We had a guest list and everyone was there by 10:30. We waited in line for 1.5 hours for them to only let single girls in or boys that looked like girls. We were at the front of the line and they kept drawing people out of the line. After the wait, being 12am they said sorry you aren't on the guestlist even though we had confirmation emails we made the guest list reservation. This club is so not worth the wait or worth dealing with the most power tripping security guards. People had been waiting for nearly 2 hours only to be rejected. If your not gonna let us in tell us earlier so we can find a better place and not ruin a birthday because your security guards are making people wait to make it look so exclusive.... TRASH PLACE!!

Decent atmosphere but the decor and furnishing was really old. That’s not the problem actually. I’ve only been here like 3-4 times and the bouncers threw me out twice for sitting on a bench to rest. They lied to me that I can speak to a manager but they actually don’t care and just wanted to have me leave. I will never ever come back

This venue was average, nothing too extravagant. I had a couple of issues, particularly regarding security and the drink situation. I anticipated using a $100 gift card for drinks, but the bartender informed me it couldn't be used for alcoholic beverages, which seemed a bit impractical. Additionally, my friend's bottles were confiscated, with the assurance they would be stored safely, yet they were missing by the end of the night, likely discarded by the security guard, which was unexpected. Retrieving my bag became a hassle, as the main security guard seemed unhelpful and dismissive, pushing me aside. Thankfully, the other staff members eventually assisted me. Overall, the place is okay, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

Security is worse!!! I have been to many night clubs but this security behavior makes the club bad. The way people are treated is a provocation to cause trouble. -Shouting with people -chasing out like a dogs while finishing the event. -no manners at all Security is supposed to keep things from getting into trouble but this is a different story.. making trouble even for friends who don't drink alcohol. My team spent about $4k-5k And staff threw unfinished bottles. But unfortunately we see how the scam works there. Throwing out unfinished bottles and making us buy again.

Very Disappointed. We booked the VIP booth package. When we arrived they demanded we pay cash?!? Who carry’s 550 in cash? Then when we asked where our included fruit platter was they told us that we didn’t book a week in advance so wouldn’t be getting it lol. Seriously?!? It’s a fruit platter not a birthday cake. When we asked for some free drinks instead they said no. Bad service, and bad attitude too, as we were in a private booth the service staff were supposed to fill our drinks, the place wasn’t busy at all, but the service staff were just chatting, hanging out, ignoring us. When we tried to fill our own glasses we were told we weren’t allowed to touch their bottles!! Lol seriously. This was supposed to be fun. This place is the opposite of fun. Don’t bother.

This place is a whole scam, we are in a pandemic and they don’t accept people who had already paid for tickets in advance. We have capacity limits and they should let people who book go in first, instead they are letting anyone in who had not booked first too! They had two lines; One for vip and one for general, they were only letting the vip line in that had people who werent even vip! The staff were also horrible and deceiving, which also isn’t ethically right, we had booked in advance and they made us stay in line for three hours, telling us that we still have a chance! They should never let people wait for that long and especially putting them in pain! The best thing they should've of done is let them know before you w were standing at the front of the line for an extra hour ! I wouldn’t recommend this place at all….

Bought a booth which we spent over $1000 on and were still treated terribly by the bouncers. This club is the worst I’ve ever been to. As the other reviews confirm, they are incredibly strict to the point where you can’t have a good time. We weren’t even allowed to pour our own bottles that we paid for and were watched the entire time. Dress code is ridiculously strict for a sub-par club. Don’t bother coming here.

Went to the bar to get 2 drinks it was a $40 minimum charge, I cancelled the drinks, they said I couldn't leave until I paid, I said they should of said before I orderded that it was a mimimum. I was having a great night yesterday Sunday 25th Aug @ 2310hrs till I arrived at this place called “Lux”! I walked across from McDonald’s about 150m and bought a frozen coke. As I arrived to line up I was with a group of 3 ladies whom I had met just walking across the street. There was a tall bald looking guy who thought he was at a rodeo instead of a club who thought he was a cowboy and proceeded to tell our group that he was not going to allow the girls in as he assumed they had vodka in their frozen cokes , which mind you they threw away with almost full cups in the been as well as myself. I asked as to why he would assume they had any alcohol in their drinks and mind you we lined up like anyone else in a orderly manner. This so called security (cowboy) then said that I was allowed in as he didn’t like my attitude! Since when do security exclude people on any basis just because they hate their job and think they can behave in any which way without consequences! I’m 35yrs old and never have I been treated like this! Mind you I had dinner earlier and was not drinking as I was driving! I would like to formally place a complaint against this so called bouncer and request he attends counseling and training on how to treat people because he doesn’t give a damn, he’s actually loosing you a lot business which could be turned into turnover. I’m a nurse and he’s behaviour was one with mental health issues. I’m more than happy for you to contact me if you require any additional information. Wished you had an option for no stars because this was appalling.

Lux confirmed a booking for a birthday party with free entry for all guests, outlined in the confirmation email. As soon as we got to the door the bouncers made us wait an extra 20 mins, just to tell us we had to pay $20 entry fee, however after a rigorous bargaining we got them down to $10. If you want to get ripped off and left out, go to lux.

Was overcharged by a bar tender $70 for two vodka with energy drinks was suppose to be $28 luckily I asked for the receipt and just shove it at my face and ran off had to wait another 10 minutes before the bar manager came to get me the $42 refund and they didn't even seem to care no curiosity on the house anything l also noticed the last few receipts on the counter receipt holder were also $70 which was strange they probably do this often and scam a lot of customers always pay cash or get a recipe after every serve my advice.

I HAVE been going to Lux for YEARS, promoting different events for this Lux club, and recently DJ FRIDAY was one of the organisers for “Encore” NIGHT. I had been physically assaulted by a man who happened to be friends with DJ FRIDAY. He had physically assaulted me because he was declined by one of my friends who continue to say no she does not want this man in her presence. I had pushed him away and de-escalated the situation between this man and my friend. However he continued to come in our booth, and physically assaulted my friend hence why I stood up and pushed him away to defend my friend from him. SECURITY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING they let this man stay in the club after he assaulted two woman. Half the club at the time was shocked that NO SECURITY was there when the assault had taken place and when they did know what had happened, they DID NOT KICK THIS MAN OUT. Me myself had to leave the club as I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL AND WAS SCARED FOR MY WELL-BEING. When I left the club I even had a word with HEAD SECURITY (who keep in mind I’ve known this man for a long time) HEAD SECURITY TOLD ME THEY CANT KICK HIM OUT BECAUSE HIS FRIENDS OF DJ FRIDAY (who is the promoter). So clearly this club have nooooooo RESPECT OF PROTECTING THE PEOPLE WHO PAYING EVERYONES WAGES. If it’s not for the people who attends LUX there would be NO CLUB!!! So save your penny and go to a actual club where your well-being is taking seriously!!! Especially WOMAN.

Absolute scam. Staff and security are terrible. Bought pre tickets and waited in line for almost 3 hours only to be turned away. Staff also ignore and deceive customers regardless if you stay calm. They way the whole place is, is very inhumane.

Refused entry due to ethnicity, not being a regular, and not wanting to purchase a booth on a sunday night regardless of bringing in a large group of customers whilst over 30 people left the club. Also refused entry due to “dress code” and after pointing out patrons leaving in shorts while my group were dressed in dress pants and shirts, the security resulted to intimidating us as a plausible excuse to push us away from the club.

Went to this place last Friday night for Mamacita. The place is ok, but the music was extremely loud! For the size of the venue, the music was way louder than needed, so annoying. I got home with this sound in my ears. I would not come back.

Myself and my partner come to lux all the time, letely the service has been even better****** 11/10 ***** with Michael at Mel Central, his service is fantastic. Thanks Lux & Michael.

The event was fun but there was no diabetic friendly drinks such as coke Zero or Pepsi Max. Considering 1 in 20 Australians are diabetic this isn't acceptable.

Fab venue, amazing staff really looked after us. Security was always there when We needed. Staff are really welcoming. Wasn’t too sure what to drink and they gave me some amazing drinks that I’ve never heard of! Super helpful! Music kept us dancing all night! Would go again! Would recommend

If you’re from the states and you like current hip-hop music this is where you need to go... periodt. They were playing all of the current songs from the states and had me dancing in a VIP booth with some of the local basketball players. I wish I had dressed nicer because I was sweating by the time I left from dancing so much. I will be back.

Wanted to go inside in a mixed group of 6peolle but security wanted 50$ cash each for entry. ( Online it said 30$ entry). That's how you ruin a nightclub pretty quickly ;)

Music was too loud for such a small venue, literally almost gave me tinnitus. Even worse, got charged $47 for 3 tequila shots even though it was $6 shots all night.

Since going to Lux while being under new management, the club is completely different, they hold new and improved nights there and the music had uplifted the vibe a whole tonne.

It was a very plesant experience. The vibe was very good, had lots of fun and the service was great.

I went there on Friday night. It was the worst night club that I go! It was so quiet and close on 12:00 am instead of 5:00 am!!! There is no chair for sitting! All for VIP section!

Bartenders and booth girls are incredibly sweet! The new lights are super cool and the music is always on point. Security and management are super helpful and easy to talk to which all makes for a great night out.

spent $1500 for vip and security don’t even do their checks and got kicked out at the door. disappointing to see that. Wouldn’t recommend spending a cent there…I felt a lot of racism specifically with security. If u black they find any reason not to let u in. Ik a lot people have been through this.

They added on the added on terms to the deal (which I checked that it wasn’t there when purchased on Eventbrite) that I couldn’t leave and come back in, which is a standard to all the clubs I’ve been too. All I tried to do was the responsible thing by getting some air so my brain could calm down and they kicked me out when i asked if there was any way I could go for a walk without paying an extra 60$.
