If you like military history , big vehicles with big guns or just to see what goes on in an active military base, this place is worth a visit. Only took 1.5 hours to drive up from Croydon through the beautiful Yarra valley . Friendly, helpful staff and very well presented displays.

Large collection of armoured vehicles from WW1 tanks to Leopold 1AS4 tank and tanks from all over the world including USSR, other weaponry and accoutrements from WW1 to Afghanistan. I didn't expect to see some of the weapons l  used when l just to be a infantyman in 5/7 RAR (Mech) Anit Armour platoon, brought back lot of good memories. Take time out of your day to see and support the museum, the museum run by dedicated friendly army veteran. I took my mate J Scheske with me and he had a good time at the museum.

This is a fantastic place and if you are interested in Australian military history or have kids that like this kind of thing they will love it. You do need to keep in mind that this museum is on an Army base and you need appropriate ID, drivers license or passport to access the base and the museum. I’d ask the staff at the museum to talk to you about some of the history of the place as there is so much to see and the personal stories are the best. If you are a royal fan ask about the tier of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding cake they have there!

One of the best places to visit. This tank museum definetly ranks as one of the greatest experiences I've had. Offering up to 80 different tanks and a variety of exhibitions from WWI to the Vietnam War and more. This is definetly a must have experience and not to mention the scenery on the way there is breath taking. Do your self a favour and visit the Puckapunal Tank Museum.

In a word.... Fantastic! Well worth the cost of an admission ticket. Over 90 exhibits ranging from WW1 through to current engagements. The Souvenir Shop is well worth a visit, excellent range of items all very reasonably priced. To get onto the Base you will require Photo Identification. The Staff were exceptionally helpful, professional and friendly. Well deserving of its Five Star ⭐️ rating.

Originally thought that there was only one small museum, I didn't expect to have so many real tanks, we had an amazing journey.

A great military museum here. The bloke working was friendly and very informative. Lots of displays of the diffent uniforms and equipment from the different conflicts Australia has been in And of course the tanks. So many and so big. So much history here, give it a go.

Very interesting (and cheap). Great collection of armoured vehicles and other weaponry and accoutrements. Was manned by Graham, an army veteran who I think was a volunteer. Really nice bloke, very helpful and knowledgeable. This place is not well known but shouldn't be missed by anyone with an interest in military history.

Good place for a break in your car ride. It’s located on a Dept of Defense property but easily accessible via the gate for all visitors. Just a quick brief and your on your way. The museum has some good history with tanks from both foreign and Australias local stuff. There is a gift shop for some stuff if your little one needs something to play with on a rainy day.

An amazing display of tanks and machines that have protected our military and way of life. Well set out for all abilities, the staff are friendly and so willing to fill in any details. A short drive from Melbourne and worth the trip for anyone with interest in the defence area.

I visit it in last public open day. I was amazed with the collection. I hope they will move to better and bigger place they deserve it.. Everyone was friendly. I was lucky to see Leopard A1 before it was going to UK and I loved Strv 103 Swedish tank.

Very interesting place probably more for men than women unless you have served in the armed forces. The staff were very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. It is unfortunate that it will be closing soon and relocating which will take approximately 2 year before it reopens.

Visited on an open day where the ADF brought in some of the active AFV's that they use including the Abrams. It was a great day. Easily spent a few hours looking at the collection and talking to the Volunteers and ADF personnel. The Museum in its current position is a bit of a problem to access if you do not have a car and you cannot access it using public transport. Even though there are nearby bus stops on google maps the base security doesn't like people using them to get to the museum. I got lucky and managed to hitch a ride with a gentlemen who was also going though security who was heading to the museum. Leaving the museum was easier than getting in, a servicemen directed me to the bus stop and i got back to the railway station with no issue. Speaking to the staff and personnel I understand that the museum will be relocating soon to an area just off the base so I do not expect future visitors to have the same experience. What they have there is excellent and I hope their new facility further improves their outstanding museum.

Awesome site with incredibly well kept tanks and descriptors to go with each. When I went there the speakers were making this white noise throughout and it was very uncomfortable though I trust that it has since been fixed.

An amazing collection of army vehicles and displays of military items. Definitely on the must see list if you enjoy museums. Informative staff and great displays. Just make sure you have photo ID for any adults in your vehicle as there is a security point at the entrance you need to go through.

I have to declare that I was the RSM of the Australian Armoured Corps. That said this musuem has some off the best examples of armoured fleets. Leopard variants, M113 variants, Centurion variants and the list goes on and on. The curator has and is doing a brilliant job. Do yourself a favour!
