Wish there were more stars I could give them rather than just '5 stars', and this place is THAT NICE. Highly recommendable. If needed to find any demerit, this could be too popular, therefore, many people, crowded. This wouldn't be helpful at this specific circumstance, Covid-19. But it was just SO good. I will be there whenever I can to try all different type of cakes, ice creams, pizzas and pasta!

We had coffee and pastries at this cafe. The coffee was very good and pastries delicious. It was pretty crowded even though it was a weekday afternoon. Besides coffee, there is also food like pizza, gelato and there is also a bar. There is an amazing variety of pastries and cake here.

As an Italian, I consider this place a sanctuary of truly Italian delicacies and indulgences. They offer a wide range of Italian pastries, sandwiches, and pizzas. It's a fantastic place to stop by for coffee, dessert, or an aperitivo. I highly recommend it, as it's truly an institution in Melbourne.

Love Brunetti for coffee and cake! Staff were excellent, doing well in this current climate of Covid and staff shortages. Sat outside in the enclosed area, good place to chill and watch the World go by. The cake was absolutely delicious! Raspberry, with chocolate mousse inside-highly recommend. Coffee and hot chocolate went down a treat!

This place is amazing! They should rename this place ‘dessert heaven’. So much variety - just check out the photos that I’ve attached. The pictures do all the talking. Enjoy eating with your eyes, definitely worth a visit if you’re around the area or just wanting a quick food stop. Situated in the heart of Melbourne. Very close to Flinders Street station.

Went to Brunetti at 830pm for dinner and dessert. Very accommodating to my vegan friends dietary requirements. Staff happy to help and food delicious. We had the vegetarian pizza, the veggies were chunky and pizza was delicious. Highly recommend.

The place was quite busy and bigger than expected. It was a bit challenging to enjoy the desserts due to the high level of activity. IMHO. All the cakes looked enticing, and if you can't find a table, for oversea/interstate visitors, there's another branch at the domestic departure airport. Go there earlier and enjoy before you fly off. 🙂

A treat to visit every time. The store is so well presented and welcoming and the different sections cater for every yearning. I normally have coffee here or an early evening aperitif but had breakfast this morning. Always excellent with top quality food and beverages

Brunetti Oro has a great selection of cakes and desserts! Their coffee is really top-notch! They also have a dining menu. The customer service is pretty good. It can be quite crowded on the weekends but it's worth a visit. I definitely recommend it!

Still trying to wrap my head around the seemingly endless display of cakes and pastries. Service was very quick and coffee was fantastic. My sister and I loved it so much we had to go back for coffee again the next day. The little pastries are just as delicious as they look. We came across another branch in Carlton which had a gelato bar as well. The little pastries were so good we brought them back to Sydney to share with family. (They held up really well throughout the flight too!) Definitely going to visit again next time I'm in Melbourne.

I loved the background wall picture that covers the entire wall behind the coffee machines. Even though it looks like child drawing, it took me to Florence. I liked this place better than the one on Lygon street. Cakes that we tasted seemed newly made. I highly recommend it. Coffees were not bad.

The deserts and coffee are simply amazing. However, utterly disturbing is just the process of picking up your coffee. You want to enjoy the deliciouss pastery, but are continuously iterrupted by the personel shouting out the order numbers so the customers standing around the counter can pick theirs. I felt sorry seeing the poor lady behind the counter nearly out of breath. We all get the receipt with the order number so why there aren't simply screens displaying it and e.g color dedicated spots on the counter showing where to pick the order from, is beyond me. I did not enjoy eating inside just because of this.

What a melting pot of coffee and everything deliciously decadent! My date and I enjoyed eating with our eyes with a lovely coffee and then made off like thieves with treats for afternoon tea. Such a real treasure in the CBD. Great to see it thriving (as it should be). I suggest to grab a coffee and some treats and have a wander through the laneways like we did. Plenty of places to stop and watch the world go by while enjoying these decadent delights. Will make it a regular to bike into the city for.

Wow! If only this establishment was in Brisbane. Cake, coffee and food was divine. Presentation was spectacular. Baristas were extremely busy which is understood considering it’s the Easter weekend. Thank you for the consistent coffee and wonderful experience. Looking forward to our next holiday in Melbourne.

Brunetti Flinders Lane became our new favourite place to eat when visiting Melbourne 💗 Such a unique place with so many food options and lots of different seating areas. We came for a pizza and lunch then came back again the next morning for breakfast - everything was so good. There are delicious pastries, cakes, hot meals and everything you could desire. You won’t go hungry as there is lots of choice. We thought it might be super busy given the popularity of the place but we were pleasantly surprised how nice the restaurant feels and how friendly and fast the service was. Easy to find near Flinders Street in Flinders Lane, highly recommend a visit 🤎

Buzzing atmosphere!! Over the years I've seen Brunetti getting busier and busier. It's always a packed now! Great when your alone, squeeze into a seat and absorb the vibe. Not as fun when you have a group and 'fight' for a table. However great pizza and pasta for a good price in the CBD (when pasta restaurants in the CBD tends to be at the high end). The pizza is delicious napalese style base....thin in the middle with a soft fluffy crust (yum). Toppings are always tasty. Our favourites are Margerhita and Calabrese. Pastas and lasagna a very flavoursome. And you have to love a restaurant where the carbonara is made the proper way with egg yolk (not short cut way with cream). We do find the pasta can be over seasoned on occassion Desserts look great. And the small sizes is a good way to try a variety of sweets. Over the decades, while I still enjoy them, either the quality has changed or my tastes have changed. They are not as 'wow' as a remember (when I used to visit the Carlton store when visiting from Sydney). I wonder if the expansion of the business means the volume, storage and transport has had an affect? Coffee is Ok. While a prefer deeper and richer flavoured coffee, there are plenty of smiling coffee drinkers here

Absolutely gorgeous cafe! So glad they open this one in the city! The variety of cakes is amazing, but there’s only so much you can eat 🍰 I tried the chocolate and coffee éclairs, and loved the coffee. Would be good if they had chocolate filling instead of custard in the chocolate eclair. Service is quick and friendly, and I will be back to try their gelati! Amaze to see they have black sesame flavour too :)

What an amazing place. The service was outstanding. Fir such a busy place the wait was minimal. Such a great arrangement of food. The cakes are amazing. The presentation is excellent and the take away boxes are so classy.

I just love this place! One of the most appealing aspects is that on a cold winter night, it's one of the very few places where you can find just what you need - coffee and dessert! I've tried everything here: their desserts, their cakes, and their coffee. Always bustling in the evening, but the vibe is great. It's a huge place with numerous options to choose from. Highly recommend!

Good food and amazing desserts, literally is the wolrd of the cakes and other sweet wonders. I liked that the desserts are just the perfect point of sweet, not colying. The latte was extraordinary, good body and flavour I truly recommend it. The only thing I didn't like is that you bring your own coffee to the table and with so many people and being served up to the top of the glass it becomes a risk.

The place is always hectic (for good reasons). Amazing food and drinks. Arguably have the best selection of cakes in Melbourne, their mud cake is a must try!!

  • 4/5 Blessing M. 3 months ago on Google • 82 reviews New
This café boasts an impressive selection of pastries and sweets, each more tempting than the last. Their display is a feast for the eyes and a treat for the taste buds. However, our experience was slightly marred by the service; the person attending to us seemed either uninformed about the pastries or reluctant to offer recommendations, which was a bit disappointing. As for the coffee, it was decent but didn't quite live up to the high standards one expects in Melbourne, especially in a place with such exquisite pastries. That said, the pastries themselves are undoubtedly the main attraction here. If you have a sweet tooth, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Just be prepared to make your own pastry choices!

Brunetti Oro on Flinders Lane is a standout Italian eatery in Melbourne, consistently delivering quality meals, excellent service, and authentic Italian ingredients. Their dessert selection and gelatos are particularly noteworthy, alongside their wood-fired pizzas that embody the true flavors of Italy. The café offers a vibrant European vibe that's welcoming yet bustling, creating a perfect backdrop for enjoying Italian classics. With prices that strike a balance between affordability and quality, and a bar featuring Aperol spritzes and other Italian cocktails, Brunetti Oro is an ideal spot for a genuine Italian dining experience.

A cafe that is more than a cafe. Divided into a few section. Pastry, sandwiches, main course, coffee and wines. Ordered lasagne, pasta, burger, cakes and coffee. Love the tiramisu, and highly recommended to everyone who wanna visit.

This place is absolutely beautiful! After visiting 3 times, there was still nothing to fault. The food is high quality and fresh. The atmosphere also kept us coming back for more… such a gorgeous set up that makes for great catch ups. If visiting the Melbourne CBD, this place is definitely one not to miss!

This is a “what you see/expect is what you get” venue. Brunetti is a name associated with a top quality Italian cafe and dining experience and this venue delivered in our visit. Great coffee and truly delicious pizzas, we had the capricciosa and margherita which were truly of an outstanding standard (up there with the very best I’ve had in Melbourne which surprised me), wood-fired with super fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked. Our side order of fries was also as you’d expect, crunchy and nicely seasoned and our coffee orders were executed flawlessly which I feel is fair to say is an expectation when visiting this venue. The cost is definitely on the medium-to-higher side when you add the 10% weekend tax, but let’s be fair, you don’t come to Brunetti expecting a bargain. You come for the great location, well thought out and well designed space and superb Italian coffee, sweets and dining. The place was very full on a Saturday, it is definitely a venue which will attract tourists, so depending on your group size, visiting at a busy time may mean you struggle to find a table instantly, but wait 10-15 minutes and you should be fine. Brunetti Oro delivers on your expectation, if you seek a high quality Italian cafe or dining experience, it is highly recommended!

Potentially the best coffee in Melbourne (a huge call, I know). The breakfast is divine. Pastries are glorious even to look at, let alone taste. I love it all. The Campari and Aperol decorations are chefs kiss 😙 not to mention all of the cheese wheels!!

Bustling dessert joint that opens till late night. Plenty to choose from: cakes, ice cream, cannolis and danish for the seeet toothed. For those who are more peckish, there are also pizzas and pastas. Very busy place, but you can get a seat quickly as the turnaround is fast.

One of my favourite place to have coffee and cakes here. They all AMAZING. We do kids or adult birthday cake at lot from Brunetti too. Kids always go for ice-cream or sorbet as well as cakes of course. Meal also yum! Must admit that service is not the best, best. Very commercial.

I love brunette actually. It’s my favourite place to go with my friend/ family. It’s hard to find a coffee open in Melbourne after 3 but brunette do. Here you can find everything food, coffee, dessert, wine ect. Highly recommended

Such a spacious space with a nice ambience and pretty busy at times. We went there on a Friday night and it was packed. It was a good experience to try some of their desserts but there was just a lot to choose from. I ended up getting Tiramisu and took home 2 apple strudel which my partner likes. Will surely come back and try some ice cream next time.

Our favourite cake shop in Melbourne - so much to choose that one visit won't be enough and you will probably want to take a cake (or two) home. We tried lots of cakes and we enjoyed the chocolate melt, con amore, nutella croissant among others. Don't miss the iced chocolate milk (with ice cream) and the coffee is also very good. A classic.

This is one of my favourite cafe in Melbourne. Just an hour ago my partner and I were enjoying our lunch then had found a hair stuck in the middle of my Lasagne sheet which I took back and they made me a new one. It was delicious, I still love it except for the hair Lol

What a fantastic place to go for a desert, can't say enough about the place. The photos don't do the deserts justice. Its our last night in Melbourne, this place has finished of our holiday nicely 👌

Well it's one second time to Melbourne on a Family trip. We couldn't wait to take my husband there to have breakfast and a sweet. We had the Eggs Benedict and he had the Pesto parma ham Eggs. I must admit it was great, a little different from our first visit back in February but still good. I must admit her wasn't impressed with the sweets. The croisant was bland, the lobster tails cream was "mah" and then there was the puff pastry with strawberrys and cream. Still lovely. All in all still lovely, with room to be better and excel.

  • 4/5 Shayan S. 4 months ago on Google
Very good coffee, excellent seating spaces outside and also inside. The place is very busy so we had to wait a little while for coffees to come out. The price for the coffees is on the more expensive side, but would highly recommend if you haven’t been here before. Probably too expensive to have as a regular coffee spot.

  • 5/5 A M. 2 years ago on Google
Such a wide selection of desserts.. Truly a mecca of sweet treats! Their coffee is pretty good too. We came here with friends post dinner and the place didn’t disappoint. The only problem is that you’ll find it very difficult to choose from such a wide variety and that’s a good problem to have!

  • 5/5 Mel 2 years ago on Google
Another favourite of mine! Although the Carlton location is my go to whenever I’m down from Sydney but my gosh Brunetti as a whole does not disappoint! Beautiful atmosphere, huge food selection, as busy as it may be it still remains quite a relaxing environment! Wish there was one here in Sydney! Highly recommend on every aspect. Cakes and sweets are so good I always bring some home for my family to enjoy!

  • 5/5 David M. 2 years ago on Google
Adorned with the original tables from the Carlton store, the Flinders Lane store is buzzing! As always, a huge selection of delicious cakes, pastries and biscuits in a classy, vibrant venue. Try to score a table at the front for a perfect vantage point for people watching over a glass of wine

  • 5/5 Serena H. 2 years ago on Google
Loved that they had mini size of many cakes for tasting and for people that are more health conscious like me. Loved the latte art they did on my hot chocolate. Loved the location and vibe.

Kind and fast service, tasty food and just the right price... Super family friendly space, right music volume... The perfect place for a brunch in a hectic week

Brunetti is such a lovely Melbourne institution and tradition! I try to come here every time I visit! This Flinders Lane branch is beautiful and seems to run quite smoothly considering how busy it is. Friendly efficient service and delicious treats! They've done a great job at maintaining quality over the years, rather than becoming a drab chain store!

  • 5/5 Lorelei C. 2 years ago on Google
This is literally a dessert palace! This needs many many visits to cover trying all the amazing looking cakes. It is actually hard to choose from as they all look fabulous. We tried the eclairs and the strawberry tart and also took home some biscotti... I think I left just before having a sugar overload. The place is buzzing and quite busy but it is part of what it is. It actually takes me back to Italy and how the sweet places are run over there. Ahh not to mention there is also savory - the pizzas are yummy too. Just delicious!

  • 5/5 Elle r. 2 years ago on Google
This place is an actual Melbourne legend-for a damn good reason- enough said. If you haven’t tried Brunetti or you are new to Melbourne, I’m begging you to go. I dream about this place every time I want coffee or cake.. which is all the time.

  • 5/5 Cassie J. 2 years ago on Google
Had many amazing choices. The cakes were delicious and plenty of tables, perfect place to have a quick coffee and nice dessert

  • 5/5 JoJo L. 2 years ago on Google
Yummy as always. And you will find everything to feed you. I mean there's all kind of pastry, even birthday size cake, variety of beverages from non to alcoholic ones. Also got their own pizzeria and a kitchen for lunch time. So definitely recommended to go and bring someone to show this nice and cosy Brunetti shop🤗🤗😋😋🥲

Great classic Italian cafe on Flinders Lane. They serve cakes, coffee, juices, pizza and a range of other things. A bit pricey, but in my opinion worth it for the quality provided. Staff also very friendly and helpful!

  • 4/5 Samuel C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice place but you can only order food from some counters and drinks from others. Also not the most family friendly. There were no high chairs available and no kids options on the menu. Coffee and food were great though.

We found this place for lunch and it took us by surprise and we absolutely loved it. From the outside you don’t know what to expect and then you walk in and it has a wow factor. The service was excellent, the food was great and the coffee was good !! We simply had sandwiches and pizza and felt very satisfied.

The food and drinks here are delicious. We go after dinner for dessert and drinks. The place is huge but it can be hard to get a seat during peak times. Worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Paolo B. 2 years ago on Google
An old favourite of mine and always great coffee and an amazing selection of cakes. Really like how they do the almost bite size cake servings too for when you just want a small treat. Something for everyone here. Will keep going back whenever I’m in Melbourne

Brunette never fails to impress . We had pizza and desert. It might not be the best pizza I have ever had , but it’s right there. Deserts , where do you start. If you had to taste them all it would take months . You need to try it for yourself.

  • 5/5 Aptin B. 2 years ago on Google
Such a great place to have coffee, dessert or a quick bite Staffs are friendly and willing to help The place is clean and well maintained My only critic would be the size of their coffee which is smaller than other places.

  • 5/5 ammad a. 2 years ago on Google
I really like the atmosphere, good coffee, and nice interior. We ordered iced mocha which was great. This place is amazing! They offered the best coffee and showed the best attitude to its costumers. Will go again.

Discovered this place by chance and when I walked in and saw all these beautiful cakes I thought to myself “I’m in heaven 😁”. I was on short 2 days visit to Melbourne and did have my share of those delicious deserts. I have tried few different slices and eclairs and everything was yum. Can’t wait to my next visit.

They do takeouts during lockdown and the customer service is quite pleasant. Only weird thing is that I asked to use the restroom after paying and they said they had no toilets but also were unable to direct me to any toilets nearby. Ended up in another restaurant who let me use their restroom without even needing me to pay for anything (of course I did grab something as thanks). Beautiful place though, very glamorous. Cake was very tasty as well. Very wide selection of sweets.

  • 5/5 Olivia S. 10 months ago on Google
Really delicious desserts - a huge selection of them too if I may add. We ordered the profiteroles, apple strudel, opera slice and a small strawberry tart. All of them were really nice with coffee. The atmosphere inside was great and spacious. Will definitely be coming back again. A new favourite cafe in Melbourne added to my list!

  • 3/5 Carla K. 9 months ago on Google
Wide variety of cute desserts!! But the place was quite packed and I had to "wrestle" with others to get my order in. However the desserts were nice though they were quite overpriced. The place is very elegant and has a good atmosphere. 😁

Have dined at brunettis countless times for dinner and also dessert and I am forever astounded by how reasonably fast the service is considering how completely packed they always are. On this occasion though I was disappointed by the flavourless prawn pizza with the largely raw zucchini. The margherita pizza was as delicious as always but my dining companion was so displeased with her meal we defected elsewhere for ice cream
