Nice and spacious. Cakes were too sweet for my liking. Coffee tasted quite watery. They have many wait staffs and service were great & efficient despite the crowd.

I felt like lost in cakes and sweets when I came here. It’s so many types of cakes. So colourful and look so yummy. Tea was nice too.

Melbourne institution We always visit Brunetti when we come to Melbourne and we feel that this is the best outlet! We love the old style service, marble counters and displays!

I really like this place. The selection of cakes is incredible and worth the visit. I only tried the cakes and coffee but both were very good. Good place to have a chat with someone over coffee.

Can’t go wrong with a Brunetti cake and coffee. The prices may be a bit high and some desserts a bit sweet but if you visit expecting such, it’s pretty solid. I was excited to try the cassata Siciliana, which is $12. It’s a bit sickly and the marzipan a tad too thick for my taste, but it looks adorable and the ricotta and chocolate filling is nice. The pistachio eclair, on the other hand, is 10/10 with a creamy pistachio filling and pinch of salt that nicely balanced the pastry. The fig and pistachio tart, which was around $6 from memory, is also great with a thick fruit filling and well executed short pastry.

The pastries and cakes are worth driving across town for. Something we do often. They have something for everyone here, if you are just picking up it's easier to get someone to circle the block while the other ducks in to pick up.

Good range of cakes to choose from as well as other hot foods. Prices are not cheap but nice for a treat. Friendly enough staff. Well worth to try out.

A "must visit" if you're in Little Italy - Lygon St Carlton. The endless display of sweets, desserts, cakes is aesthetically pleasing, and just try to decline. We had coffees then went back later in the day for more coffee and cakes. Yummy!

Took my kids to Brunetti's Carlton today for a bit of a fancy experience.. honestly I couldn't have asked for better service. Prices are fair!! I've been to pretty mid places with my kids and ended up paying double what I paid today. I think I spoke with 4 or maybe 5 different staff members today and all of them were welcoming, kind and patient! Anyone wanting to take the kids to Brunetti's for an occasion or just for the sake of going out; do not hesitate. You won't feel like a fish out of water.. those with kids tend to opt out of coming to crowded "fancy" places... this place if for you guys! Sweets were perfection. Food was nice and fresh 👌🏽

Cakes and coffee excellent. Only front end of store for take away cakes wasn't too busy. Parking in area can be tricky to find, cost us $30. The meal ordering end of store was very busy, it was school holidays, we had to line up in 2 different areas. Limited table service. Access to toilets for a mildly disabled group was a nightmare. One way was blocked by equipment, the other, we had to ask people to get up and move to allow us through. Moved a high chair out of the way, then we found the disabled toilet LOCKED WITH A SIGN SAYING TO GO BACK TO REGISTER AND ASK FOR A KEY... RIDICULOUS! I took my disabled client through to ladies toilet and helped her use non ambulant toilet. She couldn't get her walker in there. Then on way back we had to ask people to move (stand up and move aside) to let us through again. Then I did another trip with man on crutches. Luckily one of the staff outside was helpful.

After lunch around the corner 5 of us popped in for a little sweet treat. OK unless you a regular I don't know how you can pick quickly what you will order!! So many sweet treats, cannoli (Nutella, vanilla, chocolate, ricotta), cheesecake (New York baked, cookies and cream etc), macaroons (multiple colours), mini profiterole towers, biscuits, nougat, gelati etc etc etc. Also I was surprised to see such a choice of savoury dishes. Very very busy place but managed to get a table towards the back. Extensive seating outside also. I had 2 mini cannolis (1 Nutella, 1 vanilla), husband had mini New York baked cheesecake while others also had cannolis. And if I could have fitted gelati in, I would have!!! Coffee excellent but would have been shocked if it wasn't. Highly recommend. And the cake display at the entrance will have you wondering what reason you can come up with so that you can justify buying one and taking it home!

Don’t go by the fake reviews about their cakes … All their cakes are kept frozen and they will not tell you until you have purchased them . You are paying thinking they are fresh cakes considering the price but they are not … It’s a complete rip off because after you leave the cake in the fridge for thawing, the cake becomes watery ,the layers , the sponge ,whole cake looses its taste… Will never make the mistake of buying from them . You guys also save your time and money … Coles mud cake is far better and cheaper than their fake cakes

True Italian fare with it being as close as you can get to visiting Sicily (or the like) in Australia. The pizza was full of flavour, arancini hit the spot and the desserts are ridiculously good.

Outstanding Italian food! Various outlets with Pizza, Pasta, Antipasti and a huge choice of cakes. Atmosphere can be a bit noisy/hectic, but the food quality is outstanding!

Simply love this cafe, it's busy, noisy, crowded but it does it with style and confidence! The coffee's have always been great no matter how you take it and the selection of cakes is simply amazing. It's so hard to make a choice unless you have a favourite! Our Rum Baba were great with perfect syrup and flavour. Our Connoli were OK, great flavour but the rolled pastry was a bit limp and not crispy.

One of my favorite cafes in Melbourne! I had a special cake shaped like a tennis ball for Australian Open and cappuccino. They have wide ranges of beautiful and delicious cakes, foods and drinks. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.

Bought two cakes (for ~17 people), one opera and one tiramisu, for a co-worker’s birthday. The cakes were so good! The two cakes disappeared within half an hour. It was on the day when Optus network went down so I was really panicking so I called very early to make sure payment by card would not be affected. The staffs were very patient and friendly. They assured me of the availability of the cakes I wanted so I could go pickup before lunch and the network for their business was functioning. The weather was ridiculously hot that day, so they gave me an estimate of how long the cake would be intact during my travel which I appreciated considering all the things that could gone wrong on that day. I also tried their vegan gelato on multiple occasions, it is absolutely palatable, the mango flavor is a must try!!!

Tried their ice cream for the first time. I choose one scoop of pictachio flavour and it was amazing. I can taste the pistachio and it's not overly sweet. For one scoop, their portion is so big. For A$ 6.81 (I paid using card, so the price might be slightly different than the actual price) definetely worth it. If one scoop is too big for you, they have a smaller size that you can choose.

The food is excellent. I ordered the individual cakes and an iced mocha and everything is reasonably priced considering the quality. The vibe is immaculate. There are Christmas decorations and the interior is quite spacious. Service was quick and friendly. I’m very satisfied with the experience and will visit again for more.

Heaven for sweet-tooth ☺️. I have never seen a single shop that presents you with huge range of cake, tart, bakery, eclair or any sweet thing you could think of...as many as in this place. Presentation is perfect, service is good, I re-visit within n 3 days to buy more of what I like. Really recommend 😊.

Great place and awesome service from Summer! You’d be spoilt for choices but make sure to look for Summer for the BEST recommendations! Follow the recommendations from Summer and got the lemon tart, Fleur, rubarb and passion fruit tart and they were amazing! They were light and not too sweet. Great to satisfy a sweet tooth after a heavy meal.

Went here on a Sunday and it was madness. Literally hundreds of people in-store. Took about an hour from arriving to leaving. Had the New York Style Cheesecake and a long black. Delicious!

If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy desserts, this place is a must visit. Offering a range of cakes, pastries, cookies and gelato, you can opt to eat here with drinks such as alcohol or coffee, or you can opt for take away. We visited this place on a Saturday night, and the place was packed to the brim with all seats taken and the staff had their hands full. Despite that, they had a good queue system going (you need to take a number before you can order) and we managed to order without any issues, just a little waiting. I had their special affogato here, mixed with Baileys, which was out of this world. The best affogato, I would say. We also tried some cookies and pastries, which was delicious and sweet. Loved the experience here, our only complaint is that there's no retail section where you can take away gifts.

My regular go to place for desserts. They have a great selection of cakes ($41 for 6 portions)at reasonable price compared to other dessert shops. They also offer mini size version of almost all their delicacies for $2.90-$6.90 depending upon what you choose. This is great if you just want a bite.

You must try to the Pistachio Ice Cream! It is the best!! I never get bored with Brunetti ice cream. However, it is getting pricey and staffs need a better training (smile please!). In the end.. I just love to be there. Thank you!

We came for a late night hot chocolate on a Sunday evening and the place was packed to bursting. We just ordered drinks but the staff seemed to be run off their feet with the volume of customers. Our drinks took 20 mins. The hot chocolate was fine, but not really special. Given the popularity, I would have expected something a bit more luxe. They have a private room to the rear of the shop which can be hired for events, which is cool.

When on Lygon Street, this is the kind of place you think of stopping in for a bite to eat. Atmosphere is wonderful, very cafe life! A bit busy but moves quickly and staff are friendly and patient. You will be spoilt for choice! Coffee was good, mini tarts and cakes just right … as in right size for a small afternoon tea and flavoursome. Must be doing something right with the number of patrons there. Definitely heading back for more…so much more to try! Suggest you check-out this place as well.

never disappointed. service is efficient and friendly, even when on super busy saturday nights! the cakes were divine. we got the fleur and the primavera and both were phenomenal. would highly recommend. the chai was lovely and smooth, and we also got the mango granita which tasted like it had been made from fresh mango! love brunetti :)

Cakes and pastries were good with a huge range. The whole cakes in the fridge were all frozen though. The Italian hot chocolate is rich and amazing. The place gets pretty busy though and hard to get a seat. Staff looked busy but very friendly and seemed happy to explain and answer any questions.

It's my favourite cafe since the 90s... been to this cafe when it was only 1 shop... it's amazing to see how much it has expanded over the 30 years.... amazing cakes, pastries and sweets..... one of the best cafes in Australia...

Had some post movie coffee and cake at the famous Brunetti Classico! It’s lovely, spacious, with plenty of helpful staff. My darker roast double shot flat white coffee was great and the range of sweet treats were consistently tasty. Are they the best cakes in melbourne, probably not, but they are still pretty dang good. Is the whole overall experience iconic and worth doing? Absolutely. They also have a top range of gelato, a full menu too which is wonderful and has filled me up on previous occasions. Familiar and comforting without being pretentious.
