And if the space itself doesn’t sell it for you (which it absolutely should), the people definitely will. Tim and Jazz (and Charlie) are such lovely people and hosts who made sure everyone was having fun and feeling safe. Had such a great time at Benjys on Friday night for a work Xmas party. The bar has such a fun, community vibe and everyone was in great spirits. Lots of love in the room! The owner, Tim, has created such a welcoming and safe space. I will be telling ALL my mates and will definitely be back with my karaoke obsessed sister really soon.

My partner, friends, and I had an incredible experience this weekend at Benjy's. We went there to celebrate my partner's birthday and the owners, Tim and Jazz, made every possible effort to ensure that we had a great time. Tim quickly responded to all of my emails asking questions about bringing balloons, serving cake, when we should arrive, etc and was always kind and considerate in his responses. He kept saying they would "make a fuss" for my partner, and they certainly did!! They led the room in singing happy birthday, they lit the candles and brought out the cake to her, they gave her a birthday shot on the house, and checked in throughout the night to make sure we were all having a good time. My partner forgot to wear her "Birthday Girl" badge and Tim actually went out and bought one for her! He even looked up how to say "happy birthday" in her native language so he could write it on the projector. I genuinely don't know anywhere else you could expect that level of care. We stayed literally from open to close because we were having so much fun. I could not recommend Benjy's more highly, and I wish I could give more than 5 stars! They really do care about your experience and they just want to share their love and joy with everyone. They also recently hired door security, which was great and helped everyone feel more safe throughout the night. I can't wait to come back!

This wonderful spot gave me my very first friends after moving from America, and each time I return I make new friends. Benjys is the best place to feel like a rockstar. They deserve every one of those five star stars.

Love this place! I had my birthday here recently and the owners and staff made the booking process and the night itself super easy and pleasant. The communal vibe of the karaoke room is great, and the beer garden is lovely for if you want a quieter break or dinner between singing.

I had my birthday party at Benjys last week, it was absolutely brilliant. Tim and Jaz made every effort to add little details to the day to make it extra fun. They let us bring in food for our private function and that was brilliant too. I would definitely come back soon, on a public night to really make the best of the brilliant atmosphere.

I was so glad to be able to have my 30th celebration @ Benjys 🎉 although there are no private bookings on Fridays or Saturdays, Tim the gorgeous owner, made so much effort to make me feel special on the night, with shout outs on the board, over the speakers, and even brought out a little cake & alcohol free shot for me! The environment at Benjys is very unique, a feeling of saftey and community is very evident. Every time I have had a night out here, I have felt just as if I am at a house party, and often make a few new friends on the night. Staff are always so friendly, and helpful. And the energy is joyous and vibrant! I highly recommend for a event, or just a fun night out ☺️

Benjys Karaoke Bar was such a great and intimate spot run by incredible people who legitimately want you to have a good time. Despite all the lock downs and everything I (and my friends) were met with the biggest smile and the team were so friendly throughout. It’s a great spot to belt you heart out or enjoy other people doing the same. Disclaimer: you will get caught up and want to belt them out yourself so be prepared with your favourite song.

I had the great fortune of celebrating my Hens night at Benjy’s last night. It was incredible and made the night end on an absolute high! I hired out Benjy’s for a private party (a going away/30th) and it was the best decision. Tim and Jazz were so great to work with ahead of the party and went out of their way to make us feel special on the night. It was so much fun. Best value for money too. Benjis is always the best night out! I organised my friends hens to end here on the weekend and they were super accomodating, it’s just such a fun environment and the staff are so lovely. The kareoke set up is easy and everyone is there to have a great time!

I worked in Benjy’s for a brief period this year. I couldn’t recommend working with the owners of Benjy’s enough. They are passionate about their business and providing a great experience to customers, but at the same time have their employees best interests at heart. They are kind and patient with someone who was new to the bar work game! But they also have great advice and help to someone who is starting off new in Melbourne. It was a delight to work with Tim and Jazz and I find it a shame I couldn’t stay there longer.

I've been coming to Benjys for a few years and this place is great! The front is always a big party for karaoke fans, while the beer garden at the back is cozy and comfortable. I came here for my thirtieth and the staff made it a great night for everyone. Highly recommended!

Ensuring everyone gets their turn swiftly—whether you're in the mood for the headbanging rhythms of Metallica or the catchy pop tunes of Abba you can do it here - embarrass yourself and have fun - Benjy's has fostered an atmosphere of acceptance whatever your musical tastes in their 70,000 song library. Additionally, the staff and patrons are incredibly welcoming, and the owners are just as lovely. Highly recommend for a great night out! P.S. shame on TimeOut for not featuring Benjy's as a go to karaoke spot, it is consistently the most fun at a karaoke place in Melbourne.

Benjy's was so much fun. I'm not normally into kareoke bars but Benjy's was so welcoming that it was easy to relax and throw yourself into it. The owner was lovely and the song selection is extensive.

Had the best birthday at Benjy's! The singing was incredible and catered to all musical tastes. Shy singers should not hesitate. Everyone was encouraging and inclusive. Bar mixes a great Negroni too! Special thanks to staff and management (especially Tim) for escorting a man out of the bar without hesitation when a few women reported anti-social behaviour. A great night! We will be back for sure.

SO MUCH FUN! This is such a great Karaoke bar. It has the absolute best atmosphere, (plus props!) to let your hair down, have a boogie and belt out a tune or twenty! I had my birthday here and they gave me the best night! Tim and Jazz put together a slide show of pictures my partner provided to project onto the wall, found the song that was number 1 when I was born and were all round legends making sure I never wanted for a song to sing. I'm a semi-regular and I always get the warmest of welcomes. Benjys is a fun bar, with great vibes and an absolutely massive selection of songs to sing.

Benji's is more than just a karaoke bar, it brings people together. Great atmosphere, songs and staff. It has become my home away from home. Always having a great time at Benji's, even if you don't feel like singing, I still recommend going.

Benjy’s is an absolute gem of a karaoke bar! We sang, howled and danced the night away. They made the Birthday girl feel so special with flaming shots and dedicated songs for her to sing. There was also a super choice of Eurovision classics on hand for those who are slightly obsessed. Really clean loos, great little courtyard. The espresso martini’s are a MUST and of course the complimentary water on tap to keep things tidy was appreciated too. We loved the fancy dress box of hats and props. Had such a great time at Benjys karaoke bar for my birthday. We reserved a table and Tim was such an excellent host, making sure us 'birthday' guests were made to feel special, we even got to do a did a group performance together. Lots of fun, & non intimating, anyone can go up and have a go!

I recently celebrated my birthday at Benjys and had an amazing night thanks to Tim and the rest of his wonderful team. Although all of the tables were booked for the night, my group and I were encouraged to come as walk ins - Tim even kept us in the diary and kept in contact with me in the lead-up to the event to ensure that the bar would be well staffed for the night! The atmosphere was so welcoming and fun, and everyone in my party had a wonderful night.

I celebrated my 34th Birthday at Benjys over the weekend and it was SO MUCH fun!!!! Tim and his lovely partner and other staff members really made me feel special and held two tables for my group and gave me a birthday shot! Tim also made sure I got to sing lots of songs and all my friends really enjoyed themselves too! The venue itself is gorgeous and really caters for anything you could want! What an amazing place! I celebrated my birthday here and Tim & co made me feel so welcome and special from the second I walked in the door. The set up is super cute and the vibe was great. A great selection of songs (and wigs!).100% recommend.

I actually couldn't think of anything negative about my experience here. Amazing crowd, good range of alcohol at standard prices, awesome vibe and the host went over and above expectations with having my friends and I made feel welcomed and looked after. I'm a keen google review complainer so that I am giving a review of his nature is a big deal for me! A must for any folks who like karaoke. My only tips are to come early and book in advance!!

I picked Benjys to do a secret farewell party for my colleague and I couldn't be more happy with my decision. Tim was very welcoming and helped me make the night speicial for my colleague. We all had a blast, and I would definitely go back when I get a chance.

What a fantastic night we all had at Benjys Karaoke celebrating my Birthday. The lovely people who work there were so welcoming & made sure we were taken care of even introducing us to other patrons celebrating various occasions. It was very carefree & comfortable to get up and have a sing......voice or no voice all who were there just sang & danced along supporting each & every person who sang a tune 😊 We also noticed that the age of people in the venue varied & it made for such a fabulous night!!! Tim and Jazz greeted my friends and I with open arms, a massive song list (over 40k songs) and a fabulous espresso martini. Benjy's has a wonderful vibe and a lovely beer garden out the back for chats between songs. By the end of the night everyone was singing along and dancing with people we'd met that night. Truly a brilliant night that I'd recommend to everyone who loves a fun night out!

I recently had my birthday at Benjy's and it was a perfect night. The owners Tim and Jazz took care of me and my guests with such joy and positivity. I approached them about booking the entire venue for a private function and they were lovely enough to open just for me and my guests during their holiday closure period. The karaoke list is extensive with some great surprises I did not expect to see, and allowed me and my friends to go from indie rock to classic abba hits to broadway. The outdoor beer garden was such a comfortable space for a more relaxed environment and gave my friends a quiet reprieve from the wild party we had inside. They don't have any kitchen for food but did help me in finding a great pizza place for catering close by. Overall an immaculate night out for my roughly 60+ guests.
