Council
has
made
significant
improvements
targeting
the
general
community
rather
than
just
the
Mont
Albert
Cricket
Club.
Some
of
the
breaks
in
the
fencing
which
allowed
dogs
and
kids
to
escape
the
oval
have
been
closed
with
gates.
This
leaves
one
adjacent
the
north
edge
of
the
pavilion
which
the
Club
won't
allow
to
be
gated.
A
panicked
dog
can
still
run
out
on
to
the
road
and
there
have
been
several
near
misses.
Council
has
also
installed
flipper
catches
on
the
gates
so
they
lock
when
pushed
shut
but
no
self
closing
springs
yet.
The
floodlights
in
the
winter
evenings
have
been
very
helpful
to
the
evening
dog
walkers
as
is
the
new,
fence-enclosed
watering
point
for
dogs
a
d
humans,
accessible
from
inside
and
outside
the
oval.
A
great
innovation.
The
renovated
basketball/netball
courts
get
a
lot
of
use
and
two
new
picnic
tables
by
the
courts
and
well-used
playground
are
popular.
So
are
the
new
scattered
bench
seats
and
the
walking/jogging
track
meandering
around
the
oval.
