Yellow Pacamara from Honduras and it was definitively brewed on point. Very well done. Also the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my stay very much and will probably come back for some beans (and maybe another pour over) before I have to leave Melbourne.

🥕 Autumn Hash 🍳 The Benedict Sevens Seeds is an industrial-chic cafe and mini-roaster located in the quiet backstreets of Carlton, renowned for having some of the best coffee in town. They are regularly busy, yet it has a very relaxed vibe and staff are always friendly. Just reading through their all-day seasonal Winter menu I felt warm, it is smaller than most but far from basic. The Benedict was perfectly executed, one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne I would say. The Autumn Hash also packed in enough flavour and pleasant, textural elements. I would definitely say this is a must-visit, and a reliable brunch destination.

Great staff service, friendly and approachable. Their latte I'd say is one of the better ones in the city. The Turkish eggs I ordered were filling and satisfying to eat. I recommend this place for a good brunch or brekky session!

With an unassuming entrance this place can be easily missed. But once inside you are treated to some of the best coffee this city has to offer. Amazing coffee, excellent service, great food, fun ambiance, professional staff! One of the best cafes in Melbourne for sure!

the hotspot for Melbourne University student who like to sit and chill during breaks. Huge cafe, comfortable seating and the highlight is coffee. There is a wide variety of coffees to choose from. They import coffee from all over the world. Let me tell you that coffee lovers shouldn't miss it. Really delicious coffee

Believe it or not I visited Seven Seeds shortly after arriving in Melbourne. Boy oh boy, did they set the bar high for the other cafes I was due to visit later. Their latte was executed perfectly and I swear I don't think I've had any coffee as good as theirs! Their eggs waffles was something I was new to and their hollandaise certainly put an interesting twist to things. Would definitely recommend Seven Seeds to people who haven't tried it yet!

Ambiance has nice colors - brown and a tinge of green here and there, aesthetic homely vibes - a less modern take. Coffee was fruity and bright - house blend of Ethiopian and Guatemala I believe. Service staff were really friendly! Food was quite decent, had the waffle benny with added hash, and a spiced lamb.

I’ve always really liked this place. Located very close to Melbourne uni, so great for students and the prices are pretty good given location and portion sizes. The cafe is deceptively big, so even when busy you’re likely to find a table. Staff are nice and food is delicious. Highly recommend for all.

There's no denying that the coffee at Seven Seeds is very good. I do question whether $5.30 is too pricey for a soy latte. I'll let the patrons decide, but personally it is pushing the cost a bit too high for me. Brunch options are good, and I do like the ambience of the place. A great spot for the Carlton area.

I went there because I saw the high google ratings and reviews. It is no doubt this is a popular brunch place in the city, where you have to wait average 10 mins for a table if you come as couple or a group of more than 2. Like a lot cafes in the city, the place is turned from a warehouse with a mix of modern and rusty style interior. It also has its own merchants. But I have to say the food was average in terms of flavor and variety. A lot cafes in suburbs are much better for the food quality. Maybe I’ve had too many brunch places and have come picky. But honestly I was a bit disappointed, given google review is so good.

A unique place for a cafe. From outside we only found a name. But inside was very lively. Our brunch was so satisfying. Satisfying our appetite and eyes... the sauce was so smooth and delicious. The cappuccino was so smooth...I think they used the medium roasted bean and full cream milk. Will be back here next time we visit Melbourne.

Hi! Seven seeds coffee admin, If you pass through this review please answer me one question? ☺️☺️☺️I just wanna know. First of all your tonkutsu sandwiches are so so delicious!!!! I was actually hesitate a little before order it because I read a lot of review and they said it was simple. But for me it is really good!!!! you guys use shokupan bread…oh I love it!!!! The sauce was on point!! And the coffee omg! My Latte was well balanced!! The taste is so round and give you a mouthful experience! And I LOVE I LOVE that I finally found another brilliant coffee shop who do it right for putting a little bit of honey for my Latte!!! (Beside Axil and Little bang) this is another place that you can trust with their coffee!! So I can’t resist and order one more cup of coffee…but this time they don’t put honey in for me, and when I ask the staff, she was pretty cold to me and said ‘we don’t put it in here’ , i was confused cuz I just have perfect honey latte 5 mins ago at here this place… ahhh i feel a little sad, so please tell me how you guys actually do honey latte ? Anyway the long brown hair lady staff is really friendly

We gave this a shot after initially realising that the cafe we were going to was closed for the day and we could have not been luckier because this place is awesome! I love this industrial style venue that has been divided in segments to reduce the volume and give a feeling of seclusion for each space. Food and coffee 10/10.

7 Seeds is close to the hospitals, unis and student accommodation, not far from the markets and the tram stop. It’s located in a big barn of a place, so tables are very well spaced, and there‘s some limited outdoor seating in a relatively quiet street. Coffee is good, and amongst the café staples, there’s a good range of cakes and salads.

Seven seeds are one of the most popular well-known cafe in Melbourne. Many other popular places were just instagramable artificial food and the latte art with milky coffee which ruins the espresso taste. I've been skipping this cafe, prejudiced for the same reason but my guessing was wrong😆 This is the genuine quality cafe from the heart💕 Latte glass comes in a 3/4 size glass so the balance of milk is perfect ratio with coffee. Reasons I've stopped drinking latte was due to many baristas focusing on the latte art and pouring milk too much. With their latte glasses, I can order many times without requesting 3/4 latte to my liking. It is 50% Columbia 50% Brazil brend coffee😃 Full strength beautiful aroma. Quality of meals satisfied for 3 of us and came following Saturday again. Customer service was excellent and all staff were friendly and attentive. It was nice to see the staff was remembered us from the last week's visit👋 We really enjoyed coffee and meals. 5+☆

The coffee shop is inside and old factory building and have amazing decoration and layout. The coffee was perfect, creamy and amazing Crema. Food was very interesting and tasty, really recommend eggs Benny, but is heavier than it looks so don't ask for any extra side thinking that is would not be enough :) ( like I did)

I really enjoyed the French Toast, it was just right in terms of sweetness and the fruits were relatively fresh. The batch brew felt a little bit watery and did not display the full potential of the beans. The turkish eggs were yums though and the service was spot on! Overall, highly recommend the French Toast! The staff were really attentive to our needs and constantly checking up to see whether we were enjoying our time. Thanks for the excellent service and accomodating us, appreciate it! 👍

I had a relaxing walk from Brunswick to Melbourne CBD. I was on a very special mission. Today I wanted to learn more about the IMPACT REPORT FY 20-21 from SEVEN SEEDS COFFEE ROASTERS. We often say #MAKECOFFEEBETTER: making coffee better, doesn’t only mean make tastier coffee, but making the coffee business more sustainable along the entire value chain in terms of PLANET x PEOPLE x PROFIT. A few days ago, I already enjoyed a tasty single origin espresso roasted by Seven Seeds at Brother Baba Budan. The coffee was produced by Mustefa Abalulesa in Ethiopia at 2,150 masl. Growing coffee at such a height and under very thin air conditions is already a great achievement. In the cup, the coffee tasted very clean and sweet. A beautiful product. Therefore, I had high expectations when I arrived at their Roastery & HQ. The building itself was already very beautiful, simple, with exposed bricks, full of green plants, and filled with minimalistic but natural furniture. On a table I grabbed a copy of their Impact Report and went to order a flat white and a Toast ‘n Sardine. The coffee was a blend of 50% Ethiopia (Awel Teha) and 50% Guatemala (Los Ancestros). The well textured milk gave this flat white a beautiful sweetness, and I especially enjoyed the harmony between the milk and the coffee. My breakfast choice was an interesting mix of oily (sardines), savory (parmesan cheese), spicy (pickled paprika) and sour (lemon). I tried everything one by one, mixed two ingredients as a pair and finally enjoyed everything together. Why not? I have been working now in sensory for more than 20 years. But every new combination surprises me, and I cannot get enough about exploring food. As always, I ordered a filter coffee as a desert: because specialty coffee must be clean, and sweet. Today’s coffee was especially sweet – for two reasons. First, the coffee itself was perfectly cultivated and processed at origin, and well roasted and brewed here in Australia. Therefore, the coffee tasted clean and sweet in terms of flavor. I then looked up the farm - Los Aguacatones. The Morales family first entered the Cup of Excellence Competition in 2017, where it placed as a national winner. 2017 was exactly the year, when I attended the COE Guatemala as an international sensory judge. Again, specialty coffee is such a small world. The Impact Report showed that the Morales Family received $7/LB (farmgate) for their coffee. That is sweet too: PLANET x PEOPLE x PROFIT. I have enjoyed my visit at Seven Seeds a lot and I believe transparency is an important part of the specialty coffee business model. Thank you, a lot, for the outstanding hospitality, the team was very nice, and answered all my “funny” questions.

One of the best cappuccino in melbourne. They did however forgot about our order though understandable as they were swamped by the lunch crowd. The staff did made up by providing us the coffees on the house. Slightly on the pricier side, food was above average though nothing to raved about. Coffee is definitely worth it! Pleasantly surprised by how good the Cappuccino was! Sept 2022

Roast chicken roll and beef burger, flat White. Chicken was well roast. Very tender, but less season. Bacon was well cook, crispy but not dry. overall it was really good. Flat white, the foam and temperature were perfect. Well mixture. Balance, you can taste the sweet of milk, and the flavor of coffee.

The dark blue exterior hides an elegant design of sharp edges, wood, brick, and metal. It’s coffee is top notch. The Eggs Benedict on a waffle was perfectly prepared, with the eggs carefully prepared (yolk runny) and hollandaise sauce well matched to the dish as a whole. I will be back (Arnold style).

Insta: melbfoodie_mark YT: MelbFoodieMark ** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne! - Undoubtedly one of the best brunch cafes in Melbourne! I really liked their spacious warehouse-style interiors with friendly staff on site. I am not really a huge fan of brunch but we ended up having their famous "Eggs and Waffle Benedict" ($18) and "Crab Scramble" ($24). . Eggs and Waffle Benedict = Basically a waffle stuffed with smoked ham hock and cheddar cheese with 2 poached eggs on top - finished off with chipotle hollandaise sauce. It tasted ok but the moisture from smoked ham and cheese inside made the waffle a bit too soggy. And I definitely think that they could've thrown in an extra egg considering the size of the waffle. But of course, beautiful presentation! . Crab Scramble = Chili salsa, coriander & mint salad, crispy garlic & shallots, szechuan pepper caramel on toast. In terms of taste, I'd rather choose this one over benedict. A decent portion with mild spicy kicks. I really enjoyed this experimental fusion style dish - layers of different taste profiles from contrasting ingredients coming together beautifully as a whole :) . Overall, not bad but kinda expected more considering its popularity. Probably won't visit anytime soon but definitely a pleasant experience everytime I go.

The location of the coffee is a bit far from the city centre, but it's easy to find and it's one of the most famous cafes in Melbourne. The coffee was fine, the milk was well frothed, it was a good cup of coffee, and it went well with his reputation. The hamburger is also delicious, the bread is crisp, and the sauce is also very good, which is worth recommending. The service and environment are very good, if I go to Melbourne next time, I will go again.

Tldr: The potato hash is recommended. The most crisp outer with a perfect mash inside. A nice woodern interior cafe with a large amount of seating. Soy chai latte - smoothe texture with concentrated chai. The warm winter greens consisted mostly of the stems of the greens making parts of the dish bitter. The roasted sweet potato was perfect adding the sweetness. Minimal popcorn tofu but the crisp and flavour was exceptional. THe eggs were perfectly cooked with layers

Ordered the famous egg benedict, it was great but I am not sure if it’s worth the price. Same goes for other dish. The bread was too hard to slice and chew, it hurt my mouth. I went in the morning about 9am, it was very quiet and my friends are I were the only ones talking. I would visit alone again to grab a coffee, but won’t come for food with a group of friends.

We came here to try the coffee one day and ended up coming back again for breakfast and coffees as the service and cleanliness is fantastic. We’ll be back for sure.
