What would you say if I tell you that you'll pay $18.50 for a cup of coffee and 2 poached eggs with 2 small gluten free toasts that will take slightly over 15 minutes to serve? And that the food would be bland. That too when you have told them that you're pressed for time. Most likely you'd say no. And that's what I'm saying too. I visited Mr. Foxx when a friend insisted that it was one of the best ones on that side of the town. I drove nearly 20 minutes to go there. Totally unimpressed! I will not discount the politeness and friendliness of the staff though. The cafe is also at a strategic location.

Very disappointing experience. Our group was put upstairs which was dirty and being used as a storage area. Coffee was barely luke warm. Most meals were left unfinished. Mr Foxx used to be awesome but I’d give it a wide berth now.

My sister and I came here on a Saturday for brunch. I very much enjoyed the atmosphere and overall vibe of the cafe. The staff were friendly and efficient. We both decided pretty quickly what we wanted to order and were quickly served by a lady. I ordered the pan-fried salmon and my sister ordered the mushrooms on toast. Although my salmon, potato salad, and sweet potato crisps were delicious, I devoured the food within ten minutes; it was definitely not enough! Maybe it was a small serving, or maybe I was just a very hungry girl! Anyway, my sister said that her mushrooms on toast were slightly cold, but she didn't bother to ask them to heat it up because we aren't really fussy eaters. Overall, I really enjoyed coming to this cafe and I think the food was tasty, customer service was friendly and quick, and the food was also delivered quite quickly. Hence I have given 4/5 stars! Thank you very much :) Update: I came here for a second time with 3 others on a Tuesday at midday for some lunch. We ordered a selection of food and drinks, including the baked gnocchi, Eggs Benedict, salmon and iced chocolate. Once again, the customer service was excellent and food was tasty. Thank you Mr Foxx!

Dishonest and lazy. Never again. Came here with some friends and my wife who is 6 months pregnant. I made allergy notes on my order, which were not followed (it's fine, it happens I guess). The problem is I asked them to remake the chicken sandwich without mayo, but it returned 2 minutes later with mayo on the chicken and some of the lettuce leaves. Given the time, it's clear they just wiped the chicken and reassembled the sandwich. When I took it back I asked if they had simply wiped the sandwich which they refused to answer. They then told me in future if I have an allergy request, to note it on my order. When we found my docket and saw that it did in fact have an allergy request, they then said they're human and make mistakes. I get that. But it doesn't explain their dishonesty with the second attempt. The manager offered a free sandwich which I declined because I did not trust the kitchen. The rest of the food at the table was fine, but needless to say I won't be coming back, and if honesty and attention to order notes is important to you, then look elsewhere.

Odd place. Staff were mute. Didn't say anything about the food or coffees when arrived and placed them down in front of the wrong people and walked away. Food was questionable, pretty hard to mess up poached eggs, one was like a golf ball served on top whilst the other egg may as well have been cracked on top. Potato Rosti was RAW. Spinach good. Coffee is not up to Melbourne standards, along with the service. Chilli Scrambled eggs were just scrambled eggs, no chilli in the postcode of the plate. Steak was overcooked and dripping in oil but the chimichurri herbs were not evident. Save yourself some money and walk up the road, especially with the cost of living crisis.

I agree with the other reviews. Just horrible. There used to be two lovely guys that worked here. The new owner is disgusting and is basically down right rude. Not interested in customers at all. Why are you working in hospitality? Shop is filthy and to top it of he got my order wrong as he couldn't be bothered writing things down. This place needs a massive upgrade. I think the fox pictures are elementary and daggy. Sorry guys I won't be back till this mob leaves and the slate is wiped clean.

I remember when Mr Foxx had real human service, excellent coffee and a humming vibe you’d gladly return to time and again. This is where and why we took our family for Sunday brunch to Mr Foxx last week. But the place has changed hands, and it’s no longer what it was. Service is hands-off. Orders are strictly via App at the table. Waitress appeared robotic and disinterested. Forget asking Baristas anything. They’re making coffee on auto pilot and seem to have left their personalities at home. And there was no apology for over an hour’s wait for simple burgers and chips. Coffee. Don’t go there. I’m unsure why these new owners have invested in a cafe/hospitality business when they appear so disinterested in the human side of service. Won’t go back.

Mr Foxx had typical modern Australian brunch meals on their menu. We ordered a variety of food; pulled pork Benedict, hotcakes, baked eggs, corn fritters, bircher muesli, spiced lamb on pita bread. They were all okay - fresh and delicious and came in generous portions. Coffee was decent. Service was ok. It was a pretty spacious venue also so it was perfect for our group lunch.

I saw this bohemian corner cafe while passing and decided to stop for a quick coffee. Ended up have a small chat with the staff there - who were absolutely warm, welcoming and lovely! - Coffee was top notch - There were other patrons scattered around tables who all seemed to be enjoying themselves and the food (which is why I am giving the food 5 stars based on observations) - Looking forward to trying some of the dishes next time I am in Glen Iris. - Hamish John Appleby / APPLEBY PHOTOGRAPHY

This is one heck of a cafe. Great coffee. Which serves up a double ristretto as standard. So you'll know your coffee will pack a punch. Food is also excellent. The venue? Excellent. Will I come back? Most definitely. If you're new here, try the mushroom fricassee and the chicken leg with tea egg.super awesome stuff

We only ate a small portion of both our meals. Both had an oil which tasted very odd (borderline rancid). My chicken salad had no spice in description but was too spicy to eat more than a few mouthfuls. When we left almost full plates and told the staff why. They barely reacted and didn't offer any alternative or discount. Will definitely not be back

Waffle 🧇 or hotcake, you can have both here hahaha I think it’s a good place to have a brunch with friends during the weekend. Staffs here are okay 👍

Have been here twice in recent weeks and have had the same experience. The staff seem lovely but the service is terrible, feels like they have never worked in a restaurant before. The amount of basic errors are too numerous to mention. Food quality is bad, if I wanted to be generous I would say 2/5. A real shame as this place could be great but feels more like an episode of kitchen nightmares because of how disorganised and unclean it is, and because of the food. Making this comment to hopefully help the new owners improve. This place used to be great but sadly one in three reviews are one star over the last ten months.

I was looking for a coffee and an almond croissant in Malvern area and drove past Mr Foxx. The coffee is nice. I had a warm almond croissant which was crisp and fresh. This cafe also has a lovely ambience. Will visit here again for breakfast with family.

I used to eat here regularly, which always had a friendly atmosphere and incredible food. After a few years' hiatus, I thought I'd grab a bite but I was left pretty disappointed... the food was pretty bland and expensive for what you're getting...

With excellent and spacious ambience and mouth watering food this is a cafe for the generation. Run by a very humble Gujrati family right in the heart of GlenIris this is rare find. The COFFEE is out of this world and Australia try. They have searing outside as well. Over all a must visit cafe on the area. I like theor tastiest cake siliceous the best.

My ‘Go To’ place for breakfast in Melbourne if I’m in the south-eastern suburbs, and it did not disappoint. Good variety of food and drinks, great coffee, pots of real leaf tea, fresh orange juice, water arrived as we sat down. The menu is not extensive but it has the right amount of variety and caters for vegans, lactose intolerant diners and ordinary people who like their food. I have always enjoyed every meal I’ve had there and just loved my smashed avocado, feta and pomegranate on multi-grain toast. Back to Melbourne = back to Mr Foxx. Comparable to Archie’s all-day in Fitzroy (and that’s saying something).

Had a breakfast at Mr Foxx. The bacon and eggs were done well and the multigrain toast was delicious. The English breakfast tea was good, but the coffee was lukewarm and average quality… Other than that, Mr Foxx is a good place to have breakfast and would go back again.

A nice cafe with brunch classics. Have visited the establishment a handful of times. A nice and spacious venue with rustic interior. Great atmosphere and suitable for catch-ups with friends or morning visit with children. Good service although on a couple of times the staff seemed unpleasant.

Nice place for an afternoon meal with friends. The coffee is nice too. They have an undercover outdoor area that’s pet friendly and even has heating for cold winter days. The service was good and fast. They are also on entertainment book 25% off. Will come back again.

If not dulled by the lockdown already here we got a $10 kids waffle. One small Frozen waffle from the fridge just make hot by toasting :(

Cute and situated in a corner position this cafe serves its local clientele but well but has the potential to be so much more. Spacing, furniture and fittings all seem jumbled while the decor wasn’t sure what it wanted to be. The young staff were lovely, helpful and had good charisma. Food was quite standard on the offerings, delivered timely and was decent. A $12 glass of wine however was a serving of half a glass and quite disappointing.

Food ok, indian cooks, variety of food, mostly common to most cafes. Selection of cakes, usual ones. Outside shelter, protected by heavy Durer plastic. Service fair. Usually have coffee and a cake, coffee ok.

I ordered the wagu beef burger and fries. The Pattie was cooked beautifully, it was to Salty. I drank so much water for the rest of the day to rid the salty taste in my mouth. I only had two bites of the burger and, I had a few fries because they were also salty. The coffee was ok.

Great cafe, long Mach is reliably good. Quick friendly service. I’m fanatical about the Chilli scrambled eggs. Very accommodating of children.

Had the Eggs Benedict with beef brisket and it was amazing! Big portion size, and I pretty much didn't have to eat again all day! My only mistake was not taking a photo.

Good spot. The coffee is real nice the food is good with good portions. It's a little bit on the pricey side however the quality of the food is up there. The only issue I had (albeit not a big one) is that the water isn't chilled it was sort of room temp as it had been sitting out but all in all an enjoyable experience

Had a good experience here in July 2021. In the brief 1 weekend freedom to dine in at restaurants, we went for brunch here and found staff accommodating, good food, decent brunch food and really strong aromatic coffee. Would love to come back again.

Payd 60$ for two shakes a burger with fries and a toastie, service wasn't great, understandable as it was a take out order. However my issue was in the food, an ungodly amount of pepper on the toastie for some reason the shakes were nice but the 1st place of mistakes was not temping the patty and serving at borderline raw brown on the outside, red on the inside, more cold then hot to the touch and every bite wasn't warm. A microwave did better then your grills I'd temp check then.
