Great park, part of the green strip of parks along the Yarra River all the way to the City. Bounded by Banksia Park to the West and Finn's Reserve to the East and continuing the strip East to the very large Westerfolds Park. Several parking areas including disabled parking, public toilets, several shelters and wood fire BBQs, a kids playground and lots of wide open spaces as well as shady trees and benches to rest on. Walking trails and bike paths right through the extensive parklands.

Numerous areas for picnics. Good paved paths to walk under the trees and adjacent to the river. Large, fenced, off-lead area for dogs is moderately well maintained, but readily becomes muddy if there has been any rain.

It's a good place to be with your family. Nice and open with lots of parking space. You have BBQ area and nice dining area to enjoy a sunny day with good food. Kids got lots of area to play and few fun games are there. I love visiting this place whenever I get a chance with my family. Maintenance is really good and it’s always nice and clean.

Birrarrung picnic area is kinda of private location that you can enjoy your family/friends gathering. It is safe for dogs too. There is no BBQ at this one but the table and benches are brand new.

Plenty of open space and play equipment for kids of various ages. Also has BBQ facilities and covered shelter and benches. If using the self managed wood fired BBQs, it is a good idea to bring dry kindling and cleaning materials and be careful using them during windy times, as the smoke can be quite substantial.

This is probably my best thing to have come out of the covid 25km radius! There is ample seating, well kept walking tracks, parking, and this playground!! So good for my 2yo. Sandpit, maze, baby & kid swings, 3 slides. Best part about the equipment is it's the kind where adults can easily get up there and play with them. Highly recommended.

Why did they take most of the picnic tables away?

Hidden gem in manningham areas. Small natural bush park for birds, reptiles and flora. The walking tracks is flat and easy access for all abilities. My son rode his bike without his training wheels. Roller skate/ blade can able to do around the track. There are playground, BBQ facilities and public toilets. As well as drinking water available.

Lovely park. Plenty of parking. BBQs, toilets, great walking paths, including along the Yarra. Nice internal lake/wetlands. Excellent playground for kids. A couple of under cover areas.

A beautiful park precisely because it is not overdeveloped and not too many people go there. Lots of native wild life including brown snakes. Enjoy it.

Lovely flat easy walking track. Great for a look at the flooded Yarra river.

  • 5/5 Periklis C. 4 years ago on Google
Well maintained and clearly marked pathways, fairly large car park and sufficient facilities (barbeque area, water and shaded are under the roof). Not to mention access to Yarra River.

It's just a very very good park. Great play equipment and huge undercover entertaining areas

A generally quieter park with a flat circular track ideal for parents with younger children learning to ride a bike. Like most Parks Victoria managed parks, a little run down in maintenance, still in need of weed control

Best to keep dogs on lead when walking along the path near river as cyclists also frequent here and ride this path.

The playground is currently fenced off aside from the swings and sandpit due to damage, hopefully an upgrade is on the way. There's been some improvement lately with some long awaited clean-up following the October '22 floods and views of the main billabong opened up after being dry for many years. The old wood fired BBQs are gone but nothing has replaced them yet and there are some shiny new drinking fountains Enjoy the walks and wildlife.

This is a nice place to relax for a while. It doesn't seem to be particularly well appointed with facilities that I could see, but it's still very nice. You could get bored quite quickly unless you have a book or something though

There are nice open spaces, and good, shaded Picknick area. The playground is different and interesting. However there are no bins and a lack of shade for the playground. There is also rubbish left all over the play area and the playground is in need of maintenance as it is looking tired and worn.

Lovely park in the river flats. Has nice wide pathways and is one of the flattest parks in Manningham. It is often used a a place for kids learning how to ride bikes and is suitable for prams, wheelchairs, Zimmer frames etc, There are two undercover picnic areas with BBQ facilities, one is next to a popular playground. The main path follows the river. The billabong that was a central feature of the park has remained empty for many years and has become quite overgrown.

Nice big park along the Yarra River in Bulleen. Enter off Templestowe Rd. Plenty of huge areas to either walk or ride or playgrounds to explore. Also a bike track runs around and along the Yarra at the back of the park. Plenty of parking. Closes 9pm in summer. Xlnt for any activity with kids or adults. U can be alone with the grass and birds for quiet reflection or flat out playing your favourite games. Toilets are at the river end.

Why oh why were the toilets in Birrarung Park closed and locked on Melbourne Cup Day when the park was full of groups of people responsibly socially distancing & enjoying the beautiful weather. On such a hot day it was hard to have to limit your fluid intake because of no toilets being available. Ridiculous!!

Good park for combined age young kids. All of the slides and areas are accessible via walkways and ladders. Unlike many parks these days that clearly define younger kid and older with difficult climbing or balancing pathways that little ones struggle with, yet are determined to go on the big slide, because let's face it, they are waaaay cooler. Cute little maze, sandpit, 3 slides, multiple picnic tables under shelter and easy parking access. Possibly a toilet further around the bend closer to the walking track, but didn't venture that far.

Another parks run park in Bulleen . Lots of walking, bike ,riding and dog walking tracks. There are toilets blocks which are just clean enough and a BBQ area under a Routunda, a great spot for a picnic unless it’s to hot a day
