🍞☕️🫶 more than just coffee 🏠: @madeleinedeproust_melb 📍: @marketlane 📝: Coffee and pastries are the perfect combination, and Market Lane Coffee never disappoints! With several locations scattered throughout Melbourne's inner suburbs, this cozy spot has become my go-to for a delightful caffeine fix and delectable treats. ❤️: But let me tell you about their Tuesday mornings - a special affair where they bring in the most heavenly madeleines. I had the pleasure of indulging in their Yuzu and Chocolate madeleines, and oh my, they were pure bliss! The yuzu variant offered a refreshing twist with its light and zesty flavors, while the chocolate one took me on a journey of intense Valrhona chocolate goodness. ☕️✨🥐

Coffee was good, and the staff were courteous. Three stars for not keeping either chocolate or skimmed milk. Coffee is relatively expensive.

Beautifully designed coffee shop on the Paris end of Collins Street (near Parliament station). There are outdoor seating to people watch and comfy booth tables inside. Great coffee and lovely staff.

I bought coffee beans for souvenir. I like the design of the packages. The cafe was located in the business district. So many business men/women ordered a cup of coffee in the weekday morning.

Absolutely loved the vibe of this speciality coffee cafe. The coffee was fantastic, a rich and golden blend. A delicious crusty croissant and friendly service delivered all with a smile. Bought a little take home pack of beans too. Images are copyright.

Market Lane are fantastic, they make the best filter coffee in Melbourne. The staff are always keen to give advice on brewing technique and equipment if they aren't too busy.

This is consistently my favourite coffee shop in Melbourne. Every single coffee is made with absolute care and attention to detail, and I have never been disappointed. When I am back home in NSW, I order their beans for delivery. The customer service from their mail order team is second to none, and I love the hand written cards that appear in each delivery. Highly recommended.

Lovely coffee shop in Melbourne CBD. The staff are really friendly and the cup of tea and Croissant I had were delicious. The staff give you a complimentary glass of sparking water. There are tables inside or outside the cafe to enjoy your drinks and food. I will definitely be back next time I visit the city.

✩ A staple cafe in the Paris-end of Collins Street. ✩ Really glad that it now offers oat milk for all of us non-dairy drinkers! ✩ Staff are very friendly and accomodating. ✩ If you're lucky enough to pop in during a quiet period, there's some indoor seating for you to sit and enjoy your coffee, pastry and "The Big Issue" magazine (which you can purchase from a friendly, nearby vendor).

Great coffee, quick and polite service Only one size of coffee and limited alternative milk selection. Offers a selection of unique pour over filter coffee if you are willing to wait for it to brew. Can recommend for a cute date or a morning coffee.

I paid $6 (which is much more expensive than other cafes) for a Magic coffee and received: - a coffee (in a paper cup) with no lid - a 10 minute wait - no latte art Not to mention the coffee didn’t taste that good. I most likely will not be returning.

Came across this hidden gem of a cafe on Collins street in the Melbourne CBD, whilst walking off the cheeseburger and chips for lunch. Decor is very art deco giving an old time vibe. Great service and coffee.

Usually busy between 8 and 9 am on weekday mornings, market Lane Coffee has been making seriously amazing coffee for years. Market Lane caters for serious coffee lovers as it sells only coffee and tea made from coffee leaves. You can also buy lots of coffee accessories, but I just like to go there for a robust tasty espresso. The service is excellent, and the one occasion, I had a disruptive customer. The shop assistant helped him leave and gave me a free coffee. By the way, this disruptive customer who sat next to me decided to get on his phone and started swearing constantly to someone on the phone really by the way, this disruptive customer who sat next to me, decided to get on his phone and started swearing constantly to someone on the phone really loudly. It isn’t the best place to drive to make it; instead, it is a stopover before heading into the office. There’s a tram stop on Collins Street just outside the store, which is the last up before the tram turns onto Spring Street... I had a great coffee experience over there. The aroma of Market Lane’s coffee is inviting. For those who appreciate the art of coffee, Market Lane is a destination that consistently delivers excellence in each cup, making it a top choice for both seasoned connoisseurs and those looking to explore the world of specialty coffee. They also offer a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere that encourages to savor coffee and engage in meaningful conversations. It is high recommended. Oat Latte 5/5

The coffee beans are really nice but minor figures oat milk does not suit the espresso flavor. Makes it really acidic! With another oat milk brand would be 5 stars

Sat in this morning at the Collins St branch and aside from the amazing coffee the service was superb - after overhearing us talking about how you could really taste the fruity notes in our longboard blacks, the woman came over and gave us a free sample of another coffee - so thoughtful!

Wonderful and helpful staff and a nice environment for a solo coffee or a catch up with someone. Market Lane make some of the best coffee in Melbourne and it's worthwhile buying some beans if you're into making your own drinks at home. Only downside is that the coffee here can be pretty pricey in comparison to the competition. But, you do get what you pay for!

Wonderful coffee in a calm and pretty setting. The decor is great, contemporary and considered. The front can be busy, but the back manages to stay soothing throughout. There are booths and a little bar. Coffee is serious and tasty. They've got room for pourovers and a few different beans to choose from. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and location.

Amazingly sweet and smooth coffee with cherry and chocolate notes. This store got me into espresso and I haven't looked back. Bit pricey at $6 but I think the quality is there if you dine in and appreciate coffee.

Coffee was pretty good, but nothing but cows milk available. Expensive too, even for city prices. The staff were friendly, but there are better, cheaper coffees within walking distance.

  • 1/5 Rita N. 6 months ago on Google
$6 for a small regular take away coffee, when questioned the price (and I will pay for quality) the reply was 'we are a specialist' coffee shop. Let me tell you, there are many specialist coffee shops with better coffee and they don't blatantly rip off their customers. oh, lucky me, I was offered a .20cent discount for a keep cup order. I voted with my feet and got a great coffee for $5 around the corner.
